There is a little voice in the back of your head yelling at you that your friends are hurt, people are dying, and you need to stop wasting time and get up there right now and DO something about it. It takes an effort, but you restrain that impulse, take a deep breath, and try to explain the situation to the girls.
"There's a serious fight going on up there right now," you say flatly. "Five people are dead, and a sixth is dying; another person is right on the edge; and there are five others in various states of injury, one of whom is trying to hold off no less than six attackers in what looks like a no-holds-barred ninja battle." You fix Cordelia and Kahlua with a determined stare. "I am certain that Kasumi's family were up there when that explosion went off, and there's a good chance that Altria and Lu-sensei might have been with them."
Cordelia blanches. Kahlua looks more intent than usual.
"Now, I'm not going up there to fight," you continue, gathering your magic. "I'm taking Briar up there so she can heal the people who need it before they can be moved, and then I'm getting them out of there as fast as I can. You girls can do what you like, but I would really, really appreciate it if you didn't try to stop me."
Cordy looks torn. Kahlua regards you silently, but makes no move to stop you from casting your chosen spells. The first is a simple message, carried by the air currents in this building to the people in the box who were under attack: "This is Alex. I will arrive shortly, by magic, with a healer and an escape plan. Please don't attack me." You're skilled enough by now to make sure that all of those you think are your friends get the message. The spell allows for its recipients to send back a brief confirmation, assuming that they know to whisper their words - and surprisingly, someone does.

"Alexander," Altria murmurs, as if through clenched teeth, "this is not the time to play hero."
"That was the furthest thing from my mind," you answer, completing the casting of a haste spell. "Is there a relatively clear spot away from the fighting in there?"
"The corner at the opposite end of the window from us," comes the response, after a short pause. "Do you know which-"
"I can tell where you are, yes. Got it. Be there in five." You dismiss the message spell and raise your ki, focusing on emphasizing your senses and reaction time. If somebody does try to attack you, you want as much chance as possible of seeing it coming and getting the heck out of the way. "Briar, let's go."
"Are you sure you want to do this, Alex?" the fairy says as she lands on your shoulder. "By the time we get there through the chaos that must be in the halls, it may be too late to help."
"That's why we're teleporting," you reply, casting your next spell.
"Oh, okay. That'll definitely - wait, we're what?"
A mote of crackling silver-white energy appears on the floor before you, swiftly extending outwards into a perfectly straight line about a meter across, and then briefly thickening in a vertical direction, before a second line identical to the first rises sharply into the air atop rapidly-extending beams. They stop at a height of two meters, leaving a roughly door-shaped and -sized rectangular "frame" standing in previously empty space. Within the humming lines of power lies an absolute void - and it's into this ominous darkness that you proceed, that same lightning-like energy limning your form as you stride into the doorway.

"Alex, you-"
Briar's cry of fear and fury is cut off as the two of you fully enter the door, leaving behind your familiar space and time for somewhere... else. It's extremely hard to describe, partly because you're only there for a tiny fraction of a second, partly due to your lack of familiarity with the vocabulary necessary to really describe the sensations that accompany this kind of dimensional shenanigans - although for some unfathomable reason, there is a dull, flat twang that you swear sounds exactly like a wooden ruler being smacked against a desktop - but mostly because you're not entirely sure that you even have a body with which to experience anything.
As such, it's understandable that when you come back to normal reality, you're more than a little confused. You sway where you stand, momentarily unable to do much except try not to fall on your face - and it's in that moment that you see a shape moving towards you.
