The aftereffects of your first-ever spell of self-teleportation have left you too dizzy to be sure who or what is coming your way, never mind their intent in doing so, and the idea of trying to walk even a couple of steps in any direction when your legs feel about as sturdy as Jell-O does not appeal. Taking any kind of combative action, whether to attack or defend, would be even more absurd. Really, of your scant options in this situation, ducking is by far the easiest to achieve, and quite possibly the only one that you're in any fit state to pull off.

Of course, suddenly dropping to a crouch has its own dangers, not the least of which is how, in your current state, it takes some effort for you not to keep going and end up prone on the floor. Another rather unexpected problem reveals itself when someone slams into you shins-first and goes bowling over and onto you, biting off a word in Japanese that your translation spell interprets as a garble. This is followed almost instantly by a dull thud, as of a body - or the leading part of one, at least - impacting with a fairly sturdy wall at a modest velocity. The form whose weight is dragging you down to the debris-cluttered floor does not go completely limp, but there's a moment where various muscles that you could feel to be tensed are briefly loosened.

Not even three full seconds have gone by since you arrived in the room, but with your ki already raised - even if not specifically attuned to recovery - that's plenty of time for you to regain your senses. As you do so, you find that your first attempt at a transdimensional passage spell worked out pretty good, for you are indeed in the corner that Altria suggested. You can't yet get a clear look at the room because of the unfamiliar body weighing you down - a body clad in brown, as it happens.

"Alex!" at least three voices say in unison.

"Get down!"

"Move!"

"Don't move!"

Really not helping, people!

What do you do?
