Chapter 6
Aria's POV
My body stops shaking the moment I touch the water, water has always clams down me down, I hear Haley shouting and banging on the door but I don't care. She doesn't understand.
About 10 seconds after I get into the shower I feel a weird sensation in my legs and suddenly I am water and there are bubbles and then I am me but not me. I fall unsteadily to the floor and when I look at my legs I see why.
I screamed, because my legs are not there in their place is a long purple mermaid tail. "You have to dry off" Haley yells at me through the door. My body moves of it's own accord my arms pull me out of the shower and onto the dry rug. But I have no way to dry off now, a thought strikes me and I pull the hair dryer out of the nearest drawer and Immediately start drying myself of as I examine my new tail. It is really pretty the scales are the same colour as my left eye.
After what feels like forever my tail disappears and I am left sitting on the floor, I quickly put my clothes back on along with my sunglasses. Then I open the door and calmly ask Haley to "EXPLAIN WHY THE HELL I HAD A TAIL"
Haley's POV
1 hour is how long it takes for me to explain to her everything that Cleo, Ricky and Bella told me about being mermaids and by the time I'm done Aria decides she wants a nap and I decide not to tell her how long she has been 'napping'.
Aria's POV
Why is it that just when I have given up on anything supernatural ever happening in my life something supernatural happens. Those are my thoughts as I take an early morning walk next day.
I got up early and decided I needed to get some air, so I very quietly put on a t-shirt and shorts and tied my hair back in a high ponytail before slipping unnoticed through the house and out the door.
When I was about five minutes away from the house I realized I had forgotten my sunglasses, oh well at least nobody in Australia new me.
Ricky's POV
I saw her before I recognized her. I was just sitting in the forested area near the beach when an athletic looking girl came into view down the path, she looked familiar but I didn't recognize her right away because I was staring at her eyes, one of them was midnight blue and the other was a deep lilac. Unlike anything I had ever seen. She recognized me at the same time I recognized her.
I walked over to her because I wanted to know what happened since the last time I saw her that Haley hadn't told me.
"Aria!" I said as she suddenly sped past me covering her face she kept going until I asked what happened to her eye.
"I was hoping one of the mermaids would know, but clearly I can't even be a normal mermaid I have to be different" she was yell not really at me and her body was shaking unnaturally. She suddenly looked scared and ran as fast as an Olympic runner into a part of the forest where the trees were all packed together.
I blinked in surprise not sure if I should run after her so instead I pulled out my phone and called Haley.
Aria's POV
One minute I was angry and yelling the next I was shaking and scared, so I ran but it wasn't stoping my body was shaking and I knew it wasn't natural or part of being a mermaid it was something else.
"I'm sorry I wasn't satisfied by my life I'm sorry I wanted to be special, just make it stop" And that's when I exploded.
My vision was that of an animal, no not any animal a wolf. There was a puddle nearby and in its reflection was a wolf, a huge wolf with a white underbelly, the majority of its fur was a deep dark brown, the ears, tip of the tail and the top of the snout was a auburn so similar to my hair but it was the eyes that made me realize that it was me the right eye was midnight blue and the left was a purple colour.
I am a wolf, a mermaid, and I didn't know how to turn back, so I ran and when I stopped I was calm, I tried to imagine my human body.
After I turned back into a human I ran to the ocean and dived, and then I began the swim to mako.
