"Are you ready to go, Peter?" Wanda asked, appearing in the doorway to Peter's room at the Avengers Tower. Peter sorted through the clothes in his closet, "Almost!" He sighed, stepping back from where his clothes were hanging. "I just can't figure out what to wear."
Wanda smiled lightly and stepped into Peter's room, "Here, I'll help," The witch said, taking shirts out of his closet, looking at them quickly then putting them back until she found one she thought was acceptable.
She held it out for Peter, who was now sitting on his bed watching Wanda, "Sure, but are you sure that you want to take me with you? I don't want you to feel pressured at all, and if you're having second thoughts then I can happily stay home-" Peter was cut off by Wanda throwing a pair of pants at him, "Peter, you know I want you to come with me. We're just going out for one night, it'll be fun," Wanda said, trying to cheer Peter up and make him more excited about their outing together later that night.
Peter caught the pair of pants, looking at it and the shirt Wanda had picked out, "Okay, thanks for your help with my clothes, I'll come out once I'm changed," Peter shooed Wanda out of his room, not wanting to change in front of her.
Once he was ready, he met Wanda near the elevator to go down to the lobby. "Are you ready?" Wanda asked, a grin on her face that Peter matched easily, "Definitely."
Peter and Wanda made their way out of the Avengers Tower and into the streets of New York City. The sidewalks were cramped with people, and the streets were filled with cars and buses, making it very difficult to hear anything they tried to tell each other.
Since Peter and Wanda were two of the youngest Avengers on the team, they looked out for each other and often confided in each other about things going on in their lives. They trusted each other more than the rest of the team realized. And after a while of working together on missions and just talking, they grew closer and closer, marking the start of their friendship.
Eventually, they found a small cafe that they took refuge in, ordering some coffee before leaving to do as much shopping as possible before they had to head back to the Tower. Peter and Wanda were going to have as much fun as humanly possible while they had the chance.
Later that night, Peter and Wanda were exhausted. They had been walking around New York for many hours now, lugging around bags of clothes, make-up, and other things they had found in different shops around the city. By now the sky had turned dark and the fluorescent lights of the billboard signs and storefronts lit up the streets.
Since they were both very tired, they decided it was time to head back to the Tower, where they could unpack their bags and get some sleep.
No sooner had they stepped out of the elevator when they both felt too tired to even move, they were both too tired to even take their bags to their rooms, which were at the end of the hall, so instead they just set them down on the ground of the living room and decided to just crash on the couch.
It would be their fault if their backs hurt in the morning, but at the moment, they didn't care. They just wanted to go to bed. With that in mind, Peter was the one to lay down first, taking up most of the room on the sectional.
"Move your butt, Peter, I have to sleep too," Wanda said quietly, nudging Peter on the thigh. "Hey, Peter, move," Wanda tried again, but Peter had seemingly already fallen asleep, so she decided why not? She was just going to sleep on the couch as well.
Wanda pushed Peter farther onto the couch before joining him, laying down with her back to his front, very close as there wasn't much room for two people to lie down on. She quickly fell into a deep slumber, not thinking about anything other than how tired she was.
Steve walked out of his room at 5:00 AM, heading to the kitchen to eat a quick breakfast before he went out on his run. As he walked past the living room, something, or rather two certain someones, caught his eye.
In the living room were Peter and Wanda, both of them lying down on the couch together, their clothes disheveled, and bags lying on the floor near them. The sight surprised the super soldier, as he had not known that Peter and Wanda were a couple.
It made sense though, in Steve's mind, as they both always hung out together and could often be seen talking and laughing together. What surprised Steve the most was that Peter and Wanda would be so open about their… activities. Granted, times were different now than they had been in the thirties, but he hadn't realized that people were so open about what they did together.
Deciding to not think too much about it, Steve continued into the kitchen, hoping that there weren't too many people out when he went on his run.
Later that morning, Clint was the next one to notice Peter and Wanda. He had been crawling around in the vents when he decided to sneak up on whoever was in the living room at the moment. So, Clint climbed until he got to the vents above the living room, peeking out only to see Peter and Wanda holding each other on the couch.
Clint thought he was screwed for a second, Peter had probably heard him in the vents with his super-hearing, but then he realized that Peter wasn't awake. He was sleeping on the couch, holding Wanda against his chest.
Clint thought he knew Peter pretty well, but he had never known the kid had a girlfriend, even less so that said girlfriend was Wanda, who he didn't know quite as well, but he was still an Avenger with. This made Clint think of his oldest son, Cooper. He was slightly younger than Peter, but he was getting to be around that age…
Clint realized pretty quickly that not only were Peter and Wanda sleeping together, but it looked like they had actually slept together. Not wanting to stay any longer, Clint crawled off, deciding he would go try and sneak up on Natasha, who was in the training room.
Tony was the next person to find Peter and Wanda on the couch together. He had stumbled out of his room around 11:00 AM, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes, the only thing on his mind was his need for coffee. He had stayed up late last night in his lab, only going to bed after he had almost passed out while working a power saw, which was just asking for danger.
To get to the kitchen, Tony walked through the living room, almost walking right through it before noticing something. Someone was sleeping on the couch. Seeing as that usually meant someone had a nightmare and couldn't fall asleep, he walked closer to see who it was.
Tony was shocked by what he saw. He wasn't shocked that it was Peter lying on the couch, as Peter got nightmares pretty often, either about his Uncle Ben, the Vulture, or any of the other traumatic events in his life.
What he was shocked about was that Wanda was on the couch with Peter. And there was no mistaking just how close they were laying, their bodies touching as they slept.
Tony felt himself wake up a lot quicker. "Peter?" Tony asked, almost yelling his name in shock.
Peter and Wanda woke up, startled by the noise. "Wha- what?" Peter asked groggily. "Peter, what are you doing?" Tony asked, his voice stern. He didn't want Peter to make the same mistakes he did, and sleeping with someone- especially without protection- was something that could come with many consequences.
"What do you mean?" Peter asked, sitting up on the couch as Wanda did the same, no longer leaning against each other. Tony took a deep breath, "I mean why didn't you tell me? I warned you about this before, remember I told you this was alright as long as you told me."
Peter let the confusion show on his face, "What was alright? What did I do?" Tony sighed, "Don't play dumb with me Pete, you know I don't care too much that you're doing things like this, I just need to make sure you- both of you- are being safe about it."
Peter seemed to conclude what Tony was talking about, "Oh, I'm sorry Mr. Stark, we just wanted to go out shopping yesterday and we ended up staying out late, but I promise I'll tell you before we go out again."
Tony looked at Peter for a second, confused. "What do you mean?" "What do you mean?"
Wanda, who had been watching this interaction the whole time, realized what Tony was actually talking about. She blushed, "Oh no, Mr. Stark, we didn't- we wouldn't- we didn't do that." She stammered out, knowing that the mechanic had thought that she and Peter had done it together.
Tony shook his head, "There's no shame in admitting that you two did, I just need to know if you guys took the proper precautions for it." Peter was still confused, "Wait so Mr. Stark, you're fine with us going shopping?"
Tony nodded, "Uh yeah, kid, but what does that have to do with anything?" Tony hadn't seen the shopping bags that were near the couch but was more confused about what shopping could have to do with Peter and Wanda having sex.
"Then what are you talking about?" Peter asked, still confused. Wanda turned towards Peter, "Peter, Tony thinks we slept together." She said, unable to stop the blush that returned and colored her cheeks pink. "But we did." "No, not that we were sleeping next to each other, but that we slept together."
Realization dawned on Peter, making him also turn a bright shade of red from the neck up. "Mr. Stark we've never- we don't-" Tony cut Peter off with a chuckle, "I think I got that at this point, kid." Peter was still blushing, now knowing what Mr. Stark thought he and Wanda had done together.
It would only be later that Steve, Clint, and the rest of the Avengers would understand that Peter and Wanda weren't dating and hadn't done anything with each other. At least, not yet…
