"Finally here." Ruby says as she, Luffy and Jaune made their way to the door "Good thing the notice also comes with a map or we would've been in trouble." Ruby looked to the two.
"Shishishi, yeah and it's a good thing we found that lunch box or else I would've starved." Luffy laughed getting Ruby to look at him with a sweatdrop while Jaune slumps.
"That was my lunch Luffy, I was keeping it for later." Jaune said giving Luffy a light glare.
Luffy just laughed "Really? Thanks for that!".
"I WASN'T GOING TO GIVE IT TO YOU!" Jaune snaps.
"Ruby, Luffy over here I saved you two a spot!" Yang waved at them in the crowd.
Ruby was about to go before stopping herself "Oh! Hey, I gotta go! I'll see you after the ceremony!" Ruby waved bye as she ran up to her sister.
"See ya Jaune, thanks for the lunch!" Luffy followed along.
"Hey wait." Jaune reached out before sighing "Great. Where am I supposed to find another nice, quirky girl to talk to?" Jaune says as he walked past Pyrrha who gave him a glance before walking off "And now I'm hungry" Jaune complained as his stomach rumbled.
[First night of Beacon.]
Finally making there way to Yang she notice Ruby giving her a cute angry pout and Luffy is by himself "Luffy where's Zoro?".
Luffy shrugs "Dunno, probably got lost." Luffy says nonchalantly getting Yang to sweatdrop.
"Okay… So." Yang turns to Ruby "How's your first day going, little sis?".
Ruby turns to glare at her directly "You mean since you ditched me and I exploded!?" Ruby says getting Luffy to chuckle.
Yang looked abit amused "Yikes. Meltdown already?"
"Nah! She really exploded a hole in front of the school." Luffy says getting Ruby to blush in embarrassment "There was fire, smoke and I think there was some ice. It was really awesome!" Luffy finished.
Yang looked at Luffy before turning to Ruby "...Is he being sarcastic?" Yang asked.
Ruby slumped a bit "I wish. I tripped over some crabby girl's luggage!" Ruby starts to explain not seeing the crabby girl looking at them and making her way to them "And then she yelled at me! And then I sneezed. And then I exploded! And then she yelled again! And I felt really, really bad! And I just wanted her to stop yelling at me!-""-YOU!" Ruby turns and jumped into Luffy's arm cowering "Oh God, it's happening again!".
"You're lucky we weren't blown off the side of the cliff!" Weiss berated getting Yang to look at Ruby with realization.
"Oh my god, you really exploded." Yang said stunned it really happened.
"It was an accident!" Ruby said to who she thought was Yang but once she looked did she notice she was hugging Luffy, she blushed and jumped off "It was an accident!" she cried not sure if it was directed at Weiss or Luffy, once she got back on her feet Weiss pushed a pamphlet in front of Ruby "What's this?"
Weiss gave Ruby a stern look "The Schnee Dust Company is not responsible for any injuries or damages sustained while operating a Schnee Dust Company product. Although not mandatory, the Schnee Family highly encourages their customers to read and familiarize themselves with this easy-to-follow guide to Dust application and practice in the field." she says completely memorizing the entire Schnee guidelines she never thought she would ever need to after being forced to learn it word for word.
Ruby just stared as everything she said flew over her head, while Luffy starts to doze off "Uuuuh?" Ruby tilts her head.
Weiss glares "You really want to start making things up to me?" she asked.
Ruby with hopeful eyes "Absolutely!" she said before Weiss shoves the pamphlet into her hands.
"Read this and don't ever speak to me again." Weiss says and was about to walk off.
"Look, uh…" Yang says stopping the girl as she looks to her "It sounds like you two got off on the wrong foot." Yang says hoping to help her little sister "Why don't you just start over and try to be friends, okay?" Weiss gave her a skeptical look.
Ruby on the other hand "Yeah! Great idea, Sis!" Ruby turns to Weiss raising her hand for a hand shake "Hello, Weiss! I'm Ruby! Wanna hang out? We can go shopping for school supplies!" Ruby offered hoping it will not be like elementary school…
"Yeah, and we can paint our nails, and try on clothes, and talk about cute boys like tall, lanky and sleepy over here." Weiss replies sarcastically as she points to Luffy who is sleeping while standing.
Ruby thinking it wasn't like elementary school smiled "Really!?".
Weiss just gave her blank look "No." She says getting Ruby to slump in disappointment, it was just like elementary school all over again, and middle school now that she thinks about it.
While Weiss watch Yang try to cheer Ruby up she then hears "Oi Weiss, don't run off or your gonna bump into someone else." all three turn to the voice seeing Zoro walking up to them with Zoro noticing them "Hey, so this is where you all are?".
"ZORO!?" Both Yang and Ruby shouts in surprise that he actually showed up and not get lost.
"Zoro do you know these people?" Weiss asked surprise he knows them.
Zoro nods "Yeah, they're friends, well two of them is, the blonde one is more annoying." Zoro says getting Yang's brow to twitch.
"Hey watch it bub!" Yang waved her fist while Zoro just smirks.
Zoro then notice Luffy dozing off, so with a sigh Zoro walked over and bonk Luffy's head "Wake up you moron.".
"Mm? Is it time for breakfast?" Luffy says as he rub his eye.
"It's noon." Zoro says a little annoyed with his antics.
Luffy nods "Oh…..So lunch time?".
"Stop thinking about food for once." Zoro chops Luffy's head fully waking him up.
"Oh! Zoro finally found you, where did you go?" Luffy asked before getting a harder punch to the head from Zoro.
"After dragging me around you suddenly ran off on your own!" Zoro snaps as Luffy rubs his comical bump.
Luffy looked to Zoro "Really?" before laughing "Guess I did." Luffy kept laughing as Zoro sighs.
"Is this who you were looking for?" Weiss asked as she looked at Luffy who just stared back at her.
Zoro nods "Yeah this is Luffy, he might look like an idiot… okay he is an idiot, but he's reliable I can attest to that." Zoro says before looking to Luffy "Luffy this is Weiss.".
Weiss gave a curtsy to him "It's a pleasure to meet you.".
Luffy just smiled "Yo! I'm Luffy nice to meet cha!" Luffy greeted Weiss just gave Zoro a raised brow look while Zoro just shrugs.
Ozpin walking up to the stage got the students attention once behind the microphone he starts to scan the crowd seeing a few prevalent hopefuls among the crowd, 'hopefully there will be more passing than last year.' he thought but looking how one off them starts to push off a student with a squirrel tail getting him to sigh.
"I'll... keep this brief. You have traveled here today in search of knowledge, to hone your craft and acquire new skills, and when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people." Ozpin says as he sees many of them being filled with pride and bravado 'how disappointing.' "But I look amongst you, and all I see is wasted energy, in need of purpose, direction." he says getting many to look around confused as they starts to whisper among themselves "You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step." he finished as he took one last look did he see something among them, Ruby while hesitant he can see a spark in her silver eyes, Zoro looked up unchanged as his eyes flicker red for a second, Jaune looked the most self conscious but he didn't run as he stayed in place and finally Luffy who stood taller than the others not wavering as he stared straight at him.
Then he smiled, Ozpin stopped for a second 'Hey Ozzy, why are you so down?' he remembers as a man in a red coat, with long shaggy black hair looking back at him with a wide smile behind his iconic mustache 'You don't have to worry so much, even when I'm gone I know you can keep us safe, right? After all, we're Nakama.' Ozpin walked past Glynda who looked confused as she watched Ozpin left the stage.
Glynda never seen the look on Ozpin's face before she recomposed herself as she looked to the future hunters and huntresses "You will gather in the ballroom tonight; tomorrow, your initiation begins. Be ready. You are dismissed." Glynda walked off following Ozpin wondering the look he made, that bitter smile.
After both Professors walked off stage the hopefuls were left confused and a bit offended while others overthinking about the message and many feeling a bit underwhelmed.
Yang is one of the confused ones "He seemed kind of...off." Ruby nods.
"It's almost like he wasn't even there." Ruby replied.
Zoro yawned "Maybe he just have to say that every year, and was just going through the motion." he says.
Weiss on the other hand disagrees "Obviously there is something more to what he says, not sure what but I'm sure there is more.".
Jaune seeing Weiss who he finds really cute just saunters over to her "You know there's more to me too." Jaune flirted very badly as Weiss hid behind Zoro looking at Jaune like he's a creep, Zoro on the other hand face palmed.
(Beacon Ballroom.)
The new future Huntsmens all gathered in the room some finding an empty place to put down their sleeping bag, while others gather in their own group of friends or acquaintances and some just want to stick with family like Ruby who is wearing a black tank top featuring a heart-shaped Beowolf design on the chest and long white pants decorated with pink roses. She also wears a black sleeping mask decorated with cartoonish triangular red eyes that is similar to that of a Beowolf.
Ruby is lying down writing down some letter for her friends back in Signal and also writing an apology letter to her Dad for leaving without him seeing them off, her writing stopped as Yang now wearing an orange tank top with her emblem on the front in red, and black boy shorts, drops down on her own sleeping bag next to her "It's like a big slumber party!" Yang says a little excited by the big place and cute boys and girls in said room, no she isn't Bi she just likes to appreciate hot people.
Ruby on the other hand looked around a bit intimidated by the amount of people around her "I don't think Dad would approve of all the boys, though." she says feeling a bit uncomfortable.
Yang on the other hand just looked around "I know I do." Yang says as she purrs at seeing the boys without their shirts having a flexing competition until Zoro walked past, causing them to stop at seeing the young swordsman's impressive muscle that has a large scar on his front getting them to ask how he got the scar and what is his work out routine getting him to look annoyed.
Yang also wants to see what they are talking about but seeing Jaune walking past wearing an embarrassing blue bunny onsesie pajama he saw her and waved, Yang just looked grossed out before noticing the letters "What's that?" she lay back down to see it better.
Ruby went back to writing "A letter to the gang back at Signal." she said giving a sad look "I promised to tell them all about Beacon and how things are going." she says as she missed them and sad they couldn't go with her.
Yang gave her a cheeky smile "Aw, that's so cuuuute!" earning herself a Zwei themed pillow to the face.
"Shut up! I didn't get to take my friends with me to school!" Ruby says before looking a bit down "It's weird not knowing anyone here!".
Yang sitting up raised a brow "What about Jaune? He's... nice! There's also Zoro." Yang says then she looked at Ruby teasingly "And lets not forget Luffy~!" this got her sister to blush and glare at her "There you go! Two friends and one crush!-""NOT A CRUSH!""- Three hundred percent increase!".
Ruby on the other hand didn't look convinced "Pretty sure Weiss is a negative friend. And we met Luffy and Zoro before entering Beacon so they don't count. So back to zero." Ruby says as she went back to her letter.
Yang just smiled "There's no such things as negative friends! You just made one friend and one enemy!" Yang says earning another plush pillow to the face, after grabbing the pillow she gave Ruby an encouraging look "Look, it's only been one day. Trust me; you've got friends all around you! You just haven't met them yet!".
Ruby gave Yang a doubtful look until she saw that same bow wearing girl sitting in the corner reading a book besides a candle, she is now wearing a black, long-sleeved, Yukata style shirt with white edging over a purple undershirt and a matching skirt. A black obi is wrapped around her waist and tied with a black and white string. "That girl…" Ruby says getting Yang to look to where her sister is looking.
"You know her?" Yang asked.
Ruby shook her head "Not really." she says as she turns to her sister "She saw what happened this morning, but left before I could say anything.".
Yang smiles thinking this might be another friend for her sister "Well, now's your chance!" Yang says as she gets up and grabbed Ruby and dragged her with her.
Ruby looked confused and concern at what her sister is doing "Wait, what are you doing?" Ruby asked only to be ignored by her sister.
Blake kept trying to immerse herself into her book but the sound of a struggle kept her from doing that, a little annoyed she looked up from her book seeing a blond girl dragging a struggling red headed girl toward her waving at her, great. "Helloooo~! I believe you two may know each other?" the blonde says as she shoved the girl forward earning a glare from said girl to the blonde.
Ruby just glares at Yang before waving nervously at the bow wearing girl "Aren't you...that girl that exploded?" the girl questioned getting Ruby to wince at the memory.
Ruby just smiles trying to not let it bother her "Uh yeah! My names Ruby! But you can call me Craterrr…..Actually you can call me Ruby." Ruby says smiling embarrassingly almost calling herself Crater face and she will deny it no matter what.
After an awkward pause the black haired girl who waited for more just went back to her book "Okay." she replied hoping they would leave.
Yang looked to her awkward sister and lean in "What are you doing?" she whispered.
Ruby leans back and whispers back "I don't know-HELP ME!" she then went back to her awkward smile.
"So...What's your name?" Yang ventured hoping introduction would help.
The girl didn't even look up "Blake." she says trying to get back to her book.
Yang was hoping for more "Well, Blake, I'm Yang, Ruby's older sister!" Yang said, after an awkward pause she tries to look for something to start up a conversation until she saw the bow "I like your bow!".
Blake now annoyed "Thanks." she says trying really hard to ignore the two so she can read.
"It goes great with your...Pajamas!" Yang tries to compliment hoping it would help the awkwardness, it didn't work.
Blake looked up annoyed as she stares at Yang "Right…." she went back to her book.
Yang just stood there laughing awkwardly as she looked around for anything else for a topic "Um, Nice night, don't you think?".
"Yes, it's lovely." Blake says before looking up to see the sisters still standing there "Just as lovely as this book." she says as the girls still stood there "That I will continue to read." she look down to her book but them standing there staring is really making it hard "As soon as you leave." she says annoyed as she glare at the two who's still looking at her.
After an awkward while "Yeah, this girl's a lost cause!" Yang says having giving up.
Ruby was staring at the book "What is it about?".
Blake looked up surprised and confused "Huh?".
"Your book, does it have a name?" Ruby asked.
Blake looked down to her book contemplating to reply but ultimately decided to do it "Well...I-It's about a man with two souls, both fighting each other for control over his body." she says before showing them the title [The splitting soul].
"Oh yeah…" Yang looking uninterested reply sarcastically "That's real lovely.".
Ruby on the other hand "I love books." she says with a small smile "Yang use to read to me every night." Yang just smiles as she remembers how Ruby would beg her to read for her "Stories of Heroes and Monsters…They're one of the reason why I want to be a Huntress!" she says as her eyes glowed with admiration.
Blake just laughed at that "And why is that? Hoping to live happily ever after?" Blake said a bit of teasing in her voice.
Ruby smiles "Well, I was hoping we all will. As a girl, I wanted to be just like those heroes in the books… Someone who fought for what was right, and protect people who can't protect themselves!".
Blake just smiles "That's.. very admirable for a child." but it fell as she looked down to her book "Unfortunately, The real world isn't like a fairy tale." she says with a bit of guilt in her eyes.
"Well that's why we're here!" Blake looked up at Ruby who gave her a kind smile "To make it better!".
Blake just stared at Ruby who isn't tainted by the dark truth of the world, a young and pure soul who still have hope for the world.
Before Blake can say anything Yang suddenly hugs Ruby with a bit of pride "Oh, I'm so proud of my little sister!" Yang shouts out as she squeeze her cute sister who was struggling for air.
Ruby manage to get some room to breath tries to pry her sister off "Cut it out!" Ruby says managing to push her sister off but noticing her going for another hug so she starts to duck, dodge and push her sister resulting in a comical dust cloud in front of a stunned Blake who couldn't stop herself from giggling.
Blake managing to calm down her giggle smiles at the two who is still struggling before her "Well, Ruby, Yang it's a pleasure to-""-What in the world is going on here!?" a shrill cry cuts her off as well as stopping the two sisters from their little wrestling match.
They both turn to see Weiss with her hair down wearing a faded blue nightgown with short sleeves and white trim and display the Schnee Crest on the upper-right chest. She is marching down to them with an irritated look rubbing her eye having being woken up by the noise "Don't you realize some of us are trying to sleep?" she said as she looks up to glare at the trouble maker who woke her up only to look stunned as she and Yang stare at each other "Oh, not you again!""Oh, not you again!" Both Yang and Weiss point at each other in dismay.
Ruby suddenly looked around noticing some annoyed looks from other people tries to calm Yang down "Shh! Guys, she's right! People are trying to sleep!".
Weiss crossed her arms "Oh! Now you're on my side!?" Weiss says a little angry at being roused awake and because she's still mad Ruby blew her up.
"I was always on your side!" Ruby replied a little hurt by it.
Yang then rushed up to Ruby's defense "Yeah! What's your problem she was just trying to be nice!" Yang retort a little annoyed on her sister's bully.
Weiss just huffs "She's a hazard to my health!".
Yang growls as she starts to march up to Weiss with her eyes going red "I'll show you whose a hazard to your-" "-Would you two shut up and go to bed!" they both stop and turn to see a glaring orange haired girl who pushed the two apart.
"I've been lying there trying to sleep and you two bickering like a bunch of brats is not helping!" the orange haired girl growls she is a fair skinned teen with neck length orange hair with brown eyes, she is wearing a long sleeved yellow shirt dress pajama with the word [soft and cozy] printed on her chest which is hefted over her crossed arms as she gave the two girls a harsh glare "If you want to fight, you can do it tomorrow, I don't care, I just want to go to sleep but you two yelling and shouting is making that a little impossible, so whatever it is you two are dealing with is going to stop, now GO TO BED!" the girl ordered getting every one even the annoyed ones to stare at her a little stunned "WELL!?" that got many to hurry to bed not wanting her ire on them.
The four girls just stared a little intimidated by the fiery orange haired girl who kept glaring at them "Ahem, Fine, I was planning to go to sleep anyway." Weiss says as she walks back to where she was sleeping.
Yang gave a nervous smile "Uh yeah gotta need that beauty sleep!" she says as she drags Ruby "Come on Ruby!".
Ruby just gave the girl an apologetic smile "I'm really sorry!" she manage to say as her sister dragged her.
The girl then stares at Blake who kept staring back and with a sigh she picked up her candle and snuff it out and heading back to her sleeping bag.
Once everyone went to sleep the girl sighs as she went back to her own sleeping bag hoping she would at least have a nice dream.
(Beacon Clock Tower.)
Ozpin sighed as he looked through the paper before the elevator opened getting him to look up "All the students are accounted for and are now resting in the ballroom now." Glynda reported getting Ozpin to nod but returned to his papers, after a while Glynda gave him a concern look he hasn't touched his coffee after he gave his speech "Sir." Ozpin looks up "Is something on your mind?".
Ozpin was quiet for a second before sighing "Glynda, I have been headmaster for Beacon for a long time and I've seen many heroes and legends graduate from this very school, but not many made a dent against the Grimm." Ozpin gave a grim look "Until one man came." Ozpin relaxed a bit "He not only stopped the Grimm he pushed them back he was strong, reliable and charismatic, but he was wild, independent and free." Ozpin gave a bitter smile "I would happily give my seat of headmaster to him but it would not suit him after all, Beacon is too small for Gol D Roger.".
Glynda looked surprised "The Huntsman King? He was a student here?" Ozpin nods "I didn't know that but why are you thinking of him now.".
Ozpin just put down a piece of paper showing Glynda Luffy's paper "Monkey D Luffy, there is something about him that reminds me of Roger, funny enough he had it with him too." Glynda looked confused as Ozpin smiles "The straw hat.".
"A...Straw hat...really?" Glynda asked "What does the straw hat has to do with it?" Ozpin just smiles.
"It was not just a hat Glynda it was his." Ozpin says getting Glynda to look surprised and confused "It was verified by Silvers not too long ago he said it was Shanks who gave it to him.".
"Shanks!?" Glynda perked up before blushing when Ozpin gave her a sly smile causing her to cough a bit "Excuse me continue.".
Ozpin chuckled "It's quite alright, I know how you feel about the man." Glynda just blush from that "It was what Shanks said that got me believing in fate." Ozpin said as he stood up from his desk "He said the same thing as Roger." turn to Glynda who looked a bit surprised "Glynda do you believe in destiny?" Glynda didn't say before looking down on the papers on the desk showing Ruby, Jaune, Pyrrha and Luffy's paper showing Luffy to smiling at the camera (Luffy's original wanted poster picture.)
