Chrysalis was ecstatic, the two people she hated most in the world. Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Ladybug both stood right in front of her, powerless to do anything. She could end this now, but that wouldn't do. She could kill her, or she could use the miraculous to make it so she never existed to begin with.
"Hand over your miraculous, and don't even think about trying to transform" Chrysalis spoke in a confident tone, stepping inside the bakery, forcing Marinette to back up.
Tikki flew from Marinette's pocket, standing in front of her. She knew she shouldn't use her power without Marinette, but this was an exception. She had to help her. "Lucky Charm!"
Viperion attempted to break through the wall of the prison he'd found himself trapped in to no avail. It was probably too late to warn Marinette now, and he was stuck here. He felt so helpless
"Have you got your phone?" Purple Tigress asked as she tried to think of a way out. You could call her.
"No, have you?"
"Well… yes, but I can't reach it. My costume is in the way" She sighed. She didn't want to reveal her identity. "Stripes off"
With that, she reverted back to normal, much to Luka's surprise "Sis?"
"Wait… Luka?" She quickly snapped out of the surprise before taking out her phone
"Call Adrien, he's Chat Noir, don't ask me how I know" He wasn't exactly happy to be revealing secret identities like this, but it was life or death.
"Juleka? It's actually kind of rare to get a call from you. What's up?" Sure, Chat Noir had sent her to infiltrate Tomoe's Gala, but Adrien had to fake ignorance.
He dropped his phone when Juleka told him everything they'd found as well as them being currently trapped before telling the Gorilla to stop the car, he ran off without explaining before heading into a relatively secluded alley.
Marinette was Ladybug, he could scarcely believe it, which also meant Marinette had lied to Paris, Marinette had kept his fathers identity from him sure she was sorry but well he felt conflicted and yet he pushed those feelings aside for now, regardless of his conflicted feelings she needed help.
"This is a huge mess!" Plagg grimaced "how'd they figured Pigtails out!?"
"No use wondering how!" Adrien was still processing that himself. "Plagg Claws Out!"
As soon as he was transformed he took off as fast as he could towards the bakery, when he got there he would see Chrysalis trying to catch Ladybugs Kwami and a red steel wall with black spots it looked like a lucky charm but It was much to big and it'd smashed it's way through the bakery.
"Please tell me you're okay" He would say to himself as he approached the bakery. "Ladybug! Are you alright?"
"Yes, Tikki protected me" Her voice came from the other side of the wall "Don't Look now though, I'm not transformed"
"I already know it's you Marinette…" Chat answered their conversation wouldn't go any further, however, as Tikki hid behind Chat Noir.
"Slippery little thing" Chrysalis would curse, glaring at Chat Noir. "Should've known you'd be a long, lap cat,"
"You know you can't beat me, Lila or whatever you call yourself, give up and surrender, I don't want to have to hurt you"
"How gracious of you, but at this point, I can't really give up, can I? You know my identity, even if I get away you'll make that information public, surrender is no longer an option for me" She would back off as she said this, she wasn't really confident She could beat him barring a cheap shot.
"Though if you do, I'll just tell everyone about Marinette here. What do they call that again? Mutually assured destruction?" She would step back again before turning and running in the opposite direction.
Chat would give chase, quickly followed by Ladybug. "Ladybug. Are you gonna be alright going after her? I think Viperion and Purple Tigress might need my help"
"Of course, I'll deal with Chrysalis. You go help them"
Chrysalis looked back, seeing Chat noir head in the opposite direction, leaving just her and Ladybug. Who was getting uncomfortably close.
Ladybug would tackle Chrysalis in mid-air, sending them crashing through the windows of a building the two of them knew all too well, Collège Françoise Dupont.
"Lila just give up. You know you can't beat me, I don't want to hurt you if I don't have to"
"I'm not giving you the choice!" Chrysalis snarled, drawing her sword and charging Marinette, who effortlessly avoided her attack.
She would attack again and again, but Ladybug would dodge each strike with barely an issue. "Why? Why do all this? To get back at me? Was exposing you as a Liar really such a big deal to you?"
To own truth, Marinette had never understood her grudge against her. Sure, she knew Lila didn't like her, but Marinette didn't wish her any harm. So why did She seem to hate her so intensely.
Chrysalis didn't answer that. Instead, he attempted to kick Ladybug, catching her off guard and knocking her into one of the tables.
"I wouldn't expect someone like you too understand" She spat as she approached, dragging the tip of her blade across the ground.
"You've had such an idealistic life. You couldn't possibly understand me. No parents, being passed from Foster mother to Foster mother. Guess you can't even pay people to live with me!" She would swing her sword downwards towards Ladybug.
This time, however Marinette would counter, in one swift Motion, she avoiding the attack leaping behind Chrysalis. "So that's it, that's why you hate me so much, you're jealous, aren't you?"
As Chrysalis turned to face her, the expression behind her mask told her she was right. "You… don't know what you're talking about." She'd attempt to punch Marinette, who stepped back to avoid the attack.
"You think I want a life like yours? I don't need it!" Ladybug would avoid another few attacks. "Everything i have I've struggled for, you wouldn't have survived with my lot in life!"
"But you don't have anything." Marinette countered. Finally striking back, grabbing Chrysalis's arm with the string of her yo-yo. "That's why you lie. Your life is empty, so you pretend. You're-"
She was again cut off by a kick to the mid section, winding her and forcing her to let go. "Did that feel pretend!?"
"You've got power sure" Ladybug got up with one hand on her stomach. She was trying not to show it, but that had hurt. "But take that away, and what else is there?" She would grab Chrysalis's wirst when she attempted to punch her.
"Take my miraculous, I've still got my friends, my parents, and Adrien, a promising future in the fashion industry." As she spoke, she would move to restrain Chrysalis holding her hands behind her back. "Take away yours, and there's nothing else. You don't even have a name" She would tie her hands before doing just that, taking the broach from Chrysalis or whoever She was without it.
The Nameless girl couldn't say anything. Marinette had beaten her, she'd completely lost this battle, and what was left of her? "How, How can you see through me?" She would ask as her transformation dropped.
"Dammit! Dammit! Dammit! Dammit!" The girl would thrash around attempting to free herself before falling on her face. "Of all people, you just had to be the one? Didn't you, Marinette?" She looked up at Ladybug.
The Butterfly Miraculous would vanish from Ladybugs' hand, prompting the girl to laugh. "Looks like she was spying on me after all, I had my suspicions she was."
There was a moment of surprise before Marinette mumbled to herself "So that's why you went after Miss Hound."
"The other miraculous are with Tomeo Tsurugi, aren't they?"
"Oh, I don't know, I think so. She never told me her name." Her tone made it clear she wasn't going to be much help.
Giving up on questioning her for now, she'd drag her over to a cupboard before locking her in. She couldn't be dealing with this. She had to help Chat Noir, who knew what Tomoe had planned.
"Really, do I have to do everything myself?" Tomeo complained under her breath as she pinned the broach to her shirt before putting on the necklace and sliding the ring onto her thumb.
"Nooroo, Orikko, Barkk, unify" She would blink once or twice as her vision returned to her, it was still strange to her that these jewels could restore her vision, but that didn't change what she intended to do once she had her wish.
