Lyme Lachlan's Diary, Entry for 20th June, ADD 44 (2244)

Today was really fun. Matty and I went to the City Center, where all the important stuff is. She showed me all the goverment buildings and even President Snow's mansin! We didn't get to go in but we stood outside the gates and watched. Then she took me to this seafood restaurant and we had mussels. They were really gross so Matty ended up eating most of them. She let me get a chocolate cheesecake afterwards, though.

We had to go back to the Tribute Building after that. They showed us the scores everyone got. Gina got a ten and Rocky got a nine. Gina was very mad because she wanted a twelve but she didn't get one. Matty and Torrent had to make her calm down. The escort Cornelius was so scared that he hid in the bathroom.

But the bestest part of today was when Matty took me out for milkshakes! We went to Milly's Magical Milkshakes, which everyone always says has the very best milkshakes in the whole wide world! I've always begged for Mom to take me but she never wanted to go because she hates milkshakes. Getting to go was a dream come true!

The waitress gave us the best seats in the house. I got a jumbo chocolate milkshake (which is the biggest one you can order) and Matty got strawberry, which I thought was lame but I didn't tell her that.

And they carried it out to me and it was so big the waitress had to carry it with both hands! The glass was taller than my head! And it was full of cream and sprinkles and cherries and chocolate and it was all so delicious!

Matty was smiling at me the whole time, which is something she doesn't do much. I asked her why she was smiling, and she said that it's because I make her happy! I said that she makes me happy too and that she's my best friend!

She was still smiling really wide, but she also looked kinda sad too. I asked her what was wrong and she told me it was nothing. I hope she was feeling okay.

But anyway, that was an awesome milkshake and Matty said that she might take me there again before we go back home! Yayyyyy! I can't wait!

The Official Hunger Games Betting Forum, Post 4,367 - 22nd June, ADD 44 (2244)

[Mod]Chylms: The Hunger Games have officially begun! With the bloodbath now over, we have opened this thread to discuss the betting! Whether you lost your bet, or are still awaiting results, or even thinking of betting on someone else entirely, here's the place to discuss it!

Gold-Paint-Shoot: NOOOOO! FUCK ME I SHOULDNT HAVE BET ON THAT STUPID BITCH FROM SEVEN!

elmierda: haha shame

Corioloser_Snow: Why are you shaming them? That Twelve boy you bet on died too, in case you've forgotten.

elmierda: eh, whatever. I only bet like ten bucks on them. Ain't no skin off my back.

asdf: i sure wish i had your attitude. i bet fifty that the ten pair would survive the first three days, and theyre both dead now. fml

BitchyMcBitchFace: Am I the only one here who hasn't lost yet? :)

basementdweller: No you're not. Also you're not special just because you bet on the One pair. That's literally one of the most popular bets every single year. If anything, you're just yet another basic bitch who thinks that she's smart and good at gambling if she wins anything. This is District fucking One we're talking about. They're one of the best-performing districts in the entire country. So let me tell you something, bitch. You're not special. You're not smart. You're not even lucky. You just go for the safest option. You don't know what it's really like to pour endless amounts of blood, sweat and tears into doing the most thorough research possible so you win something back. You don't understand the crushing defeat that hits you when you can't even buy yourself a drink with your winnings. That is, if you've even won something at all. So go run along now, go back to the mall or whatever. Leave this space for those who can truly appreciate it.

12D3: wft mate chill? They literally just made a simple comment?

basementdweller: Yeah. The most basic comment anyone could make, which actually just proves my point even more.

[Mod]Chylms: basementdweller, this is your last and final warning. Set one tie out of line, and you'll receive a permanent ban. Please adhere to the rules and guidelines.

BitchyMcBitchFace: Also, I didn't bet on One. I bet on Three :)))))

Excerpt from page 25 of the novel We Met At the Poolside by Kevelina Dayblossom

I stir the coffee carefully, then carry the mugs into the drawing room, where Shantae is sitting on the window seat. She takes her mug gratefully and we both sip as we watch the rain trickle down the window.

"So, did you have fun at the party?" she asks me.

My cheeks start to burn a little as I stammer, "Yeah, I did."

Shantae smirks at me. "So, who was it?"

"W-what do you mean?"

"Who did you fuck?"

My eyes fly open in surprise. "How did you-"

Shantae laughs. "Girl, you were practically glowing after you came back from the pool! Also, I could smell it on you."

I hold my breath as my mind wanders back to the night of the party. Did everyone there know about...it?

"So, who was it? Spill the tea!" Shantae nudges me. "Was he any good?"

My face must surely be as red as the Mackrain Bloodbook. But nevertheless, I'd better tell her. Shantae has an annoying habit of digging up any dirt she can find, and she will stop at nothing. It's better to tell her right off and minimize the potential damage.

"Well, he was very tall, dark and handsome," I say. Shantae looks at me with wide, excited eyes. She's eating all of this up. "And he had a voice like melted chocolate...and he was very good! We did on Beezie's favourite lounger. Please don't tell her that."

"My lips are sealed." Shantae moved her pinched fingers across her mouth. "But you still haven't told me the most important question: who was it?"

"Well, you see, I didn't actually get his name. And I've never seen him before. I think he might be one of Beezie's friends?"

Shantae raises an eyebrow. "Do you remember what he looked like?"

I describe him, right down to the most minute details. Shantae listens intensely, but as I keep going her face starts to look more and more horrified. She claps her hands over her mouth. I trail off as I start to get scared. Shantae knows everyone, and everything about them. She must know who I'm talking about.

He must be a criminal! That's the only explanation for her reaction. I slept with a criminal! I let him do all sorts of things to me!

But her response catches me completely off guard.

"I have no idea who that was."

HIT AND RUN LEAVES NEIGHBOURHOOD STUNNED

A young man was struck by a vehicle outside his house on Rosen Street last night. The man was walking home at approximately eleven o'clock when the vehicle drove onto the curb and rammed into him before immediately fleeing the scene.

The incident was witnessed by a neighbour, who described the car as a bright red vintage 2177 Meteor Carpella. Peacekeepers are urging citizens to keep a lookout for the car, and to report any suspicious activity occurring around that time. They are also reminding people to be very careful when walking home at night.

The victim, whose identity has been withheld at his family's request, was transported to the Parkan Memorial Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
