The supersonic booms of flesh hitting the ground clapped against her ears, the rush of wind caressed her disheveled hair like a mother's hand.

Sakura Haruno was carrying out poetic justice.

It wasn't a fair fight.

Sasuke had spent the last three hours fighting all five Kage, his chakra levels were low and he used up all his ocular prowess, it was only through straining he was able to form his incomplete Susanoo with its arm. But in the face of Sakura's almighty fists packed full of refined chakra, it crunched, splintered and shattered under her.

If you asked Tamako, she would agree that Sasuke deserved this.

His lack of responsibility had led him to abandon the entirety of Taka, leaving them for dead and quite literally about to kill the one that helped him the most today. Karin was a godsend, the only reason why he had enough strength to face Danzo. She shared her chakra, and he used her like a battery. Taking her in, depleting her and now about to dispose of her.

He undoubtedly used Tamako's own love for himself to his advantage, relying on her to get him out of sticky situations, using her as a literal meat shield. She'd saved him so many times, expended all of her chakra and he dared to question if she'll stop him. Because he knew, that she both emotionally and physically couldn't, because she placed him higher on priority than Karin.

Tamako was honestly incredibly surprised that Sasuke even knew what Sakura was up to. In her mind, he was so far gone that maybe he may have forgotten about her, but he remembered the detail of her being a skilled Iryō Ninja. Why was he so willing to kill her after probing her supposed loyalty? He knew she was lying yet he played her so easily

Was he angry that even she had plotted to kill him?

Tamako was now angry at Sasuke for being angry.

How stupid could he be?

From Tamako's short time with Team 7, it was almost so easily noticeable that Sasuke had a soft spot for the kunoichi. He cared about her, his eyes always flickered towards her during fights and Sakura herself always prioritized his wellbeing, no matter what.

Was he hurt that she switched up? It was almost ironic that he wanted Sakura to stay the same despite him changing in so many deranged ways.

Sasuke, you can't treat people like this. Expecting them to give themselves all, abusing them at whim once they've reached their limit and become useless. Would she be next?

Her heart burns.

Itachi would know what to do. She needed to see Itachi.

From all her time scheming, planning and working herself to the bone, she felt like she was about to crack. Her body has failed her, soon her mind will too. She almost forgot, no matter how much she rages that children are suffering under the mismanagement of adults, she's also just a teen. Scheming against the world.

One particular heel kick sent Sasuke flying into the water, he spluttered against the water and his Susanoo all damaged and barely kept its form. There were tears streaming past Sakura's cheeks, flying in the air at each punch and kick and Sasuke took it, his Susanoo so battered it was a miracle he was still up.

From the dull way his Sharingan shined, she could tell he was near blind.

He pulsed out chakra that pushed the Pinkette back, his Susanoo groaned as the bone repaired, strands of muscles wrapped around as skin enveloped its whole. It pulled out its crossbow and shot, aiming at the girl.

She flew in the air, twirling her body and just barely dodging the arrow and swung her fist. The impact pushed Sasuke against the bottom of the bridge, completely shattering it behind him as an ugly grin festered on his face.

"You've gotten strong, Sakura." He clenched the side of his face, almost as if he wanted to claw his eye out. "Yet you're still a crybaby." He mocked, "You all must be laughing. Chuckling like nothing has happened, your laughing voices sound like contempt in the face of Itachi's sacrifice!"

Sasuke's Susanoo grew even larger, taking its next form just shy from a perfect Susanoo. Tamako couldn't believe it, he'd developed his Sharingan this far in just a single day. Bitterly she mused, at the cost of his sanity.

There's cold dread in her body because she let this happen, all so he could defend himself against Madara in the future. This suffering and maniacal thoughts, she ought to apologize to him. To Sakura, to Naruto.

To everyone.

But she still held bitterness in her heart, his words to her cutting deeply, of course you wouldn't. You said you'll be there, no matter what.

Just as quickly as he unlocked the new Susanoo form, it receded back to the rudimentary form. He grabbed his face in agony, nearly falling to his knees while panting. "Damn it!"

His eyes were so gray, no longer their bottomless black. He must be seeing blurs of color.

At that moment, where his Susanoo flickered from existence, Sakura pulled out a kunai, drenched in a liquid her skill couldn't ascertain. She created a water bunshin and switched places, appearing behind Sasuke and poised it at his clan symbol. Tears ran rampant, tracked through her face and dripped onto Sasuke's clothes.

He turned around to grab her, and she dropped the kunai, whiplashing the offending arm away and backflipped.

Sakura couldn't do it.

At that moment, both Naruto and Kakashi appeared in front of her, their arms raised defensively and blocking Sasuke's view from her, if he could see that is. Tamako dove down and landed on the water lightly, standing just slightly in front of the boy and ready to defend him.

With what exactly? She gingerly pulled out a kunai from her pouch and clenched it between her fingers.

She wouldn't be able to take on both Naruto, Kakashi and Sakura like this, not without her chakra. Where the hell was Tobito!?

"Naruto, Kakashi..!" Sasuke growled, grabbed the back of her cloak and pulled. She unceremoniously fell on her behind, grabbing the collar of her cloak that choked her. "I'll show you what a first rate Sharingan fares against your third-rate borrowed one!"

"Sasuke, stop!" Her voice echoed in the field, loud with a hint of desperation. "Haven't we done enough already?"

"That's right, Sasuke." Naruto stood up, his forehead devoid of his hitai-ate. He spoke gravely with disappointment, his usually bright cerulean eyes seemed dull with dark eyebags. "You really tried to kill Sakura-chan, a fellow shinobi from Team 7."

"Was a fellow shinobi. I no longer belong."

"We've already proven our strength with the Gokage and Danzo, isn't this enough?" She asked, rising to her feet and staring down the now reunited Dai-nana-han. "You've showed them your intent to kill, that you're different now. Not the same person as before."

She nodded at Kakashi just a minuscule amount, hoping he got her message. Sasuke was all too blind to even notice. He titled his head to the side, waiting for his former cell-members to respond.

"Sasuke." Naruto walked forward and stopped just in front of Kakashi. "I heard the truth about Itachi from a guy named Tobi." He paused and closed his eyes, turning his head to the side as his face pinched, "I don't know for sure if what he said is really true or not. But it doesn't matter. What you're doing now... is understandable."

Tamako's eyes widened. Naruto.. understood?

Naruto, who hated killing, loved his brother, loved Kakashi and loved Sakura. He understood why Sasuke was rampaging with murder?

Sasuke didn't take it well, his hands welling into a fist and his face pinching forward, "Naruto... I told you before. You don't have parents or siblings, so you couldn't possibly understand me."

Tamako shot a look at the boy, almost hurt at his words.

"So outsiders like you can keep their mouth shut!"

For the first time, Tamako almost resonated with Naruto. It was almost shameful how the two picked the worst person to love like a brother. Who pushed away relationships and desperately held onto a memory of the past, and to avenge it.

Oh god, how did Itachi handle this? How would he handle this?

There's silent tears running past her cheek, her emotional wellbeing now hitting its breaking point. She couldn't control the tears, but they fell without sniffles or sputtering noises. Silent.

Sakura narrowed her eyes and swung an arm forward, "Do you know what Naruto has gone through for you!?" She paused to glance at the girl by his side and shook her head, "What they've both gone through for you, Sasuke!? No matter what rumors we heard about you, Naruto never stopped thinking of you as a friend— as a brother!"

"Brother..?" Sasuke glanced at the lake beneath his feet, "I only had one brother. And now I live to avenge him."

"I swear." Naruto looked up with such bright eyes like he knew he could do it. She couldn't understand where Naruto found this conviction and Sasuke was almost lucky to have someone like Naruto always on his side, even if it meant they'll try to kill each other. "I'll save you from the chaos of vengeance."

Sasuke huffed, smirking as his eyes dulled further into gray, "There's no need for that. The stage has already been set for my vengeance to happen!" Team 7 flinched, their eyes wide. "Just a while ago, I finally got to take revenge on one of Itachi's enemies." He flexed his fingers as if remembering the feeling of his chokuto slicing through Danzo, his Chidori Stream drilling a hole into both Danzo and Karin simultaneously. "I killed a high-ranking elder of Konoha. Someone named Danzo." He ignored his former-teammates wide shaking eyes, raising his arms to his side with a smirk, "I've never felt like this before. I feel the tainted Uchiha name becoming cleaned. I feel the Uchiha getting free from this rotting Shinobi World."

He paused for a moment to finally try to glimpse at them, "You guys couldn't begin to understand. I'm doing exactly what Konoha wanted all along. You've always snubbed and put down the Uchiha, so I'll erase the Uchiha from your memories! I'm going to kill all of you, and destroy Konoha!"

She grabbed Sasuke by the collar but he shrugged her off with a violent jerk, "Severing all bonds to Konoha, that shall lead to the Uchiha's true restoration!"

Tamako grabbed his collar even tighter, ignoring the pouring tears from her eyes. After all, Sasuke was also a victim to the times. "Stop," She pleaded.

Kakashi blocked Naruto and his newly formed clone, his Sharingan twisting into its Mangekyou form. "This is my task."

Sasuke's fingers flexed one last time, Chidori enveloping his hand and he took a step forward. Tamako fingers clenched at his collar before snapping, "Karin may have healed your body, but you cannot handle another battle."

"Shut up! Don't make me deal with you the same way I did with Karin!" He swung his Chidori infested hand to the side, Tamako barely lunging to the ground to dodge before rolling onto the water a feet feet back. Her cloak was damp and weighing her door, hair clung to her face in unflattering ways but nothing could beat the continuous chill that rose from her spine the past few hours.

He'd never tried to kill her before, not intentionally without thought. She felt her mind break. With robot motions, she shoved off her Akatsuki cloak and let it drown in the water below her.

Sasuke dashed forward and met Naruto's Rasengan point blank, the two powers clashed into eye-piercing bright light before it rebounded, sending both shinobi cratering to the other side.

Sakura lunged in the air and caught her teammate, with Tamako cushioning Sasuke's fall. She dropped him plainly on the ground, not caring if he was suddenly doused in water before eyeing the white Zetsu that popped from the nearby cliff.

"Zetsu, can you call Madara-sama? I don't think I can..." She trailed off at his blank malformed smile, a swirl of chakra enveloped the area beside her that Tobito soon took over.

His voice was overbearingly upset. "What's going on? I told you to take him home and rest."

"The Kyuubi intervened." She softly spoke, finally kneeling on the ground. It was a miracle she was standing and coherent.

"It seems that Sasuke can't restrain himself when the two get together." He chuckled darkly, "I'll arrange a proper place for you to hunt the Nine-Tails. For now, we retreat."

This was the only time a sigh of relief left her lips by Tobito's words.

"I'll fight in your steed, we need the Kyuubi anyways." Zetsu tilted to the side in a grotesque manner with more of his clones rising from the ground in the same manner

Tobito sighed and shook his head, "Zetsu, you cannot handle the Kyuubi. He's too much for a non-combat type like you. I'm going to let Sasuke deal with the Kyuubi. It's for my own enjoyment as well."

Tamako almost forgot what a bastard Obito was too.

Naruto walked forward despite the protest of his two teammates, placing a palm over his heart with closed eyes. "Sasuke, do you remember what you said in the Valley of End? The thing about two first-class shinobi!" Then, his voice lowered to a rasp, "By sharing blows and hits, we've learned much about each other... It means we became first class shinobi. Both you and I." He closed his eyes. "Did you see what... what inside of my heart? And you saw it, didn't you?" He opened them again, his arm falling to his side. "You know, don't you. That if you and I fight, we will both die. Save your hatred until our battle, throw all your hatred onto me. Only I can fulfill that duty! And on that day..."

Sasuke's jaws tighten, teeth clenched, but Naruto still continued.

"Then, I will carry the burden of your hatred.

And die with you."

Chilling atmosphere devoured the area.

With a clenched jaw and hands balled into a fist, "... What is with you, Naruto? Just what the hell do you want?! Why are you so fixated on me?

Naruto's eyes flickered to his, a grin forming, "Because I'm your friend."

Then it was silent. The slightest drop of water echoed in the valley.

Naruto raised a fist towards Sasuke with a massive exuberant grin, "Exchanging fists is how we understand each other, that's for sure. Like I said before, it means we've become high-level shinobi. I'm not giving up yet. I'm taking you back to Konoha! That's something I'll never give up on, dattebayo!"

His tic almost ruined the moment, it so easily snapped her out of his conviction to remember just how down-to-earth and pure Naruto was. Sasuke was lucky to have him as a teammate, to have Team 7 have so much love for something like him.

"Heh." Naruto chuckled and closed his eyes, his arms wrapping behind his head with a sheepish expression. "Well, I've rambled on enough. Dammit, a poor talker like me lecturing you, it's not my style."

"Tch, Sasuke. Let's get a move on." Obito familiar chakra devoured the area and entered the remaining Akatsuki members and teleported back to one of the last remaining hideouts. It was the hideout from last time, the one built using the massive skeleton of perhaps a large summon. They walk inside the dark dreary cave unsettled her, no doubt Tobito had discovered Danzo's body lacking a particular Sharingan.

"Madara." Sasuke spoke, his eyes so gray it almost resembled the Hyuuga white. "I want Itachi's eyes." His eye twitched and his hand shot to his head, clutching as he fought the urge to claw it out.

"It's the perfect time. I'm aware that you can barely see."

"Give them to Tamako and she'll transplant them right away."

The girl trailed behind the two Uchihas calmly, her eyes trained on Tobito in case he gave off any signs he was on to her.

He sighed, "You're in a hurry. What's going on?"

"I'm going to use every ounce of my strength to crush Naruto. I'll eradicate him completely! That's all."

The man heavily sighed, turning on his heel to open a hidden entrance within the hallway. It lead to an atrocious room, lined with Sharingans in a chakra infused water. There were so many, over two-hundred in just this one section.

She felt green.

"Lay down."

Sasuke walked up to the stone examination table and took off his shirt, his hair still wild and face battered. There was still dry blood crusting his cheeks and lips. "Sasuke, you understand, don't you? As much as you trust Tamako... she isn't of Uchiha."

Sasuke narrowed his eyes and growled, "Only she can do the procedure."

Slowly, Tobito handed her the familiar jar she sealed herself, the eyeballs floating within the solution and still activated. They looked undamaged compared to the Sharingan's floating behind her. Gingerly, she took the jar and took note of the seal.

"This looks sealed. It could explode if someone forcefully tried to open it."

Tobito took a few steps back, "I know. That Itachi... still planning even in his death. You are well-versed in seals, aren't you?"

Tamako slowly nodded back, peering at her own handwriting before glancing at Sasuke. "It needs Sasuke's blood, his chakra and his voice. A word of consent should do it." Sasuke bit his thumb and swiped down at the top, fingers coated in chakra as he verbally spoke in confirmation.

Slowly, the paper disintegrated into dust, and she opened the jar with sanitized hands. Her chakra finally came back, but she was only able to access a small portion, just enough for the procedure.

"I will watch." Tobito's eyes gleamed in the dark corner. "Don't try anything funny."

Tamako bit her lip to stop herself from replying with something snarky. "Of course not." She set the jar to the side and pried Sasuke's eye lids open. "I know my loyalties." And plunged down. It was the second time today that she wrapped her chakra coated fingers into someone's eyelids, plunging them down to grasp onto the slimy eyeball. Her chakra stuck onto the sphere and she pulled slightly, slicing Sasuke's nerves and numbed as she went.

The dark eye, now a little pale, seemed to squirm in her fingers. With her other hand, she grabbed an eye from the jar before pushing it between Sasuke's eyelids. The feeling felt as grotesque as it looked, but she practiced this before. Each nerve, chakra pathway and muscle fused correctly, it was almost as if putting a puzzle back together. It fit perfectly like this is how it was meant to be.

Sasuke's socket greedily took the eyeball, and she dropped his old eye into the jar and reached for the next one and repeated the process. Her hands felt sticky and wet at the end, the bulb of chakra coating her hands to prevent infections finally receded and in a blink, the jar that once held Itachi's eye, now with Sasuke, resealed.

Tobito lunged forward and grabbed the jar between her hands and knocked her back into the wall. With a cough, she spat out blood and fell to the ground, rubble falling into her hair. "What did you do? Did you reseal them?"

"N-no... there was a secondary seal at the bottom that I didn't catch." Her arms struggled to hold herself and her mind slowly fading away.

This was too much.

"I see." He growled in anger and placed the jar back on the table. "Take care of Sasuke. I will be back." His cloak ruffled from his tight turn and he faded from existence using Kamui.

Slowly, Tamako crawled back to the table and used it to hold her weight and landed back on her feet. "It'll take time for you to become accustomed to the eyes." She grabbed the jar and handed it to him. "Keep this safe." Then, she grabbed a spool of bandages and wrapped it around his eyes tightly, her fingers brushed his dusty hair and she leaned closer to wipe his face.

"This.. feels right. I can feel Itachi's ocular powers. I can feel myself getting stronger..!"

"Sure, sure." Tamako absentmindedly replied, watching a preview of a memory happening just right outside the hideout. It was Kabuto.

Then she realized what was happening. He was about to show off his Edo Tensei of Akatsuki to Tobito, but half of the members weren't actually dead..!

"Now that you have Itachi's eyes, we are done." She says calmly.

For once, Sasuke's face is pinched in confusion. "What do you mean done? We're just getting started. After I recover, we'll head to Konoha and—"

She cuts him off, "—Sasuke. You and me? Our little friendship? It's over."

He paused, mouthing opening and closing like a gaping fish before he grit his teeth. "What? You said you'll follow through, are you taking your words back?" He chuckled and shook his head, "No, no you wouldn't." He sneered at her with a vindictive look, "Your twisted morals made you feel responsible for me. You think you helped me plunge into this darkness that I was already in, that you think you helped me kill Itachi. That's why you care for me, use yourself to the thinnest in my cause. Your warped ideals of camaraderie—"

Tamako steps forward and slaps him. It echoes in the dark room and his face is smacked to the side, all red.

"Bastard." She growls, wiping her tears that he couldn't see. "I made that promise to Uchiha Sasuke of three years ago. I followed that promise to Sasuke until today, but I've realized the same Uchiha Sasuke that I promised to, is no longer here."

His head slowly turned back to her voice.

"Why do you think I infiltrated the Akatsuki? For you?" She shook her head, "I fed you information for the past three years, I've protected you from people who want to kill you, I've taken so much chakra supplements that I nearly got a heart attack. What do you do? You follow Danzo like a predator chasing his prey. You've abandoned Suigetsu and Jugo, tried to kill Karin then tried to kill Sakura. What happened to the Sasuke during Hachibi? What happened to the Sasuke three years ago?"

Sasuke spat out with venom, "He's dead! When Itachi died, I also died!"

"You are lost!" She shouts, her voice almost in a shrill. "You protected Karin during the Hachibi fight despite almost passing out, you've relied on Jugo and Suigetsu to—"

"—I don't need them! Don't you see!? I'm more powerful now, and I don't need their help. Matter of fact, I don't need you!"

"Is that so?" She replied dryly. "I see." She pivots on her heel and walks towards the door, her footsteps echoing. "Don't show up in front of me until you've found yourself." She turns her head to memorize this Sasuke in front of her. Eyes bound, heaving on the stone examination room fresh from her last gift. His fingers are clenched around a jar that she'd painstakingly protected for him, so that Tobito couldn't tamper. "Only then you'll see the extent that I sacrificed for you." With one last sigh, she spoke out in a whisper, " Now I know what Naruto feels."

She flickered away before she could hear his response, tears pooling in her eyes and ran past her cheeks. What an absolute bastard, but she couldn't hate him. His hate was molded by this Shinobi World. If it was one thing she could agree with the Sasuke of today, is how ugly the Shinobi World truly is.

She runs off into the trees, watching Kabuto finally summon his Edo Tensei casket that revealed Nagato, Hidan, Kakazu, Lady Chiyo and Shisui with her network.

"Are you surprised, Tobi?" Kabuto's slimy voice uttered out, his large tongue slithering in and out his mouth. "I was too, you know. No matter how many times I tried to summon Deidara, Sasori and Itachi, I kept getting someone else."

Tobito froze, his mind running miles a second before his eyes narrowed. "Tamako." He growled out.

Kabuto laughed in the air, patting the casket, "That's right. Your most loyal Akatsuki whom lasted this long. I'm surprised you haven't made this connection yet. Every time a member died, she was always nearby. I guess little Tamako didn't care too much of the Zombie Duos."

She increased her speed back towards her base, they won't catch her anytime soon. By the time Tobito and Zetsu collectively try to find her, she'll be long gone from Waterfall and deep into Fire.

. . .

Tamako almost burst into tears at the sight of Itachi, who calmly relaxed on the tatami she had installed with a clone just a weeks ago. There was a bowl of fruit on the low table where he snacked from.

"Ah. I was wondering when you were going to stop by." He spoke softly, placing his bowl of fruit to the side.

"Itachi." She grinned, wiping her eyes with her oversized sleeve, "It's good to see you. She sat on the other side of the low table, using a cushion against the tatami. "It was successful, are you rested enough to handle surgery?"

He nodded, "I feel like I'm thirteen again. There is no pain, no heaviness."

She smiled and placed a hand on his shoulder, "I'm so glad." Then she plopped onto the tatami with her full body. "We can do it tomorrow. For now... I need to rest."

And out like a light she was.

By the time she had reawaken, there was a blanket draped on her prone form, Itachi resting beside her with a pillow propping his face.

It was nice to wake up to a handsome face.

Blearily, she rubbed her eyes and yawned, summoning her status window to check the time and squinted at the bright words.

"Are you awake?"

He grunted back.

"Then let's do it. Now."

Her fingers coated in chakra once again, extracting the eye from her inventory and waited for the man to position himself more comfortably. Then, he unraveled the bandages from his eyes and she pried his sockets open.

For the third time, she coaxed the eye slide right back in, and just like with Sasuke, the nerves, muscles and chakra pathways connected as if it were a puzzle. It fit perfectly, her chakra being guided to heal and she finally withdrew her hand. In another jar that Itachi had placed earlier, rested the fully activated form of Shisui's eye. She twisted the jar open and plunged her sterile fingers into the cold chakra bath, fingers wet from the liquid and pried his other socket open.

Humming softly, she spoke while sliding the eye in. "I saw Kabuto today..." She trailed off, eyes trained at her movements as she carefully patched them together. "He tried to summon all the former Akatsuki, you know. Obito knows you're alive."

Itachi frowned, his mouth pulling together, "Is Sasuke okay?"

She nodded before realizing he couldn't see and verbally replied. "Yes. He's powerful now, able to summon the Susanoo's weapon." Her voice wavered at the end, her cold fingers pulling away from his face before placing a palm over his two eyes and pushed out waves of calming medical ninjutsu through his head.

Itachi groaned a bit, eyes fluttering at the feeling. "He hurt you." He said with such conviction.

Tamako sighed, "...yes."

"I'm sorry."

"It's not your fault." She said softly, "Sasuke is the byproduct of this Shinobi World. It's not his fault either."

[+10 Relationship With Uchiha Itachi!]

There is a moment of silence as she continues to stream the calming chakra, introducing his chakra to the eyes in a slow controlled manner. "You are kinder than you admit."

Tamako shrugs, "Perhaps." There's a feeling of ugly in her, because she's not kind. Not like Naruto who believed with absolute conviction but more like Tamako. Her. She knew what Sasuke was going through, hell, she caused some of his pain but she could've easily helped him.

"It's not your fault either."

Tears welled in her eyes, "It feels like it. How do you... deal with it?"

She shouldn't be crying. She wasn't Itachi who murdered his parents, who tortured his eight year old brother in a genjutsu. She didn't reunify with her beloved brother, only to send him into another torture after four years of no contact. She feels a hand reach up to her wrist, wrapping around them. In surprise, Tamako stops flowing medical ninjutsu and Itachi pulls her wrist to the side. Slowly, his eyes open and there's the smallest hints of wetness to them. Gleamed almost.

"Because I know that this will make Sasuke strong enough to defend himself. Even if I wasn't around."

Her eyes widened before they wobbled, her mouth trembled into a large grin and her eyes crescenting with a tear running past. "You're too good for Sasuke, you know?"
