Bell and Peter were sitting atop a rooftop, a pizza box between them. The building was up high enough to where no one would see their faces if they had their masks off. It was also currently the weekend, so Bell was off from school.

"Your web swinging is getting better," Peter said, taking a bite out of his slice.

Bell swallowed his taking a sip of water. "Yeah, I don't feel as stiff as when I first started."

Peter nodded his head. "You're also not slamming into any buildings this time."

Bell scoffed. "No idea what you're talking about. That never happened."

"Mayday play the clip," Peter ordered.

"Right away, sir."

A small holographic screen appeared in front of the two. A video of Bell and Peter swinging through the city was playing. After a few seconds, it showed Bell slamming face-first into a wall and sliding down. After the clip was done, the screen disappeared.

Bell crossed his arms and looked away. "That's obviously photoshopped."

Peter laughed. "Alright, whatever you say, Bell."

Bell rolled his eyes and grabbed another slice of pizza. "So, how's Aunt May doing over at F.E.A.S.T."

Peter set his slice down and took a sip of his water. "She's doing good. She's wondering when you're gonna come back."

Hearing this, Bell folded in on himself a little. "I-I don't know. I haven't been there since. Well, you know what happened."

Peter put a hand on Bell's shoulder. "Do you want to talk about it"

Bell shook his head. "Not really, no."

Peter gave him a comforting squeeze. "Alright, but trust me, it's best not to bottle it up."

Bell nodded his head. "I just try and forget what happened. Or move on, so to speak."

Peter was worried about this comment but didn't feel as if it was his place to but in. This was a family matter, and Peter wasn't family.

Peter finding a way to change the subject, did so. "So, how's school going? You got any girls you're interested in."

Bell smiled and shook his head. "Nah, actually just got rejected harshly about two weeks ago now."

Peter patted him on the back. "Damn, you can not catch a break, it seems."

Bell let out a small laugh. "Eh, I kinda moved on quick. I mean, when she was harsh, I mean, like really harsh."

Peter gave Bell a worried look. "The hell did she say"

Bell took another bite of pizza. "She said why would I ever date a nerdy loser like you? You have the look of a cowardly boy who runs at the first sign of danger. At least, I think those were her words I kind of tuned her out after the first sentence."

Peter winced. "Eh, sounds bitchy. She's also wrong. You run head first into danger like a dumbass."

Bell gave him a side-eye. "Look who I have for a teacher."

Peter clicked his tongue. "Touché"

Bell looked out at the city, and he knew one thing. "Can't deny that view."

Peter looked out into the city as well. "You should see it from atop Babel."

Bell felt a shiver go down his spine. "Isn't that like above the clouds"

Peter nodded his head. "Yup. Oh, you haven't met the mayor yet, have you."

Bell shook his head. "No, but I'll know she'll be there when my dad gets sworn in as captain."

Peter gave him a smug look. "Oh, so you think your dad will pass."

Bell laughed as he finished his pizza. "I know he will. Besides, if he doesn't, he'll try again and again until he does. So what's the mayor like."

Peter finished his slice and closed the empty box. "Well, for one, she's beautiful."

Bell interrupted. "Uh oh, don't let MJ hear you say that."

Peter rolled his eyes and playfully shoved Bell. "As I was saying. She's beautiful and charming, but she's a damn good mayor."

Bell looked towards Babel Tower. The office of the mayor. "Really? I heard she just likes to fuck anything that moves."

Peter shook his head. "That's just slander by her opponents. Sure, Freya is a goddess of love and beauty, but she's also a goddess of war. But I'm getting off track. Freya has done a lot for this city since she's been in office. Lots of economic changes like lowering taxes and creating more jobs. She's even made large donations to all of our F.E.A.S.T. to keep them afloat in tough times. I can confidently say she's one of the only politicians that's for the people."

Now Peter speaking high praise of Freya didn't mean he was in love with her. He was happily married to MJ, after all. No, he just had a lot of respect for her since the two had worked together a few times. She's also made a law that keeps the cops off Spider-Man's back.

Bell finished his water bottle. "She sounds interesting. You gonna introduce me as your sidekick."

Peter stood up and put his mask on. "Maybe spider-boy. Now come on, Mayday just signaled a carjacking three blocks away."

Bell's mask formed over his face as he grabbed the trash the two had left and jumped off the roof with Peter. The two were falling until they shot webs out of their web-shooters and started swinging.

On the way to the carjacking, Bell landed on the ground and ran to a trash can, making sure not to leave a mess as he jumped back into the air and swung after Peter.

After a minute of swinging, the two spotted a car speeding down the road with cop cars chasing after it.

Peter's voice came over Bell's intercom. "You take the two in the back; I'll take the two in the front."

"Got it," Bell replied.

Bell and Peter both shot webs at the car and pulled themselves to it. They landed on the roof of the car and had to dodge a few bullets. Bell could feel his heart racing and nervous sweat building up.

One of the carjackers stuck out of the window to get a better shot. Bell quickly shot his web at the gun and pulled it away before grabbing the man by the collar and webbing him to a stoplight.

Bell jumped and stuck to the side of the car as multiple bullets were shot through the roof. Bell maneuvered himself at the window and grabbed the top of the car.

He brought his knees up and shot them through the window kicking the other guy in the face and sending him out the window. He used an impact web and stuck him to the side of a building.

"Kid, grab, grab the back now!" Peter yelled out the comms.

Bell swung to catch up to the car and shot his webs to the back of the car. He landed on the ground and pulled the tires screeching as he was pulling it to stop. Bell was able to stop the car with a lot of effort feeling the muscle strain after he was done.

The two in the front quickly got out and aimed their guns at Bell but were quickly webbed up by Peter.

He came up next to Bell and patted him on the shoulder. "Good job, kid, you stopped a carjacking all by yourself."

Bell panted, feeling his nerves calm down a little. "That was intense. I thought you said you'd take the two in front."

Peter smiled under his mask. "I know. Never said when I'd stop them. Besides, I wanted to see how well you would do when the bullets started flying. Ain't like a simple mugging, is it"

Bell shook his head, his heart racing. "It was exhilarating but scary."

Peter patted him on the back as the cops showed up. "You'll get used to it."

The two walked up to the cops, who were getting out of their cars, and approached the suspects. However, there was one cop Bell recognized, and he immediately wanted to leave.

He watched as she stepped out of the car. Her long red hair that went down to her back flowed as a gust of wind picked up. Her emerald green eyes shone in the sunlight, and her radiant smile shined twice as bright.

"Hey, I know her. Let's run," Bell panicked.

"What you mean, Alise? Oh yeah, you do know her, hey Alise," Peter called out.

"You dick," Bell groaned, feeling Peter drag him along.

Alise hearing the commotion between the two Spider-Men quirked an eyebrow as she walked over. Her navy blue cop uniform accented her curves.

"Well, I see you took on a sidekick Spider-Man" she teasingly said.

Bell was struggling to get out of Peter's grip but failed, getting dropped right in front of Alise.

Alise crouched down as she was a little taller than Bell. "So, are you spider-boy."

Bell shook his head no. He didn't know if him talking would make Alsie recognize his voice.

Alise turned to Peter with a sly smile on her face. "So, is your new sidekick scared of pretty girls."

Before Peter could make another joke at Bell's expense, Bell responded. Lucky for him, Mayday changed his voice a little bit. "When one shows up, let me know."

Alise felt as if she heard that somewhere before but decided to roll with it. "What, you don't find the Alise Lovell absolutely beautiful."

"No," was Bell's cold reply.

Alise giggled again, feeling like she's had this same conversation, before looking back at Peter. "Got a funny sidekick Spider-Man? Teach him any of your quips yet."

Peter shook his head. "No, he hasn't gone through that class yet. Well, we should be on our way. Gotta make sure the kid here gets his eight hours of sleep."

Bell glared at Peter through his mask. "It's 3:00 PM"

Peter waved him off as he got ready to swing. "And you're a teenager. You sleep all the time," he said, swinging away.

Bell shook his head and swung after Peter. "Dick"

Alise watched the two swing away, yet there was a nagging feeling she had that exact same conversation before. Oh well, she could think of it later. She had a job to do.

Again Bell and Peter were on a roof. Peter laughing while Bell glared at him.

"I hate you so much right now," Bell muttered.

"Oh, come on, it was a little funny," Peter laughed, holding his sides.

Bell felt a smile come on at Peters's laughter and tried to suppress it. "Shut up, no, it's not"

Peter kept laughing, and eventually, Bell did as well. After a minute of the two just laughing, stopping, looking at each other, and laughing again, they stopped and caught their breaths.

Bell leaned back, and his mask dematerialized, giving him a better view of the clouds floating past. "Well, there is one perk to this job. Can't deny the feeling of just watching the clouds float past."

Peter looked up at the clouds and thought Bell was right. "So, how are you liking this new Spider-Man gig."

Bell let out a deep breath as he pushed himself back up. "It's a little scary and nerve-racking, but I like it. I mean, I can sort of help my dad in a way, you know."

Peter nodded his head. "Knowing your dad, he'd want you as far away from danger like this."

Bell agreed. "Yeah, but hey, what he doesn't know right now won't hurt him. Right?"

Peter shrugged his shoulders. "Can't help you there. My parents died when I was young. But I will say that once you feel like you can tell them, you should. There's no telling what can happen."

Bell nodded his head, taking in Peter's advice. "So what is this about teaching me quips."

Peter snapped his fingers and pointed at Bell. "Well, if you're gonna be Spider-Man, you need to be funny. Sure, this is technically a job, but when you're saving people, you have to make quips to let them know they'll be alright."

"So, make jokes to put the people at ease," Bell questioned.

Peter nodded his head. "Yes, if people can hear something that'll make them laugh, they'll be less prone to freaking out."

Bell thought about what Peter said, and it made a little sense. At least to him, anyway.

"Well, then, I think your first patrol after all your training is complete. Remember, no single patrols just yet. I want to teach you everything I know before I send you out alone," Peter debriefed.

Bell smiled. "It was exhilarating, but I'm ready to learn whatever you teach me. But I do have one request."

Peter quirked an eyebrow. "Oh, what's that?"

"Is it alright if I take the next two Saturdays off? A buddy of mine asked to play a couple of games for him," Bell asked, hoping Peter said yes.

Peter nodded his head. "Sure, you're still a kid. Spider-Man doesn't need to take up all your life just yet. Just promise to keep your suit near you in case of an emergency."

Peter had been doing the Spider-Man gig for a long time. He knew that letting Bell experience the rest of his childhood would do well later down the line. However, life likes to throw curveballs, and that's why Peter said to keep his suit nearby.

Bell arrived home, landing near his house and dematerializing his suit before stepping out of the alleyway.

He put his hands in his pockets and started walking home, seeing his parent's cars in the driveway. He walked up to his front door and opened it taking his shoes off and walking into his house.

He saw his mom and dad watching tv and cuddling. He rolled his eyes at the public display of affection before walking up and standing behind them. He saw they were watching the news on tv.

"Well, that concludes that story. In other news, it appears we have a new Spider-Man, as another one was seen today with the first Spider-Man stopping a few muggings and a carjacking. That is all the information we have at this time, but it appears we have another wall-crawler in this city. This has been goddess Hestia with your daily news."

Bell's father turned the tv off and looked at his wife. "Great, another one."

Meteria gave him a soft look. "Oh, come on, sweetie, I know you don't agree with their methods, but they can help a lot of people. I mean, the first Spider-Man already has"

It was then that Bell decided to speak up. "Yeah, besides, if you try chasing the new one, you might pull a muscle."

His mother jumped a little in fright while his dad just gave him an unamused look. "You think you're funny, don't you, besides I can't even pursue them as the mayor has shown her support for Spider-Man, so nothing I can do"

His mother kissed her husband on the cheek as she got up. "Then don't worry about it. As long as they help people, they're no villains, so try and see the good in them. Now what shall we have for dinner."

.

"Are your preparations complete"

"Yes, sir, we'll hit at the black dragons in a coordinated assault. Once that's done, the eastern districts will be yours."

The man had a smile on his face as he cracked his giant knuckles. "Good, very good. Oh, and make sure to have the prowler distract Spider-Man. Tell her we'll pay her well."

"Yes, sir. But what about the other one, sir?"

"Leave him to me. I want to see what this new guy is made of."

Well, it looks like Bell did his first patrol and got some useful advice. He is slowly but surely becoming the second Spider-Man. It also seems a gang war is about to start. Will Peter and Bell be able to stop it and come out unscathed, or will the prowler take Peter down?
