"83,84,85," Bell grunted as he put the 180-pound dumbbells on the ground. Peter had given him the idea of lighting some weights to improve his super strength even more.

He was currently in Peter's gym, which was in what Bell called the spider cave. The name annoyed Peter, and Bell knew it, but Peter got Bell back by calling him spider-boy and dragging him over to Alise whenever she showed up at a crime they stopped.

However, something odd was going on. The eastern district of Orario had gone quiet. Like every criminal with a gun knew to get out of there. Only the black dragons and the king's soldiers remained.

However, nothing had happened yet. It was like the two were in a tense standoff. A powder keg ready to explode.

Bell put on a red T-shirt with black pants. His suit was on him but small enough to where no one could see it. To everyone else, it was just a black bracelet.

He walked downstairs and saw his parents eating breakfast with a plate set aside for him. He took his seat as his father drank from his coffee mug.

"So, how's your paid internship going so far, sweetie," his mother asked him. She had a proud smile on her face as her son was able to impress Peter Parker enough to get a paid internship at his company at such a young age. If she knew what he was actually doing, she'd lose her mind.

Bell ate and swallowed a piece of bacon before answering. "Oh, it's going good, mom. Mr. Parker has me as his assistant to help out with some projects."

His father set his coffee mug on the table. "How much are you getting paid at the internship anyway."

Bell had a slight smile on his face as he answered. "About 20 bucks an hour."

His dad slammed his fist on the table, causing his mother to jump in fright. "God damn, I made 7.50 an hour for my first job."

His dad then turned to his mom. "Sorry for scaring you, dear. I didn't mean to react like that."

His mother gave him a soft smile and nodded. "It's ok, sweetie. I was about to do the same. I just got a little startled, is all."

She then turned and faced Bell. "That's awfully generous of Peter to pay you that much as an intern. What exactly are you working on."

Bell shook his head. "Sorry, Mom, I can't tell you. Company secrets"

His mother shook her head in understanding.

Bell's father then got up and patted his son on the back. "Well, I'm off to work. I'm proud of you, Bell. Not a lot of kids could pull off what you did."

Bell felt a sense of pride fill his chest as his father said those words, and a goofy grin appeared on his face.

His dad then walked to his mother and gave her a goodbye kiss on the cheek. His mother had a slight smile on her face as she told his father to be safe.

A few minutes after his father left, Bell heard a knock on his door. He got up to go answer it, and when he did, Tiona and Tione were waiting there, dressed for school. They wore similar clothes to what they wore when they were here for dinner, but this time Bell didn't get as flustered by Tione.

"Come on, hurry up, Bell. I want to see what all the fuss about Orario High is about," Tiona excitedly said.

Her sister smacked her in the back of the head. "Calm down, Tiona"

She then looked at Bell and gave him a smile. "Now, if you wouldn't mind getting your shoes on.

We would like to get there early so we know where our classes our."

Bell nodded his head and told them to wait a minute. He shut the door and began to put his shoes on and say goodbye to his mom.

"Hey, sis, did Bell look taller to you," Tiona asked.

Tione nodded her head. "Yeah, he did. He also looked more muscular than last time. I know he keeps in shape, but what did he do."

As the twins were wondering about the sudden changes in Bell, they came to one conclusion. He was going through puberty.

When Bell came back outside, he looked at the two in confusion. He felt as if the two were checking him out.

"What?" He asked the two.

The twins looked at him with smug smiles on their faces. "Nothing," they both said at the same time.

Bell rolled his eyes and began to walk the school, the twins following him. Tiona was her usual bouncy self with a pep in her step. While her sister was more calm and composed.

As they were walking, however, a cop car pulled up next to them. Bell thinking it was his dad, turned to face him but was surprised when he saw Alise.

"Ah, shit, why are you here" he complained.

Alise parked the car and got out, walking to the passenger side and leaning her back on the car. "Because this is my patrol area."

Bell rolled his eyes. "Uh-huh, and you just so happened to see me walking."

Alise nodded her head, a smile on her face. "Yup, but let's change the subject, and you tell me who these two ladies are."

Alise gestured to Tiona and Tione, who were confused about the situation.

"These are two childhood friends who just moved back into town. We're heading to school early so I can show them around," Bell told her.

Alise kept leaning on her cop car. She gave Bell a smug look, but it wasn't one of malice but teasing. There was so much she could say right now to embarrass him, but she wouldn't yet. He had to get to school after all.

So she pushed herself off her car and got back in it. "Well, I'll let you go. Just stay in school."

Before Alise left, Bell asked her a question. "Hey, where's your partner? She normally keeps you calm."

Alise leaned her head down to peek out the window. "She's on vacation. She'll be back next week."

Alise had another teasing grin on her face. "Why do you miss her."

Bell nodded his head. "Yeah, cause she normally keeps you quiet, and you're more bearable that way."

Alise laughed as she said bye to Bell and drove off, continuing her patrol.

Tiona and Tione looked at Bell, confused. "Who was that," Tiona asked with a tilt of her head.

Bell pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed. "One of my dad's colleagues, he sees her as the daughter he never had, and she likes to annoy me a lot."

"Do you not like her?" Tione asked.

Bell shook his head. "No, I do. That's just how we interact with each other. Anyway, let's get going so I can show you around."

Bell waved his hand for them to follow him, and the three continued their walk to school. After another couple of minutes, they arrived at Orario High. However, the building was not as full as they had arrived early.

When they entered, all eyes were on them as Tiona and Tione were new students. Bell told them to ignore everyone as he started to show them around. He led them to the cafeteria first, as he knew Tiona liked to eat. How she kept her slim body, he had no idea, and he wasn't gonna ask.

Next, he showed them where the gym was located. He told them the P.E. teacher was a dwarf named Gareth. Bell was 90 percent sure Gareth was drunk during his class, but he was a damn good P.E. teacher, as he knew how to cater to each student's physicality.

He then showed them to the courtyard, which was an outdoorsy area with plants and grass with tables located everywhere. It was a place where students could go to eat lunch if they wanted to. He also explained that the gardening club takes care of this area and is run by a girl named Elfy. Bell thought it was an odd name for a human, but he didn't really care.

He then showed the two the fine arts wing of the school, where the drama club, orchestra, and band met up and practiced. He showed them the art room as he knew Tione liked to draw, and she was giddy seeing all the art supplies.

He showed them the football field (American football), where games are held from the end of summer to the beginning of fall. They were on every Friday. Since it was spring, there were no football games until the next semester after summer break ended.

After the tour of the downstairs, he took them upstairs and showed them the classrooms. Nothing much for him to say there, as everyone knows what a classroom is.

Hearing the bell ring Bell said goodbye to the twins as he had to get to his class. He had chemistry with Mr. Hedin as Bell took two science classes this year, and after that, he had English with Mr. Hogni.

Then lunch, and after that, Bell had two free periods to do whatever he wanted as his school only needed you to take a certain amount of classes to get enough credits to graduate. After this year, Bell would have enough credits to graduate, but he would choose not to so he could stay around his friends. Welf and Lili were currently at the trade school they had, with Welf learning mechanics under the goddess Hephaestus and Lili doing hairdressing. But since she was so short, Bell and Welf had to hold back their laughter most times whenever they saw her practice standing on a stool to reach a person's head.

After finishing his classes for the day, Bell had planned to head home to drop his stuff off and leave for Parker Industries to continue his training. When the weekend rolled around, Bell would head to Orario stadium for his soccer game. He doesn't know what Bete did to get approval to use the stadium, and he wasn't gonna ask.

However, he was stopped when he ran into Lefiya, who was also leaving for the day. The two almost bumped into each other, but Bell's spider-sense alerted him to the impact, so he stopped before running into her.

Lefiya jumped a little in fright, seeing Bell but quickly calmed down as the two felt the awkwardness.

Bell rubbed the back of his head as he spoke. "So, uh, how've you been? You, uh, get your mom that necklace."

Lefiya blushed a little at Bell, remembering that minor detail after he saved her. "Uh yeah, she liked it. Thanks again for saving me."

Bell looked away, finding eye contact too awkward. "No problem. I'm just glad you're ok now."

Lefiya looked at the ground holding her books in her hand. "Well, um, I'm sorry again for the words I said to you. It was mean, and I shouldn't have done it."

Bell waved his hand dismissively. "Eh, don't worry about it. Water under the bridge."

The two stood there in awkward silence for a minute until Lefiya asked a question that had been on her mind since Bell had saved her. "How did you know to check for a concussion."

Bell looked at her feeling some of his confidence come back. "Well, I saw you hit your head when you were pushed down. Since it hit a brick wall, I wanted to make sure you didn't have any injuries. Before you ask my moms and nurse and told me some things to look out for while I did kickboxing."

Lefiya nodded as that made sense. "Well, I better be going."

Bell nodded his head as well. "Yeah, I should get going to"

The two then walked in the same direction.

"This is so awkward," the two thought.

"Alright, rule number one of quips is they have to be so bad they're funny," Peter explained, having Bell take notes on top of a building.

Bell nodded his head as he took notes. "Wait, why do they have to be bad? How come they can't just be funny without being bad."

"Because taking time to think of funny things is hard and time-consuming," Peter replied.

Bell tilted his head in confusion. "But wouldn't making jokes so bad they're funny take up more time."

Peter shook his head. "Don't question the process. Just write notes."

Bell just nodded his head in annoyance but did as Peter asked. After the long and drawn-out process of making quips, the two went on patrol.

Swinging around the city and stopping crimes was something Bell was really starting to enjoy. He could feel himself getting faster and stronger with each patrol he went on. Peter was still showing him the ropes, of course, as this was only his seventh patrol.

However, as they were swinging around, the two noticed something, or rather someone standing on the side of a building, looking ready to jump. Without even thinking, Bell quickly shot over there, surprising Peter with his speed. Seeing as Bell took the initiative, Peter decided to hang back and only step in if the girl jumped.

Bell quietly landed next to the girl. When he looked at her, he realized she wasn't that much older than him. Maybe 16 if he were to guess. He also noticed her blonde hair and fox ears. She was a fox girl.

He could hear her sniffing, almost as if she was crying. So he slowly approached her and sat next to her.

"Um, please don't jump," Bell cautiously asked.

The girl was startled by Bell's appearance and nearly slipped but didn't. She looked at Bell with tears streaming down her face. "Why shouldn't I? My parents are dead, and the rest of my family kicked me out of my home. I'm homeless and have nowhere to go."

Bell listened to her words and felt sorry for her. "Well, I'm sorry to hear that, but this doesn't have to be the end. Just think about all the opportunities life has for one once you push past this."

Bell didn't say if you push past this because he would save this girl no matter what. Hearing his confidence that she would live girl grew a little hesitant but still was thinking of jumping.

"But I don't have anything, and whenever I asked someone for help, they pushed me aside," the girl cried.

Bell reached his hand out to the girl wanting her to take it. "But I'm here to help you now, so can you please take my hand"

The girl was again hesitant to take Bell's help. He had to have wanted something in return, right?

"I-I don't know, what if you try and do something to me? I don't really trust someone wearing a mask, you may be the second Spider-Man, but I don't trust you. What if you do something to me? I couldn't identify you," the girl said, taking a step away from Bell.

Bell could understand her hesitation. Being tossed aside like you were nothing, and whenever you asked for help, no one would help you. Then some masked stranger offers to help you, no questions asked. Sure, she knew Bell was a hero, but that doesn't mean he couldn't ask for something awful in return for his help. She wouldn't be able to identify him with the mask on, and no one would believe a homeless teenager that the younger Spider-Man tried to do things to her.

"You have my word that I won't do anything to hurt you, so please let me help you," Bell asked as he stood up, reaching out his hand to her again.

She looked at the boy in worry and confusion. Why was he trying so hard to help something like her who had nothing? She looked at his hand once again and hesitated. Does she take it, or should she just jump and end her miserable life?

"I-I'm scared," she admitted.

Bell took a step forward, his hand still outstretched. "Then let me help you not be afraid anymore."

Hearing the conviction and begging in his voice, she took a leap of faith and grabbed his hand. He pulled her to him and walked back onto the roof away from the ledge. He held her in a hug as she cried about how scared she was and how she didn't know what to do. Bell just stayed the and comforted her, not saying a word but giving her the affirmations she needed.

Peter watched the scene with a smile on his face. Bell had done well talking the girl down, and it filled him with high hopes that Bell would be a spectacular Spider-Man once he retired.

The prowler was on another building watching the two. She was trying to gather as much information as she could before the big day happened. She didn't know why her boss wanted to fight the new Spider-Man, but she got paid not to ask questions, so she didn't really care.

Bell had told Peter he was gonna take the girl somewhere he knew she would be safe. Peter let him and said after that. He would be done with patrol for the day, which Bell agreed to. So Bell held the girl, whose name he now knew was Haruhime, to a location where he knew she would get the help and care she would need.

He landed on the ground with Haruhime in his arms, holding onto him tightly. He told her she could let go now, and she did before seeing the building they were at.

Zeus and Hera's home for dislocated children

Haruhime looked nervous to walk in. "Will you come in with me? I'm scared."

Bell nodded his head as he took Haruhime's hand and walked inside the building. It was a large building with three stories. It had multiple rooms and a large cafeteria, with recreational activities and jobs that the kids here could do for some money. It was run by Bell's adoptive grandparents as they had taken in his dad when he had lost his parents to gang violence. It was that tragedy that pushed him to becoming a cop.

Bell walked into the lobby and saw the receptionist look at him in shock. She hadn't expected the new Spider-Man to come here, and not with a girl at that.

"Um, can you help her, please" he kindly asked.

The receptionist nodded and called Zeus to the lobby. Not a minute later, the god appeared, followed by the goddess Ishtar. Now contrary to what some might think, Ishtar as a cruel goddess who enjoys the suffering of others. But that wasn't the case anymore. After Zeus and Hera had shown her what she did was wrong and cruel, Ishtar had a change of heart and decided that she wanted to help people in whatever way she could from now on. Be it they used her body however they wanted or just someone to talk to. She would do it.

"Hello, young child, would you like to stay here," Zeus asked.

Haruhime looked back at Bell nervously. All Bell did was nod his head telling her to take the help. Haruhime turned back around and nodded her head at the old god.

"Ishtar, will you please take this young girl to a room? Please, I need to have a talk with Spider-Man," Zeus asked.

Ishtar nodded her head. "Of course, come with me, child. You'll be safe here."

Ishtar gestured for Haruhime to come to her, which the fox girl nervously did. After the two had left, Zeus gestured for Bell to follow him, which he did. Once they entered Zeus's office, he shut the door, then turned and smiled at Bell.

"Seems you found a stray Bell," Zeus said, a knowing smile on his face.

"How did you-

"What? You think I wouldn't recognize my own grandson? I'm a god Bell. I've lived for eons. I know my family even if they're hiding behind a mask," Zeus explained.

Bell dematerialized his mask and faced his grandpa, a nervous smile on his face. "Does grandma know to"

Zeus nodded. "She does"

"Shit," Bell cursed.

Zeus laughed and hugged his grandson, with Bell doing the same.

"Are you gonna tell my parents?" Bell asked, breaking off the hug with Zeus.

Zeus shook his head. "No, not our secret to tell. However, your grandma is quite angry at you for taking up the mantle."

Bell nervously chuckled as he rubbed the back of his head. "Yeah, I expected that"

Zeus then ruffled Bell's hair. "So tell me, what have you been up to? Been a while since you last visited. Maria and the kids miss you."

Bell felt a little guilty hearing that. "Sorry, Grandpa, just been really busy lately. Especially now since, well, you know."

Zeus knew he was referring to him being the second Spider-Man. "Well, whenever you do have some free time, swing by."

Bell rolled his eyes at the obvious pun. "I'll try Grandpa, but I should get going because my parents are going to wonder where I'm at. It's almost dinner time, after all."

Zeus nodded his head before bringing his grandson into another hug. "Alright, I won't bore you with old man talk. Now get home before your mother comes here all angry. I already have to deal with an angry Hera. I don't need to be dealing with an angry Meteria."

Bell nodded his head as his mask materialized over his face. He opened the window and jumped out, swinging from building to building on his way home.

Zeus closed the window and let out a chuckle before sitting at his desk and doing paperwork. He was proud of his grandson for becoming a hero. His grandmother, however.

"Why didn't you call me in here? I was told Bell was just here," Hera angrily asked.

Zeus felt a nervous chill go down his spine. "Sorry dear, he could only stay for a minute. He had to get home for dinner, and you and I both don't want an angry Meteria storming over here."

Hera pouted as her face paled a little but agreed with her husband in the end.

"Bullet dodged," Zeus thought.

"Prowler, report"

"It seems as if the new Spider-Man hangs around the older one, it seems as if he's being shown the ropes."

"Any other information"

"Yes, it appears that the new Spider-Man has some kind of connection to this cop right here."

A picture of Alsie in her cop uniform was put on the desk.

"Hmm, perhaps we can use her to draw him out, have the attacks happen all over the eastern district. Have them start slow at first but near the middle of our takeover, have them happen on two separate sides of the districts to split them up."

"How do you know the younger one will go to you."

"Do not worry. I have that covered.

The prowler didn't say another word and left the office. She didn't really care what happened as long as she got paid in the end.

The man looked at the picture of Alise as plans came to his mind. She would be a valuable piece of bait to lure in this new Spider-Man, and then he would see if this new spider truly had what it takes to fight the darker side of the city.

Well, it seems Bell was able to talk Haruhime down from jumping, and it appears that the dark side of Orario is about to reel its ugly head. Wonder how our hero will prevail.
