*This is ported by Wattpad, feel free to come by as I've focused on making stories there rather here*
This is it. Back at it again with another reaction, sorry for the long ass delay but its hard to do this when having studies and currently on a job hunt.
Unless I turn this into a paying gig, I may need the support... I have itself, for a cheap price. Since writing these is still a fun despite not my huge passion compare to the XZJQ series I am currently planning to write.
Once again as I will say it. Please follow my Wattpad account, or share this along reddit, vote the chapters. Along going to my discord server, I have 80 members and seeking to gain a 100 members in total.
Here is the link for the Discord: /pgTcMUhUuW
And a HUGE announcement, I am still asking for people to support me on RWBY: Remnant Series! So please, anyone passion of writing and RWBY are welcome to my server on remaking the RWBY series.
Also, I have a YouTube Channel, planning to feature a new GMOD animated series called: Chaos Chronicles, follow my channel if the first pilot episode comes!
For now... Onto the first Monsterverse aka the Iron Man of the Monster Franchise! Hope you like the changes I alter and along the characters and reactions.
Thank you SHIRO_EX_7 for bringing his RWBY OCs in this reaction. Please follow this guy, he's been a big creative help on this story.
Also the writing will be a tiny bit different than the last two reactions. Just to refresh my writing style. Seriously, you know how many times I have to re-watch movie scenes and write them in my own style!?
The audience are back again, in the lounge. Everyone is here yet again, however there are still silence about Mobius' words. Some don't have much to say, but a few others do...
"Well, guess we gotta wait for them..." Jaune muttered, as he goes for the bar... Only to see a full grown T-Rex staring at him. Seeing the full blown dinosaur appear in front of him let out a bloodcurdling girly scream.
Everyone jumped at the sudden T-Rex! "Ha! Gotcha!" The T-Rex laughed as it turns into fire, into Khaos himself.
"What is wrong with you!?" Coco yelled angrily.
"Come on..." Khaos hummed, crossing his arms playfully. "It's been a long time, since our time together." He said.
"It was just a couple of seconds, what does have to do being a long time?" Weiss questioned the entity's insanity.
"Trust me... It's been months since our appearance." Khaos fake winked at Weiss, who thinks he's even more crazier. "Well, you know the rules, I am hanging around to make sure you all have a great and fun time!" He hovers above to the ceiling, phasing through, leaving everyone at the food lounge.
...Silence occurs, as Pyrrha was with Jaune who seemed to be relaxing after his panic attack. "...So that was you doing the scream at Forest?" Yang realized upon that familiar scream at the Beacon Initiation. Only for Weiss to smack her arm upon that. "Oh, bad time to mention..."
Suddenly Mobius appeared, "Rest assure, I'll shall take care of Khaos' antics." He sighed tiredly.
"You're not gonna... Go to far?" Velvet wondered of what he's going to do.
"Even if I did, he's who he was, an entity of chaos." Mobius replied, he turns to everyone. "I'll may go restrain Khaos, while you all must remain yourselves settled until the next reality is ready." With that, he's gone with an instant.
Time passes, everyone is on their own groups and with their own tables and plates of food. Blake along with her friends resided on a table. The lounge is sure large for around 20 people. The cat ear faunus recalls how Mobius explained about how the struggle of nature towards humanity...
And Faunus. Her mind is racing by that, this Mobius mentions how the power of creation can lead to struggle. And he's not wrong... When the White Fang is created, everything went down...
"Blake?" Ruby's voice interrupted, as she turns to see her. "You okay? You haven't touch your food..." She noticed, due to her plate of food that is tuna and rice.
Nora was chewing on warm pancakes, "Yeah, keeping your food lingering that and it gets cold, and never have cold food!" She stated firmly.
"Actually... It's something about what Mobius said, how creation can lead into struggle." Blake explains to her, after all, she doesn't need to hide, not to her friends. "About Stein himself... His passion."
"The man is kind-hearted." Pyrrha nodded, "And I do not doubt that he doesn't mean well. But as he said, such power cannot be controlled under his will..." She said.
"But it's more than that, right?" Yang asked.
Blake nodded in confirmation, "It's just, I can mirror the power of creation to anything. The White Fang was created to be a peaceful organization, the one I grew up with... Seeing it collapsed reflects a lot to the White Fang that is now."
Weiss understands, "Yeah, like how my father changed the Schnee Dust Company." She replied. "It seems every intention, has a consequence."
"But we can change that right?" Sun calls out. Gaining their attentions to the monkey tail Faunus whose eating banana ice cream. "Sometimes, we got to adapted, right? Like what Jaycee guy just said."
"Dude... You might be right on this." Neptune hummed.
"Yeah." Sun admitted. "Sound a lot cooler than I thought."
Coco lightly scoffed, "Yeah." As she sips a cup of hot chocolate. "It sure does, maybe that reality will go with that adapting thing. And we should do it to."
"Doubtful..." Velvet muttered quietly, making sure Coco did not hear it.
As for the grownups, nothing is needed to say what they already thought or spoken of. Ozpin notably reminded of creation can lead to bad things or struggle. How it all leads to the past...
Is this what the Brother Gods had this feeling towards the past? He thought upon this, maybe hopefully this realty can be continue, so he can see what are Stein's next actions are.
Ironwood thought about the genius behind Stein's mind about DNA creation. But even then, it has drawbacks, though... The idea of DNA creation... He wonders does that reality's discovery ever limited to these dinosaurs?
Then finally, Cinder's group. Cinder out of the three was angered, due to Mobius' remark about the illusion of control. She knew he's talking to her, those words 'to think you have the power, but you're nothing'.
She hates it, she hates this Mobius entity. She hopes to endure this as long as possible, and hopefully the plan can carry out before they know or worse case scenario, Mobius or that stupid head Khaos tells them about everything. It could all go down, and time is limited for her mistress...
For a while, Mobius came back. "I have someone taking care of Khaos. He won't be interfering us nor anything." He stated.
"That's sound okay..." Yang is glad for this guy to not annoy, but...
"Are you sure, he's fine?" Ruby asked.
"Yes, I have another Entity taking care of him via company..." Mobius sighed, and will really owe him a favor.
"Who is the fella taking care of him?" Qrow questioned him.
"He would rather be disclosed with his identity and his role, so unfortunately you will have no answer." Qrow scoffed and sipped his flask from Mobius' response.
With that, a split second, everyone returned in the theater with their food and drinks of course. Then he started the screen, showing this third reality...
There is a montage, showing cave paintings, charts of animal evolution, old documents, and news that told of an old era that embarks the aftermath of the Great War on Remnant. An old era. Then there is the footage of people from that era, then one discovery... That is the massive dorsal fins rising above the water surface...
More footage display, video tape rolls, scientists working onto something... Boats move out, photos are taken between the soldiers and people, radio towers are built, old cameras set up.
More sightings confirm these giant spikes on the water. Swimming through the oceans, as many military men upon the naval warship with white Atlas uniforms on their chairs, putting on their goggles as many others along the cameras fixed upon the very massive being...
A voice countdown begins, as all the footage that is shown... Fixed onto that tower stand, a massive missile on top, as the countdown occurs... "Ten, nine, eight. seven, six. five, four, three, two, one."
As the 'one' brings down, on the beach... The dorsal fins rise out of the water, almost revealing its entire presence... A missile is fired, due to a split second, a massive bang. It was engulfed by a massive explosion, witnessed by all sights and perspectives.
The giant mushroom shaped cloud continues as the shockwave from the explosion blows the surroundings away by the strong massive gust of wind. Faded to white...
Interesting... They see old footage of the past Remnant, Ironwood, Glynda, Qrow, and Ozpin raised intrigue upon seeing this. However for the rest they are confused of what this reality shows... Upon the reveal of sudden dorsal fins...
"Whoa, what is that?" Sun exclaimed upon the fins.
"A massive creature..." Penny remarked in wonder, seeing it.
"And it's not a Grimm." Mobius stated, much to their surprise.
And as the scene continues on, Ironwood and Winter notice upon the Atlas Military... And notably a large missile. As the countdown begins, Ironwood was about to ask the entity what this is...
Until it detonates... They all witness the massive explosion of such power. "What... Is this?" Ironwood questioned, as he sees the explosion looks even greater than the strongest bomb in all of Remnant.
"That... Is the new addition in this reality. Nuclear Weapons." Mobius stated.
"Nuclear Weapons?" Weiss exclaimed. "It can do this!?"
Mobius nodded, "It once started with an idea, one that the man himself who made it, regretted this action." He explained. "Now this is the reality's most powerful weapons."
"...How is this nuclear being discovered?" Ironwood questioned the entity, with a stern look.
"Your world is mysterious, General, but I cannot give you the answer, since your kind and this world itself has a lot to expand, even more than you think..." Mobius assured the General, but he wasn't happy with this vague answer.
Cinder is shocked along with her crew it witness this massive wave of destruction. Mercury spoke out, "No way, that creature is gonna survive that." He remarked. But to each of everyone comes to their thoughts... What was that thing?
Back to the present, a Bullhead flies above the land of a massive forest, also known as Mistral. Inside, a man was holding a pocket watch, with similar appearance of silver hair, and brown eyes. Then another, a woman with a noticeable short stature, tan skin, and gold eyes watch the forest, then a massive land mine with a noticeable deforestation landscape.
The Bullhead landed in the middle of the site, as a group of armed Faunus were waiting by with another man wearing a tan suit. They waited until the two passengers exited their transport meeting him.
"Dr. Ozpin?" He asked, and with the man himself nodded, "Shiro Wan. I'm warning you, it's a mess. It's just a total mess." He introduces himself to Ozpin as he leads him and the lady. "Monarch sent me this morning. Took a look around, but I told them we needed you. It started when they picked up a radiation pocket out here last month. They got excited, thinking they had another rare uranium deposit. So they started stacking up the heavy machinery and then..." He leads them further and gestured at the massive sinkhole along with nearby machine vehicles and equipment all ruined. "The valley floor collapsed into a cavern below. Just dropped away, gone. Best guess right now is that about 40 miners went down with it." They now witness such a massive incident.
Inside the dark cavern, Shiro along with everyone else was wearing hazmat suits with flashlights. "This way." He guided them as he explains further, "When they first discovered this pocket, the radiation levels were only half as strong. It's almost as if contact with the outside air started catalyzing something." And just as they go further, they stop as camera flashes and flashlights shine upon them... Massive bones that look like ribs of a creature. "Now, I've been digging fossils for 30 years... Never seen anything like this before."
The short lady gasped upon this discovery, "By the Gods... Can this be... Him?" She whispered to Ozpin.
"No... This is much older." Ozpin clarified.
"Hey guys! You gotta see this." Another person calls out as they head through the ribcage... Only to see something large and mucky attached on the tip of the rib bone... As the detector is making sudden spikes due to the radiation.
"Is this...?" The lady analyzes it, much to Ozpin's shock. "It looks like some kind of egg, a dormant spore?" She assumed while looking closer. "The bones are fossilized... But this formation seems to be perfectly preserved."
Then the same worker noticed another one, only to notice... "There's a second one! But it looks broken." He pointed to another as everyone saw and saw the difference as it was ripped open unlike the other. "It's like something... Came out of it."
Ozpin was about to say something, until he noticed a faint light. Not from their sources, he walks there... Only for the light to be brighter... A massive hole opened as a Bullhead was seen in the sky, noticing the massive trail of trees and ground disrupted. It was a path, a path that led straight into the ocean...
Seeing the Bullhead, and whose inside, Qrow knows whose the man in there... "Hey. Looks like your in this world, Oz." He commented.
"It seems, and... Xanthe." Ozpin noticed the second one.
"I never thought she'll be here." Glynda added.
Coco also see Xanthe, "Eh, she's here. Though, it's weird seeing her in that... Outfit." She cringed at the sight of the basic looking outfit she has. What is this reality's fashion being generic?
Everyone noticed the massive mine, they never seen a mine area so big unlike Atlas... Blake noticed upon the landing where Faunus are here, armed, but nothing to say.
"Monarch? Uranium? Radiation?" Weiss listed out these words she never heard of.
"Hey, Mob, gonna educate us on that?" Mercury nicknamed the entity, Yang weakly chuckled by that remark.
"Radiation occurs from uranium. That is the same mineral that is use for Nuclear weapons" Mobius answers the second word.
"But why are they eager for this, despite its capabilities?" Pyrrha questioned.
"It's due to the power of this material, it can also provide supply of electricity." Mobius added.
"Even more than Dust?" Velvet asked, as Mobius nodded. "Oh..."
"This Uranium sounds risky." Fox remarked.
Then they see the destruction collapse of the mine, which shocked everyone. They kept seeing these but in a larger scale. Nothing to say much, but as soon they see the cave scene, and the massive skeleton.
"By the gods..." Winter muttered in silence.
"Those are massive bones..." Jaune paled upon seeing the size, and pointing out the obvious. Then seeing the spores... Jaune's stomach feels sick.
Emerald slightly recoil in disgust, "That is nasty." She remarked, then witnessing the later of the spore's escape, "Don't tell me... We are seeing a giant thing..." She muttered.
"It moved all the way to the ocean..." Ruby worried, as Neptune cowered by the sight of the ocean.
"These creatures, they already potentially greater than the previous reality..." Cinder whispered to herself.
Somewhere in Mistral, it was a cloudy day. And while the city is there, something notable was here, a massive structure, looking like a giant factory is stationed there.
And in the city, there is a town on the far side, and then the house. A young boy walks sneakily through the floor, dragging a birthday sign? He quietly moves and listens to a man's voice. He takes a peek to see a man with brown hair and eyes, calling upon the scroll.
"Slate. No, Slate, just hear me out for one second. I'm just asking for the meeting, because if I have to shut the reactor down, you're not going to read what's next in the memo." He spoke, then a response occurred as he continued, "Because, I've been following these tremors since at the south west of Mistral. And now they are happening in our own backyard. No, no. No. Jay says..." Paused by a mumble response as he sighed. "Look, I'm just trying to follow the protocols set forth by the company. That's all. It's my job."
While he was on call, a woman with the same traits as the kid, came up in front, "He's awake." He said.
"I know, he got up early." She complied.
"What are we gonna do?" He asked.
"Get dressed. I'll figure it out. Okay?" She assured him, the kid nodded as he walked off.
Later, the family goes out as the mother and father who are still on call get in the car while the kid heads to go. "Later Dad." He waves as his father waved back while still on call.
"Look, with all due respect." He muttered. "I'm an engineer, I don't accept unexplained frequency patterning, near a plant where I'm responsible. I need a meeting. Make it happen." He demanded.
"Bye Mom!" The kid waves to his mother as she waves back. The two get in the car as the kid heads to the school bus.
Just as the two fasten their seatbelts and the call is over. "He made you a sign." She mentioned it to him.
"Huh?" He responded.
"Your birthday sign. He worked so hard." She stated, as his eyes widened in realization before closing in regret. "So, how about this? I'm gonna come home early. I'll take the car and pick him up, and we can get a proper cake. Okay?" She suggested.
"Right." He nodded while sighing, "Listen, I need to know that I am not a maniac. It's not those sensors, so when we get there, don't even bother coming up. Just grab a team and go down to Level 5."
"Right. Listen, you're not a maniac." She assured me, but her tone doesn't truly justify that. "I mean, you are, just not about this." She added, as he sighed.
"Must be something we're not thinking of..." He muttered as he started.
"Well... Happy Birthday." She smiled.
"Is it?" He was surprised as she nodded. "Ah, of course." He chuckled as she gave a small kiss on his cheek. "I should have a birthday more often." Then he starts to drive, heading to the power plant.
They see the different scene, with different people, nothing much can be said, knowing it focuses on different people. "Must be hard for him to celebrate his birthday." Ruby comments towards the family. Then Qrow realized some certain names called out, are Huntsmen. But he kept silent.
Then hearing the man's speaking about the reactor and tremors. "He's mentioning of the mine's tremors..." Ren realized upon his speaking.
"It managed to impact that far. But then again. It's not a reach." Penny admitted to accept such believability. They wonder what this means for the news of this so called Reactor, which thanks to Mobius, he must be talking about the Nuclear Reactor, due to the information sharing how powerful Nuclear Power is.
At the power plant, the man himself was associated with two other people, one is a worker for the lab and the other in a business suit.
"What is this?" The man asked as he was given the paper charts.
"Seismic anomaly. This graph is minutes. X is minutes, not days. This is now." The worker pointed out. The chart shows a consistent shape of the seismic levels.
"Wait, hold on. Seismic activity?" The business man questioned. "You're talking about earthquakes?
"No, earthquakes are random, jagged. This is consistent, increasing." He stated as he handed the papers back to the worker. "This is a pattern."
Meanwhile in another section, a group of workers are suited up with protection hazmat, the same woman is one of them in charge. "All right. Let's make this quick." She puts on the masks as the door opens with alarm blares as they enter the corridor.
At the control room, the three entered as the man spoke up, "Slate, what is going on?" He questioned the same man from the call.
He turns back to see him, "Yeah. Maybe this is not a good time for a meeting, Ivan." He replied.
As Ivan himself checks up the monitors, "What's the source? Where's the epicenter?" He questioned Slate.
"We don't know. But it keeps getting stronger." Slate stated.
Ivan did not like this answer, "It's gotta be centered somewhere. Jay?" He calls out another man.
"No one else is reporting it. We are contacting every other plant in the South East of Mistral. They're unaffected. But my guess is these readings are just aftershocks from the earthquake." Jay explained the situation.
"Are we at full function?" Ivan asked.
"Yes, we are. But perhaps we should be drawing down, to be safe." Just as Jay said it, the entire room shakes, lights flicker, something afar blown up.
"...Take us offline." Ivan demanded.
"Now, Ivan..." The businessman spoke out.
"Do it now!" He yelled, "Wind it down." He quickly goes to grab a communication device to contact someone close... "Muriel, Muriel are you there?" He calls out.
Back at the corridor, the team of hazmats sensed the sudden shock, the woman known as Muriel realized the dangers, "We're turning back. Let's go!" She yelled as she and the others ran back. Just as they run, she turns to see the other end, the corridor leaks out a gas cloud that quickly envelops and chases them. "Oh my gods!" She exclaimed as she and others ran as fast as they could...
At the control room, Ivan hears her voice from the speaker, "Ivan! I'm here! There's been a breach. We're heading back to the containment seal." She spoke out.
He worries and quickly responds in a panicked tone, "Muriel, listen to me. You need to get out of there! If there's been a reactor breach, you won't last five minutes with or without the suits. Do you hear me?" He demanded.
"I hear you. We're coming!" She runs fast as the gas comes.
Time is waiting as the shocks continue to get worse, Ivan turns to Slate, "Put the safety doors on manual override. I'll meet them there myself." He goes to leave.
Slate widened his eyes, "I cannot do that!" He exclaimed.
"Keep them open, my wife is still in there!" Ivan yelled as he rushed out of the control room. He runs as everyone heads the opposite direction to evacuate. He finally arrives at the area, where the entrance of the corridor. Seeing the panel, he pressed the communication button, "Slate, tell me this door's manual." He requested.
"Yes, but we are starting to breach!" Slate's voice responded.
"I'm right here. Soon as they're through, I'll seal it." Ivan refuted him as he called his wife, "Muriel... I'm right here, waiting outside the checkpoint. But you have to run as fast as you can."
"I am!" Muriel panicked, then one of the workers fell behind, she stopped and helped him get up. "Come on, we need to go!" Then she sees the gas leak coming closer...
Seeing this scene, they learn more of this situation. No comment, since they are entirely interested on this works of the power plant.
When the rumble happened, "Oh no..." Sun worried. "That's bad."
"It's dangerous to exposure..." Weiss realized.
"Uranium, must be powerful but have greater side effects." Blake suggested this reason, and turns to Mobius, who slightly nodded at her words. "...Then she must get out." She spoke.
"Come on..." Ruby hoped for them to get out.
At the checkpoint Slate's voice shouts out, "Ivan! Seal the corridor or the whole city will be exposed!" Ivan is ignoring the warning...
He attempts to call her again, "...Muriel?" He waits for a response.
... "Ivan? Ivan, can you hear me? Are you there?" He hears her voice as he quickly responds.
"Yes. I'm here." Ivan assured me.
"Ivan... It's too late. We're not coming." She revealed, which he widened his eyes by that statement.
"No, don't say that! Don't you dare say that! Run as hard as you can, honey!" Ivan yelled.
As Muriel runs, "Ivan, you have to close the door! You have to live for our son." She pleaded.
Ivan is in denial, then Slate's voice is shouted by the speaker, "Ivan, seal the door! Now! Five seconds! Four seconds!" Then rumbling occurs, as he looks to see the checkpoint hallway, the radiated gas emerges and is coming closer! Ivan's eyes widen in shock, seeing that it's coming...
He screams in agony as he presses the button, the doors closing up. Then it was sealed, the cloud was halted... His face showed grief, as he looked at the window... Where Muriel is there. She takes her mask off, knowing that this suit doesn't give protection.
"...I'm sorry." Ivan sobbed.
Muriel is in tears as well, "...Take care of Tyler... Be a good father..." She makes her final request to her husband.
"...I will." He slowly nodded.
"...We didn't make it." Her last words came, as another door sealed her and the team. Closed, Ivan cries in loss from his last sight of his wife. Suddenly the rumble continues, he notices and must evacuate the power plant.
The power plant is crumbling, everyone runs away.
And from the school, the tv shuts down as the teacher quickly sets up the evacuation for the class. Tyler was there, he looked from the side where there is a window. He sees the destruction of the Power Plant.
Tyler is there, as the class and teacher evacuate, he turns to see the destruction of the power plant from a distance. The child's eyes watch in realization upon what just happened...
Horror and sorrow came upon some of the audience. "No..." Came from Ruby, as they witness a husband sealing the door away from his wife. Tears almost come to her, as Yang tries to comfort her.
Some feel bad, but those who suffered lost... Ruby and Yang recalled the time they lost their mom... Seeing this scene reminiscent to that... Qrow glanced away, knowing this too well... Thank goodness Taiyang wasn't there, it would be truly bad for him to recall this moment.
Ren and Nora also recall the loss of their parents, and they can understand that.
However, that moment didn't get a breather, as they witness the destruction of the power plant.
Ozpin thought about this witness, recalling the previous scene of the mine and the spore hatched, the creature heading to the ocean... He might know how this happened... He waits for confirmation...
Times have passed, years are counted. The darkness was shined by the light, men in white military armor all in different color code stripes. "Alright, let's move out!" A voice commanded the men to leave the aircraft. They all grabbed their packs and walked out the sunny outside.
"Come on! Tyler! On your feet!" One of them was Tyler himself who is now grown up as an adult. He was called out by the Specialist, he got up and joined with others. "You got family waiting for you?" He asked him.
"Yeah." Tyler nodded.
"How long have you been away?" He asked again.
"Fourteen months." Tyler stated.
"Take it slow. It's the one thing they don't train you for." He advised before calling out the troops. "All right! Let's go!" He heads out as Tyler stares, he ponders by his words then goes.
At night, in the city of Vale. Tyler returns homme, where he meets his family...
"I can't tell you." A young boy's voice spoke in the house.
"Not a peak?" Tyler asked.
"Don't let him see." A female voice spoke out, later the two revealed to him a 'welcome home' celebration. With cake and all.
"Oh, wow! Look at that!" Tyler exclaimed.
"It's a welcome home cake." The wife smiled. Then the kid brings a drawing for him to see.
"That's you. And that's me." The child pointed to the crud drawing of him and his father.
"And what's it say?" Tyler pointed to the sentence on the drawing.
"Welcome home, Daddy." The kid spoke it out.
"Yep. Daddy's home." He hugs his son, as his wife joins the hug as well. "We should have Cake every night." He smirked. "Daddy's home is the same... Cake every night."
"Yeah, that's not happening." She eye-rolled from his remark. Then she noticed her son, "How did you manage to get chocolate on your eyeball?" She gently cleans it up.
"Daddy did it." The kid lied. Tyler chuckled at the remark.
After the celebration, Tyler takes his son to bed as he tickles him who giggles by his action. When that's over, he tucks him in bed, "Come on, let's get you into bed." As the son was in bed, covered in blankets.
"Dad?" He spoke with a quiet tone.
"Yeah?" Tyler hears his son's words.
"Are you still gonna be here tomorrow?" He asked.
"...Yeah." He assured me, "Come on, let's get some sleep." He tucks him in as the kid closes his eyes and sleeps. He watches it with a smile, now it's time to spend with his wife...
They soon see the kid now grown up, when seeing the similarities. Ironwood and Winter noticed his uniform. They know his position and are impressed by his status. Qrow slightly eye-rolled his role due to being Atlas, but he assumes there is no Huntsmen in this world... Plus, he's still trying to wash off that previous moment.
James softly smiled by his duty and coming back, sometimes he wished them all to reunite with family or friends. Hence his determination to make less causalities.
Upon seeing him reunited with his family. It was heartwarming to see this reunion, despite the previous scene...
At the living room, where they sit on the couch, as Tyler tells his military experience to his wife, "He turns around, nose-to-nose, he says, at ease, lieutenant." He remarked, which his wife giggled a lot. "Wow, I miss your laugh."
"Well, I missed you." She smirked. The two lean their heads close as they kiss each other on the lips. Just then a while, a scroll rings. "I should get that..." She muttered.
"Come on, not an extra minute?" He smirked, which she playfully shoved.
"It could be work." She remarked, going off the couch and picking up the call. "Hello?" She calls out, an audible response occurs, "Yeah, this is Monique King..." She said, as she listened to their talk.
"Tell him you're busy tending to your husband's needs." He joked as she waves off sarcastically.
"...Yeah, he's my husband." She responded. Another response continues on, as her expression came upon realization. "Yes, sir. Could you just hold on one moment?" She lowers the scroll turning to Tyler, "It's the consulate. Your father has been arrested in Mistral."
Tyler widens his eyes in shock, then later turns irritation.
Time passes, as Tyler digs through his clothes closest, "Monique, I can't find my pants." He calls out.
"They're in the other drawer." She responded, he picks them up as she comes in when he's changing. "So why was he trespassing in the quarantine zone?" She wondered.
"What do you think?" He slightly scoffed. "Always seek the truth, using crackpot theories and being alone."
She looked unpleased by his remark, "Tyler, your father's a good man." Tyler didn't reply. "He's lost everything." She reminded me.
"So did I." Tyler remarked. "But I got over it." She stared back, not seeing this as an excuse. He sighed softly, "Sorry, it's just... Every time I let him in close, he always tries to drag me back. And I can't put our family through that."
"But he's family also." Monique replied as she went close to comfort him. "Besides, you'll just be gone for a few days, right? And then you'll be back." He nodded, but was still feeling doubt. "Come on. It's not the end of the world."
Seeing more of the family time, and now husband and wife relationship, just as things get more moment... They soon heard the later scenes about Tyler's father.
"He sounds... Broken." Yatsuhashi remarked.
"Yeah, you can't really excuse it." Neptune replied, as he recalled his trauma with his brother, it's not easy to get over with. Tyler shouldn't compare himself.
Blake feels a bit of ashamed, by hearing Tyler's words about his father, his actions is similar to hers when searching for Torchwick...
"Yeah, he's still family with a good heart." Ruby reminded his words, with a warm smile and agrees with Monique. "She seems to get it."
"Yeah, but why do I get the feeling, she's juked with these last words." Yang winced, by the 'it's not end of the world' comment.
Mercury eye-rolled from this moment feeling a bit bored by this. Emerald slightly scoffed by his more playful gestured of boredom, though not like she agree.
At the city in Mistral, Tyler is in the police station. Where he is seated, waiting for his father. He glanced to see the officers escorted a teenage man out as the family came and scolded him. Then he noticed through the window to see his father Ivan escorted by other officers. The two stare at each other.
Later, Ivan takes Tyler to his apartment. He opens his door showing the unit to be in a messy place, filled with stacks of papers sticking onto walls, notes and folders. "I don't get many visitors." Ivan stated.
"Yeah." Clearly, Tyler thought, as he looked around the mess. He notices some papers that showcase news articles about a nuclear facility.
Meanwhile, Ivan is setting up tea, using a kettle. "So... How's the bomb business? It must be a growth area these days." He asked.
Tyler signed by his response, "It's Explosive Ordnance Disposal. My job is to stop bombs." He replied.
"And uh... How's Monique?" Ivan asked. "Oh how about Elon? That kid must be like what? Three? Three and a half?"
"Five." Tyler corrected with a neutral tone. Then he looks at the papers. "I thought you were over this. Echolocation?" He grabs one of them.
"Oh, hey." Ivan perked up by his son's discovery.
"Parasitic communication..." He continued but Ivan took the papers he was reading.
"I was just... Studying bioacoustics." Ivan explained with a hint of worry. "It's... I have everything the way I like it."
"What were you doing back there?" Tyler brings straight to the point.
"Ugh, that trespassing stuff, was bull." He scoffed.
"You broke the law." Tyler reminded him.
"I was trying to get back to our old house." Ivan reasoned.
"In a quarantine zone?" He questioned his father.
"Exactly." Ivan stated. "The new readings I discovered are exactly like they were on that day..." He starts to arrange the papers. "With any luck, I can get back to the house. I can show you and the world this was not from a natural disaster. This was-"
"Dad." Tyler interrupted him. Then the kettle hisses out steam, Ivan turns off the stove...
"Your mom's out there, Tyler." Ivan continues on as his grief is showing. "...She's always there. The evacuation happens so quickly. I don't have a photo of her. You know I did everything I could. You know that, right?"
"...This has to stop." Tyler tries to persuade away from this risky quest. "Let me take you home. I have a little boy who wants to see his grandpa."
"..." Ivan remains quiet, but for a moment... He nodded by his request.
Tyler smiled at his acceptance, "We can leave tomorrow." He stated.
Next morning, Tyler wakes up and is ready to go... Until he hears a whisper, he goes to the room to see Ivan on call with someone. He was on radio, speaking back, he finished the call, before turning to see him.
"What are you doing?" Tyler questioned him.
"I'm heading back out there." Ivan revealed. "Just one hour, in and out."
"No." Tyler shook his head. "You can't!"
"I have to go!" Ivan shouted in despair, "I came back here and wasted six years, staring through that barbed wire, thinking it was a military mistake or some horrible design flaw they were covering up." He spoke with anger. "One day, I met a guy who runs a cargo boat offshore. Every day he goes right past the reactor site. So he places a couple frequency monitors on buoys for me." He explained. "Two weeks ago, I checked this thing like every other day just for the kick. And then... There it is." He puts his jacket on. "Whatever it is that's in there. Whatever it is they're guarding so carefully started talking again. And I mean talking. I have to go back to our house. I need my old disks, if they're still there. I need the data to be able to prove a baseline here that Now this isn't a fantasy, that I'm not what you think I am. I'm gonna find the truth and end this. Whatever it takes."
"Why can't you just let it rest?" Tyler sighed and questioned his determination.
"Because I sent her down there, son. This wasn't just a reactor meltdown." Ivan replied, then his son was annoyed, "I know, you don't want to hear it. But you can't keep running away. And, son, you can't bury this in the past."
Tyler stares at his father, then makes his decision...
They see the vast city of Mistral, it still impresses them that this world has no Grimm once more, are their world is like a rare thing? Then upon seeing Tyler and Ivan once again, they wonder of this current relationship...
Upon the apartment setting the rest learn more about Tyler. "Impressive." Pyrrha nodded, at Tyler's position in the Atlas Military.
Penny listened to Tyler's words about Ivan's papers. "Echolocation and Parasitic Communication..." She repeated these words.
"Wait." Weiss realized, "Is he trying to connect that incident from the mine to here?" She assumed.
Ozpin smiled, "That's a great observation Miss Schnee." He nodded.
Winter thinks about this and speaks on her sister's behalf. "That seems plausible. That thing hatched from the spore and headed to the ocean and the seismic activity occurred for the mine and the power plant, with these connections it seems obvious..." She turned to Mobius.
Glynda then suggested before Mobius can 'speak', "Perhaps this might be secluding operation." She said, "If that this giant spore can lead to..." Winter nodded in agreement upon realization.
"Perhaps the world here, is more different and the lack of Grimm proves it." James informed them.
They see the grief of Ivan, and felt very bad for him. Then seeing the Tyler tries to tell him to let go, and Ivan seemingly accept it. Blake knew from this past determination, simple words ain't gonna cut it... And next scene was proven right for her and everyone.
Drama occurs worries for those who have family relationships, until Ivan's words 'you can't bury this in the past'. Nothing spoke out, but their minds thought deep upon that...
At the quarantine city, the small boat arrives at the water bank, with Tyler and Ivan in hazmat suits. At the abandoned city, the two are on the ground, searching for the old house.
Ivan was in the lead, while Tyler was following. All of a sudden, wolves run off, then pass them much to their confusion and surprise. "What spooked them?" Tyler wondered, he shook it off and walked off. "Dad, come on. Let's go. It's only another two blocks." He stopped to see Ivan looking at his scanner. "Dad! Are we going home, or what?" He then widens his eyes upon seeing him take his mask off... "Whoa! Hey, what are you doing? Dad!"
"It's okay!" Ivan assured as he took the gas mask off. "This place is clean..." He smirked. "I knew it. The radiation in this place should be lethal, but there's nothing."
They soon head to the house. Now they look at what used to be an old home to be covered in plants, and ruin. Then Ivan heads to his office room, and uncovers the mess, to see the disks. He sighs in relief once discovering them, clutching them. Then upon other discoveries, a photo of him, his wife and young Tyler. He looks at them with sorrow, reminding of the past, as he sees the birthday sign itself. Tyler saw as he glanced at his father, he wanted to say something, but was remaining silent.
Then they hear a noise coming from outside...
They come out to see an aircraft flying above the skyscrapers. Confused by this, they follow it by curiosity, only to reach the end... To see from a vast distance... The power plant itself is surrounded by an active site.
"...Are they rebuilding the plant?" Tyler asked.
"I don't know. I haven't seen..." Ivan was about to finish until sudden gun sounds gained their attention from behind. They turn to see men in hazmat aiming their weapons at them. With no choice, they raised their hands.
Seeing the city, it reminds them a lot of Mountain Glenn, but more mossy and grown with plant life. But... "Shouldn't this place be heavily... Poisoned?" Neptune spoke aloud. "Given how we know radiation is dangerous..."
Then later upon realization. "Huh, but how?" Jaune questioned, how this radiation seemingly disappear.
However, curiosity occur for the android, Penny spoke, "Mobius, what are the affects of radiation?" She asked to the Entity.
"It can cause impair damage to tissue and organ. It can be very permanent, leading terminal sickness and worse effects." Mobius answered, this causes a lot of pale faces from them.
"Oh..." Jaune winced a lot by this. No wonder Tyler panicked when Ivan took off his mask...
Then they see the house, and felt the sorrow for Ivan, and seeing the Birthday Sign... They hope to find the true answers and what is this reality shows...
The next scene confuses them, when seeing the Bullhead, and the site itself. "Busted..." Sun winced as they see the two got caught by men. Things get more interesting...
The night comes, the two are arrested in the truck. Tyler and Ivan are in custody, as they are being taken to the power plant site. Ivan looks through the window to see it arrives at the checkpoint as the men let them through.
There are workers everywhere wearing hazmat gear. Then he sees the massive dark thing, a giant spore was in the middle of the reactor. Workers rushed as the announcement spoke out, "Ten seconds. Ten seconds." They placed something near, as the giant spore looking thing is glowing orange in a pulsing pattern.
At the tower, it analyzes the same data pattern showing a number, "Seven-point-two seconds and getting stronger. We're trending exponentially. That's our new curve." One of the scientists pointed out.
"Jeez, it's worse than we thought." A man in the suit muttered. Ozpin is there as well observing the giant spore.
"Dr. Ozpin?" A man came to him from behind. "We have two men who were just arrested in the Q-zone." He stated.
"That's not a big problem, have Dr. Rumpole take a look." The man replied.
"She did, sir. She sent it to me." He turns to Ozpin. "One of them says he used to work here, doctor." This made the Doctor turn in surprise.
Ozpin arrives with Rumpole at the integration room, behind the dark glass where Ivan is speaking to the integrator. "You are not fooling anybody... When you say that what happened 15 years ago was a natural disaster."
Rumpole showed the items to Ozpin as it goes on, "Found these disks in his bag. Not sure what to make of them." She stated as Ozpin took a look at the disks.
"It was not an earthquake, it wasn't a typhoon. Okay? So stop..." Ivan scoffed, "Look, I'm tired of talking to you about this. I want my son. I wanna see my son. I wanna know that he's all right." He demanded as he stood up as the man did so. Then he pointed at the dark window, "This guy, this guy knows. He knows where he is. I want my son. And I want my bag and disks. And I wanna talk to somebody in charge, not you. No, not you. I'm done talking to you. All right?" He pointed at the man as he turned to the window, going closer. "You're looking at me right now, like I'm in a fish tank, right? Fine. Because I know what happened here. And you keep telling everybody that this place is a death zone, but it's not. You're lying. Because what's really happening is that you're hiding something out there. I'm right, aren't I? My wife died here!" He screamed. "Something killed my wife. And I have a right to know! I deserve answers!"
As the disks were being observed, Rumpole noticed the date, "These items he has... They dated 15 years ago..." She quietly exclaimed.
"I thought all of the data from that day was lost." Ozpin muttered.
"I guess not." She replied, then the entire room rumbled.
Ivan noticed and pointed it out, "You see? There it is again. That is not a transformer malfunction. That is an electromagnetic pulse." He stated and revealed a new term. "It affects everything electrical for miles and miles and it is happening again." As Ozpin sees the papers in similar to the ones they are having to his slight surprise and interest as the man speaks, "This is what caused everything in the first place. Don't you see that? And it is gonna send us back to the ancients! You have no idea what's coming." He warned as more lights flicker to almost shut down.
They witness a closer look of the reactor. A massive spore cocoon, they are recoiled by shock and disgust by how parasitic it looks.
"I do not like how its glowing..." Yang creeped out.
"Pulsing..." Neptune corrected, but he agrees with her comment. Nothing like this occur in their world's nature.
Next scene, they see whose there, "Ozpin..." Ruby muttered, wondering what are they are doing here. "What are they trying to do?"
"I don't know..." Weiss admitted. "In fact, why are they observing this thing?" As they continue watching it... They see the interrogation.
They listen to Ivan's explanation, silence occurs as his loud, along with anger and grief echoed the room. Then once the rumble and lights flicker, Ivan spoke out the term 'electromagnetic pulse' hearing its capabilities, this causes dread to almost everyone.
While everyone do feel genuine fear... Ruby feared greatly, when recalling it affect electricity, she looks at Penny worriedly while Penny looked troubled and a bit scared by hearing what it does...
Meanwhile Cinder was impressed by this. Such effect can take down the advancements of technology... Imagine Atlas get affected by this... The whole city will fall on Mantle... Her thoughts expanded by that power of the electromagnetic pulse.
The readings at the tower began to pull crazy, showing the graphic repeated over and over as the seismic activity increases.
"Pulses are seconds apart." The scientist stated. "They're getting stronger. It's affecting the power grid."
"Any radiation leakage?" The man asked.
"The Gamma levels are still zero. It sucked all three reactors dry." He explained as Ozpin and Rumpole arrived. The spore was pulsing rapidly until a piece of it cracked off, causing the workers to back off as the large rubble crashed down.
"It's done feeding." Ozpin stated as he handed the papers to the man.
"What's this?" He questioned as he looked at the papers.
"It's the same pattern. Fifteen years ago, that's what caused the meltdown." Ozpin answered.
"An electromagnetic pulse. That's what it's building to. Converting all that radiation, until it hatches." Rumpole added, which shocked others.
"We have to shut down." Ozpin demanded.
The man decided to speak aloud, "Secure the grid. Wildfire protocols." Then the scientist picks up a mic and announces everyone.
"All personnel, clear the first perimeter immediately!" The workers run off, as the cranes above set up large wires surrounding the spore.
At the truck, Tyler was still inside as he saw the evacuation ongoing, "What's going on?" Then the guard inside left, "Hey, where are you going?" He asked, but wasn't given an answer.
The spore pulses more as everything electronic shuts down for a flat second before coming back. Then the wires are fully in position, as one of the workers presses the button, setting up the lights.
The tower got confirmation as the scientist states out, "Grid's secure." He confirmed.
Ozpin, hearing this closes his eyes in regret, "Kill it." He commanded.
The scientist nodded and pressed a button, then the wires discharged powerful electric currents onto the spore as a loud agonizing bellowing sound occurred at the spore... Then the tip of it breaks off, as large pieces crash on the ground.
"Oh no..." Pyrrha worried. Velvet shiver by the sudden roar, Blake slightly shifted by this sound as well.
"It's done feeding?" Jaune panicked.
"Aren't they gonna kill it?" Emerald questioned them. "Unless you want it to hatch open." Almost everyone grew worried upon this, and the fact Tyler is still in the truck whose in risk.
Cinder however, doesn't want to it to die, she needs to see its capabilities... Show me what you can do... She spoke aloud in her mind.
Then they witnessed the action of the cocoon being zapped.
The scientist scans for the vital signs... And turns to them, "All readings are flatlined." He affirmed. As everyone settles down.
"Get a visual." The man requested to confirm the death of this being.
The workers and personnel watch the giant silent spore. Some of the workers go up the higher levels to take a look inside the spore... One of them turns a flashlight, shining the inside that is filled with slimy fluids... Then he noticed something moving inside... As he shines at it...
A jaw emerges out and the giant creature emerges out, breaking out the cocoon spore. It roars and raises its appendages, which glows orange. It slams it down, creating a shockwave blast that when hitting the tower and everything, the electronics shut down!
"It hit us with something! We're losing power!" The scientist yelled in panic.
Everything was shut down. Even in Ivan's integration room, he noticed the electronic lock was turned off. Tyler also noticed the shockwave.
"Get the backup generators online." The man demanded as the scientist flipped the switch.
"Working on it! That pulse fried every circuit." He started as the backup lights turned on, only to see the full grown creature roaring. It moves out of the spore, causing small seismic quakes as workers nearby run for their lives as it tries to be free.
"Everybody out! Now!" The man demanded as people started to fully evacuate.
Ivan was outside, on the metal path, he turned to witness the massive creature escaping the wire grid. Much to his horror by this reveal.
Tyler also saw this, but was still in the truck. "Hey! Let me out! Hey!" Then he turns to see fire trucks come in, with fire fighters coming out to help other trapped workers. But then they stopped, upon seeing the massive claw-like sickle limbs crawl out of the grid grabbing the wires.
Cinder was disappointed by this, but a slight sense of hope occur later on...
The cocoon broke out, surprising everyone. Then before they can say anything, they saw the first effects of the electromagnetic pulse. Ruby worried by how deadly the affect is, turning to Penny as concern.
Then later, they are jumped by the reveal of this creature. "Is that suppose to be an animal!?" Coco recoiled by how ugly it looks. "It looks way too much like Grimm!"
Cinder admires the look of this creature, unlike Mercury and Emerald admit that they don't like the look of it. She really needs to share this to her mistress, the idea of this Grimm and using the same electromagnetic pulse ability.
However pulling it, causes the crane to fall, then a chain reaction as multiple cranes fall like dominos. Ivan, surprised, then sees the crane is about to fall on the path where people are running, "No! No, wait! Stop!" He yelled but they were crushed by the crane when trying to escape.
Tyler sees the crane coming down, he braces for impact as the crane hits the end of the truck causing it to topple over and accidentally break the door open.
Ivan sees the truck where Tyler was in, "Tyler!" He shouted.
Luckily, he got out, and was unharmed. He then sees the crane slide down as the worker inside screams in terror as the crane falls down the grid. Then the crane pulls down another part... Where Ivan was on the path as it was about to fall...
Upon both their realization, the path collapses leading Ivan to fall. "Dad!" Tyler screamed. Then another sound came from the grid... He turns to see the creature emerge, free from the wires. He takes a step back at the fallen truck.
The giant monster steps, each of them causing a rumble as each of them knocks around vehicles and stomps on the unfortunate running workers. Tyler trips back, crawling back to the truck, he puts on the gas mask, breathing slowly as he witnesses the creature make a stance and then has... Wings!? It then flaps, making lift off towards the dark sky...
Gasped upon seeing the destruction from the massive creature. Then sudden tension when the truck gets knocked, but it gets worse when the crane is being pulled where Ivan was on...
"No!" Ruby exclaimed, seeing Ivan being fallen, in same timing as Tyler's scream. Then dread comes as the massive creature occurs, seeing it rise up and then causing destruction just by its mere presence.
Then it gets worse, by seeing the creature's wings... "It can fly!?" Yang yelped, it can fly like a Nevermore Grimm... Everyone was shocked by this reveal, as Tyler blacken out.
They just witness such a truth of the accident... A giant monster, is on the loose, and Ivan was injured... What can they expect on this reality?
Part 1 out of the 3 is done. Once again, feel free to share it and help me to continue further on this story. Any support is welcomed.
Anyways, let me rant for a moment about this chapter...
If anyone tried to tell me or "correct" me that "RWBY should know what an EMP is", you guys, show me a moment in the RWBY show or any media of using or acknowledging an EMP. I dare you to do it.
Don't ask me for more requests, it's already planned and if you don't know, it's on you.
And no more complaining of OCs, I don't want anyone telling me what to do on my story.
Lastly, don't tell me to rush this, unless you pay me to write faster, this is a slow-burn process.
Well, that's that. Have a great day everybody.
