BEEP BEEP BEEP

Percy shot up in his bed, looking franticly around the room. The Alarm ringing loudly in his ear. His eyes finally landed on the bright red numbers of his alarm clock.

9:32

The clock read, blinking frantically and blaring ferociously in the face of Percy, who rubbed his eyes sleepily.

"Fuck" he muttered as he flopped back down on his bed.

"I'm late again" He grunted out. He rolled on his back and stared listlessly at the blank white ceiling. Percy drew a breath. He groaned loudly and flung his covers off, climbed out of his bed and groggily stumbled his way towards the bathroom, where his roommate, Jared was currently in the shower. They've been roommates for a while. Shoot they've been more than roommates. Ever since 1st Grade, when Jared first transferred to this school, him and Percy have been practically inseparable. Rooming together, eating lunch together, playing games together, staying up late night and having "deep coversations" every roadblock of friendship has been hit by these two.

"Hey!" Percy said loudly while banging on the door. A few seconds passed before the the shower was turned off.

"What?" Jared asked.

"I have class in like...10 minutes can I use the bathroom real quick?" Percy asked. A few more seconds passed before he heard a sigh and grunt.

"Fine, give me a few minutes." Jared said with a hint of anger. Percy let out a breath before walking back to his bed and throwing his uniform on. He got dressed and waited patiently for Jared to finish in the bathroom. After about 5 minutes, Percy heard the door open and he nearly knocked made his way over sort of zombie like, still drunk with sleep.

Line Break

Percy slid into the back corner of the room and slumped down on his desk waiting for the rest of the students to file in. After a couple of seconds and only 3 people entering, he decided to pass the time by reading a book his mom sent to him for his last birthday. Even though it had been almost a year since then, he hasn't made a dent in the book since it was so long and indecipherable. Now, this wasn't your average book, it wasn't about fairies or what not, it was a guide to sword-fighting, magic use and combat. And contrary to what Percy thought, It was pretty intriguing. Percy read for more than he probably should have, because when he glanced up, he almost leaped out of his seat when a middle aged man stood at his desk. Peering into his soul. It was the teacher, Mr. Willis

"er- sorry sir" Percy said uneasily. And started to stuff the book back in his bag. Mr. Willis stared at Percy's struggles for a few seconds before speaking

"There's no need for that" He said keeping his eyes squarely on Percy. Percy paused his attempts in forcing the book in his bag and slowly placed it on the table

"I'm sorry?" Percy said. Mr. Willis kept his eyes directly on Percy. This, wasn't particularly weird, because Mr. Willis always came off as kinda a strange man (I mean who wears 2 piece wool suits and is normal) but he was genuinely a pretty cool guy since he allowed the whole class to have a free period half of the time.

"I'll need to confiscate that." Mr. Willis said. Percy gave a confused look to him. That's weird

"Why?" Percy asked. Mr. Willis held out his hand

"That book needs to be confiscated." Mr. Willis said. Percy gave Mr. Willis an extremely questioning look. What was with this dude

"Why though?" He asked in a confused tone. Mr. Willis growled and tore the book from Percy's hands.

"What the fu-" Percy started

"Silence" Mr. Willis said soon after. A moment of stunned silence was shared before Percy took things into his own hands. Percy made a grab for the book, but Mr. Willis held it away.

"Do it again and it's detention for you" He said in a threatening tone. Percy growled on frustrating yet again and slumped back in his chair. He'd just take it after class. But the damage was done, his mood was officially ruined.

Throughout the class, he didn't even want to look in the direction of Mr. Willis. Who was calmly teaching the class per usual. When the bell finally rang, he took his stuff and moodily trudged to the front desk, where the book rested lazily and reached for it. A hand instantly slapped his own away. He looked up for the owner of the hand. He only saw the intense stare of Mr. Willis. In one swift motion, his hand from a hover over the book to a point to the exiting door. Percy's face drooped. He wanted to kick the sagging meat off Mr. Willis's face. He gritted his teeth and went for it again, But fast as flash, Willis snatched his hand out of mid air. Percy tightened his fist. He paused for a moment before dropping it. Keeping his eyes on Mr. Willis, He tore his hand from Willis's grip before turning and walking out the classroom heading for lunch.

Percy walked into the Cafeteria and strolled to his table where Jared and Ava, His two friends sat.

"Hey" Percy said as he slid down is his seat. There was a pause before Ava spoke up

"You look glum, Did Charlotte finally reject you?" Ava said. Jared chuckled and Percy gave them a glare.

"Hilarious" He said sarcastically

"Mr. Willis took my book" He said placing his head on the table. There was a moment of silence before Ava bust out laughing and earned another glare from Percy.

"Seriously? That's what your crying over? C'mon man" She said reaching across the table to pat him on the shoulder. Percy pushed her hand off in annoyance. He then groaned and leaned back. He knew they wouldn't understand.

"Isn't Willis like a cool dude?" Jared said.

"Why would he take your book?"

"I don't know! That's the thing that confuses me" Percy said. He sighed again and slumped back down on the table. The table was quiet with sounds of the 3 eating before Jared began to talk.

"So.." Jared said

"Its your big day in 2 days." Percy lifted his head and smiled wearily

"Yeah I guess." He said

"Are you gonna do anything for your birthday?" Ava asked? Percy thought for a moment and smiled wistfully

"My...mom said this year was special" Percy said. An eager look on Ava's face appeared.

"Oooooo What is it gonna be." She asked basically jumping up and down as she shuffled up in her seat Percy shrugged and smiled a bit more.

"Are you gonna ask Charlotte out" Jared said. Percy rolled his eyes.

"No." He said, warranting a laugh from Jared. 2 Charlotte Jokes in 1 convo was more than he could take. Charlotte was a girl in their grade that Percy had been crushing on for YEARS. Unfortunately for him, His 2 best buddies Ava and Jared couldn't go 2 minutes without calling him a wuss for not shooting his shot Ava stroked her ponytail and tugged on her coat.

"I hate these fucking uniforms" She muttered

"I hate these teachers" Percy said moodily

"I hate this lunch" Jared said. Picking at whatever monstrosity they decided to serve today.

A teacher swiftly walked past them and waved at the group. Ava waved back.

"Who was that?" Percy asked

"On of my teachers." Ava said

"What did she teach." Percy asked

"Funny, she actually taught me and Jared algebra last year" Ava said. Percy turned to Jared. Who was focused intently on the teacher that just passed. Percy tapped Jared, but he instead got a face with a mix of shock and betrayal.

"What happened?" Percy said looking at Jared's passionate expression.

"Wh-what..was in her hand?" He asked in a quivering voice. Percy gave him a puzzled look

"I don't focus on random teachers hands..." He said. Jared looked around. Like he was trying to Keep a secret. He leaned in and whispered

"She had a cinnamon roll in her hand" He said. He had a look of shock on her face. Percy shockingly didn't feel like this was world changing information and rolled his eyes. Jared wasn't pleased by this showing of disrespect. But before he could say anything, Ava spoke up.

"Really?" She asked.

"Yeah" Jared said. He paused for a second

"In fact..." He said, trailing off. Jared looked around, His eyes darting around.

"They all have food...good food" He muttered. Percy looked up from his fingers. He looked art Mr. Browne. He was eating chicken tenders. Even though he thought what Jared going on about was stupid, he had to admit that Mr. Browne's tenders didn't look as dry as the ones served here. He turned. Ms. Edward had a burrito. It lacked the sogginess that was served here. It didn't look microwaved like the school lunch. Percy turned to another teacher, He was eating a donut, another one, cake. Percy raised an eyebrow.

"They're lunch looks pretty good." He said. Percy stroked his chin. Jared raised his eyebrows like

I told you so

"Is that a Starbucks Iced coffee?" Ava said. Looking at Mr. Willis who was sipping it. Jared whipped his head around. He then swiftly snapped his head back to forward. Percy looked to Jared who gritted his teeth, and looked down at his Mac & Cheese bitterly, which had the consistency of water. Ava had a look of amusement and disgust.

"Dang" She said. Percy smiled too and looked back down, picking his fingernails. Before he could open his mouth, The bell rang. End of lunch.

Line Break

Percy flipped through his notes a few times before setting them down and standing up. He was lying on his back looking up on the chemistry notes. He was studying for his chemistry test, or at least TRYING to study, but unfortunately Jared was muttering to himself on the bed across the room

"Hey!" Percy yelled. The muttering stopped

"Sorry" Jared called out

"Just stressed" he said. Percy turned to Jared's bed. in the doorway.

"What is it?" Percy asked turning his eyes back on his notes. Jared let out a sigh

"I want revenge." He said. A puzzled look morphed onto Percy's face. Jared let out another sigh.

"At lunch, where we saw the teachers eating the food. You remember that?"

"I've been thinking" Jared said. Percy looked away from his notes and stared at the small mischievous smile on Jared's face.

"I wanted to solve our food problem. I want to get us students real food." Percy looked at his notes.

"And how will you be doing that?" Percy muttered. Jared cracked a smile

"After some deliberation, I decided that raiding the school would be the best option!" He said cheerfully. Percy gave him a strange look.

"What does that even...mean?" He asked

"Well, the teachers must have a stash of food somewhere." He started. Percy nodded for him to continue.

"Well i want to find it, and take everything" He said. His small smile turned into a grin. Percy glanced at him.

What does that have to do with me?" He asked. Jared smiled nervously

"Well, we'll need your help." He said. Percy laughed.

"Thanks, but I'm good" Percy said.

"I rather not get expelled over microwaved cinnamon rolls" Jared groaned and gave him a pleading look. Percy laughed.

"When are you going to do this...raid?" Percy asked.

"Uh...Tomorrow night." Jared said. He grinned.

"Still no" Percy said.

"Charlotte would be there" Jared said in a feeble attempt to draw Percy in. Percy shook his head

"Yeah, no. Nice try though" He said. Jared groaned and and walked over to his desk and sat down to start his homework. Percy rolled off his bed and tossed his notes to the side

"That's enough of this for the night" He said as he strolled over to the door and slipped his slippers on.

"I'm going out." Percy said. Jared grunted a response and Percy proceeded to leave.

Percy slipped slipped out of the dorm room, making sure no one heard a sound of the closing door. He looked both ways also ensuring the coast was clear before dashing out. He made one right turn, before ducking into a staircase. After making it in he looked around before going down the stairs. Percy quickly sped down all the flights of stairs until he reached the basement. He snuck through the dark hallways before bursting from the back exit and jogging out. After checking his watch momentarily, his light jog turned into a sprint. reaching the woods, he didn't stop his tear. He burst into it and flew inside it leaping over all types branches and roots before reaching a small clearing where a holographic image was in the small beam of sunlight. He bent down, breathing heavy and exhausted

"Your late" Hera, The Queen of the gods said.

Line break

"Excited for Thursday?" Hera said. Percy beamed

"Yeah mom" He said. Fidgeting excitedly. He looked up.

"You did said you had a surprise for me" He added. Hera smiled.

"Have you been reading the book I sent you?" Hera asked. Percy chuckled nervously.

"Well, My teacher took my book so I couldn't..." He said. Hera sighed and rolled her eyes in annoyance

"Mortals" She muttered before speaking again.

"How excited are you?" She asked. Percy shrugged

"Well, it depends..." He started.

"On what?" Hera responded.

"How good the gift is..." He said. Percy trailed off when he saw the look on Hera's face.

"I meant..er-kinda like...how natural and-" Hera chuckled

"Its fine. and I know you will be excited about this." She said. Percy smiled

"What is it?" He asked getting a tad bit excited

"Well, You're leaving the school and going some place special" She said. Percy excited face dropped. He stood in the silence.

"What's the problem." Hera said. She probably expected him to be jumping up and down in excitement

"I-I cant." Percy managed to get out. Hera narrowed his eyes

"Sorry it can't be the way you want it to" Hera said with heavy amounts of sarcasm.

"I..."

"Don't worry, this place is way more fun." She added.

"But mom, I have friends here, I can't jus-" he started

"Oh no don't worry about them sweetheart, we'll just use the mist, they'll forget it" she said.

"No. No that's not what i mean" Percy started This was a disaster.

"I can leave them. I love them" he cried out. Hera gave him a look. Percy sat up and rubbed his face. Things weren't going his way at all.

"Mortals?" Hers said, a face of disgust.

"God that school has made you soft. Doesn't matter anyway since you will be leaving." She spat out

"I-I can't-" Percy started

"You WILL be LEAVING." She repeated, this time, it sounded more like an order.

"I want to stay. For at least a day?" Percy pleaded. Hera's gaze softened. Percy clasped his hands together and gave his best "puppy dog face." Hera gritted her teeth

"One extra day. Be there by 6 am. Before anyone wakes up. We cant have anyone seeing you" Hera hissed. Percy sighed. Hera's scowl turned into a chirpy smile

"I'll see you then, love you, BYE." She said. The image disapeared. Percy's shoulders sank.

One more day.

Line break

Percy pushed open the door and trudged in gloomily. He placed down his bag and glanced at Jared who was asleep. He checked his watch

6:00.

lazy ass

Percy thought as he walked to his closet. Checking once again if Jared was asleep. After checking he went into his closet ensuring to grab his sword. The closet ended up leading to a small arena, about 25 sq. feet had dummy's lined up all across the stone gray walls and all sorts of painting and shields across the wall scattered across the arena. It was a gift for his 6th birthday and It was sort of his place to blow off some steam. Percy walked up to one of the dummies and immediately began hacking with precision and force slicing into all the vital places with force. Unfortunately for him, the strikes didn't really do any damage to the dummy. As always. He sighed stuck his sword in the ground. This is why he didn't go in the training room much. He dropped the sword and kicked it to the side. He picked up his daggers and began to slash again. This time, the dummy didn't stand a chance, Multiple pieces of cotton and leather tore off the dummy. After the complete mutilation of the doll, He tore to daggers out of his chest. He sighed and inspected the daggers...weird. He knew all the Techniques of the sword, It felt comfortable in his hand, and he could move with it with no problem. But the daggers...they actually work. He struck the dummy with a dagger, it cut through the skin perfectly. He the stabbed the dummy with his sword, it failed to break skin. He walked to a table and placed his hand on it. Percy paused for a second before heaving his sword up and slamming it on his arm. It didn't even break skin. He stroked his chin. Either he had ridiculous durability, the sword was dull, or someone placed some type of weird charm on it. Percy bit his lip. He seriously doubted that his skin was that strong, considering the fact that the dummies were severely unaffected by the sword, then it easily ruled it out. He held up the sword. It looked pretty sharp. He held his daggers next to his sword. There was barely a difference between the two. Now, looks could be deceiving, and the sword could be terribly dull, but that most likely wasn't the case. Percy placed down the sword and the daggers. He probably should watch out. The only sword that worked was the one he got for his tenth birthday which had disappeared after the first day. and after today, he had a sneaking suspicion where it was.

And unfortunately, He knew exactly how to get it

Line Break (another one)

Percy walked out of the shower to Jared laying his head on the desk.

"Why are you so glum?" Percy asked throwing a shirt on.

"You still tired?" He asked. Jared looked up

"nah...just stressed. Look at this." Percy walked up the desk and looked at the horrifically drawn plan of a way to raid the cafe. Percy laughed and grabbed the paper. He pulled a chair and slid into the seat next to Jared.

"Lemme help with this" Percy said. He then paused for moment. This raid was wildly unexpected, and weird. But of course, this was a way to get the sword, a way to get his book, and most importantly, It was one last stand.

Hey, my mans!! Its chapter 2. Solid chapter overall.
