After all 4 of them had breakfast, Olivia carried the beach bag on her shoulder so they could go straight to the beach, just a few minutes walk from the hotel, once they'd eaten.

Trevor laying out towels and a large, plastic backed, picnic blanket that Olivia had helpfully packed, Olivia tasked with watching the kids for five minutes as Trevor popped into a nearby shop, planning to surprise the children with new buckets and spades for their time on the beach.

Trevor returned, producing the buckets and spades from behind his back, getting a series of hugs and excited 'thank you's from Katie and Noah.

They spent the morning digging happily in the sand, Trevor and Olivia alternating between helping Charlotte and Cameron build the 'biggest sandcastle ever, ever, ever, in the whole, entire world'.

"Is this going to be the bestest sandcastle ever?" Noah said to Trevor as he tipped his full bucket upside down onto the pile of sand they'd already built.

Trevor smiled "I think it might be" Trevor agreed, helping Noah pat the top of his bucket before he lifted it off, cheering when it didn't collapse, "you're getting the hang of it now" he praised him, her gaze drawn a little further down the beach where Katie was walking hand in hand with Olivia her bucket in Olivia's hand, the pair of them looking for shells and 'pretty things' to decorate the sand castle.

It was almost 10 minutes later when Olivia and Katie returned, Noah still working hard on his sandcastle "Noah" Katie grinned as she put down the bucket she was carrying beside him "look I got."

Noah peered into the bucket, smiling when he saw it was fill of little pebbles, shells and even some seaweed, "wow, thanks Katie, this sandcastle is going to be the best."

Katie smiled as she sat down beside Noah and loudly whispered to him, "I know a secret."

Noah's face lit up, "tell me?"

Katie looked up at Olivia who was stood beside her, a plastic tray in her hands and she nodded, giving permission for Katie to tell him the secret, "' we got us ice cream" she beamed.

Noah's head snapped up to look at Olivia, "really?"

"Really" she smiled, carefully passing Trevor the tray so she could join her family on the sand, "drinks and ice creams all round.

Every started digging in, Katie too already eating her ice cream.

Trevor smiled, "do I even need to ask what that is?" he gestured towards Olivia's drink, watching as she passed cups of juice to Katie and Noah once they'd finished their ice cream.

Olivia winked cheekily at Trevor and passed him a cup, "I think you know what it is" she smirked, before leaning in to whisper, "however, at this time of day it's a virgin" she teased, referring to the fact there was no alcohol in the cocktail, "as is yours."

"That's probably for the best" Trevor chuckled, "but maybe we could try the real thing later?" Olivia raised one eyebrow and Trevor laughed, "get your mind out of the gutter Benson, I meant the cocktails."

Olivia bit her lip and smirked at Trevor as she took another sip of her drink, "shame."

They let the children finish their sandcastle once they'd finished their drinks, Olivia and Trevor helped Noah and Katie before taking several pictures of the children with their sandcastle, "can I jump on it now?" Noah asked once they'd finished taking the pictures.

"You want to knock it down?" Trevor asked and both Noah and Katie nodded excitedly, "go on then" Trevor smiled as Noah took his Katie's hand, "one...two...three." On his count they ran towards the sandcastle before jumping on top of it, sending sand everywhere.

Once they were finished, both children were covered in sand, not to mention ice cream, "who wants to go in the sea?" Trevor asked them, knowing it would wash most of the sand off them.

Two excited shrieks lead to Trevor and Olivia grabbing all the inflatables and taking the children down to the shore, Noah and Katie happy to paddle in the shallow waters, jumping over the gentle waves as Trevor helped Noah get his armbands on so they could wade deeper into the water.

They didn't go in far, both Trevor and Olivia were still able to touch the floor, and, after a little coaxing from Noah, and reassurances from Trevor and Olivia, Katie relaxed enough to stop clinging to Trevor, trusting her armbands to keep her afloat as she splashed in the calm waters with Noah.

"So" Trevor smiled, his fingers linking with Olivia's under the water, "are you okay?"

Olivia squeezed Trevor's hand and returned the smile, "I am, are you."

Trevor nodded, the smile still on his face as he took a chance and gave Olivia a quick kiss on the cheek, "happier than I've been in a long time."
