Olivia had decided to make something rather interesting for dinner that night. Trevor had texted to let her know he'd be home on time, barring anything unexpected in the next hour. Olivia was already halfway through her enormously complex recipe and had Lucy take the kids for the night. She was getting really ambitious with her cooking. Probably something to think about in the near future.
Olivia hummed along to the music that she had put on and It was nice to have the noise of the music to keep her company while Trevor was still at work. But the music was loud enough to keep Olivia from hearing the front door open. She just went about her tasks until a pair of large hands snaked around her waist, making her jump with surprise.
"Jesus, Trevor!" she shrieked.
He chuckled in her ear and kissed her cheek. "I'm sorry to frighten you."
She relaxed into his embrace and sighed happily. "I didn't hear you come in.
"I've been busy making the Beef Wellington," Olivia replied.
Trevor gave her another little kiss before letting her go. "Beef Wellington, you say? What's the occasion?"
"The occasion is that it's Thursday and I was bored. So I learned how to make Beef Wellington."
They sat down for supper a few minutes later. Trevor set the table as Olivia finished off the meal. It was incredibly good. Olivia complained that she'd burned it a bit, but Trevor was amazed at how delicious it was.
"Like everything else you do, Olivia, this is wonderful," he told her.
Olivia just smiled in response. "I've never been much good at receiving compliments, but you give me so many, I feel like I'm getting used to it."
"Good. I love giving you compliments".
He stood up and took their empty plates off the table. "Let's get the dishes done. You dirtied up about a million of them making all this wonderful food, and I'll need your help if I'm going to get them all washed before midnight," he teased.
Just for that, Olivia took her napkin and swatted Trevor's bum with it. He laughed as he walked to the sink, leaving Olivia to pick up the rest of the place settings.
