They both woke in the middle of the night for no reason at all. Olivia turned to him and kissed him insistently. She let out a tiny little moan he'd heard before, and he knew what that meant. "You're beau…"
"Ssh," she said, putting a finger to his lips. She smiled and kissed him again. Without any words at all, they made love quietly in the middle of the night. Very quickly she drifted off into sleep. He kissed her hair and then settled down next to her, this time into a very restful sleep.
"You are not serious," Trevor said as he got dressed.
"There's nothing wrong with me," Olivia said as she picked up her favourite tie of his.
"You were shot a few days ago," Trevor said. "Forgive me if I think going to work too soon is idiotic."
"I'll be behind a desk, I'll be fine."
"I've heard that before," Trevor said. "I worry."
"Don't," she said. "I'll be home before you know it." Before Trevor could argue further she'd left the bedroom and was heading downstairs. Trevor heard Katie and Noah following their mom clearly hungry for breakfast. Trevor used the bathroom before going into the kitchen where Katie was happily munching on her toast and Noah was eating a banana. "Don't look at me like that," Olivia said.
"You didn't even turn around," Trevor said, trying to stop the smile from forming on his face.
"I didn't have to," Olivia said, finally facing him. His eyes ran over her intently and Olivia felt her face burn with the look of passion in his eyes. Not exactly appropriate in front of their kids but Katie and Noah was too busy concentrating on eating to notice.
"Daddy, can we go swimming today?" they asked.
"Yes of course," Trevor said. Kids would you like mommy to come "You'd like that wouldn't you?"
"Yes!" they said with a wide smile.
"Typical," Olivia said.
"Come with us please don't go back to work yet please give it a few more days please." His worry was clear, even underneath the teasing.
"Okay I will," she said. He kissed her briefly
"When can we go?" they asked. Olivia and Trevor smiled and ruffled their hairs happily.
