The New Boy To Pine Hollow
Over at Pine Hollow the very next day, the student riders were gathered in the lounge.
When Max entered with a 16-year-old jet black haired boy with green eyes by his side.
"Everyone, this is our new riding student, Daniel Montegue," Max introduced. "his parents died when he was three-years-old and left him in the care of Deborah and me, he's been attending Wentorth Academy and riding there during the school year, this is the first summer holiday he's had with Deborah and me in thirteen years."
Daniel signed something to Max, "What horse will I be riding?" he asked in sign language.
"I will be assigning you to Star," Max answered Daniel. "she's very easy for disabled riders."
"Yes! I can't wait!" Daniel signed.
Daniel was a natural with tacking up a horse having ridden at the boarding school he attended.
Once tacked up, Daniel was ready for that day's riding lesson, he didn't even mind riding a female pony in the lesson.
After the lesson ended, Daniel put Star back into her stall and went into the lounge for lunch.
A few days later, Daniel and Deborah went for groceries in town.
Carmen was in the tack room mending Star's tack.
When all of a sudden, Carmen heard the door to the tack room slam right behind her.
Carmen then and there raced to the door, she had been locked in.
"Let me out of here! Let me out of here!" Carmen exclaimed, pounding on the door furiously.
It was of no use, no one was around to hear Carmen, or so she thought.
