A Parental Chat

Carmen blew into her parents' trailer like a rushing wind.

"Carmen, what brings you here?" Vito Junior asked.

"Father," Carmen said. "Lavinia swiped my new jacket and had her brother hang it up on the left flagpole on top of the big top."

"What?" Carmina asked.

"Yeah," Carmen said. "and there's a storm moving in!"

"I think you'd better have a talk with their parents after you make them retrieve that jacket!" Carmina said to her husband.

Vito Junior nodded.

"Lavinia and her brother could use a talking to, they been getting more and more out of hand recently." Vito Junior said, getting up. "I've even been suspicious that Lavinia's been trying to sabotage some of the other acts."

"I'm sure she has," Carmen said, walking toward the entrance with her mom and dad. "Lavinia thinks she always has to be the center of attention and you know that she's been after the center ring ever since she got her own act!"

Carmina looked out the window at the sky, the storm was getting closer.

"Carmen," Carmina said. "why don't you spend the night here? You can stay in your old bedroom."

"Spend the night? But Mother," Carmen protested. "Rafael and Lisa will be wondering where the heck I am!"

"Not to worry about that," Vito Junior said to Carmen. "I will phone them before I talk to Mister and Missis Morello."

"Thanks, Father." Carmen said.

Carmen skipped off to bed happily.

After Rafael and Lisa were notified, Vito Junior went to pay the Morello family a quick visit.
