AN: While my original plan with Geats was with Cyberpunk Edgerunners, I saw another anime that would work better with Geats and a Kamen Rider that works better with Edgerunners. So, I will post what I had in mind soon enough, and hopefully, will work out for the better. Now, Showtime!

Kamen Rider Geats: The Show Must Go On
A young man in a school uniform was minding his own business as he was on his way home from school. He had pale skin, short blonde hair, and blue eyes with a star in his right eye visible to no one in particular. His name was Aquamarine Hoshino, or Aqua for short.
Usually, his twin sister, Ruby, would walk with him back home, but she couldn't join him due to her rushing to make it to her idol auditions. Aqua could do nothing but sigh at his sister's misplaced charisma and naivety towards becoming an idol despite…
"Aquamarine Hoshino?" A female voice called out to him.
Aqua snapped out of his thoughts as he saw a beautiful woman with long black hair tied in a ponytail. She was wearing a peculiar black and white outfit and held a box in her hand.
"Yes? How did you know my name? Can I help you?" Aqua responded.
"Congratulations! After much consideration, you have been selected to join the Desire Grand Prix!" The woman announced, confusing the teen. "As of this day, you are now a Kamen Rider!"
"Kamen Rider?" Aqua was confused before the woman confused him further by handing over the box.
"We look forward to seeing you participate!" The woman said enthusiastically as she then walked away, leaving a confused Aqua.
"Desire Grand Prix?" Aqua wondered as he looked at the box. Was it a contest? It sounded like one. A very shady contest considering Aqua never heard of the event or signed himself up. He concluded that this was either a prank or a very poorly done scam.
Aqua walked to the nearby trashcan and was about to throw away the box, but a part of him couldn't help but wonder what was inside. He figured that there was no harm in looking as he then slid off the top to see a black and white device, a small white circular device with the emblem of a fox on a red background, and a card with listed instructions.
"'Welcome to the Desire Grand Prix. By receiving this Desire Driver and ID Core, you have been chosen to participate in the DGP. To accept this invitation, please follow the listed instructions further down below.'" Aqua read as he looked at the items once more and the trashcan right in front of him.
He was on the verge of just throwing all this away and pretending this never happened, but a part of him was curious as to what exactly was the Desire Grand Prix and why was he chosen. Plus, that woman from before knew his name, so what else does she know and how?
Aqua couldn't let it go as his mind worried about this potential information leak, especially considering…
The teen shook his head to get out of that dark place as he stepped away from the trashcan and walked to an empty alleyway nearby where no one was looking. He then proceeded to read the instructions.
"'Step 1: Place the Desire Driver on your waist and allow it to latch on.'" Aqua read as he took out the black device and placed it on his waist.
"DESIRE DRIVER!"
Aqua was surprised as a belt formed from the small device and attached itself to the young man. This was highly advanced tech from the looks of it. He then continued reading.
"'Step 2: Insert the ID Core into the slot located in the center of the Driver.'"
He then took the white ID Core out of the box and inserted it into the center slot.
"ENTRY!"
The device emitted a bright light that momentarily blinded Aqua and when he came to, he suddenly found himself on a platform floating hundreds of feet in the air surrounded by pillars and strange machines that rotated along the place. The DGP logo was in the center of the platform.
Aqua looked around shocked at the advanced technology that it took him a moment to register the fact that there were several people with him all wearing Desire Drivers, but with different ID Cores.
'These are also participants?' Aqua wondered as that woman from before suddenly appeared in the center of the platform on an elevated pedestal.
"Greetings, everyone!" The woman greeted, getting everyone's attention. "My name is Tsumuri and I will be your navigator! Let me be the first to welcome you all to the Desire Grand Prix!"
Everyone was silent as they all paid attention to the navigator, especially Aqua as he wanted to know what all this was about.
"Now, you must all be confused as to what the Desire Grand Prix is and why you are here to participate in it. Well, you have all been chosen to fight as Kamen Riders to protect this world from monsters known as the Jyamatos. If left unchecked, they will invade and consume your world."
"So that's what this is all about?" A skeptical man asked. "We're being conscripted into a war?"
"That is one way to look at this." Tsumuri replied. "But, the DGP doesn't expect you all to fight for free or out of the goodness of your hearts. While the DGP is created to combat the Jyamato threat, it is a contest. The winning Rider will be crowned the God of Desire and may have their ideal world. In other words, any wish you have may be granted."
Aqua's eyes widened at that while the other participants started talking amongst themselves. Before, Aqua only lived on revenge for what happened to his mother Ai, whose life was taken so early in his childhood by a deranged fan. While the fan later committed suicide, Aqua knew this scum was sent by his father. He waited years for a chance at revenge, but now he has the ability to undo everything.
Ai can finally perform at the Tokyo Dome, grow old with him and his sister, and finally have the love she craved for. He would still hunt for his father, but bringing Ai back was a higher priority.
"Now, please write your wish on your Desire Card." Tsumuri instructed as all the players suddenly had blank cards in one hand and a quill in the other.
As they all started writing down their wishes, the blonde teen eagerly wrote his.
"A world where Ai Hoshino survived her attack."
But just as he finished writing that…the wish vanished.
"What?" Aqua let out as he tried again, only for the wish to erase itself. The more attempts that he tried, the darker the star in his eye has become. His hopes of reviving his late mother suddenly taken as it was received. Was the DGP unable to grant this wish?
He looked around and saw others' wishes being accepted as the pen writing turned into bold text. Seeing a variety of wishes being accepted, including a revival, meant that the DGP does have the ability to resurrect people, but not Ai.
His shock was soon replaced with skeptical apprehension as Aqua realized something was wrong here and his mind raced through all the logical conclusions he can come up with. Then one thought made him realize something….
'Ai…Ai is alive.'
Aqua wrote down his next wish.
'A world where Ai Hoshino is with her family.'
Soon enough, that wish was immediately erased, which only arouse more suspicion on Aqua's part. While he could wish to find or kill his father, the truth regarding his mother has now taken a high priority.
'If I even win that wish for my father, I won't be any step closer to figuring out why the DGP won't let me do anything with Ai. There's only one way to find out for sure…' Aqua then wrote his wish.
That wish was accepted as it turned into text. Everyone turned their cards in to Tsumuri, who accepted them with a wide smile on her face.
(Meanwhile in Akihabara)
Everyone was screaming in panic and fear as strange humanoid creatures with white heads that resembled pawn pieces wearing black white-lined suits took their last victims into the
arcade building, one of the most notable buildings in the area.
(In the Desire Temple)
"All wishes have been accounted for! With that, we shall proceed to the first mission!" Tsumuri announced as she then pulled up a holographic screen, showing a top-down map of Akihabara. "The Jyamatos have recently claimed the major arcade building, taking hostages and marking the building as their own with a flag. This mission has 3 objectives."
Everyone was quiet and listening intently.
"Your first objective is to rescue the hostages. Second, capture the flag and dispose of it in this designated area. The flag is their anchor and as soon as it is gone, they're gone. Lastly, you must defeat the Boss Jyamato guarding the flag. Any questions?"
"Yeah!" A woman raised her hand. "Do you expect all of us to fight unprepared?"
"Nonsense! You will spawn into the area in suitable combat gear and an item that you can use with your belt to transform! The remaining Riders will advance to the next round!"
"Remaining?" Aqua asked next.
"This game has your lives on the line. Any civilians killed or buildings destroyed will be revived. However, Riders are the one exception."
"You didn't mention any of that before!"
"Which is why I'm mentioning this now. Any players here are free to leave at any point."
With that said, none of the players chose to leave. They were all either greedy or prideful to step out now.
"Good luck, Kamen Riders!" Tsumuri wished as everyone teleported away into blue pixels.
(At Akihabara)
Aqua and the rest of the contestants were teleported in front of the arcade building that the Jyamatos had invaded. The blonde teen took one step forward to see that his outfit has changed along with everyone else, save for the belts still latched onto them.
For the men, they wore black and blue hooded jackets with matching pants, kneepads, and boots. For women, they wore the same thing, but instead of pants, they wore matching shorts with leggings underneath.
In front of each of them were Mission Boxes, which Aqua assumed contained the item that Tsumuri mentioned. The teen picked up his and opened the box, to find a black device with a pink mallet on it.
"What is this?" Aqua questioned.
As the blonde teen studied and tried to figure out how to use it, the Pawn Jyamatos took notice of him and the rest of the players before attacking.
"How the hell do we use these things!?" One player questioned, looking at his item before being gang-rushed by the monsters. All the other players can only watch in horror as the Jyamatos eviscerate the poor man.
"Oh dear god…" One of the players remarked before the monsters stopped, eyeing the other players. Aqua noticed the now-dead player crackling in red pixels as the ID Core in his belt cracked.
"MISSION FAILED!"
And with that, the man's body disintegrated into digital dust. All the remaining players either tried to fight or flee from the scene. Aqua was trying to figure out what his next move would be before a Pawn Jyamato noticed him, rushed at him, and knocked the young man down to the ground.
Aqua fell on his back as his item flew from his hand, landing on the floor at the feet of another player. This player picked up the item and looked at Aqua, who was about to get stabbed.
"Ryausogn kajev!" The Pawn Jyamato roared before it noticed that same player rushing at them.
He placed Aqua's hammer item into the right side of his belt, which lit up at the combination.
"SET!"
"Henshin!"
He pressed down on the hammer.
"ARMED HAMMER!"
"READY? FIGHT!"
Two metallic rings appeared around him, and moved up and down, before placing him in a black body suit. A brown gigantic bear mask with a star for the left eye and a circle on the right dropped onto the helmet. He was soon donned in a gladiator chest harness with one armored shoulder pad and a pink armored chest plating on his torso with the icon of a hammer.
The two were caught off-guard by the transformation, allowing the Rider to smash his hammer into the Pawn Jyamato's face.
"Arrghh!" The Pawn Jyamato yelped in pain as he flew off Aqua and exploded.
Aqua only took deep breaths as the bear Rider offered him a hand up.
"Oi, come on!" The man urged as the blonde teen took his hand, got up, and the two ran for a nearby alleyway.
Unknown to them, a female player with waist-length dark green hair and yellow-green eyes with slit-like pupils followed them.
"We should be safe here." The bear Rider said as Aqua huffed in exhaustion.
"Thanks for that, um…"
"Kamen Rider Grizz." Grizz introduced himself before taking out his phone and pulling up the player listings. "And you are…Aqua Hoshino. Kamen Rider Geats."
"Geats?"
"Your Rider/Player name. I guess this is your first time?" Grizz theorized.
"Yeah, you?"
"Third time," Grizz answered before looking at the girl hiding behind a trashcan. "And I see we're not alone."
Aqua looked back as the girl revealed herself.
"I can get distrust between players, but during a co-op game? You must be a first-timer too." Grizz said as the girl nodded before he looked at his phone again. "Frill Shirainui…Kamen Rider Lopo. Ah, looks like we have quite a celebrity."
"You know, you could've just asked me." Frill said, looking a little annoyed.
"Sorry, force of habit." Grizz apologized as Aqua eyed the hammer device in Grizz's belt.
"That was my item. I'd appreciate it if you can give it back."
Grizz chuckled as he shook his head.
"Newbie, you have a lot to learn about this game. You don't just help the competition to that degree. But, tell you what, I'm a fair man." Grizz said before pulling out an item box. "You can keep the item I was originally given."
Aqua only eyed the man in suspicion before taking the box.
"Well, it's better than nothing," Grizz said.
"So why save us if we're just competitors to you?" Frill asked.
Grizz said nothing but gestured for the two players to follow him. Seeing no other choice, the two teens followed and the three stopped at the end, seeing the monsters finish off some of the other players while guarding the main entrance.
"We may be rivals here, but this is a co-op game. Only an idiot would think they can brute force this game by themselves." Grizz explained.
"Agreed. The only way we can save the hostages and secure the building is to work together." Aqua proposed.
"My thoughts exactly." The bear Rider agreed as he looked at Frill. "And you?"
"Like you said, I'm just a newbie here. Teaming up seems to be the obvious solution." The woman said in a calm tone.
"That settles it! At least for this game, you two and I are in for the long haul together." Grizz remarked before the three backed themselves into the alleyway. "So any of you have any bright ideas on how to get inside?"
"Afraid I don't know much about this area to say for sure," Aqua replied, getting Grizz to tilt his helmet in confusion.
"Eh? But you're a teenage boy! I thought Akihabara would be like a second home to you!" Grizz remarked before getting examining Aqua a bit closer. "I see…you're one of those 'mature' type teens, aren't you? Take it from me, kid. Act your age while you got it."
Aqua only raised an eyebrow before Frill stepped forward.
"If I may, I have shot a promotional video for this building before. I know a service entrance that should be less known." Frill proposed.
"See? Now, that's what I'm talking about! Lead the way." Grizz said as Frill nodded and started leading the two.
(At the Desire Temple)
Tsumuri was watching the holographic monitors intently as she noted the players' progress.
"We're only a few minutes in and a third of the players have already been eliminated." Tsumuri noted as she looked at the player listing, seeing a good number of them dulled out with a red label saying, "LOSE".
She then looked curiously at the monitor showing Aqua, Frill, and Kamen Rider Grizz.
"Now, what about you three?" The navigator wondered curiously.
(With Aqua, Frill, and Grizz)
Frill led her companions around the area until they found the side entrance to the building with only a couple of lesser Jyamatos guarding the area.
"The place is lightly guarded."
"Of course, the bulk of the force would guard the most obvious," Grizz remarked. "We can take them. Ready?"
The two teens nodded as Grizz charged first, smashing the first guard with his mallet. Frill took out her device, resembling the hammer one but there was a yellow claw on it. The celebrity slid the device into the right side of her Driver.
"SET!"
The holographic logo and symbol of "CLAW" appeared next to her. The green-haired girl took a stretch before pulling on the switch.
"Henshin!"
"ARMED CLAW!"
"READY? FIGHT!"
Frill was soon placed in a black body suit and helmet before a blue and white wolf mask fell onto her helmet. She soon gained armor similar to Grizz's. but the logo was that of a claw, the straps were yellow, and she gained a pair of yellow shovel-like claw gauntlets. This was Kamen Rider Lopo.
"Alright…" Lopo charged and quickly finished the remaining monster, slicing him to pieces before Aqua had a chance to use his belt.
"Good work, let's hurry inside before these guys grow a brain and figure out what's going on." Grizz proposed, getting a nod from Lopo and Aqua. While the two Riders went inside first, Aqua used this chance to open the item box Grizz gave him, revealing a larger device than the one the others used. It was crescent-shaped with a disk resembling a revolver chamber and a trigger attached to it.
'Why does this one look different?' Aqua wondered before heading inside and following the others.
The trio found themselves in the storage area before working their way into the staff-restricted halls. They've done their best to avoid any Jyamatos, most likely the latter were taking care of the other players either at the front door or outside.
Within moments, they found themselves in the back of the arcade where the hostages were being kept.
"There's the hostages!" Lopo quietly remarked as they hid behind game cabinets.
"Alright, we need a plan then." Grizz said, looking at the guarding Jyamatos. "Aqua, can you free the hostages? Lopo and I will distract the guards here."
Aqua nodded before the bear Rider looked at the wolf.
"On three…one…two…THREE!"
Both Grizz and Lopo ran out into the open and started fighting the startled guards, while Aqua approached the frightened civilians and untied them.
"The back entrance is clear! Use that while you can!" Aqua urged.
"Thank you so much!" Some of the civilians said as they got up and made a break for it. One of the Jyamatos noticed and broke off to intercept.
"Gatnjn Kaji!" it roared as it stopped a single mother with her kids hugging her legs.
"Kids, get back!" The mother urged as she was determined to defend her kids as the monster before she readied its blade.
Aqua noticed this and felt his heart stop as history started to repeat. It took all his willpower to roar and charge at the scene. As the monster was about to swing, Aqua tackled and pinned it down.
"Hurry and run! NOW!" Aqua urged as the small family nodded and escaped. The monster then threw Aqua off onto the ground before getting on its feet, ready to kill him in retaliation. Aqua quickly went for his Buckle, but…
"HAMMER STRIKE!"
SMASH!
Grizz smacked his powered hammer into the side of Jyamato's face, literally smashing it to bits. The monster's body fell limp as Grizz looked down at Aqua.
"Are you crazy!? Trying to face down a Jyamato without your suit? You know civilians get revived at the end of every game, right?"
"Sorry, I didn't think. I just…" He thought of his own mother. "I just didn't those kids to lose a mother. Even if they'd forget."
"Well…I guess that makes sense." Grizz then offered a hand up, which Aqua took while Lopo joined them. "Come on, the flag should be on the roof. Along with the boss."
The two nodded once more as Grizz took point with Lopo behind. Aqua was about to join in before his phone vibrated.
"SECRET MISSION CLEARED!"
"Huh?" Aqua pulled out his phone to read the notification.
"OBJECTIVE COMPLETE: RESCUE A CIVILIAN FROM CERTAIN DEATH." That was what the screen read.
Soon another item box popped up in Aqua's hands.
"An additional reward?" Aqua opened the box to find another Buckle resembling a red engine block with a motorcycle handle.
Aqua accepted the additional item as he followed his comrades up the express stairway to confront the boss.
The three made it to the rooftop and saw a bunch of Pawn Jyamatos waiting for them. Alongside them was a unique Jyamato. It had a green plant-like head with green roots spreading from underneath. Looks like this was the Boss of this game.
"What kind of Jyamato is that?" Lopo asked Grizz.
"A Rook. Not your typical Jyamato, he's a cut above the normal fodder. We're all gonna have to be on guard with this one." Grizz advised as the Rook Jyamato only grunted. It did not seem impressed by the three players that made it this far.
"Kyono basuf ga!" The Rook Jyamato shouted, pointing at the trio before the remaining Pawn Jyamatos on the roof charged at them.
Grizz and Lopo immediately retaliated, taking care of any hench monsters that tried to attack first.
Aqua steeled himself as he went into his pockets to grab the Buckles, only to be attacked by the Rook Jyamato. The blonde teen was hastily and barely dodging each strike the leader Jyamato tried to land before the latter got frustrated enough to strike Aqua in the chest with the pommel of his sword, causing the young man to get onto his back.
Aqua groaned in pain as the Rook Jyamato attempted to finish him off.
"HEY!"
Grizz got in between them and took that heavy slash across his chest for a bewildered Aqua.
"Aarrghhh!" The bear Rider yelled in pain before he weakly struck the boss in the head with his hammer.
"Hmph." The boss scoffed, not even intimidated by the weak blow before slashing Grizz multiple times and kicking him down next to Aqua.
"Grizz!" Aqua crawled to him as Lopo decided to back them up by attacking the Rook Jyamato. "Idiot, why would you do something that reckless!?"
Grizz laughed weakly from his helmet.
"I know we're supposed to be rivals and all, but it wouldn't sit right with me…watching a newbie like you go out before me. Besides, in a game like this, you have to be prepared to die to get your wish. Are you?" Grizz asked, causing Aqua to think back to when he died as Gorou Amamiya in failing to warn Ai Hoshino and when Ai herself was stabbed in trying to protect him, Ruby, and herself from that same stalker.
He remembered the feelings of powerlessness back then and now. Aqua clenched his fists as he was sick of that feeling. Grizz was right, Aqua was ready to die to win this game. But this time, it's because he has the power to change this world and save Ai this time.
The teen stood up and took out both his buckles. He glared at the Rook Jyamato, who only tossed Lopo aside.
"Hey! How about a fair fight this time?" Aqua questioned before sliding the white buckle into the right slot of his Driver and the red one into the left.
"SET!"
On Aqua's right side was a holographic energy revolver chamber with the logo, "MAGNUM". On his left was a holographic fiery red logo with the word, "BOOST",
Aqua pointed his right hand at the Rook Jyamato before snapping his fingers.
SNAP!
"Henshin!"
He turned the small wheel and pulled the trigger on his white buckle while revving the handle on his red buckle, allowing it to spew fire.
At that action, for Magnum, multiple energy bullets were shot out of the belt, with them flying around the logo before coming back and shooting right through. Then it dispersed into metalic parts/holograms before it forges into white armor.
For Boost, the flames destroyed the logo, and just like with Magnum, the remnants of the logo transformed into red armor with exhaust pipes. However, the armor was more built for the legs.
"DUAL ON!"
Two metallic rings appeared around him and moved up and down, placing a black body suit on him like the others before a kitsune mask dropped onto his helmet.
"GET READY FOR BOOST AND MAGNUM!"
The red and white armors were grabbed by holographic robotic hands that appeared from behind before being pulled into the man, solidifying. This turned his helmet's eyes orange and gave him a white and red mouthpiece while a white scarf emerged from his back. This was Kamen Rider Geats.
"READY? FIGHT!"
Geats examined his appearance, surprised as he looked more well-equipped compared to Grizz and Lopo.
"So, this is my Rider suit, huh?" Geats was intrigued for a brief moment before the Rook Jyamato charged at him next.
The new Rider dodged all of the monster's attacks easily before noticing a gun attached to the side of his belt. At the next dodge, Geats took the gun out and immediately pulled the trigger, firing multiple shots into his target's chest.
"MAGNUM SHOOTER 40X!"
The Rook Jyamato groaned in pain as it looked like Geats's gun did more damage than the other two's weapons.
"Basult kakeru!" The Rook Jyamato cursed as it got up before pointing its sword at Geats as the lesser Jyamatos surrounded him. "Kisalf! Kisalf!"
The Pawn Jyamatos charged weapons drawn, but as their weapons were about to meet Geats's body, Geats seemingly vanished.
"So, that's what 'Boost' meant."
They all turned to see Geats behind them, whose leg armor's exhaust pipes were smoking. The monsters roared as Geats opened fire at them, destroying a few in the process while Lopo finished her share of monsters and helped Grizz up.
"Are you okay?" The female Rider asked.
"I'll live…" Grizz groaned as Lopo took him to a safe spot on the roof and sat him against the wall.
"Stay here, I'll go help Aqua!" Lopo said as she rushed into the fight.
Meanwhile, Geats was easily dodging all the monsters' attacks before giving one of them a rocket-powered kick to the face, immediately destroying it. The others didn't have time to react as Geats immediately shot them away with his gun.
A Pawn Jyamato was about to charge from behind. As soon as Geats noticed, he tried raising his free arm in defense, only for a concealed gun barrel to pop out of his forearm armor and shot the monster in the face, instantly killing it.
"I see Magnum lives up to its name literally." Geats remarked as he started dual-wielding both guns against the monsters. They were dropping like flies, much to the frustration of the Rook Jyamato.
The remaining trio of Pawns leaped in the air, ready to attack the fox Rider. Geats braced himself before…
"CLAWS STRIKE!"
Lopo appeared behind the monsters with her claws lit with energy before slashing all three at once, causing them to explode. The woman landed on her feet before walking towards Geats.
"I'm not gonna let you hog all the points." She joked as Geats only nodded in acknowledgment.
Now it was only the Rook Jyamato left, who seemed less than pleased with the destruction of its minions.
"All that's left is you, Boss." Geats commented before looking at Lopo. "Alright, I'll try to wear his defenses down from a distance. You seal the gap in distance between us, got it?"
"Sure, now let's take this thing down!"
Geats nodded.
"Right, let's make this one for the highlight reel!" Geats proclaimed as he aimed and started shooting while Lopo charged like the wolf she is.
The Rook Jyamato at first blocked the shots with his sword before seeing Lopo right in front of it. Lopo then used the element of surprise to land an upper slash against the Rook's chest.
"Arrghh!" The monster roared in pain as it stumbled back. It tried using its sword again but was immediately shot by Geats while Lopo followed up with another set of slashes.
The Rook Jyamato flew and landed on the ground as it groaned in pain from the attacks. It stood up and was now beyond angry.
"Now's the time to finish it!" Lopo proclaimed as she pulled on her Claws buckle.
"CLAWS STRIKE!"
Lopo's clawed gauntlets lit with energy once more as she leaped, only to be caught by the wrist before she can even land the finishing blow.
"W-What!?" Lopo was caught off-guard before the Rook Jyamato was shot once more by Geats.
The Rook only growled before tossing Lopo off the roof. Before she can plummet to her death, Lopo manages to impale her claws into the wall, stopping her fall. The female Rider sighed in relief as she looked down and saw a few Riders still fighting the leftover Pawn Jyamatos barring the main entrance.
Lopo shook her head as she then focused on climbing back up via her claws.
"Frill!" Geats tried going after her but the Rook Jyamato shoulder-charged into him, causing Geats to land on his back on the ground. His gun also flew out of his hand and across the roof, landing on the other side.
The Rook Jyamato readied its sword for the finisher before Grizz leaped from behind and latched onto the boss Jyamato.
"Grizz!"
"Geats, use the Boost Buckle! Its power should be more than enough to finish off this monster!" Grizz instructed as Geats got up on his feet and nodded.
He revved the Boost Buckle once.
"BOOSTSTRIKER!"
Just then a red motorcycle with Geats's emblem suddenly appeared and landed on the roof before transforming into a mechanical fox. The fox shrieked before whipping its tail at the two, separating Grizz and the Rook Jyamato.
Booststriker shrieked again before pouncing onto the Rook Jyamato, clawing at it. It soon got off before grabbing the Rook Jyamato by the neck and tossing it towards its master's feet.
That was when Geats decided to end this once and for all as he spun the chamber and pulled the trigger of the Magnum Buckle, followed by revving the Boost Buckle twice.
"BOOST TIME!"
The exhaust mufflers on Geats's ankles pointed downward and propelled him upwards while the mechanical fox flew up with him. Once they were high up in the air, Geats landed on his companion's back as he got a good look at the beast before revving the Boost Buckle one last time.
"MAGNUM-BOOST: GRAND VICTORY!"
Geats then jumped off the mechanical kitsune and his exhaust mufflers rotated upwards, allowing the Rider to fly at the monster in a burning sidekick with the Booststriker following behind him for an added boost. A large image of his icon appeared at his feet as Geats's attack went through the Rook Jyamato, causing it to die in a fiery explosion.
Grizz stood up as Geats landed on his feet from the explosion. Just then, the bear Rider suddenly started bracing himself, much to Geats's confusion.
"Is something wrong-?" Just then Geats noticed his Boost Buckel overheating red before it suddenly flew off his belt. It flew around before heading towards the sky. "What was that?"
"The Boost Buckle is one of the more powerful items in this game. But unfortunately, its finisher makes it a one-time use item." Grizz explained.
"You knew that and you made me waste it?" Geats asked, feeling betrayed. He should've seen this coming, seeing that they're all rivals to begin with.
"Let's not beat around the bush here. This worked out for both of us. You took down the boss and saved our skins, while a competitor loses a pretty useful item in the process." Grizz explained before gesturing Geats to calm down. "Ah, but don't look so gloomy! The Boost Buckle will most likely appear again multiple times throughout the DGP!"
Geats said nothing but Grizz could tell he was still annoyed underneath that helmet.
"Hey! A little help here!" Lopo called as she was now back at their level.
"I'll remember this." Geats warned Grizz as he went off to help Lopo.
"No. No, you won't." Grizz quietly muttered before walking off.
Geats found Lopo hanging onto the edge before helping her back onto the roof.
"You okay?" Geats asked, getting a nod from Lopo.
"Just about. So, you killed the boss?"
Geats nodded back.
"Great, let's get the flag and end the ga-."
"MISSION CLEARED!"
The two looked and saw that Grizz removed the flag, ending the game and scoring a lot of points with the remaining Pawn Jyamatos retreating.
"Another lesson for you newbies; don't take your eyes off your rivals!"
The two other Riders said nothing and just glared at Grizz before they and the other remaining Riders teleported away back to the Desire Temple.
(At the Desire Temple)
Tsumuri smiled as everyone, in their civilian forms, appeared on the platform. Wounded and exhausted, but still alive.
"Welcome back, everyone!" Tsumuri greeted. "Congratulations on completing the mission! Before we proceed, allow me to present to you all the top player of the leaderboard for this round!"
Tsumuri pressed a few buttons on her tablet before…
Aqua Hoshino/Kamen Rider Geats – 20,000 Points
Aqua and Frill looked really surprised at that.
"Excuse me, but how did I get the most points? Grizz collected the flag." Aqua pointed out.
"But you're the one who defeated the boss, freed the civilians, and cleared the Secret Mission! Even though the main objectives grant a lot of points, we at the DGP take everything you do during the missions into account when it comes to proper score evaluation." Tsumuri explained.
"I see…" Aqua nodded.
The navigator smiled before doing a quick headcount.
"Looks like there are twelve of you still remaining. With this, the first round has ended! You will all be summoned back here when the next game begins! Until then, enjoy your well-earned downtime!"
Everyone started to leave, while one player with Grizz's ID Core watched Aqua. He had neck-length blonde hair, thin facial hair, and a pair of shades adorning his eyes.
"Oh man, to think he would join the game…" Former president of Strawberry Productions, Ichigo Saitou, remarked.
(Flashback)
Ichigo opened his item box, revealing the Magnum Buckle.
"Looks like I got lucky this time." He smirked before noticing a Hammer Buckle flew to his boots.
Ichigo picked it up curiously before noticing Aqua in trouble.
"Aqua!? He's in this game!?" He looked conflicted before…
"Screw it!"
The former manager then ran to save the son of his surrogate daughter, Ai Hoshino. He promptly inserted the Hammer Buckle into his Driver.
"SET!"
"Henshin!"
…
"Newbie, you have a lot to learn about this game. You don't just help the competition to that degree. But, tell you what, I'm a fair man." Grizz said before pulling out an item box. "You can keep the item I was originally given."
Ichigo had an anxious look under his helmet, hoping that this would be enough to keep Aqua safe.
…
"I'll remember this." Geats warned Grizz as he went off to help Lopo.
"No. No, you won't." Grizz quietly muttered before walking off.
The man was now in front of the flag before gripping the pole.
"You'd be proud of your little man today, Ai…" Grizz remarked. "I'm sorry, but I have to win this game for both your sakes."
He then pulled the flag out.
"MISSION CLEARED!"
(Present)
"Just when I thought I struck gold with the items…" Ichigo said before he started making his way to the exit, clenching the Armed Hammer Buckle that was supposed to be Aqua's.
This doesn't change much. He WILL win this game and get his ideal world, one where Ai Hoshino retired from being an idol.
(With Aqua)
It was nighttime now and Aqua, back in his school attire, walked to the front door of his house. He braced himself for a scolding from Ruby and Miyako as it was way past curfew. The young man opened the door and saw that the lights were out and no one was around.
Aqua sighed in relief as he closed and locked the door before attempting to go into the fridge for dinner before the lights turned on, revealing his foster mother Miyako Saitou with her arms crossed and an unamused expression on her face.
"You were supposed to be home hours ago. I called Gotanda, but he said you didn't even show up at his place at all."
"I got sidetracked," Aqua explained. That wasn't entirely a lie.
"You could've at least texted me or your sister. She was starting to get worried about you."
"I suppose so. It must've slipped my mind." Aqua simply said. "I'll make sure to give either of you two a warning in the future."
Miyako only sighed as she walked up to the fridge and took out a blue Tupperware box with Aqua's name on it.
"Here. Heat it for two minutes." Miyako instructed.
The teen nodded as he took the box and readied his dinner.
"Can you at least take better care of yourself? If not for yourself, at least for Ruby."
Aqua stared at the older woman.
"I'll…I'll try to do better, I promise," Aqua answered as he thought about his twin sister.
Miyako sighed.
"Alright, I suppose that's as good as I'm going to get out of you. Don't stay up too late. Your sister is already in bed." And with that, Miyako went back to her bed. "Good night."
"Night."
Within a few moments, Aqua took his microwaved leftovers and proceeded to enter his room. While eating at his desk, Aqua took out his Desire Driver and rubbed his free thumb over the ID Core spotting the center. It was hard to believe that he actually entered a game like the Desire Grand Prix, but he was a doctor reincarnated so he was in no place to judge.
As he stared at his Driver while eating, he was still plagued with thoughts he had previously in the game. Why wouldn't the game allow him to revive Ai? Is Ai still alive and if so, where has she been and why hasn't she made contact with her children? Was something keeping her from doing so? Is the DGP responsible?
All that and more plagued his mind. So much so that he failed to notice that time had passed and his remaining food had long since turned cold, but that didn't bother him. What did was the DGP and its potential connection to Ai.
"Oi, you know your food has turned stone cold, right?"
Aqua looked back and saw a blonde teenage girl around his age, but her blonde hair was longer and her eyes were a pinkish-red. Her left eye also had a star that wasn't visible to anyone in particular.
"I thought you were asleep already, Ruby."
"I wasn't. Not until I see you back with my own two eyes." Ruby explained as she walked up to him. "Plus, I kinda wanna know what got you out late. You're usually the early one."
"I got…sidetracked," Aqua explained before his twin saw the Desire Driver on the desk.
"What's this." She grabbed to take a better look.
"Hey, give that back!" Aqua said as he tried grabbing the device back, but Ruby skillfully dodged every last one of his attempts.
"This some kind of hi-tech toy or something? Was this thing the reason why came back so late?" Ruby asked. "Oniichan, I didn't know you were some toku fanboy!" She teased.
"It's not like that!" Aqua argued as he finally grabbed the Desire Driver back.
"Alright, alright, fine. And here I thought you were on some sort of date or something." Ruby relented as she started making her way to the exit. "Still, glad to see you're okay, Oniichan. Just don't scare us like that again."
"I…I'll try." Aqua simply replied as he couldn't bring himself to say yes, given all the things he saw today at the Desire Grand Prix. "It's getting late now. You should get some sleep now."
"You too. Night, Oniichan." Ruby simply said as she finally went back to her room.
Aqua sighed to himself as he finished the rest of his food before changing into his pajamas, turning off the lights, and getting to bed. However, he still held onto the Desire Driver and stared intently at it.
'No matter what, I will win…I have to.' Aqua thought as he heavily gripped the device, determined as ever to win this game and figure out what Ai's connection is to the DGP. The blonde teen yawned before putting the device back on his nightstand; He then closed his eyes and attempted to get some sleep. After all, the DGP can call him at any time for the next round.
(At an unknown location)
In a dark room, a masked man in a white suit was reviewing all the footage captured from today's DGP game on a holographic monitor. He didn't seem too impressed with the players, especially given that a majority have been wiped out either from being killed or were too injured to proceed to the next round.
He then looked at another holographic monitor to review the roster.
"Only twelve remaining this time…" The man noted before he noticed a particular name on the roster. "Is that…?"
The man looked at the original monitor before fast-forwarding the footage and changing cameras to see Aqua transforming into Geats.
"Aquamarine Hoshino…" The masked man read the name. "Hoshino…it couldn't be…No, this has to be a coincidence. It's not an uncommon last name."
The man then pulled up a file and compared it to the footage.
"Hmmm…No, I need more evidence before I can directly act. But for now, I'll just keep a close eye on Aquamarine." The man thought out loud. "But if my suspicions are correct…this game has just gotten more interesting."
AN: And that's about all I have for this idea! I know, it's weird putting another Geats idea right after my original. But after seeing both shows, I think Oshi no Ko is more appropriate for Kamen Rider Geats than Cyberpunk. Don't worry, I still got something for Edgerunners, but that may not pop up after a while.
