HIIII GUYSSS!!! I AM BACK! I noticed some spelling mistakes on my last chapter. I am still very embarrassed about it. I really thought I had everything correctly! T_T. I will do better this time! And sorry if this took so long but I am trying to update as soon as I can. Besides, I think I will do weekly updates. Atleast I will try to do so. Since every chapter of mine will be long, as possible so I naturally need more time to write all this so that I can post. Getting knew ideas are challenging as well. Who knew writing could be so difficult. And I say this as someone who loves to write! Would you guys want me to make the chapters long so that the amount of chapters will be less or should I keep the chapters at this length so that it's updated more quickly with the story then having more chapters? Pls let me know!

This chapter is a bit longer than the first one I think. Enjoy! _

CHAPTER 2

CONNECTIONS

Sakura's POV:

--

As I scrambled to gather the scattered papers, I looked up, ready to apologize again. Standing before me was Sasuke Uchiha, his dark eyes fixed on me with an unreadable expression.

"I apologize," he said calmly, bending down to help me pick up the papers. His voice was smooth, almost disarming.

I blinked, feeling a rush of embarrassment and something else I couldn't quite name. "No, it was my fault. I wasn't paying attention."

We worked in silence for a moment, collecting the last of the papers. As he handed me a few sheets, our fingers brushed briefly, sending a jolt of electricity through me. I quickly withdrew my hand, cheeks flushing even more.

Sasuke glanced at me, a faint hint of a smile playing at the corners of his lips. "Are you alright? Did anything get damaged?"

I shook my head, trying to ignore the warmth spreading through my cheeks. "No, everything seems fine. Thank you for helping me."

He nodded, straightening up and handing me the last of the papers. "Are you one of the competitors of the project day here?" He asked me. I looked up surprised. I didn't expect this question at all.

Taking the papers from his hands I replied: "Thanks and yes, I am," I tried to answer as neutral as possible. The last thing I wanted was to look like a compl fool. He only stared at me. 'Why is he staring at me like that?! ' His gaze was deep and hypnotising. Finally showing some reaction he opened his mouth and said: "I see..". Well, this was akward. But atleast he wasn't an arrogant asshole. He helped me to pick up the papers after all. "So..thanks for helping me again and sorry to bumb into you"

I said to apologise again and to break of the akward silence. He looked at me again.

I tried not to show how much it affected me. "Stop apologising, tch." His eyes showed a bit of irritation. "Sorry..I mean- no! I am not sorry, I mean..I meant that ..Well..I am just emberassing myself right now..am I not?" I couldn't look at his face and looked down.

'Way to go Sakura'! So much to first impression! You are a genius when it comes to stuides but just hopless when it comes to interactions! '

I thought to myself. A small chuckle was heard from the person in front of me and I looked up surprised. Did he just laugh at me!? "You seem to be an interesting girl" he said with a amused smirk on his face.

My heart flattered, seeing him smirk made me feel butterflies in my stomach. He should smile more. If you count smirk as I smile, atleast. It suited him tho. "What's your name?" He asked. Now looking at him with more confidence and a small smile I said: "Sakura. Sakura haruno" He seemed to think about something and when I wanted to ask what was wrong he said: "Sakura..huh? It fits you. I mean your hair. Is it even natural?" He sounded genuine. But I wasn't surprised.

It was a question I got asked many times now. But it was expected. I also have never seen anyone else having pink hair. I took a strand of my long hair into my hands and answered honestly: "Yes. It's natural." If he was surprised he didn't show it much instead he said: "Aa, I am-" I interupted him "Sasuke Uchiha. Yes I know" I know it was rude to interupt someone but I just did it without thinking much about it. He seemed taken a back a bit but then relaxed. "Ah, so you know me" "Yes" I said then a thought coming to my mind I started to ask: "Oh and I wanted to ask you why you-" This time I was interrupted by a voice that I heard talking to sasuke just a while ago.

"SASUKE! WHAT TAKES YOU SO LONG!? COME OVER, TEME!" It was the blond guy named naruto. He really liked to scream, huh? I sweardropped. "Sakura" I turned my face to sasuke. "Yes?" I said. "I gotta go. Bye." Was the only thing he said, already turning around and heading to the blonds direction not even giving me the choice to reply back.

A simple Farewell. I was left watching him walk away with his bestfriend with a mixture of curiosity and uncertainty. I couldn't even ask why he was here if he had no projects to show. This wasn't even his school. Perhaps he was only here because of some of his friends? Maybe?

As I made my way back to my project table, my mind raced with questions. What was Sasuke Uchiha like beyond his composed exterior? Did he have interests outside of academics? And why did his presence affect me so much?

The rest of the afternoon passed in a blur of presentations and conversations with other students. I stole glances at Sasuke and Naruto across the room, trying to glean more about them from their interactions with others. Sasuke seemed reserved yet approachable, while Naruto's energy was infectious, drawing people to him effortlessly.

His posture was impeccable, his dark eyes focused yet somehow distant, as if he was observing everything while revealing nothing. I couldn't help but study him discreetly, noting the way he stood with a quiet confidence, his words measured and deliberate. What was he like beyond this composed exterior? My mind wandered back to the articles and profiles I had read about him earlier.

The Uchiha family—wealthy, influential, steeped in tradition and power. Sasuke seemed destined to inherit this legacy, his every move scrutinized and his future seemingly

preordained. Yet, there was an air of mystery about him, a complexity that intrigued me more than his family's wealth.

As if sensing my gaze, Sasuke turned slightly, his dark eyes meeting mine for a fleeting moment. I quickly averted my gaze, my heart racing inexplicably. A flush of embarrassment crept up my neck as I realized I had been caught staring.

'Smooth, Sakura. Real smooth '

...

The judging continued, each passing minute bringing us closer to the end of the day. I tried to focus on the conversations around me, the discussions about projects and scientific theories.

Ino nudged me, breaking me out of my thoughts. "What's on your mind forehead? " she whispered, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. I answered, trying to sound casual. "I bumbed into sasuke in the hallway, he seems... interesting." Ino grinned knowingly. "Oh..He's definitely something. Did you know his family, well parents to be exact, are well known and influencal with large businesses?" She still thought I didn't knew anything?

I nodded, recalling the details from my research. "Yeah, I read about that." Ino laughed out loud "Hahahah! Finally interested in something that isn't the project?" I glared at her. "Shut up, pig"

As the afternoon wore on, the final judging concluded, and participants began packing up their projects. Ino and I found a quiet corner to gather our belongings, our conversation turning from science to more personal matters.

"Ino," I began tentatively, a smile playing on my lips, "how are things with Sai?"

Ino's face lit up with a radiant smile, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Oh, Sakura, it was amazing! We went on a date last weekend, and it actually went really well."

"I'm so happy for you!" I exclaimed, genuinely thrilled at her news. "What did you guys do?"

"We went to this new cafe in town," Ino explained animatedly, her hands gesturing with enthusiasm. "The coffee was amazing, and we talked for hours. But you know Sai," she added with a chuckle, "he can be so blunt sometimes. He said a few things that had me questioning if he even knew how to date!"

I laughed knowingly, recalling Sai's straightforward nature from our interactions in class. "He means well, Ino. Sometimes his honesty can be a bit surprising, but it's part of what makes him unique."

Ino nodded in agreement, her smile widening. "You're right. Despite that, I really like him. He's different, you know? I feel like he challenges me in a good way."

"That's wonderful to hear," I replied sincerely, feeling a warmth in my chest for my friend's newfound happiness. "Are you going to see him again?"

Ino hesitated for a moment, her expression thoughtful. "Yes, I want to. But Sakura, I need your advice. How do I navigate this? I've never been in a relationship with someone like Sai before."

I thought for a moment, reflecting on my own experiences and what I had observed from others around us. Tenten, Temari, and Hinata were nearby, packing up their projects and chatting amongst themselves. Tenten was discussing the intricacies of her project with Temari, while Hinata seemed lost in thought, occasionally glancing towards Naruto, who was animatedly talking with Sasuke a few tables away. Ino really was serious when she said that both were inseparable.

"Just be yourself, Ino," I finally said, turning back to her with a reassuring smile. "Sai likes you for who you are. And maybe gently remind him about being a bit more tactful sometimes. Communication is key in any relationship."

Ino nodded thoughtfully, her eyes filled with gratitude. "You're right, Sakura. Thanks for always being there for me and giving such good advice."

As we exchanged hugs, promising to meet up again soon before parting ways, I couldn't help but notice Hinata's subtle glances towards Naruto. "By the way, Ino," I added quietly, "have you noticed how Hinata looks at Naruto sometimes? I think she might have a crush on him."

Ino glanced over at Hinata with a knowing smile. "Oh, definitely. It's been pretty obvious lately, hasn't it? Poor girl, she's so shy around him." I smiled back.

We shared a knowing look before continuing our goodbyes. As I walked towards the exit I glanced back one last time at the gymnasium. I noticed Tenten nudging Temari and whispering something, a mischievous twinkle in her eye. Hinata was blushing faintly, her gaze still drawn to Naruto, who seemed oblivious to her attention.

Lost in my thoughts, I stepped out into the fading afternoon sunlight, ready to return home and immerse myself in the memories of today.

But I couldn't get him out of my mind..

Sasuke's calm demeanor, his brief but intense gaze, and the way he effortlessly commanded attention—all of it left a lasting impression on me. I wondered what he thought of our collision, if he had noticed anything beyond the papers scattered on the floor.

Arriving home later that evening, I greeted my parents and retreated to my room. I couldn't resist the urge to search for Sasuke Uchiha once again. Articles and profiles filled my laptop screen, each one painting a picture of a young man destined for greatness. The Uchiha family's legacy loomed large, their influence spanning generations and industries. What would someone like him see in someone like me?Despite the intrigue, a sense of unease settled in the pit of my stomach. But why did I even care? I didn't even know him and yet, I was interested.

Sasuke Uchiha belonged to a world so different from mine—a world of privilege, expectations, and scrutiny. Would he ever see beyond the surface, beyond the ordinary girl with a passion for science, medicine and dreams of making a difference? Closing my laptop, I lay back on my bed, staring at the ceiling.

As I lay back on my bed, staring at the ceiling and mulling over the intricacies of my day, the sudden ring of my phone startled me. I glanced at the screen, recognizing Ino's name instantly. A small smile formed on my lips; Ino always had a knack for brightening my day, no matter what was on her mind.

"Hey, Ino," I answered, my curiosity piqued.

"Hey!" she responded, her voice brimming with excitement. "You won't believe what happened!"

I sat up, intrigued by the energy in her voice. "What's up?"

"It's about Sai," she said, and I could almost hear her grinning through the phone. "We've been going out on dates for a while now, right?"

"Yeah, you've mentioned a few of them," I replied, thinking back to her various stories about their evenings together, the art sessions, and their conversations that seemed to run deep into the night.

"Well, today, after school, he asked me to be his girlfriend! Like, officially!" Ino's excitement was palpable.

"Wait, what? Tell me everything!" I exclaimed, my own excitement matching hers. I shifted to a more comfortable position, eager to absorb every detail.

Ino took a deep breath, her words pouring out in a torrent. "Okay, so we were just finishing up this mural project we've been working on for the art club. He asked me to take a look at it. You know how Sai is with his art—so focused, so intense. Anyway, we were cleaning up, and out of nowhere, he turns to me with this serious look on his face. For a second, I thought something was wrong."

I could vividly imagine the scene she was describing. The art room must have been a flurry of activity, with brushes and paint tubes scattered about. Sai, usually so immersed

in his work, was probably even more absorbed today, his attention fixed on every detail of the mural. Ino, ever the diligent worker, must have been moving around the space, putting things away, her mind already drifting to their next plan.

Then came the shift in Sai's demeanor. His focus, usually so steady and deliberate, had taken on an entirely different intensity. His gaze, once casually scanning the room, was now fixed on Ino with an unusual seriousness. I could almost feel the tension in the air as he approached her. Ino's thoughts must have raced through a thousand scenarios, her mind grappling with the unexpected change.

"He was like, 'Ino, there's something I've been wanting to ask you.' And my heart just started pounding. I mean, we've been hanging out a lot, and things have been great, but I didn't expect this!"

I could feel Ino's nervous excitement through her words. The heart-pounding anticipation, the whirlwind of thoughts—she was clearly reliving the moment with as much intensity as it had happened. My curiosity only grew stronger, eager to hear how this moment unfolded.

"He took a deep breath and said, 'Would you be my girlfriend? I really like you, and I want us to be more than just friends who go on dates.' And for a second, I was so stunned I couldn't speak. I just stared at him, trying to process it. He looked so nervous, which is so unlike him. It was kind of adorable."

I could almost picture Sai's expression, his nervousness starkly contrasting his usual calm demeanor. The sincerity in his voice, the way he finally broke his usual reserve, must have made the moment incredibly poignant. Ino's stunned silence, her heart racing as she tried to absorb the gravity of his words, painted a vivid picture of the emotional landscape of that moment.

"What did you do next?" I asked, my voice tinged with excitement.

"I think I blinked a few times, and then I just blurted out, 'Yes!' It was like the words had been waiting to come out forever. And then he smiled—like, really smiled, not just his usual polite smile. It was like the sun breaking through clouds."

"That's so amazing, Ino. I'm so happy for you!" I said, genuinely thrilled. "But why didn't you tell me sooner? We're best friends!"

Ino's voice shifted to a slightly defensive tone. "I was going to, forehead! I just got home and took a bath, so I finally had the chance to call you. I wanted to tell you without being interupted and everything happened so fast today!"

I could almost see her flustered expression, her cheeks flushed with the combination of excitement and embarrassment. "Oh, come on, Ino! You know how you always say we're like sisters. I could have used a little heads-up!"

Ino huffed in mock indignation. "Well, maybe I wanted it to be a surprise! Not everyone needs to know every detail of their best friend's life in real-time."

"Really?" I teased, still laughing. "You're telling me you couldn't share the news sooner because you wanted to build suspense?"

Ino's laughter joined mine, the tension of her defensive stance melting away. "Okay, okay. Maybe I did want to surprise you a little. But I'm still excited and wanted to share it with you as soon as I could."

I settled into a more relaxed position, my smile widening. "I'm just kidding, pig! I am genuinely happy for you. It's such a big step, and I'm thrilled that things are going so well for you and Sai."

"Thanks, Sakura," Ino said warmly. "I'm just so excited. And a little nervous. What if I say something stupid? Or spill my drink? You know how clumsy I can get when I'm anxious."

"You'll be fine, Ino. Just be yourself. Sai obviously likes you for who you are. Besides, a little clumsiness can be endearing," I reassured her, imagining the scene of Ino and Sai on their date. I had no doubt that Ino's genuine charm and Sai's understanding nature would make the evening memorable.

"Yeah, you're right. I just want everything to go well," Ino sighed. "But enough about me. How are you doing? Anything interesting going on with you?"

I hesitated for a moment, thinking about how to answer. It was nice to focus on her happiness, and I appreciated her asking about me. "Oh, you know, just the usual. Things have been busy, but I'm getting by. It's nice to have these little moments to unwind and chat."

Ino's tone softened, full of sincerity. "You're amazing, you know that? Always so dedicated and driven. I really admire that about you."

"Thanks, Ino," I said, feeling a warmth spread through me. "And hey, who knows? Maybe we'll both have some exciting news soon and can celebrate together."

"Absolutely! We'll conquer the world together," Ino declared, her usual confidence shining through. "But first, I need to get through this date without making a fool of myself."

"You've got this, Ino. Just remember to have fun and be yourself. Sai already likes you for who you are," I reiterated, wanting to ease her nerves.

"Thanks. I really needed to hear that," Ino said softly. "Alright, I need to start planning. So many things to consider! But I'll keep you updated on everything, okay?"

"Of course. I can't wait to hear all about it," I said, already looking forward to our next conversation.

As we said our goodbyes and I hung up, I felt a sense of contentment and anticipation. Ino's excitement was infectious, and her words had lifted my spirits. I lay back on my bed, a smile on my face, and allowed myself to dream about the possibilities that lay ahead—for both of us.

As I lay back on my bed, savoring the warmth of my conversation with Ino, my mom's voice drifted up the stairs, calling out from downstairs. "Sakura, dinner's ready! Come down and join us."

I sighed contentedly, knowing that a good meal and family time were just what I needed after the day's excitement. I reluctantly pushed myself up from the bed, brushing off the lingering thoughts of Ino and Sai's relationship. I headed downstairs, where the comforting aroma of home-cooked food greeted me.

Entering the dining room, I saw my parents setting the table. Mom was arranging the dishes, her blond hair tied back in a loose ponytail that had a few stray wisps falling around her face. Her green eyes sparkled as she looked up and smiled at me. Dad, with his strawberry-blond hair and blue eyes, was carefully placing the last of the dinner plates on the table. They made a striking pair, their contrasting features blending perfectly in our family dynamic.

"Hey, Sakura," Dad greeted, his smile warm and inviting. "How was your day?"

"It was good," I replied, taking my seat at the table. "Ino just told me some exciting news. Sai asked her to be his girlfriend officially."

Mom's eyes lit up with interest. "That's wonderful! I'm so happy for her. I remember when we first heard about Sai and Ino spending time together. They seem like such a lovely pair."

Dad chuckled, joining us at the table. "It's nice to see our kids and their friends finding happiness. How's school been for you, Sakura?"

I nodded towards Dad. "It's good. How's IT life treating you, Dad?"

Dad's face lit up with enthusiasm. "Oh, you know, the usual mix of troubleshooting and system upgrades. It's been pretty busy lately, but I enjoy the challenge. It's satisfying to solve those complex problems."

Mom chimed in, her voice full of pride. "And Sakura's dad is always so dedicated. Sometimes, I think he's more excited about debugging than anything else!"

Dad laughed, his blue eyes twinkling. "It's true, I do get a bit carried away, but it's all part of the job."

I turned to Mom. "And how about you, Mom? How's the hospital?"

Mom's green eyes softened with the memory of her day. "Busy as ever. Being a nurse at Konoha Hospital is demanding, but it's rewarding. We had a particularly long shift today, but it's always worth it when you know you're making a difference."

Dad nodded in agreement. "Your mom is incredible at what she does. I don't know how she manages to stay so calm and caring, even with everything she handles."

As we continued to talk about their work, I found myself reflecting on how their careers shaped their personalities. Dad, as an IT specialist, was meticulous and analytical, always ready to tackle the next problem. His enthusiasm for technology and problem- solving was something I admired. Mom, working in the hospital, was the epitome of compassion and resilience, dealing with high-pressure situations with grace and empathy.

The conversation naturally shifted to lighter topics—weekend plans, the latest neighborhood gossip, and even a little friendly banter between my parents. As we chatted, I found myself thinking about how much I resembled each of them.

Mom's blond hair had always been a vibrant and striking feature, and while my hair was a bright pink—a stark contrast to hers—it had become one of my most distinctive traits. My emerald-green eyes, though similar in hue to her grass-green ones, had a deeper, richer shade. I often thought about how people would comment on how I looked more like Mom in general. They would say I had her overall look, but with some distinctive features that clearly belonged to Dad.

My eye shape and smile were often remarked upon as being more similar to Dad's. His blue eyes and my emerald ones had different shades, but the shape and expression were something we shared. My smile, too, carried hints of his, though it had developed its unique character over the years.

As I glanced at the family photos on the walls—capturing moments of us all together—I couldn't help but see how the combination of their traits had shaped who I was. It was a blend of their features that made me uniquely myself, yet unmistakably connected to both of them.

After dinner, as I helped clear the table, I felt a deep sense of appreciation for my family. The comfort of home, the love they provided, and the support they offered made everything seem more manageable. Reflecting on their influence on me, I realized that their traits, both physical and emotional, were woven into the fabric of who I was.

Once the kitchen was tidied up and my parents were settled with their post-dinner activities, sitting in the living room and watching Tv, I headed back upstairs to my room.

As I entered my room, I took a moment to appreciate the quiet space. It was a cozy retreat, filled with familiar comforts. The soft glow of the desk lamp cast a warm light over my room, and I could hear the distant hum of the city as I prepared for the next day.

I walked over to my closet and began sorting through my school uniforms. With tomorrow's schedule in mind, I pulled out my neatly pressed uniform—a navy skirt, a crisp white blouse, and the matching blazer. I made sure everything was in order, smoothing out any wrinkles and checking that all the buttons were intact. The uniform was a small part of my daily routine, but it always helped me feel prepared and organized for the day ahead.

As I laid the uniform out on my couch, my thoughts drifted back to the conversation with Ino. Her excitement about Sai asking her to be his girlfriend was contagious. I couldn't help but smile as I thought about how happy she must be. Ino and Sai had always seemed like a great match, and I was thrilled for them.

I then turned my attention to my homework, setting aside some time to review my assignments. I was determined to stay on top of my studies, especially with the upcoming exams. As I worked through my notes and textbooks, my mind occasionally wandered back to the day's events. The excitement and joy I felt for my friends and the satisfaction of my family's company made the work seem less of a chore and more of a stepping stone to achieving my goals.

Once I finished my school preparations, I started my nightly routine. I took a warm shower, letting the water relax my muscles and clear my mind. The soothing sensation was a welcome relief, especially after a day filled with emotional highs. Wrapped in a fluffy towel, I dried off and got into my pajamas—soft, comfortable clothes that signaled the transition from the day's activities to a peaceful night's rest.

I took a moment to stand in front of the mirror, brushing my pink hair until it was smooth and tangle-free. As I looked at my reflection, I noticed the way my features blended together: the bright pink of my hair, my emerald-green eyes, and my smile. It was a comforting sight.

I finally settled into bed, pulling the covers up to my chin. The room was quiet, the only sound being the soft rustling of the sheets and the occasional creak of the house settling. I felt a deep sense of contentment, a result of a day filled with meaningful connections and supportive family moments. As I turned off the bedside lamp, the room was enveloped in darkness, save for the faint glow of the streetlights filtering through the curtains.

As I closed my eyes, I let myself drift into thoughts of the future. I imagined the upcoming days with Ino and Sai, the joys and challenges that lay ahead. The warmth of my family's love and the excitement of my friends provided a reassuring backdrop to my dreams.

With a final sigh of contentment, I allowed myself to slip into sleep.
