Day #3: New plan?

Naruto Uzumaki would be lying if he claimed to have slept deeply and peacefully. His eyes welled with tears every time he remembered the softness of his bed sheets. The poor boy had failed to sleep because his mind was consumed with thoughts of his unrequited love crying.

He could handle whatever happened to the others because of his actions, but how could he apologize to Sakura? Did he deserve to look at her? Was he even allowed to think about her?

The boy frowned. Someone was knocking on the door, the most detestable noise he had ever witnessed, but it certainly didn't compare to the looks Sasuke Uchiha gave him just for existing...

"Hey, idiot."

It had to be a joke. No one had the right to interrupt him when he wanted time away from society, especially not Sasuke Uchiha.

The knocking continued, more urgently this time, causing Naruto to grab a pillow and bite into it just to resist his urge to scream. If he made noise, the damn Uchiha would likely persist until Naruto decided to tear his own head off.

"I know you're in there."

He took a deep breath. He wasn't patient, nor could he stay calm like any other person, as his emotions surfaced easily and he could be explosive at times. However, all he could managed was to squash his pillow and throw it against the door.

This time, a groan came from the other side.

"Throwing things at me won't help."

Naruto covered himself with the sheets and laid face down, not caring that his face was uncomfortable without his precious pillow.

"Hey."

The word spoken by Uchiha hung in the air once again. He had spent several minutes outside the apartment and he was now receiving not-so-discreet glances from neighbors who came out to investigate. Some had the audacity to wait and even whisper among themselves.

He hated when people talked behind his back. Since the tragedy of his clan, murmurs about every aspect of his life seemed to surround him, as if they knew him.

Fine. If they wanted something to gossip about in their lives, he'd give it to them. Regardless of the fact that he was about to utter one of the biggest lies in the shinobi world.

"I said I love her."

Naruto's scream had been so loud that the snoopers decided to return to their homes. Finally.

"What did you do, 'ttebayo!?"

The door opened causing him to hit his nose. That was something he wasn't expecting.

"Watch out!" He touched his nose trying to soothe the pain. He had to resist his desire to fight him, but he needed to keep himself calm or else he would ruin his chances of understanding whatever was happening. He just wanted to be left out of their love problems.

"No, you watch out!" The blond pointed at his opponent's face despite being close enough to feel his breath. "Who did you say it to!?"

Sometimes he was surprised at how naive he could be.

"Idiot, how can you believe that?"

Naruto's face showed the most dramatic and exaggerated despair Sasuke had ever witnessed.

"I really am an idiot," he said, dragging out his words, almost gritting his teeth. "It's obvious that you mean Sakura-chan. You had already rejected Ino."

His eyes began to tear up as his lips trembled.

Sasuke was used to Naruto being expressive, but he felt very uncomfortable knowing that he was crying because he couldn't say he loved another human when he was just beginning his adolescence.

"I rejected them!"

"How dare you, 'ttebayo!?"

The blond blinked rapidly, looking very confused and disoriented. Apparently, he had already catched his attention.

"I rejected them," he repeated seriously.

At the response, Naruto put his hand to his forehead and smiled. The pressure he felt in his chest disappeared. He wanted to laugh hysterically and return to his room so he could cry happily. He thought one of his worst nightmares had come true, but it had simply been a lie.

He hated the idea that Sasuke could be beside Sakura, even though it was a hypocritical thought.

Since accepting the plan, his goal had been to keep them apart so that Ino and he would be with their respective love ones. He wanted to be with his beloved and did his best to destroy the illusion she had towards her platonic love. He wasn't just an idiot, he was cruel and despicable.

"Shit," he muttered, massaging his temples. He was so tired of going around in circles. If only he had never accepted Ino's tempting words.

"What?"

"Nothing," he wasn't going to argue about his love dilemmas with the guy who showed the least amount of concern.

"Whatever," said Sasuke to prevent another drama. "I want you to help me."

Naruto complained loudly while clenching his teeth. He had an idea of what he was going to say. He didn't need to be a genius to understand that he was talking about the kunoichis.

"No!"

The Uchiha crossed his arms. He expected a yes and that's what he would get.

"We need to talk to them to fix this drama."

The blond raised his eyebrows, curious and surprised. He was going straight to the point, it was simple and there were no hidden motives. That's very suspicious.

"What's the catch, 'ttebayo?"

Sasuke was thinking that tying him, covering his mouth and carrying him around Konoha until he found the girls would be a better idea, but he would have to hear his complains and start a fight that would lead to nothing. He needed to remember that he was there to communicate and that's what he would do.

"Are you coming with me or will you continue depriving yourself of sleep?"

Fatigue screamed for him to go to bed and ignore his "guest". What he most wanted was to be in bed without seeing the light of the sun for at least a month. However, his thoughts prevented him from closing his eyes. They kept bothering him to do the right thing and apparently Sasuke wouldn't let him rest either.

I hope everything is better after this.
