Alyra

We had arrived at the rangers outpost. Sam and Dean were looking at a picture. I just stood by the door.

"Can I help you three?" I turned.

Ranger Wilkinson had taken notice of us.

"We're here for a paper," I scoffed, "yeah right. That Hailey girl sent you, didn't she?"

I stepped forward, "that's right. She's a good friend of mine. These are my brothers. I told her we would come and get a copy of her brother's permit. She's just really worried. If it were my brothers I'd overreact and be worried too."

The ranger looked understanding.

"Alright give me a moment." I smiled at him.

He turned away. I felt a hand on my shoulder. It was Dean. He looked irritated with me.

"Go outside right now." I glared at him.

I slapped his hand away and walked past him, "Alyra?"

I looked at Sam.

"Don't. He's an ass. Don't even bother defending him Sam." I walked out the door.

I stormed off to my bike. I started it and drove off. I needed a moment to myself. I needed to speak to Castiel.

Sam

"Dean," he looked at me, "she is trying. You could at least treat her the same way. You can't keep doing this hot and cold with her. She has feelings, Dean. One day she'll be gone and you won't realize what you're missing."

"Here's the paperwork," the ranger looked confused, "where'd your sister run off too?"

I glared at Dean.

"Hailey called her. She left ahead of us. Thank you for the paper." Dean grabbed it and headed for the door.

"Have a good day, Ranger Wilkinson." I followed Dean out the door.

Alyra

I found a flower field and sat. I closed my eyes and meditated.

•••

"What are you doing here, Alyra?" I opened my eyes.

Castiel was floating in front of me as the same yellow glowy orb. I smiled at him.

"I needed a moment. It's peaceful here. It's the only place I could think of." I glanced down at my hands.

"What's wrong, Alyra?" I bit my lip.

I shook my head.

"Nothing, Castiel. I'm alright." I smiled.

"Don't lie to me, Alyra. Something is bothering you. What is it?" I sighed.

"It's Sam's brother, Dean. He, um, he isn't very happy with me. I told him what I could do. I had to. He hates me I think." Castiel didn't say anything.

I didn't expect to be comforted, I just needed to get away.

"Is it because of the abilities I gave you?" I shook my head.

"No." He didn't need to know the truth.

"Are you sure?" I smiled at Cas.

"I'm sure." I layed back in the field I was in.

It was so beautiful here.

"Alyra. I don't appreciate being lied to." I closed my eyes.

"There isn't anything you can do about it, Castiel. I just have to gain his trust again. I wouldn't change anything." I sat up.

I smiled at him.

"Very well. Will you be alright?" He had changed so much since when we first met even if it hadn't been very long since we met.

I stood up and walked over to him. He was still just a ball of light to me. I leaned down and kissed Cas.

"Thank you. I will be alright now. See you later, Castiel." I pulled away.

Dean

"Alyra!" Alyra's eyes opened.

She smiled at us.

"What did you find out, Sam?" She avoided my gaze.

"There is definitely something up there at Blackwater Ridge. The plan is to head out in the morning with Hailey and her brother. This thing is fast so we need to be careful when we go up there." She smiled.

"Thanks Sam. Well, let's get some rooms and get rested." Alyra stood up.

She stayed next to Sam. They walked up to me.

"Come on Dean. We have a long night ahead of us." I didn't move as they continued.

"No," they both turned to me, "I want to talk to Alyra. Alone Sam."

Sam looked unsure. Alyra placed a hand on Sam's shoulder.

"It's fine, Sam," she smiled at him, "better to hear what he has to say now rather than let the tension build. Go get us a room."

Sam looked hesitant to leave us alone.

"You heard her, Sammy. Get going." Sam looked mad.

"Dean," I looked at Alyra, "don't patronize him. Go on Sam, we'll be okay. I promise."

She hugged Sam. Sam took a deep breath and relaxed.

"Alright, Alyra. Can you handle getting back with him on your bike?" Alyra laughed.

"I took him down with a rolling pin. I think I can handle him." Sam pulled away.

"See you in a bit." Alyra smiled.

Sam glared at me and held his hand out. I looked down at him.

"Oh, hell no," Alyra stepped forward, "hand them over Dean, now."

I sighed and fished the keys out of my jacket.

"You put a scratch on her and I'll," Alyra grabbed the keys from my hand, "I'll fix it up myself Dean. See you later Sam."

She handed the keys to Sam. Sam walked away. She didn't say anything or do anything until Sam drove away.

"I get you hate me, but I'm not just staying with you two for the hell of it. I care about you both and your father asked me to stay nearby with you guys." She looked up at me.

"What? Why the hell would he ask that of you? He hates your guts." She glared at me.

"Why the hell would I know Dean? I was ready to tell him no, but you didn't hear him Dean," she turned away, "he was worried. Something big was coming. He was right, Dean. It's no coincidence that at the same time he goes missing, these weird things start happening! Sam see's things, I have these weird powers. Something killed Jess. It's not a coincidence Dean. Something is after your family, and with the amount of creatures your family has killed I'm not surprised. Besides, he knows I'll put you boys first before anything or anyone else. That's why he asked me to stay by your side! It doesn't matter what I am. What matters is I'm staying because I want to! I," she quit speaking.

She looked up at me. She sighed and turned away.

"What Alyra? Tell me something that will make me believe that you're not going to stab me in my sleep. That you will put Sam and I first." She spun around angry.

"I love you," what, "you stupid man. I love you and I have for years! I see Sammy as family, but you, god you infuriate me. I want to make you shut up every time you open that stupid mouth of yours! There are days where I just want to kiss you to make you shut up! I love you and Sam, but not in the same way. I know a threat lies ahead and I am here! For the both of you!"
