Onto Beacon Academy.

The next day, Hedge boards the airship to Beacon. He's leaning up against the window and looking around at the other soon-to-be first year Huntsmen and Huntresses. "Hmm, to think that all these kids are going to be learning how to really kill Grimm. But let's see if they'll truly be ready," he says to himself as he closes his eyes. He starts to remember receiving a letter at his hotel room earlier that morning from Ozpin about inviting him to watch the initiation test at the Emerald Forest. "How in the world did Ozpin know which hotel I was going to be in?" He then hears a familiar voice nearby and when he opens his eyes, he sees Ruby talking with another girl.

He walks over to them and says, "Ms. Rose?" Ruby turns around, and replies, "Yes?"

"I must say, that fight you had the other night that you were quite impressive with your scythe," Hedge crosses his arms.

Ruby becomes very flustered, "Uh, thanks. I tried my best, but how do you know my name?" The other girl butts in and gets in front of Ruby.

"Hey buddy, I don't know who you are, but how do you know so much about my sister here?"

"My apologies, the name's Hedge Badnic, team leader of Team HAZL. I'm actually a student from Shade studying abroad this year, and at the end of the year, I plan to get my Huntsman license." This information stuns the two. Hedge Badnic? THE Hedge Badnic? Runner up from last year's Vytal Festival? They're broken out of their thoughts when he speaks again. "And who might you be? I understand you said you were Ruby's sister."

The girl responds, "Yang Xiao Long, Ruby's older sister." She puts her arm around Ruby's head. Hedge seems confused, "Forgive me. You two have different last names, not to mention you two don't look alike, and yet you two are sisters." The two girls, having gone through this song and dance multiple times with other people, look at each and smile, but as they are about to explain the reasoning, they are interrupted by the announcement of the news regarding the robbery led by Roman Torchwick, whom Ruby recognizes, followed by the report of the White Fang interrupting a Faunus rally, to which both girls look at Hedge and notice his hedgehog quills in his black hair. Ruby also looks a bit closer and notices some strands of red in his hair too, but not as much as hers. Hedge looks away for a bit. Professor Goodwitch appears on a hologram shortly after and introduces herself to the new students and then we see them flying over Signal Academy with Beacon being seen in the distance.

"So that's Beacon," Hedge says.

"Look any different from Shade?" Yang asks, "Also I couldn't help but notice those quills of yours. You wouldn't happen to be a Faunus, would you?"

Hedge chuckles, "Was wondering when either of you would ask that question. Yes, I am, and if your follow up question was going to be if I'm apart of the White Fang, or formally from them, the answer is no. To be honest, I'm not even sure if they are out in Vacuo, but I have definitely heard of them." That last part was a bit of a lie. It's true he has heard of them, but he doesn't know too much about them.

Ruby also notices his two swords on his back. "Ooh, those swords. They look so cool!"

"Oh, you mean these?" Hedge grabs Chaos and Destruction from their sheaths. "Meet Chaos (sword in his right hand), and Destruction (sword in his left hand)." They get interrupted by a boy getting sick and throwing up, whom Ruby deems as Vomit Boy. She later notices some vomit on Yang's shoe, to which both gross out.

When they arrive at Beacon's air pad, they start to walk toward the academy. Hedge turns to the sisters and smiles at them. "I hope you guys do well during the initiation. After you are put on a team and if you want to spar, come find me. I'd be happy to oblige." He turns and activates his hover shoes and skates away, leaving Ruby excited to see Hedge again, whom needed to go talk to Ozpin anyway so he could get a dorm room to sleep in.

Hedge has finally arrived to Beacon and the good ol' Headmaster has invited him to spectate on the initiation test. I added in the idea of how Ozpin got Hedge to do so, because in the original write up, all I did was state Ozpin asked him to do so, but didn't explain how.

We also meet Yang, Ruby's older sister, which of course would confuse Hedge since they have different last names and don't really look alike. Being away from civilization will do that to someone, since Hedge didn't really learn the possibility of that while young.

Also, an idea just came to mind: I'm thinking of making Hedge an assistant to Glynda when it comes to combat class. This will give him an opportunity to see everyone's fighting styles, as well as allow other students to fight him and get a better idea as to what they are up against. Let me know if you guys like that idea.
