The rest of Team HAZL will make their appearance in this chapter. As for attires goes, I'm going to explain them here, since I'm not very good at going on full detail mode for each of them, that's not my forte. Anne's attire is essentially Amy Rose's modern look, with the red dress (known of course as a combat skirt here) with the white outlines at the neck and bottom, though the red portion is actually pink. She also wears pink safety shorts underneath (can't be having any up skirt moments like SA1, now can we?), along with black leggings. Her bracelets don't lessen the exertion of her semblance like Hedge's. For Zion, for the exact look of his attire, it's based off Lucian's High Noon skin from League of Legends, minus the whole demonic half look that he has going on. For Leonidas, he wears a jacket over his main t-shirt to cover up his dragon wings and scales on his arms, whereas the shirt is custom-made so he can fit his wings through and not have to go completely shirtless just to have them extend out. He wears red combat boots and gold shorts up to his knees, that way his scales on his ankles are still accessible to utilize.
Something else to add: RoxasJoStar and CRabbit (I know there are numbers added on your name, but this makes it easier), thank you for the follow/favorites of the story.
Hedge wakes up in his dorm room, feeling sore all over. "Hehe, guess that training session with Pyrrha and Jaune last night really took a lot out of me," as he grabs his right shoulder. "Note to self: try to exert the same amount of strength in both arms rather than just one." His scroll buzzes on his desk, it's Anne calling. He turns on the camera function.
Anne: "Hey Hedge. Woah, you look a little beat up."
Hedge: "Yeah that happens when you do a training session for 6 hours straight and late into the night. Oh, I see Zion and Leo behind you. I take it you guys are on the boat heading to Vale?"
Zion butts in, "Yeah man. We should be in Vale in a few hours. Save some action for us. Anne's been telling us you dealt with a robber or something a few months back." Anne places her open hand on her face.
Anne: "I said that someone else was dealing with that robber, but apparently they got away."
Hedge chuckles, and looks over at Leonidas. "Hey Leo, how was Vacuo this whole time. Same ol'?"
Leo closed his eyes and crossed his arms. "Yeah, you didn't miss much over there. Still hot as hell, which didn't help with my scales and my wings being under this jacket."
Zion elbows him on the side, "Oh come on Leo. I would've thought you'd have been used to the heat of Vacuo by now. Leo opens his eyes and scowls at him.
Leonidas: "You try living like this for your entire life. I moved to Vacuo from Mistral because of the way they treat Faunus better than the rest of Remnant."
Anne breaks them up. "Anyway, as mentioned, we should be there probably around the afternoon, early evening. Hope to see you at the pier Hedge. We have to catch up after a whole semester apart. Talk to you later." Anne ended the call. Hedge smiled and started to get ready for the day. He grabbed some fresh clothes and head over to the showers. When he was finished and wrapped his towel around, he saw Jaune enter the room.
Hedge: "Ah, good morning, Mr. Arc. Hope Pyrrha and I didn't rough you up too much last night." Jaune noticed that Hedge was there and was a bit startled.
Jaune: "Ah, Hedge. Hi, didn't expect to see you in here this early." It was 10:00 AM. Hedge normally doesn't wake up on a Friday until around noon as he doesn't have any classes on that day. Not even Goodwitch's combat class. He was a little disappointed at that, but that didn't mean he'd completely slack off. He always mentioned to the students that if they ever wanted training sessions, he was open to lead some to those that wanted them.
Hedge: "Well, I decided to change my sleep schedule for today. Getting up at noon means half the day is already gone, and when you're a huntsman, you don't really have the luxury to sleep in out in the field. That can result in death." He grabs his clothes and turns to smile at Jaune. "Catch you later." Hedge returns to his room and puts on fresh clothes. He then heads off to the laundry room to drop off his dirty clothes. On his way back, he's stopped by Ruby.
Ruby: "Hedge, there you are. Good morning." Hedge was surprised to see Ruby.
Hedge: "Oh, hey Ruby. What's up?" Ruby had a big smile on her face.
Ruby: "Weiss told us that the students from Vacuo should be arriving by boat later today at the docks, which means you can introduce us to the rest of your team." Hedge chuckled at that statement.
Hedge: "I take it you worked out things with Weiss since the last time we talked, huh?" Ruby nodded at him, still with a smile on her face. "Well I'd be happy to introduce them, however, they should be arriving a little later in the afternoon, probably close to sunset if I were to guess." Ruby's smile left her face briefly.
Ruby: "Oh so we might not see them until tomorrow then since we'll be heading out to the docks pretty soon." Her smile returned. "Wanna join us?" Hedge smiled at her.
Hedge: "Sure, aside from meeting my team when they get here, I don't have any other plans for the day, not even a training session. When you guys are ready to head out, just knock on my door." Ruby jumped up in joy.
Ruby: "Yay! We'll be at your door in two hours." Hedge nodded, and Ruby went off back to her room. Hedge made a quick trip to the cafeteria to get a quick bite and then returned to his room, picking up his clothes from the laundry room too.
2 hours later
Hedge heard a knock at his door a few minutes before noon. When he opened the door, he saw Ruby in front, Yang and Blake behind her, and Weiss behind all of them.
Hedge: "Afternoon girls. I take it you are ready to head off to the docks?"
Weiss, although seemed timid at the idea that Hedge was joining them, spoke up. "That we are. Let's go." Hedge took notice to her demeanor towards him, but he kept it to himself.
They arrived into town and saw everyone was preparing for the Vytal Festival that would be happening at the end of the school year. Yang was the one to speak to Hedge, who was walking behind her.
Yang: "So, Hedge. Your team always made it into the 1-on-1's for the past three years, but you never could get that victory, could you?" Hedge tilted his head to see her face.
Hedge: "What are you getting at, Yang?"
Yang laughed. "I mean, do you think you have what it takes to get that final victory?"
Hedge: "Of course I do. This year my team will take the victory. This past school year break we decided to spar almost every day just so we could better our skills, both as a team, and individually. Why? Do you guys think you'll be able to get past us if we end up fighting each other?"
Weiss spoke up next. "I think we will beat you. I know Ruby here had brought up the idea to spar with you before, and although I would have loved to fight you with us 4 against you, she decided it would be better to fight you along with your team. She's our leader after all." Ruby beamed with energy after hearing Weiss say that about her. Hedge's reaction to this was that of curiousness.
Hedge: "Ah, so you decided to take me up on my offer. Very well. I'll inform my team later today that you guys want to spar against us. I'm sure they'll be happy to oblige. I can even run it through Goodwitch so we could fight during class. Just know, we won't go easy on you guys."
Yang turned around. "Wouldn't want it any other way." They stopped at the edge of the dock to see a boat that had just arrived. Ruby noticed a dust shop with caution tape on its front door. She heads off to the shop with everyone following her. She asks one of the police men.
Ruby: "What happened here?"
Officer 1: "Robbery. Second one to be hit this week." His partner speaks up.
Officer 2: "They left all the money again."
Officer 1: "Who do you think? The White Fang?"
Weiss spoke up next. "Hmph. The White Fang. Bunch of no-good degenerates." This seemed to have irritated Blake.
Blake: "What's your problem?"
Weiss: "My problem? I simply don't care for the criminally insane."
Blake: "They're hardly a bunch of psychopaths. They're misguided Faunus."
Weiss: "They want to wipe humanity off the face of the planet, Blake."
Blake: "This doesn't explain why they wanted to rob a dust shop in the middle of downtown Vale."
Hedge decided to speak up this time. "I may not know so much about the White Fang, but I'd have to agree with Blake on that. I haven't heard much about that Torchwick fellow that Ruby ran into a few months back. Could be him." Ruby agreed with him on that notion.
Weiss however, "This doesn't change the fact that the Faunus in the White Fang are a bunch of scum. They only know how to lie, cheat, and steal." Blake started to get furious at this but was interrupted when the ship hands of the boat were yelling at someone for stowing on their ship. Everyone ran over to the edge of the dock to see a Faunus with a monkey tail run from the ship and run past the rest of them, while he also blinked at Blake.
Weiss' mood changed. "That guy had to be from one of the competing teams for the Vytal Festival. Quick, we have to observe him." She started to chase after the Faunus with everyone else behind her. When she turned the corner, she bumped into someone. She looked up to see the Faunus get away as he was being chased by the two policemen. "No, he got away." Yang made her be more aware of the situation by pointing at the person she fell on top of.
The girl waved at them. "Sal-u-tations."
Ruby was a bit confused.
"Uhm, hello."
Yang then spoke to the girl.
"Are you…ok?"
"I'm wonderful. Thank you for asking."
Hedge then spoke next.
"Do you…want to get up?"
"Yes." She then places her hands on the floor behind her head and then jumps forward to stand up straight. Everyone takes a step back from her. "My name is Penny. It's a pleasure to meet you."
"Hey Penny. I'm Ruby."
"I'm Weiss."
"Hedge."
"Blake."
"Are you sure you didn't hit your head?" Blake slaps her on the side. "Oh, I'm Yang."
Penny: "It's a pleasure to meet all of you."
Weiss: "You already said that."
Penny looked a little confused but then a smile returned on her face. "So I did."
Weiss: "Sorry for running into you."
Ruby: "Take care friend." They all started to turn around and walk away.
Yang: "She was…"
Hedge: Weird?"
Yang: "Yeah."
Weiss: "Now where did that Faunus riffraff run off to?" But then Penny appeared in front of all of them.
Penny: "What did you call me?" She walked up to Ruby.
Ruby seemed flustered. "Uh…a friend?" Penny was ecstatic at Ruby's response. Hedge broke the silence between the rest of them.
"Well, this is…awkward." "How did she even get in front of us so quickly? Unless she has a teleportation semblance?"
Yang: "You're telling me." Hedge's scroll buzzes. It's Anne messaging him, "We should be arriving sooner than intended. Better be at the docks." He looks up and decides to leave the girls to deal with Penny and he jets off back to the docks. He'd rather not deal with an angered Anne if he had a choice.
When he returned to the docks, he could see the ship in the distance. He decided to find one of the nearby light posts and lean up against it with his arms folded. He awaits his team to walk off the boat. Once he sees Anne's pink hair and quills, he smiles. Before Anne could finish walking off the board plank, she sees Hedge leaning against the light post and runs right over to him to hug him. Zion and Leonidas follow up behind her. Zion speaks up first, extending his fist out to Hedge.
Zion: "Sup, leader. Long time no see."
Hedge reciprocates the fist bump. "Hey guys, how was the boat ride? I thought you guys were going to get here later?"
Anne lets him go to speak. "We were, but apparently, we got word that it was going to be smooth sailing, so we were able to get into port quicker. Don't act like you aren't happy to see your team here."
Hedge just chuckles back at her. "Well how about we head over to Beacon so you guys can unpack and at the very least relax." The rest of Team HAZL nod their head at their leader and follow him back to Beacon, tugging their luggage behind them. Along the way though, Hedge notices Team RWBY is heading back to Beacon as well, but with Weiss and Blake arguing at each other. Hedge thinks to himself, "That doesn't seem to be going well. I get the feeling Weiss said something about the Faunus that really threw Blake over the edge."
