Reality Viewing: Naruto the Charming Assassin Charmer

-Chapter 22-

"...and so that is what an inner self is," Mikan said, having just finished a very long drawn out explanation filled with various simple comparisons and examples. "Do you get it now Lala?"

"I think so… it's Naru but not Naru at the same time since it's all bad stuff he doesn't like?" Lala said unsurely, getting the brunette nod with a sigh as she patted her on the head.

"Close enough."

"Well that was a fascinating *cough* boring as hell *cough* thing to learn," Momo said while mock coughing into her hand. "But the TV's been done loading for like five minutes so can we get on with the show finally?"

Not waiting for a response, the youngest twin was quick to hit the play button.

"More food, I can feel my body wrinkling!"

Tsunade, once more in her young form, shouted at a random Jonin who had just finished bringing her a tray of food. Now awake, she needed to take in a lot of calories to rapidly fill her drained chakra reserves. Just the wait it was taking to get more of her precious calories already caused her arms to gain a few wrinkles on them as her transformation started to come undone.

"Wow, it's like watching a grape turn into a raisin on fast forward." Nana muttered with Mea nodding in agreement as they watched wrinkles spreading up Tsunade's forearms.

"I'm more amazed by how much she's eating," Rito said while staring at the pile of food that was rapidly disappearing down the bodacious blonde's gullet. "She could give Lala a run for her money in an eating contest."

"I wouldn't be so sure about that actually," Mikan refuted with a shake of her head, getting her brother's attention. "She's only eating that much because she's exhausted and her body is burning through calories a lot quickly than it normally would. You'd probably be wolfing down a whole buffet too if you were in her place."

"You know, you're not that old looking Granny." Naruto walked into the tent and dodged the Jonin running out with a grin.

"I beg to diff-ow!" A sharp elbow to the gut cut Momo off mid-quip, making her flinch before turning to glare at her twin which the formerly flat-chested pinkette shared. "What was that for?"

"That was gonna be in poor taste and you know it."

He smiled at her.

"... Kakashi filled me in on what has been happening... This her?" Tsunade asked as Yami walked into the tent after Naruto. The same Jonin from earlier came back into the tent with several bowls of ramen, having seen Naruto coming in he made a good choice in the end. He sat them in front of Tsunade, and Naruto sat down across from her at the table.

Yami looked at Tsunade as she pigged out on ramen.

Her gaze focusing on the bowls of noodles, Yami couldn't help but lick her lips in hunger as Naruto's and her own descriptions of the dish rang through her mind. She wasn't alone in her desire either as Lala also stared at the ramen with a mix of curiosity and desire while Sephie wiped a small dribble of drool from her lips.

"Taking one of these... Yeah, this is Yami-chan. If Kakashi-sensei told you everything, then you know about Sakura..." Naruto pointed out in a dull tone. Tsunade set down her bowl of ramen and looked at Naruto, before she looked down and nodded her head sadly. "... I'm sorry... about everything I said to you about Pervy Sage... I understand that his actions were his own." Naruto apologized to Tsunade lowly.

She nodded.

Yami was just lost on this conversation.

"She's not the only one who's lost, pretty sure we're all missing a bit of context here. " Mea thought aloud with a tilted head while Yami nodded her head in agreement.

"Their talking about his master, he probably got angry at Tsunade when he found out he died and that's why he's apologizing to her," Luckily for the transforming duo, Mikan was much better at putting the subtext together than they were and explained it for them. "With how close they seemed to have been it wouldn't be a surprise if Naruto lashed out in grief."

Right as she finished, a pop-up appeared on screen showing Naruto and Tsunade along with Sakura, Kakashi, and an elderly Toad. There was no audio but they all could see the sadness on Naruto's face as he turned away and left, looking like he was only just keeping himself from breaking down right there on the spot.

"Awww… he looks so sad… I just wanna…" Not surprising anyone, Lala quickly grew emotional at the seen before glomping her mother and Rito in a hug with tears welled up in her eyes. What was surprising was that the normal easily flustered boy in her arms actually managed to keep his calm for once as he stroked the pinkette's hair comfortingly.

'Pervy... oh... Jiraiya.' Yami realized, from Naruto's own descriptions of the man told to her, that they were talking about his master.

"She was a good apprentice, and I had hopes she would surpass me. Sakura was always chasing after you and Sasuke... she should have known she wouldn't be able to kill Sasuke. The gap was simply too large for her to reach at her level. I was never angry at you for what you said about Jiraiya... I might have known him longer, but you were far closer to him than I was." Tsunade didn't like to admit it, but in the short time that Naruto and Jiraiya were together, they had formed a bond that her own bond with Jiraiya could never compete with. Then again, she spent years as a travelling drunk, while Jiraiya stayed loyal to Konoha and gathered information across the nations.

"It's only when the people you care about are gone forever that it finally hits just how much time you wasted not being with them." Mikan mumbled with a sigh before blinking as she felt something wrap brush against her side. Glancing down reflexively, she was surprised to see a rope of familiar golden locks discreetly curling itself around her waist.

A gentle tug the hair pulled the brunette just close enough to its owner's side that their shoulders were nudging. Smiling softly at the transforming teen's attempt at comfort, Mikan rested her head on Yami's shoulder while they continued to watch.

Naruto raised the ramen bowl.

"To our teammates." Naruto spoke with a smile.

"I hope those idiots rest in peace." Tsunade finished as she tapped her ramen bowl against Naruto's bowl, and the two of them slurped it down in literally seconds. Tsunade glanced over towards Yami, before she placed down her empty bowl. "So Golden Darkness... give me a reason I shouldn't punch you to the moon." Tsunade gave off a threatening aura as she looked at Naruto's wannabe-assassin.

"Ah the classic threatening the new girl/boyfriend shtick to see how tough they are, never gets old." Momo said with a giggle.

"Yeah… real funny…" A dull faced Rito chuckled sarcastically, his mind going back to all the times Gid had caused him trouble for being 'engaged' to Lala. This ranged from threatening to destroy the planet to telling the entire universe that whoever killed him would get Lala's hand in marriage instead.

"Uh, I'm not so sure she's joking," Sephie mumbled. "Naruto is the most important political member of the village, and the strongest, and Yami attacked him... the fact nobody has attacked her for it is because nobody else is the village leader... she might actually attack her."

"…That is a good point," The youngest princess agreed reluctantly with her mother, before quickly waving it off with a shrug. "Actually nah, I'm sure Naruto wouldn't let anything happen."

"Yeah and like that'd work on Yami-chan anyway," Mikan shook her head in amusement. "I've seen her stare down all sorts of stuff without even flinching, what is an old lady glare-"

"Orochimaru was her teammate, and we've see what he was capable of doing to people." Nana cut in, making the brunette freeze mid-sentence.

"…Yami, your other might be in trouble."

Yami froze.

Tsunade's Killing Intent was absolutely frightening, far more so than any of those Curse Mark users that she saw in Orochimaru's hideout. Her right hand, out of instinct, turned into a blade and she took up a defensive stance.

"I'm sorry, please don't hurt me!" The youngest Yuuki whimpered as the screen focused on Tsunade's face while a feeling of pure dread suddenly washing throughout the room that send shivers down everyone's spines.

On reflex, Yami's hair turned into a flurry of blades, Mea's arm transformed into a cannon, the twins grabbed each-other in a hug, and Rito was almost crushed by the combined fear hug of Lala and Sephie.

*Bonk*

"Seriously Granny, Yami-chan's sorry for what she did. Not the first time Orochimaru's tricked somebody, and even though he's dead, it won't be the last time." Naruto stated as he gave Tsunade a bop on her head for putting Yami on edge.

And just like the spell was broken… and not a moment too soon if the vibrant glow of energy from Mea's blaster was any indication. With the engulfing feeling of doom gone, she allowed the charge to disperse before reverting her hand to normal and bringing it to her chest with a shiver. "If that is just her feeling annoyed, I never want to know what its like when she's really angry."

"Agreed." Yami muttered, her hair slowing turning back to normal as it lowered, unintentionally blanketing Mikan in the golden locks as she kept clinging to the former assassin's back.

The girl had never had the chance to come into contact with Kage-level Killing Intent before, the fact that Yami didn't try to kill herself alone was impressive.

Usually, people tried to commit suicide when confronted with Jonin-level Killing Intent, at least they did if it was their first time dealing with the stuff.

"So they can literally kill you just by getting angry… that is so fucking hax." Momo said as she and Nana peeled themselves apart. The younger twin did her best to ignore the feeling of their breasts unsquashing as they did so, but she still couldn't help but frown bitterly at the reminder of her shrunken chest size. ' Stupid cosmic being stealing my breasts and giving them away…'

"For once we agree," Unaware of Momo's thoughts, Nana nodded her head in agreement with her sister. "I'm starting to think their planet should be labeled something higher than S class."

"I am deeply sorry for my previous actions." Yami transformed herself back to normal, her hand now once more a hand. She bowed out of respect towards Tsunade, who snorted and rubbed the top of her head where Naruto smacked her.

'She's in love with Naruto... I don't know how he does it... How many women have fallen for him now?' Tsunade glanced at Naruto.

Yami's cheeks gained a light blush at just how easily the medic had pegged her feelings for Naruto after just one sentence.

She had seen enough women fall for Naruto, that she knew the signs pretty well. From Koyuki Kazahana of the Land of Snow, to Haruna of the Land of Vegetables, and Shion from the Land of Demons, in fact, there were so many powerful political females who had fallen for her blond idiot that she would need both hands to count them.

Practically everywhere he went, he had women falling for him, and she (Tsunade) was able to instantly spot a girl who fell for him.

"Who wouldn't?" Momo asked rhetorically with a dreamy smile, recalling his genuinely sweet and caring personality and the surprising depth of emotional maturity hidden beneath his goofy antics.

…Alright, she was actually thinking about what she could do with the dozens of clones he could make and how much fun she could have with his ability to transform into anything or anyone. As evidenced by the small trickle of blood that started to run down her nose as she giggled perversely to herself.

' I'm not gonna even bother.' Shaking her head with a sigh, Nana didn't even bother scolding her sister and instead just enjoyed the rare moment of the younger twin being quiet.

"See, she's sorry. Anyway, now that you're awake, you need to recover quickly. We're all going to war, and we're going to win-"

"Except, I'm sending you on a mission of vital importance. If this works, then our chances in this war will be greatly increased." Tsunade stated to Naruto. Naruto looked at her in surprise that she was sending him on a mission at this time, but he nodded quietly, before he decided to speak up.

"What is it?"

"Golden Darkness, how many planets are there that are suitable for Naruto to train on, and master the use of the Kyuubi's chakra?" Tsunade asked Yami with narrowed eyes. Yami looked at her for a moment, before she placed her hand on her chin in thought. She couldn't think of a number out of the top of her head, but she knew that there were quite a few of them.

"That's a smart idea, make sure he's safe and uninterrupted while he trai-"

"It's a trick," Mikan cut Yami off mid-sentence, getting the blonde's attention. "She's using the oldest trick in the book for protective family members, making him think she's sending him off for something important when it's really just to get him out of harm's way."

"I can attest to that, I've done the same more than a few times with these three," Sephie admitted as she ruffled each of her daughter's heads, making her oldest preen happily at the attention whilst the younger duo both shot her sour looks as they remembered the instances she was talking about. "And I doubt that young man would agree to leaving otherwise, he's just too noble for such a thing."

"I see…" The transforming blonde muttered with a frown, disliking how her other self was being used like that but unable to argue against the logic of why.

"I know of three out of the top of my head that are the best choices... Planet Okiwana, that doesn't have civilizes life. Planet Mistletoe, which has a Level S classification, and Planet Memorze that is 80 percent harsh desert." Yami knew of several more planets, but they were far more civilized, and the risk of people getting hurt were too high.

"80 percent desert... sounds like the perfect place for Shukaku." Naruto muttered to himself.

"I'm not so sure the Memorians would agree." Nana stated, already imagining how upset the dual-gendered people would be if a giant sand tanuki was suddenly dropped into their back yard. While most of the planet was indeed uninhabited, that just meant what little land could be used was considered all the more valuable and they did not take well to… unexpected guests. Then there was the tailed beast's profile that popped on screen, describing his personality bombastic and childish, which would no doubt lead to a few issues down the road on its own.

Tsunade raised an eyebrow.

"The Ichibi?" Tsunade had to admit, that Naruto's words confused her. Naruto seemed to realize he said that out loud, and he turned a little pink in the cheeks. He nodded even though he was embarrassed at having revealed that.

Naruto gained a face of complete seriousness.

"I'm going to free the Tailed Beasts, and I'm going to scatter them across the Universe, so that they never have to be sealed away again. I'll find them all homes where they can be happy." Naruto told Tsunade, not asked for permission, but told her what he was going to do. This wasn't just something that was a whim, it needed to be done. "The Tailed Beasts aren't possessions that we own... it's time they got their freedom." Naruto told Tsunade before she could argue against him.

"Yeah, stop being mean to the big guys!" Lala cheered as she thrusted a fist into the air dramatically…

"Whaaaa-*Thump* …ow."

"Ah! Sorry Rito-kun!"

…Only to quickly regret it when the sudden movement sent Rito tumbling to the floor. Scrambling to her feet, the pinkette princess helped the poor boy back up while he nursed the lump that was already starting to grow on his head.

' Sheesh, at this rate we're going to get him a padded body suit for his own safety,' Nana thought with a sympathetic wince as she watched Rito be laid out on the bed beside his sister who was already prepping an ice pack for him. ' Never thought I'd say it but perhaps losing his stupid perv luck was a bad thing, at this rate he's gonna be more bruise than person.'

Tsunade glanced at him.

"... You've given up on becoming Hokage." Tsunade looked at Naruto with a frown.

He smiled.

"I told Sasuke, that a person who can't save one friend, can't become Hokage. I didn't give up on my dream... I'm keeping true to my word. Now, I'm following a new dream... I'm going to free the Tailed Beasts... not just from the Shinobi system... but also from the hatred inside of them... and that includes you." Naruto stated as he placed his hand firmly on his stomach with a grin. Tsunade's eyes widened when she realized the implications of his words, before she gazed at him with pride.

"Oh jeez, and here we go with the big feels again." As she spoke, Mikan double checked that there was enough tissues for everyone just in case this turned into another sob fest.

"... and I'll help." Yami pointed out softly.

"Aww~ Yami-chan is-" *WHAM*

Everyone blinked in surprise when Lala was smashed into the wall by a large fist of golden hair faster than most of them could blink. There she stayed for several moments, even after the hair fist retracted, splayed out like a starfish before slowly sliding down towards the floor. About halfway down though, she suddenly flopped free and hit the ground with a loud *thump* that seemed to echo throughout the room.

"…Owie…" She whimpered as she sat up and pouted at Yami with doe eyes, completely unharmed aside from a little redness on her face. "Why'd you do that Yami-chan?"

"I warned you that would happen if you tried to hug me again." Was all the transforming assassin said in a matter of fact tone, which just made the princess pout even more.

"Even the Hokage can't save everyone." Tsunade pointed out.

Naruto frowned.

"It's not about saving everyone. It's about saving the people closest to me. How can I defend this village, if I can't defend them? Maybe someday, I'll be ready to try for Hokage again... but travelling the Universe with Yami-chan, finding homes for the Tailed Beasts... they're important too... Anyway... I'll summon a Toad... the second I've mastered Kurama's power... I want you to summon me." Naruto stated to Tsunade as he extended his hand to her. She looked at him for a moment, before she saw the child that she met years ago... and then saw the Naruto she knew today.

"It is amazing how one can change so much yet still be the same." Sephie mumbled with a smile as Naruto was briefly replaced by a younger version of himself for a moment. Despite his younger age, she could still clearly see the determination and kindness that twinkled in the blonde's eyes as he smiled brightly at the Kage before it switched back to his current self again.

She grabbed his hand.

"Deal... but take Kakashi with you. His Sharingan will be-"

"No, this will be just me and Yami-chan. Kakashi-sensei is strong, and smart, you need him for this war." Naruto didn't want to lower the alliance's power by even one person if all possible. Kakashi was a great asset, with his Mangekyo Sharingan, he could be a key player in defeating one of the few remaining Akatsuki members if it came down to it.

"He's got a point, better not to stretch their numbers any thinner than they need too at this point." Yami agreed, unable to find a fault in her fellow blonde's reasoning. However, when she suddenly got the feeling she was being stared at, the transforming teen turned to see Mea looking right at her with the biggest Cheshire grin ever. "What?"

"You're just saying that because it means you get him all to yourself, aren't you? Just the two of you in your little ship with absolutely nobody to disturb you all day and night?"

Her cheeks gaining a light blush at what her 'sibling' was implying, Yami did her best to keep her expression neutral while shoving the redhead away. "…Shut up."

"I'm not hearing a denial~!" Momo chipped in with a sing-song tone… while safely hiding behind her mother to avoid retaliation.

Sadly, so focused on a frontal assault as usual the youngest pinkette had forgotten that Yami's hair could form much more than large blunt weaponry.

Shink* "YEOWCH!?" Thus she was caught completely by surprise when several thin strands slinking across the bed's surface suddenly sprung up from behind and stabbed into her behind.

Tsunade looked apprehensive at first, but she relented wordlessly, knowing that Naruto was going to do what he did best and come out on top.

"Golden Darkness... I'm letting you know this now... I don't like you. Naruto mastering his power, I'm entrusting guarding him from these alien assassins to you while he trains. You want to earn some trust... do a good job." Tsunade left a threat hanging off her words. It was unspoken, didn't need to be, because her tone of voice said everything.

Everyone in the room couldn't help but shiver at the unspoken threat.

Naruto poked her face.

"Wrinkles."

"Ah! More food, I still need to recover more chakra!" Tsunade shouted as Naruto placed his hands in his pockets, laughing the entire way he walked out of the tent. Yami stayed behind for a little bit and she closed her eyes.

"I won't let anything happen to him." Yami told Tsunade, who smirked at her knowingly.

That was the right answer.

"Wait, it's over already?" Nana's brow quirked when the screen switched back to loading all of a sudden. "What gives? That was like five minutes at most."

"Maybe the coiling system clogged again." Mea suggested with a shrug, causing Lala to hop to her feet.

"I'll check," Skipping over to her invention, the bubbly pinkette causally popped the side of it off so she could peer at the inner workings. Reaching a hand inside, she rummaged about for several moments before pulling back with a shrug. "Hmm, nope, everything seems to be in working order."

"But then why-" Nana started to say, only to be cut off by a suddenly rattling sound that echoed throughout the room. When it happened again, everyone's gaze snapped to the side of the room, specifically the doorway, to see the half squished and torn up doorknob shaking back and forth seemingly of its own volition.

Then, with a muffled squeal of metal grinding against metal, it started to turn…
