Chapter 3: The Interrogation

Reyna's POV
As the group entered I had Percy and Hazel sit on the floor while I sat in my praetor chair. It helped in these meetings so the new people didn't get ahead of themselves.
As everyone got situated Percy said, "So what are we doing here now?" I responded by saying "We need to know what we are doing with you." He showed panic when this was said. I snickered in response and said, "You had a goddess take your side you are pretty well vouched for, but we still need to know some about you." Percy visibly calmed.
I looked at the two and said "First Percy how did you get here" Percy discussed his training at the wolf house and his journey to camp, and after he got to the part right before the Caldecott tunnel Reyna looked at Hazel and asked her to pick up where he left off which she did and she told of his heroics and her thoughts upon seeing him at first.
As she was telling me about all these things I noticed Pery had zoned out. He was staring right at me but I had no idea what he was thinking and pretended not to notice.
When they were done telling their stories Reyna contemplated a minute about what all of this could mean. Once she finished thinking she looked at Hazel and said "Go help Frank in the armory, and I will take Percy to the Augur in a moment after discussing some things." Hazel nodded politely and gave Percy a look of pity, and left leaving just Percy and Reyna.
Percy POV
After I had finished telling my part of the story I kinda zoned out and stared at Reyna taking in her beauty. It may have been creepy, but to Percy, she might've well have been a goddess because when he looked at her that was all he could think about.
Once Hazel left, that brought him back to reality and he waited for Reyna to say something, and after about a minute I decided to break the silence and asked "So what are we doing now?" I asked as I reflexively rubbed the back of his head.
Reyna seemed to snap back to reality and responded "Yes, you asked how I knew you before" She took a deep breath before continuing.
"About 4 years ago you and another girl named Annabeth came to my home and before the day was done you two had destroyed it, me and my sister were kidnapped by pirates and had to fight for our freedom." I was shocked as to why I would ever do this, and that Annabeth girl he had no idea who that was but he did feel a nagging sensation in the back of his mind like he should know her he just couldn't place it.
I looked at Reyna and saw how sad the topic made her and out of impulse I walked over to her and wrapped his arms around giving her a hug, and whispered "I'm sorry." I was scared this was going to get me stabbed but it felt like the right thing to do.
Reyna's POV
Reyna was shocked when she told him this story. I didn't expect him to hug me. I did think he was extremely handsome and maybe she did have some feelings for him, but this pushed her over the edge and the apology just made her heart flutter as she hugged him back. If anybody else had tried to do this it would have earned them a knee to the groin and maybe a nice new stab wound.
After a minute Percy let go and went back over to his seat on the floor he was visibly blushing and from the heat on my face I knew I was too, and that knowledge just made me blush more.
I looked at Percy and continued on with my story of how I joined the legion and rose to the rank of praetor on my own merits. Percy looked surprised, to say the least.
Then I got to the present and said what I had been thinking about Percy. I said, "I believe the gods sent you here for a reason to help me with this camp." I gave him a moment to digest before continuing
"After the disappearance of Jason, there was a big hole in the legion I think you are meant to fill it. that's why I think you are here you may even be stronger than Jason (also more handsome she wanted to add but decided against it) I think you could be a powerful ally in the war against Gaea, and I will protect this camp, and city but it would be easier with your help." I told him.
Percy looked at me for a second and responded saying "I am fine with that. I haven't been here long but I want to help you… and the rest of the people here" he quickly added while rubbing the back of his neck and blushing profusely. I nodded and said "Let's go see what the augur has to say about you. I must warn you though he might not look like much but he is dangerous in his own way" He nodded though it was clear he was trying to think about ways he could be dangerous.
Time skip Percy has been accepted.
Percy's POV
I saw what Reyna meant about him being dangerous. He was very persuasive but somehow he was able to see through the lies and understand what the augur was getting at. After leaving he voiced his opinions about Octavian saying "I really don't like that guy" Reyna agreed with that remark and started to lead him to dinner where he would find which cohort he got placed in. That's when she saw a guy who was extremely pale and in black clothes. She started making her way towards him so I followed.
Once we got within a few feet of him he laid his eyes on me and jumped back about a foot. Before regaining some composure once he had done so enough to talk the guy looked at Reyna and said "Who is he, new recruit?" "yeah," she said "how'd you know" her eyes boring into him. He stared right back not flinching and responded "Lucky guess I guess" I knew he was lying and I think Reyna did as well.
He stuck his hand out to me and said "Hi I am Nico Di Angelo Ambassador of Pluto" I shook his hand and said "Percy Jackson son of Neptune" I noticed Reyna watching the exchange carefully once it finished she said "I'm going to take Percy down to supper after that i am going to need a word with" Her words leaving no room for debate. He simply nodded in response and walked away.
I couldn't help but think that he seemed very familiar it felt comfortable around him.
Nico's POV
I was freaking out. Why was Percy here he should be at Camp Half-Blood then I thought about Jason and realized they were switched that must be why he doesn't remember me. After I had left camp Percy had Iris messaged me at least once every week. He always said It's what a good brother should do and he was a good brother I loved him and Thaila like siblings and they loved me the same. It felt good to have people who cared about you.
I was a bit nervous about that meeting with Reyna though. She had those lie-detecting dogs so I decided I would tell the trust partly at least.
