Chapter 2
We all stood up and bowed to them as they stood in the center of the stage. When King Adam motioned for everyone to take a seat, we all did and we waited for the speech to start. The thing is it didn't start right away, Queen Belle motioned to a woman with her hair in a bun and in a blue dress with a red ribbon around the waist. She stood next to the royal family and held a famous wand everyone knew.
"Welcome people of Auradon and the people of the Isle who let's not forget it is still part of Auradon," King Adam said, making some laugh.
"It is our greatest pleasure to welcome the newest editions to our fairytale world," He continued, which left all of the kids confused.
"You have all come of age and it is time you learn the truth about each villain and heroes stories that are known everywhere. Fairy Godmother is here to show and explain to you what we mean," he finished saying and motioned to Fairy Godmother to take over.
"Thank you King Adam, now everyone please pay attention," She said as she waved her wand and a vortex appeared that started showing images of young kids going to school.
"The story of Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast and so many others weren't by chance, they were planned and chosen by the book of destiny."
"WHAT!" A lot of the kids shouted in shock and outraged.
"SILENCE WHILE SHE FINISHES," the King yelled and everyone got quiet.
"It will be hard to understand and believe but we are a fairytale world that is separate from the real world. We are here to make stories to teach these people in this other dimension right from wrong," she stated while swishing her wand and the vision was changed to a world unrecognizable by those present.
A swarm of people were walking on streets shoulder to shoulder talking on their phones, it was changed to little kids reading books which they recognized as their parents lives. It was all confusing and it started to freak out a lot of the kids.
"Our Job is to play the part the book of destiny assigns to us, without it and us not only our world will cease to exist, but this world here will fall into chaos," she said motioning to this other world none of the kids knew existed before today.
"This doesn't make sense."
"Why is this happening to us?"
"Villains are awful and evil."
"That's right, no way they were just playing a part.
"ENOUGH, ARE YOU SAYING WE ARE LIARS," King Adam shouted which shut up the majority of the guest there.
"There is a reason for this, every person born here will have a part to play that will affect this world we are meant to guide and teach. That's why you are here today, each one of you will be assigned a hero role, a supporting role, and a villain role," he finished saying which threw everything back into chaos.
"NO! Villain kids are villains and Hero kids are heroes that is how it is," A pretty brunette in a pink dress said in anger.
"That's where you are wrong, you Audrey could end up in a villain role instead of a hero role like your parents," Queen Belle said to her.
"Impossible, I'm a princess and will be the future queen of Auradon. That is my destiny and nothing you or this book of destiny will say otherwise," Audrey stated proudly which made Prince Ben and the others roll their eyes.
"That's the other thing we are here to discuss, because we are given these roles the book of destiny gifted us what we call soulmates," Fairy Godmother said, making all the kids give her their full attention.
"Maleficent, can you please come up here and help me explain it please," she asked and Mal's mother grabbed her scepter and walked up to the stage.
As she walked by all the kids got closer to their parents and Audrey gave a scared and disgusted look towards her as she walked by. She elegantly walked up the steps and bowed in respect to the royal family and smiled fondly at Fairy godmother.
"Hello, my name is Maleficent but you all know me as the mistress of all evil," she stated and her scepter glowed green and smoke came out of it surrounding her in its ethereal light and coloring.
"Before I became known as the villain who cursed Aurora briar rose into eternal sleep, I was the fairy guardian of the moors. My job was to protect that forest and all the beings that reside there. I still do it," Mal's mother started saying and it captivated not only her daughter's attention but everyone else as well.
"I unlike some knew before I turned 15 about this book of destiny and I was ready to accept my fate, because I would be awarded a love so strong and true from the book of destiny," she said which drew the villain's kids as well as the Auradon kids in.
"To thank us this book gives us soulmate marks that appear as a tattoo designed to match the person who will love and cherish you for all eternity," she said and proudly showed off her wrist which was a skull surrounded by a flame with two large bird wings on the side of it.
"Some are lucky to find their soulmates before their story starts, but others won't find theirs until after their story is completed. I was lucky enough to find my soulmate the exact same day I received my mark and was assigned a villain role." She said happily looking straight at Hades and made the kids see her in a different light.
"The role you are assigned is what school you will get into, villains and heroes go to Auradon Academy. Those who have a single Greek God as a parent will be assigned their roles and will attend the Demigod Institute, and those who are assigned supporting roles will attend the school for the gifted." Fairy Godmother stated which threw the room into chaos once again.
"That's why I can't attend the Demigod school? But I have you as a father and you are a God," Mal said to her dad confused.
"But your mother is the strongest fairy around, and you have more of your mother's power in you than mine. Besides, the majority of the time, kids of villains are assigned villain roles," he said to her while giving her a hug.
"I hope my soulmate is a prince," Evie sighed dreamily.
"I'm getting that villain role for sure, i'll be so good at it," Jay said and high fived his father.
"Playing the villain while actually not being one makes it more appealing for sure," Carlos stated in excitement.
"Now that explanations are done can I please have all 15 year olds approach the stage so we can start with the ceremony," Fairy Godmother said as Mal, her friends and others made their approach.
"Watch where you're going, purple hair freak," Audrey said to Mal in disgust.
"Seriously, I bet people only tolerate you bubblegum princess," Mal said back to her.
"Ugh, I am a princess, the daughter of sleeping beauty herself and will be the future queen, show me some respect you devil spawn devil spawn of the evil fairy."
"You're about as important to me as a white crayon," she said to the rude pink princess and she gave an ugly screech.
"Ben see how she is talking to me to do something," she cried out to the prince who scrunched his face up and started rubbing his ears.
"Princess Audrey you were rude first and please stop assuming anything having to do with the crown or me," he said to her which left her speechless.
"I'm sorry about her, I'm sorry I didn't get your name," Ben said as he stared at this beautiful vision of a girl. She left him speechless when she gave a smile to him.
"I'm Mal daughter of Maleficent and Hades," she said to him and he quickly bowed down to her and she curtsied back to him.
"After the ceremony is completed, let's hang out. I would like to get to know you and the other kids from the Isle of course," he managed to stutter out hoping she didn't notice he only really wanted to get to know her.
"Maybe," Mal said to him as she looked at her friends who were watching the fairy godmother and her mother move both the scepter of evil and the wand of goodness over the pensive.
"With the scepter of evil and the wand of goodness we call on the book of destiny to show itself," both fairy's said together the liquid inside the pensive floated up in the air and shined so bright everyone had to cover their eyes.
When the light was gone everyone looked stunned as a white and gold book that looked like it had the galaxy moving throughout the cover floated above the pensive. Fairy Godmother and Maleficent stood on opposite sides of the pensive.
"Now form a single file line and you all will come up to the book one by one and place your hand on it," Fairy Godmother said to everyone.
"At the same time your soulmate mark will appear on your wrist. You can either try to find your soulmate right away or wait and let fate take its course," Maleficent said and it got all the kids excited.
"I'm obviously going to be a hero and be Ben's soulmate, it is my destiny after all," Audrey said, which had Mal roll her eyes at her.
Mal stood in front of Audrey and in front of her was Evie, then Carlos, and Jay. They were in the middle portion of the line but they were together. Mal talked with them as they waited their turns, and Mal was surprised to find out that Harry Hook was interested in her and was hoping to be her soulmate. That threw her in for a loop because her cousin Uma had a thing for him.
"What do you think you guys will be assigned?" Evie asked.
"I'm most likely a villain, I mean daughter of the king of the underworld and the evil fairy," I said to her proudly.
"Same here," Jay stated and Carlos agreed with him.
"I don't mind as long as I can be with you guys," Evie said shyly and Mal gave her a side hug.
