A/N: thanks for all the favs and follows! I was hoping for more reviews or a DM or two to let me know if my story sucked or was worth continuing, but I decided to try continue anyway!

Yey for me!

So as you well know I'm an amateur with chronic swift onset writers block and an unreliable update schedule, so please forgive me for not uploading often

R Please let me know how this is doing and help me keep on track with what I've already written! I'm doing this on the fly with no plan!

Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.

On with the story! Alons-y!

Chapter one: lighting strikes twice

Jaune Arc, a man of humble and bumbling origins, had woken up on a very uncomfortable sofa couch in the office assigned to the two you huntsman teams of RWBY & ORNJ and was thoroughly confused as to how he had gotten there, hadn't they only just returned from their mission? Shouldn't he be doing the dreaded paperwork that his position as leader demanded of him?

And then the memories of what happened just as they were returning hit him over the head like Magnihild was swung at him full force.

'Wait minute, did Nora and I really just kinda, sorta, get together-together? ' the thought both thrilled him and made him panic, how could he confirm this, if he was wrong and it was just some fever dream brought on by lack of sleep and constant exertion from the mission and he brought it up how would everyone react? The embarrassment and emotional backlash would kill him!

He hadn't opened his eyes yet, for fear of learning that he had in fact dreamed the whole situation up, he was however aware of something soft and comfortable under his head, supporting it, and there was a delicate yet strong hand playing with his golden locks. His eyes snapped open and stared up, stunned, directly at the underside of Nora's chest as she slightly leaned forward while looking at the old TV screen the teens had dragged into their office.

Jaune's face instantly went bright fire truck red as he realised he was laying on the couch with his head in Nora's lap! That was definitely a good sign that it wasn't a dream, how Nora was able to sit still long enough for him to wake up was a mystery to him however

"Nora?" He croaked out dryly, his mouth having dried up as he slept. She shifted back slightly, allowing him to see her face as her chest was shifted out of his direct view.

"Hey Jaune-y, did ya sleep well?" The redhead bomber girl replied softly, her hands not ceasing their tender ministrations on his hair, 'that's a bit odd, Nora's calm..' he thought to himself, he half expected her to suddenly explode into her usual antics and make jokes or to suddenly turn out to be someone who could alter their appearance and reveal the cruel joke.

He decided to test the waters a bit. "H-Hey Nora? You do realise I'm on your lap right?" He stuttered slightly, he was still as red as a tomato and, while he was comfortable on her wondrous thicc thighs, he was decidedly uncomfortable with being there when he didn't know the state of their relationship.

"Yep! Special, capital B, boyfriend privilege!" She responded the usual energy in her voice starting to return.

"So that actually happened? It wasn't just me dreaming after getting knocked out or something?" He pondered aloud, slowly calming down and getting comfortable again. "I'm glad, I was a bit nervous thinking that I'd wake up and find out that it wasn't real."

he turned his head towards the TV after he said that, he saw that it was turned onto a old cartoon he remembered from his childhood 'HUNTSMAN and THE SEVEN COLOUR RANGERS ! ' the cartoon was playing out one of its cheesy plots where Huntsman and his friends were beating up some trumped up grimm themed bad guy, the volume was lowered to be barely audible making it easy for him to hear the girlish, almost positively love struck, tittering giggle that came from Nora "Silly, course it happened! You and me are gonna be the most badass, leg breaking-ist couple ever!" She crowed loudly. Thankfully the room was empty, he wouldn't die of embarrassment today.

he could feel her, until now suppressed, need to move and so he slowly, somewhat reluctantly, lifted his head from the soft, plush, pillow that was her powerful thighs.

"So where is everyone? I can't have been out that long? You can't usually stay that still for long." He quipped, as he wondered where the rest were. "also I should probably go get my report done, Lt. Lyca'll have pups if I don't get it don't get it done soon." he added remembering that the taskforce's second in command had a rather compulsive penchant for making sure all paperwork was done properly and promptly, usually filed in triplicate.

"Don't worry babe, Capt. is distracting her with all the paperwork she has to do to cover his butt for basically mind controlling that guy we just caught." Nora all but cackled. 'Babe?! ' Jaune startled. 'We're already at pet names?!'

He jolted himself out of his panicked thoughts as he looked around the space his friends had occupied for only half a year since they were recruited by the Faunus man in charge. He saw all the little touches that made the office theirs.

Ruby's desk was a chaotic balancing act between weapon parts and paperwork, precariously arranged and threatening to topple at any time or at the slightest nudge.

directly beside that sat the desk of Weiss, the former Schnee heiress had her desk neatly arranged with everything in its predetermined place and not a single sheaf of paper out of place.

Yang's desk was sitting back to back with Ruby's, and basically was just a workspace for her to fix her mechanical arm and her shotgun gauntlet, Ember Cecelia, and a space for her to goof off watching the odd video on 'Dust-tube'.

Blake's desk was much the same as that of Weiss, the only major difference being that she had news clippings and information packets on things like White Fang splinter group sightings and potential leads on the current search for the missing Faunus.

that was if for the team RWBY desks, slightly chaotic and yet balanced, much like their team. Then there was the desks of his own team.

His desk had large stacks of papers and books on it as well as the only computer they had been able to get access to in the, still underfunded, FCT. He had added a few touches from home to make it more homey, like a photo frame with pictures of his team, family and friends scrolling across it. He also had a small area set aside for minor maintenance on the small fire arm Ruby had convinced him to build, it wasn't ready for live use yet but once it was done he'd hopefully have a new versatile addition to his arsenal.

beside his desk was the one that belonged to the youngest of the group, Oscar's desk didn't hold much on its surface, just a few tools here and there for working on the moving parts of his weapon Long Memory and some comics that he liked to read. While he still did his best to help with paperwork and other things, the group had decided that he needed to spend as much time as possible just being a young kid, before his mind inevitably was fully merged with the mind of their former headmaster.

then there was Ren and Nora's desks.

Rena desk had been lined up back to back with Oscar's and had his salvaged tea making set and the tools to maintain StormFlower on one side and on the other had almost the same sized pile of papers as Jaune's, only the ones on Ren's had been almost completely filled in, organised, annotated and notarised.

Nora's desk was absolute chaos, scattered cans of unidentified soda and snack wrappers were all over it, thankfully not making its way into the area set aside for where she maintained Magnihild, that area strangely spotless bar a few oil stains and spare parts, and the odd grenade shell.

Jaune took this all in as a way to reset his mind and focus, he could be a giddy teenager with his first real Girlfriend latter, right now he had to focus in and get his work done so he could have the time to spend with his bubbly redhead girlfriend. He was still awed by how fast that had happened.

"I'm gonna crack on and get my report done and out of the way Nora, there might be something in there that can help us get some more info to help boost whatever Nic gets out of Steel-Lock, then m-maybe we can go out for a d-dinner d-date?" He said starting out calm and strong but beginning to stutter and fidget by the end. He looked at her as he moved over to his desk to start on the aforementioned work.

He saw her flush slightly and grin at him as she registered that he was asking her on their first official date.

"Sure Jaune-y!" She quickly agreed, her happiness practically radiating from her body as she sprung up and shook out her legs. 'Okay so I was out long enough for her legs to go to sleep, I'm surprised she was able to sit still for that long' he thought watching her stretch with interest.

he was definitely doomed, her short, powerfully built yet curvy body, would be the death of him, especially if he was caught blatantly staring at her like he was.

He shook his head and sat down at his desk thankful that it would hide his growing problem downstairs 'down hormones! Not the time! ' he berated.

"Cool, how bout that new diner they built down the block?" He asked. He started on the first of many pages on his pile.

"That sounds awesome! I'm gonna go wash up and hang out with everyone else till you're done!" She chirped happily. She skipped up to him and quickly pecked his cheek, setting them ablaze with shock and embarrassment.

yep she would definitely be the death of him. His heart had almost just exploded.

A/N: Mandatory Eye Rest.

A/N: Mandatory Eye Rest End.

Deep in a mountain range, one hundred and fifty kilometres from mountain Glenn, hid a large sprawling complex dug in under the surface. The few buildings remaining above ground were heavily fortified and patrolled by fully armed men and women who wore red Grimm masks that covered from the eye down to the mouth. The masks they wore were the only piece of colour they wore as everything else, even the weapons they used, was pitch black.

In the very centre of the complex there was an isolated room lit with only the dimmest light.

"Steel-Lock has failed, Master, he was captured by the forces of subject one, I suggest we send an agent to terminate the loose end." A prim, wisened, voice called out into the dark room. The voice had come from a small, rake thin, figure standing by the only light source bright enough to illuminate their silhouette. They also happened to be the only person in the entire compound to wear anything other than black and a red mask, the person wore pure white pants tightly wrapped with buckles and straps, a pure white shirt with the same and a large oversized pure white lab coat. On their face they wore a white-silver plague mask shaped like a ravens beak.

The being was androgynous in form. They liked it that way, it was easier to hide things when you can fake whatever gender will make people keep their hands to themselves. The body augments they'd performed on themselves helped with that as well. The figure in white faced the centre of the room where their master presumably resided and waited for the inevitable response.

"Do as you please, Researcher, I believe zat subject one vill return on zeir own." A heavily Germanic accent responded(A/N: please forgive any stereotypes I may use for this characters way of speech it's not meant to be offensive, just a characterisation.) Researcher couldn't see their master but they didn't need to, just hearing the rumble of the master's voice was enough.

"very well, my master, I shall only endeavour to nudge subject one in the right direction." Researcher replied with a bow. One did not brook argument with the Master, lest their body leave without its original host.

Reasearcher bowed one more time as they took their leave, the only sound to come from the room after they left was a sudden cold and malice filled laughter that seemed to resonate from the walls of the room itself.

A/N: Mandatory Eye Rest.

A/N: Mandatory Eye Rest End.

He sat at the bar, nursing his glass of whiskey and ginger, the DJ in the corner was playing a high beat mix and everyone was having a good time out on the floor. He knew, thanks in part due to his semblance, that he would soon have some less than ideal company in the club fairly soon and he was ready.

clack, clack, clack, clack, THUMP! The sound of an iron capped cane, scratching up the floor something terrible no doubt, came up behind him. He sat still on his bar stool and gave a nod to the bartender, a sturdily built fox Faunus woman wearing a crisp gray and black bartender's uniform with a clipped left ear and a scar over her right eye coming from the middle of her forehead down to the base of her jaw, warning her to start clearing the floor of innocents. There was a snap of her fingers down by a small, hidden, microphone on her lapel and suddenly dozens of similarly clad Faunus were calmly, discreetly ushering the clubs clientele out of the building.

"Thank you, Fennec." The man at the bar murmured as he waved a hand to the DJ to continue with the next medley (A/N :start 'yellow trailer'.) he sat there at the bar and pretended to ignore the short, rotund, man behind him that wore a black three piece suit and wore small round sunglasses over his beady eyes (A/N if you're familiar with'Naruto' think the little guy that was bossing Zabuza around, Gatō.)

"Nice little dive you got here, shame it's filled with some many animals though." The round man sneered. "I'd be happy to take the place of your hands and give it a thorough cleaning."

As the man's words reached the man at the bar he turned on his seat to face the racist. "Care for a drink?" Was all the man at the bar replied. Raising his half finished drink and giving it a slight swirl before tilting it back in one last gulp.

"The name is Lobo, and I'm the guy who runs this part of town so you opening this animal shelter in my city ain't gonna fly with me capisce?" Round man cut in, quickly getting annoyed at being brushed off. "If you don't clear outta here tonight, well I'll just have to get my boys to make an example outta some of the less marketable animals here." He finished threateningly, glancing at the Faunus woman behind the bar still calmly wiping out a glass. He thumped his cane against the floor twice, signalling his goons to flood in with weapons drawn, red domino masks covering their eyes, with sky-blue ties and gloves on adding a dash of colour to their otherwise colourless suits.

The man at the bar stood slowly brushing down his gray suit, and taking the trilby hat from his head revealing his fluffy, blue-black wolf ears. He took off his jacket and flourished his hand, a bushy tail appeared as if from nowhere.

His eyes were flickering between colours to the beat of the music as it began to pick up. As he rolled up his sleeves, he pulled out a pair of bladed knuckle dusters from his pockets and slid them on, he flexed his fingers and shook out his arms.

"Right, well I'm not sure how fair this fight is going to be but how about we get it out of the way shall we gents?" The now revealed Faunus man. " by the way my name is Nicklaus KingsWolfe, Captain Nicklaus KingsWolfe of the new FCT, and yes this is my bar but this is definitely not your town."

Lobo scowled at Nicklaus and pointed his cane at him. "Boys! Kill him!" He shouted. The goons rushed in swinging at the Faunus man who began to duck and weave in a loose boxing stance, timed almost perfectly to the beat of the music, he swung back with powerful punches, jab, jab, hook, cross, elbow, uppercut, etc. he started to mix in kicks and MMA grappling moves as the tempo of the music changed, he kicked one grunt up into the air and proceeded to leap up spinning and kicking the poor man repeatedly before smashing him down to the floor (A/N: think of Sasuke's lions barrage.)

As he landed he smoothed down the few wrinkles that had appeared as a result of his sudden movements.

"So, shall we have that drink now?" He quipped calmly, taking one of the bladed knuckle dusters of his hand and throwing it to pierce the ground between Lobo's feet making the man fall back in fright. "Also what did the old one really send you here for Lobo? They should already know by now that goons like you can't get to me."

'It was worth it to detach Twin Fangs from Variable Claw for tonight." He thought as he signalled Fennec to poor him another drink, barely paying attention to the snivelling wreck currently pissing himself on his dance floor. As he sat at the bar he began to recall his past and how it may be what was causing all this mess with the missing Faunus, he sighed and took a large sip of his drink as the song finally ended, sometimes lightning had to strike twice for the message to get through not to mess with a wild force of nature.

A/N: so that's the end of that one I hope the switches weren't too jarring, this was mostly just trying to set things going in the direction I am somewhat aiming in, with I tiny snippet of Jaune and Nora at the beginning to let you know that they are still a part of the story and will have a role as the actual main characters of this fic.

If you like this monstrosity so far, please leave a review and let me know, I crave validation from strangers ;-p
