CH.11
Nick got picked up by one of Mirage's crew and was transported to her boss's base of operations. In his opinion the place looked like an extravagant resort. After being guided to his room for the night, Nick began to change out of his hero attire and put on a suit and tie while leaving on his mask. Even though Mirage and her boss knows his secret identity, it does not mean that Nick should go about casually. That is a superhero newbie's mistake. Currently looking at himself in the mirror, Nick relaxed himself before going to have this dinner invite at a certain time.
And based upon business profession, Nick is going to be there ahead of schedule to help boost a good relationship with the animal who has offered him the chance to be a hero once again. Taking the elevator down to the floor based on the instructions that were written down on the card, Nick finds himself facing the black double doors and approaches with no hesitation.
"Alright here we go." Nick slightly opened the door to the left.
Before he could open all the way, his eyes caught sight of the active lava flow wall and see it open itself up. Nick quickly closed the door but not too much so he can see what is going on. When doing so he sees Mirage walking through the inside of the lava wall as he can see that there is something inside the wall. He looked closely to see Mirage turned around and spoke to someone that was behind her. Nick can see that it is another fox. A male fox to be precise based on the shadow that is showing. Nick assumes that this fox is the boss of the whole thing as he can see that the boss is being mysterious.
After talking to her boss, Mirage watched the lava wall close itself up before hearing something from afar and looked over to see the door. She looked at it as it was closed before going over there to see who was on the other side. When opening the double doors, Mirage sees Nick getting out of the elevator looking fresh and confident.
"I hope I am not overdressed, Ms. Mirage." said Nick, giving his cocky look.
Mirage smirked in interest. "Actually you look rather smashing. Please come in."
Nick entered the massive gorgeous room and sat down at the end of the table while Mirage sat at the other end. Nick looked at the amazing spread of fresh cooked meals as he took his time eating while talking more with Mirage.
"You know, I was hoping to meet the employer who hired my service. I am kinda disappointed." said Nick, taking a bite of his tuna in a blanket.
Mirage, who set her wine glass down, looked at Nick with a sweet smile. "My employer wants me to inform you that he apologies for not joining us for dinner. He has tons of work that he needs to handle. He also goes on to say thank you for saving his island from ASAI."
Nick nodded, taking a sip of his water. "It's a tough job, but someone's gotta do it." He glanced around the room, noticing the intricate details of the decor. "Your boss has quite the taste. This place is like a volcanic Hotel Bellwether."
Mirage's smile widened. "Indeed, he does appreciate the finer things in life. But let's get down to business, shall we?" She leaned back in her chair, folding her arms. "You are the best suited for this task, Mr. Fox."
Nick swallowed his mouthful, nodding. "That's right. I am the best hero in the Glory Day era."
Mirage leaned forward, her eyes sharp. "That's what we need. A hero who isn't just good at fighting, but also at getting in and out when doing the job. Is there a reason why your boss choose to settle down on a uncharted island with a huge activate volcano."
"He wants to live on land where he does not have to pay property taxes. As for the volcano, he is drawn to power. It represents his determination. He will do anything to get what he wants no matter how much he has to burn anything or anyone that gets in his way to do it. Plus, his genius is beyond his time. Everything is powered by the volcano which is an incredible renewable energy source, and volcanic soil is the best soil to grow crops. The food that you see is the product of volcanic soil along with plant based food that helps make our seafood taste outstanding. Let alone the wine" said Mirage.
Nick grabbed the other class that is filled with white wine and took a sip. "Mmmm."
Mirage smirked. "How does it compare to regular wine from normal vineyards?."
Nick smiled and raised his glass. "Everything is excellent."
After dinner and staying for the night along with getting informed about coming to the island every so often by phone call, Nick drived himself back home with a whole brand new attitude. An attitude that is a breath of fresh air for himself and his family. Starting with his wife. Once entering the house and dropping off his suitcase in his private studies. Then he went to the backyard to where Judy will be at this time of day which is watering her garden. Judy remembered Nick refusing her offer and just spent those times being a true couchpotato while watching tv and eating Kentucky fried crickets. Nick checked the scale again and sees that he burned a little bit of weight. "It is a start."
Nick exited the bathroom and exited out of the bedroom and walked his way to grab his phone to go subscribe to a fitness magazine. During his time away on the island after Mirage had texted him of another incident and went right on back to the island. With Judy not knowing what is truly going on, waved her husband goodbye when dropped off in the morning. Time went on that day which turned to evening as Judy was in the garage doing some little cleaning after getting off work, and heard a horn hunk as she saw her fox pulled up.
Judy puts her hands on her hips and gives a cocky smile. "You're home so soon on the same day."
Nick shut the door to his car and hugged Judy before kissing her. "The higher ups have made it a quick trip and put me on the fastest private jet that money can buy. Plus, I have a surprise for you."
"A surprise?. For me?." Judy felt all excited while being guided and getting her eyes covered.
Nick guided her off their driveway and put his paws off her eyes. "Surprise."
Judy looked at what her husband had gotten for her. She gasped with her paws covering her mouth when seeing a brand new silver Tesla sitting on their curve
"A brand new Tesla!." Judy looked at Nick. "Your job must have been giving you a whole lot of carrots!."
Nick chuckled and nodded. "It's the least they could do for all the overtime we've been putting in. But, it's not just any Tesla. It's the latest model with all the bells and whistles. Autopilot, heated seats, the works."
Judy's eyes lit up like Christmas lights. "Wow, Nick, I can't believe it! This is... incredible!."
"You're incredible, Carrot Muffin." Nick hugged his wife before guiding her to their new second car and lets her ride it.
Judy couldn't help but to squeal in delight as she slid into the driver's seat of the sleek, futuristic vehicle. The leather felt cool and supple beneath her touch, and the dashboard gleamed with all sorts of high-tech gadgets that she had only dreamed of. "This is just... wow," she murmured, running her paws over the steering wheel.
Nick circled around to the passenger side, his grin mirroring hers. "Take it for a spin," he encouraged, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "See what she can do."
Judy's heart raced as she started the engine. It hummed quietly, a stark contrast to the roar of traditional cars. She eased her foot onto the accelerator, and the Tesla glided smoothly down the street. The sensation of power beneath her paws was exhilarating, and she couldn't help but laugh out loud. The car's acceleration was instant, and the handling was so precise it felt like an extension of her own body. She zipped through the quiet neighborhood, the electric motor whispering a promise of adventure. Nick did not stop there. As for Dash, he took his boy to Walmart and got him that full action figure set of Dragon Ball Super. Dash was in such utter joy when he got them and began playing with them with Jennifer. The next day, Judy had to work, so Nick took the wheel, dropping off Violet at school in their new ride. The other kids stared in awe as Violet climbed out of the gleaming Tesla, her tail wagging proudly. Nick watched her bound up the school steps before driving off, feeling a warmth in his chest that had been missing for a while. He is giving his family what they rightfully deserves.
Nick switched his wear to workout gear and took himself to the railyard to have a proper workout. Bobby, who is an old grayed gorilla along with being the owner of the railyard and Nick's old childhood superhero of the Classic era, have let Nick use his railyard to get a true workout and just tells him to not get himself exposed from unwanted attention. Nick found himself lifting two train carts to help build his biceps that he let get muscleless and not at its peak. Then he went to pulling the cart through the tracks by two strong chains when running and breaking a good sweat. After spending the time working out and went back to picking up his kids, Nick walked his way through the house with an easygoing attitude while the kids were at the table doing their homework.
Judy, who is doing loads and loads of laundry, was walking with a basket of fresh dried clothes and is going to take them to the living room to go fold them. Nick watched his bunny wife having a rough time carrying the basket as she did not mind as she passed her husband. At that exact same moment, Nick took a quick grab of Judy's ass which made her stop in her tracks in utter shock for a brief moment. Nick was inches away from going into his personal study room but was stopped when feeling his tail being pulled. Judy rolled her eyes, but the warmth of his affection washed over her. She had noticed his recent efforts to get back in shape and it made her heart swell with pride. "Well, I'm not done with you yet, mister," she said, tossing a towel at him. "You're going to need to keep this up if you want to keep up with me."
Nick caught the towel with a flourish. "Oh, I plan to," he said, a mischievous glint in his eye. "But for now, let's focus on the important things." He took the basket from her and started to fold the clothes. "How was your day, darling?."
Time has gone on as Nick is improving so well in getting himself back into shape. He started pulling full train carts that were loaded with heavy cargo and put some strength into it. He took a quick moment to stop lifting the train cart when hearing an incoming train as he leaned back and gave the driver a two piece salute, which he received a quick toot toot. He began to look real slim and began to shop for much more fitting clothes. This turned Judy on big time when seeing Nick so fit and lean like he did from back in the day. Nick smiled with a nod. "Oh, yes, I am back in the greatest shape in my life. And here I was worried about having myself volunteer at a nearby boot camp."
Getting off the scale and going to his bed where his briefcase is to have a good look at his hero suit. He was disappointed when seeing how very well damaged it was. The damage that his suit endured when battling ASAI has really reduced his beloved suit into rags. He tried sowing the back and front but the strings got loose and the suit's starting to major dry rot.
"Ah, dammit." Nick looked at his old suit. "Hmmm, looks like I am going to see an old trusted best friend today."
"Honey, hurry up before you are late for work!." called Judy.
Nick quickly put his suit back in the briefcase before locking it back. "Coming!."
Nick made his way out of the bedroom and headed to the front door where Judy is waiting for him with a large cup of freshly hot coffee with stirred cream and sugar.
"Here you go, honey." Judy sweetly said when handing him the cup. She started straightening up his tie. "Now, go out there and bring in potential clients. Give or not give loans..."
"And bring home that breadwinner?." Nick grinned before being kissed on the lips.
"With extra creamy butter." said Judy, before opening the door to let her husband out the door.
Judy watched Nick get into the Tesla as she kept her eyes on his fit figure and felt her womanhood getting wet. She watched him drive off before closing the door back. "Mmmm, I just love a man in uniform."
Nick took a long route to get to the Outback Land district and found himself on private grounds as he pulled up in from a massive lazer gate that is protecting the massive multi level mansion. "Can I help you?." She asked in a serious tone.
"Yes, I am here to see Mode. Edna Mode. Me and her go way back." explained Nick.
The lioness shook her head. "Sorry, sir, but Mrs. Mode is not in right now. So you can..."
"You can get your lazy ass out of the security room and go do something active!." came a woman's voice, as she started hitting the lioness with a rolled up newspaper.
"Ow!. Mrs. Mode?!." The lioness pleaded but got hit again. "Ouch!."
Nick watches on in amusement as he has a good idea who is beating the young lioness with a rolled up newspaper. Now he is seeing this individual start spraying water on the lioness who started panicking.
"Go on get!. Get!." She pulled up a stool and sat up to have a good look at who was at her front gate. "Who are?. What do you want?. I am not buying."
Nick smiled at the all black dressed female koala wearing big round glasses and having a short haircut. "Edna. It is me, Nick."
He leaned out of the window so she can have a good look at him. Edan adjusted her glasses and nodded.
"My, My, My, you lost weight. That is a shocker. But anyways, come in darling!. Come in!." said Edna, opening her gates.
Nick happily rolled his window up and drove right on in to not only catch up with Edna but also ask a golden solid.
