After getting back to the temple via me cheating with making our cars fly with some special ramps that I formed from rock and sand, we then got inside of the place, but I found something interesting about my newly made ramps. They weren't disappearing after I stopped using the yellow eco! So, because of this, I then made up some other ramps to go back to the mainland afterwards, knowing it'd be highly unlikely that the marauders would know how to aim through every single ramp.
"Great, the cheater has cheated again," Errol smirked at me as we then got inside the temple and had to take care of some different Metal Heads, but the trio were surprised at how I was using my fists instead of my guns to take care of them.
"Why not use the new gun upgrades you've been getting?" Jak asked me.
"Downside of being a trainee in Light Eco Sagehood. For a full 24 hours since getting my newest ability, I must fight with only my fists, and only against non-sapient species. The marauders and Metal Heads don't count, as they aren't sentient like we are," I explained as we then got to the door that I went through the last time we were in here, where Jak then used his amulet on the newly-sealed door and we got through, getting past the now-flooded room without needing to collect the medals, where I gathered as much Blue Eco from the water as I could and placed it into some spare canisters in my bag. I managed to smuggle them with me when I'd been banished, thanks to some cloaking tech from Vin to hide them from Veger's eyes.
Regardless, we then got to the room with the giant Precursor idol, where I saw something nearby that I gawked at.
"Oh my! Look at this! A light eco fountain!" I smiled in excitedness, which Errol looked at it in surprise.
"My word... we should definitely stockpile on this stuff while we can. It's extremely rare to find Light Eco in the wild like this," Errol admitted, us then grabbing the Light Eco raw in some canisters as well as Jak managing to get some in his system to beat back some of his darkness, me smiling at him.
"So, Jak. Now that you have Light Eco in your system... would you like to try something out for me?" I asked him.
"What is it?" he asked. I simply responded by handing him one of my canisters of Blue Eco. And he smiled at it. "Guess it couldn't hurt to try," he smirked as I then handed him some Blue Eco... and color all of us shocked at how he managed to use the eco instantly in order to go to the Precursor Robot ahead of us and used, get this, a Blue Eco jump pad to jump the whole way across the bridge that Veger had destroyed earlier!
"He can use eco again! Perfect! With two eco-powered warriors, we can take back Haven in no time flat!" Errol laughed with a smile as we then got to the Precursor statue and he then spoke to us.
"You stand before us once again, young warriors, but your coming may sadly be too late... the dark ones have found your world, and plan to abolish every living thing on it... look into the light and gain what little powers we have to offer in this time of need," they said in their dark, deep voice, me then looking into the light and sighing at how I got the final Light Eco power, the Flight of Dreams. "As for your sagehood, young Sage of the Seven, you are doing very well. You only have 12 hours remaining before you will accomplish Sagehood of Light Eco... and with it, the knowledge of the 7th Eco Sagehood will be unveiled to you."
I smiled at this and nodded as I then flew across the gap... and be absolutely stunned at how Errol also jumped across... but for him, I was shocked at how he abosrbed some of my blue eco reserves and managed to use momentum to jump the whole way across for a long jump!
"WHOA! I... I didn't expect that I'd be able to do that, too!" Errol gawked after.
"You are quite welcome, Commander Errol," the Precursors said after, which Errol gasped at before then smiling.
"And to think, if things were different, you'd still be Baron's errand boy instead of being able to use Eco channeling," I smiled at him, Errol sighing and nodding, but with a small smile all the while.
"Indeed... I'm forever grateful that you were able to set me on the right path," he smiled, Daxter then gagging in annoyance.
"Get a room, would ya? We need to hurry to the city," Daxter pouted, us then nodding as we proceeded forward and across the next path with the Light Freeze challenges... and after going past the collapsing bridge with Blue Eco and Light Freeze, we then finally reached the Precursor Subrails, where I looked at the machines and smirked. There were three of them in total.
"The Precursors must've used these systems to go all over the place. I'm sure that this tunnel here could lead to Haven," I smiled as I pointed above and saw that, in Precursor Runes, it stated it'd lead to Sandover Jungle, which, from the books I read up on in the 200 years past, Sandover used to be a jungle before it got colonized and turned into a village. But then we heard the flapping of wings.
"Hah.. Hah... There you crazy people are!" Pecker said as he flew down and landed atop of the central car.
"Pecker! What are you doing here?" Daxter asked, their rivalry still being there, but not nearly as bad as in the actual games. More like a friendly rivalry instead of a toxic one.
"I've been getting some messages on the wind from Onin. She says that we need to head back to the city as fast as possible. Something deep within the catacombs awaits us, but in order to reach it, we need to take back a majority of the city to do so," Pecker smiled, us then using Jak's amulet to turn the vehicles on.
"Anyone up for a ride? I call the one on the right," Jak smirked.
"I call the middle," Errol smirked. And that made me frown, for one reason.
"So I get the dinky little one, huh? Well, beggars can't be choosers, I guess," I groaned as I hopped into the final cart with Daxter joining me in my backpack, as it was his favorite spot to hide from danger as opposed to the bulky and uncomfortable shoulders of myself or Jak. And then, came the difficult process of going through the Subrails.
...
Or so I thought. They were much easier than the game made them seem to be, with no holes in the ground and there being much less poles and chances for death. And in the end, we managed to make it to the end, where we were able to slow the cars down, but it was a very close call. If we were even a second slower with hitting the brakes, we'd be sent into the wall and very injured! All we managed to do was tap against the wall... and then?
"FLOOOOFFFPPPP!" All three of us got a giant airbag hit our face from the touch against the wall, which we then groaned after.
"The only thing I don't miss from my old life. Stupid airbags," I groaned with my face still in the bag as we then got off the car followed by Jak and Errol, where we were visited by the visage of a Precursor.
"You are making good progress, brave heroes. In order to succeed, you must fight your way through the city you call Haven and unite its people. And at the same time, you must find a way to complete an ancient artifact. Unfortunately, we know not of its location... but with these new strengths, you may be able to do so... look into the light and accept another gift," he said, us then doing so... and after, I felt as if I were... able to see all over the place? As if I could see from all over the place, everywhere, all at once!
"Whoa... Omnisience... is that a real Light Eco power?" I gawked.
"Indeed, it is... use it wisely, as it has unlimited use, but is difficult to control," the precursor said, me nodding as I then tried to look ahead... and saw it was, indeed, hard to use. I saw the minds of the hamstermice, the minds of numerous controlled Metal Heads, and, finally, Veger... then I tried to focus on Veger specifically and saw he was actually waiting for us in the mines that would lead to Haven. In the place where it would lead to the northernmost part of Haven. Specifically, right by the area as in the game, past the final forcefield that would only come down for the final missions.
"Augh... headache... guys, we're going to expect company up ahead in a set of abandoned Eco Mines," I said, them looking confused at that. "I saw that Veger's expecting our arrival. He's waiting by the only entrance to Haven, hidden behind a giant reinforced steel gate. There's only two ways we can get through. One, a whole supply of TNT to blow it open. Or two, we use our brute strength in Yellow Eco to pry open," I said, which the trio nodded at.
"He's gonna be sorry he ever messed with us!" Jak smirked widely with angry eyes, us heading up an elevator alongside Pecker. After getting up the elevator, we saw that we were in the mines, where I looked around with Errol and Jak.
"I remember this place! These are the abandoned Eco mines! It was said that Mar himself created these mines in order to get enough eco to build Haven City. But the eco dried up by the time of Baron's takeover," Errol explained.
"Yeesh! This Mar guy must've never slept much!" Daxter complained as Pecker then flew in the air.
"I'll go ahead to Haven from here and tell Onin that you're on your way. Watch your tail feathers, guys. This is a spoooooky place!" Pecker spoke, me then going through with the trio of men and getting us to the big metal gate that would lead to the city. I then proceeded to sense it and saw it had metal that I could bend. I proceeded to use yellow eco and forced the gate to expand and crinkle and crack until, eventually, a giant hole appeared in the center of the door big enough for us to enter.
"That eco elemental stuff is QUITE useful!" Jak smirked as we then went through and, after a bit, we then eventually reached the door that would lead to the city, where we saw that Veger was there and he seemed to be waiting for us.
"The monks told me that you'd be coming through the old Precursor Subrails. Interesting aren't they?" he asked, me frowning at him.
"Blow me a new asshole, Veger," I said, him looking at me in surprise and annoyance. "We overheard EVERYTHING and we recorded EVERYTHING. You're so drunk with power that you not only fiddled the votes to banish us AND my little kids and siblings, but you're also the one that destroyed the palace JUST to get access to the Catacombs!" I said, Veger growling at me. "Over 40 people died because of that! And hundreds more would've died had I not evacuated the crash site! You're WORSE than Praxis!" I shouted, him then growling at me.
"AND YOU'RE ALL FULL OF DARK ECO! You and your ilk are an abomination!" Veger growled at us, Errol frowning at him and aiming his pistol at Veger... but Veger then zapped the gun with the Precursor staff he had on hand... and we gawked at how he managed to put a big cork of metal on Errol's gun, which would make it impossible to fire!
"If you think that you're going to scare us into compliance, it won't work," Jak frowned as I spoke to Veger again.
"You've seen the massacre that the Metal Heads are causing in the city streets, Veger. The population of Haven is decreasing by the hour, and all because you want to be the hero. NEWSFLASH, MORON! If you would've kept us in the city, we'd have won the war in only 5 hours at the most!" I shouted, Veger growling at us angrily.
"ENOUGH! We'll start the cleansing of the world with YOUR demise!" he said as he then tried to use the Precursor staff, but I stopped him in his tracks by shooting a blast of yellow eco from my finger to the egg at the top, which demolished it in an instant! But in the process, it made a backfire effect that hit the robot above us, which made it come to life instantly! "And this time, the Precursors will NOT have mercy on you!" Veger growled as he escaped into the city ahead of us, leaving us to need to deal with the giant robot.
"Okay, we're in trouble!" Errol frowned as I used the last of my yellow eco power reserves to uncork his gun.
"Can't use anymore yellow juice until a recharge, so now we need to defeat it with guns instead," I said, everyone nodding as we had to dodge some attacks from the robot, including his laser swords until Daxter looked up.
"Hey! There's some carts full of dynamite above him!" Daxter smirked, us then proceeding to aim for them, with each of us aiming at a different one. Errol went for the one on the right, me on the left, and Jak aimed for the middle one. And after shooting for enough, we managed to send all three of them falling down at the same time and all of them falling onto the robot and, after a bit of waiting, they exploded along with the robot! And in the process, each of us got a gun upgrade from the robot's body!
"OH YEAH! The boys are back in town!" Daxter smirked widely as we then got our upgrades. Jak got the Arc Wielder, I got the Needle Laser, and Errol managed to get a Plasmite RPG (lucky ducky).
"Let's go topside and see what kind of trouble we can get into," Jak smirked, us then going across the gap in front of us with some air from me. And afterwards, we got on the elevator. And after going up it and into the city... the entire area we saw... it was a horror show.
"Oh... Oh god..." Errol gawked as we saw a scene of disgust. A slew of dead bodies from the citizens that were in the destroyed area of Maintown that was less damaged then the other parts of it. And they were being eaten by different Metal Heads. Some were avian, others were amphibian, and a couple were reptilian.
"That bastard's gonna pay, I'll make sure of it," I frowned as I then helped the others in taking out some of the Metal Heads, us slaying about 39 of them before the area had gotten cleared out temporarily and we then found the forcefield gate, us seeing at least five different people on the other side.
"Guys! You're back!" said the voice of Keira as she was on the other side alongside Samos, Taryn, and dad, me seeing he was in the new Freedom Fighter outfits of blue and he was holding a gun in hand and looking behind him every so often. And I knew why.
"We came back the moment we could. And it seems it's already been a bit too late," I frowned as I noted that, even in this area, there were at least five different bodies... and one of them was even a child.
"Veger's gone mad, I tell you! He's turned on the forcefields all over the place, effectively trapping everyone in different zones to try and contain the outbreak of Metal Heads and KG bots! But it doesn't matter for the flying enemies, of course!" Taryn growled in annoyance.
"Veger's also the one that attacked the palace, and all to get at the Catacombs! And we have evidence that he threw us all out of the city unfairly. Less than 1 percent of the city voted us out!" I frowned in annoyance.
"Well, you're just going to have to find out some way to stop him before he finds out what to do!" Samos said with seriousness.
"You'll need to go through the sewers and meet up at the Naughty Ottsel in the Port. You'll find Torn, Tess, and at least 2 different Metal Head Leaders there that are trying to help out," dad said. "I'm counting on you, guys. We can only do so much with the limited ammo and eco we have at the moment! DIE!" he shouted as he shot at a flying bot that appeared from behind him, me frowning at that.
"We'll stop them all, I promise," I said with seriousness as I then was ABOUT to follow the guys into the sewers before I saw... a different route. "Guys... This may sound crazy... but how about, instead of going through the sewers... we use THAT?" I asked as I pointed out that there was a ramp that would lead our quartet over the ruined palace's tower and it'd eventually lead us all the way through to the Port!
"You know what? I'm all for it," Errol smirked as we then got on our Jetboards and proceeded to jet over the ramp and onto the rooftops and rubble, us needing to shoot while riding to take out some flying Metal Heads and KG as we grinded and jumped all over the place. It took at least five minutes of this until, eventually, we reached the Port on the other side, us then going straight for the Naughty Ottsel, the pride and joy of the Port since Krew's passing.
And upon entry, I gawked at how different the interior was. "What. Happened. To our bar?" I asked in annoyance as Torn then looked at us.
"Jak? Errol, Dory, and Dax? I never expected to see you guys back here again," Torn smiled.
"Answer the question, Torn! What have you done to my place?!" Daxter asked in annoyance.
"We needed a southern HQ for the war effort. Plus, I kinda like the Ottsel sign on the front entrance."
"Why, thank you! Took at least 29 hours of labor in order to get all the details correct," I smiled at him.
"We use it for target practice," Torn said, me then zapping him with some blue eco from some water that was on my body, him being surprised at the shock to his finger, but he chuckled after as opposed to getting pissed. "Yep, should've expected that. Listen, I'm sorry we couldn't stop Count Veger. All of us are," Torn frowned.
"It's not your fault. The bastard fiddled with the votes to banish us unfairly," Errol frowned.
"Speaking of, Veger's making worse decisions by the day. He sent me and my platoon into a suicide mission into the Port. We managed to survive with most of our platoon intact, but then he cut us off with those damn forcefields, which Ashelin didn't even give him permission to do and only he knows the codes to turn them off!" Torn frowned, me nodding. Definitely sounded like Veger for sure.
"So let me guess. Only way to defeat those Forcefields at this point is to blow them to kingdom come, right?" I asked, Torn smirking at that.
"I thought you'd think something like that," Torn smirked.
"Never fear, for the Trouble Team is here!" Daxter smirked. And then an alarm happened on the hologram.
"Uh-oh! Speaking of trouble, we got incoming Blastbots from the War Factory. They're headed this way! Care to make some noise, perchance?" Torn asked.
"O-Okay, so I've got a little fear... but the others are here!" Dax said as he hid in my bag, me smirking at him as we then exited the bar and saw that the Blastbots were on their way from three different points.
"I'll handle the closest one. Jak, you get the one by the eastern tower. Errol, you're in charge of the western tower," I ordered, them nodding as we split up and I went right for the closest Blastbot and proceeded to shoot it with blue eco from the water nearby as it walked along, it then stopping and sending out some bombs from its body. After they landed on the ground, I picked them up and chucked them at the bot with enough force to make them blow up! After only four of these stupidly-placed bombs, the bot proceeded to enter its self-destruct phase! And since it was close to a building as of now, I used the power of Light Eco to from a barrier around the walls and around me, which caused the shrapnel to go backwards and towards, get this, five different Metal Heads that somehow joined the fray! And afterwards, they got killed and their blood was spilled all over!
"Whew! Sonars read no more Blastbots in the vicinity! Good work, guys! Come back to the Ottsel and we'll contact Ashelin," Torn said, us then doing so. Soon it'd be time for our first rush to save more of the city. And I had to hope that I could avoid having Daxter riding on a missile in the process. Because even in-game, it made no sense.
