Eve sat at the bar, listening in for Caroline and Matt's big breakup. Caroline had decided that she didn't want to hurt Matt and needed to break up with him. And to do that, she needed to come off as jealous and petty…And with Eve's help by compelling Aimee to talk to Matt and ask him about the 'animal attack', the scene was set up. Eve kept her back to them but listened in. Caroline was a born actor. Matt broke up with her and Caroline sat down. Eve turned and glanced back, trying not to be too obvious that she was watching, but Matt had already left. Caroline sat where Matt had been, looking defeated. Eve left her seat at the bar and walked over to the table, sitting next to Caroline, taking her hand and squeezing it gently. Caroline sighed, grabbing the napkin under the cup of coffee Matt was drinking and tapping under her eyes to keep herself from fully crying.
"When does it get easier?" Caroline asked, scooting her chair over to be next to Eve and laying her head on Eve's shoulder. Eve sighed.
"Think of it like a rollercoaster…you'll have your ups and downs, and like a rollercoaster, you accidentally kill a few people every few years." Eve shrugged gently. Caroline let out a soft laugh, sitting up and nudging Eve's shoulder. Eve smiled back at the sad teen. "Care, I'm not goin' to lie to you and say it's goin' to be easy right away." Eve began as gently as she could, gently rubbing Caroline's arm. "It'll get easier, but it's goin' to be a bitch until then." Eve continued as best she could. Caroline sniffled. "I mean, at least you didn't sleep with a werewolf that could have potentially killed you." Eve teased, brushing a hand through her hair, feeling a stray stick from the previous night still stuck in there. Caroline snickered.
"Yeah, that's true…" Caroline said with a little nod. "I wish you would come back to my house so we could talk about everything more…" Caroline complained lightly, pushing the coffee on the table further away from her.
"I know…but I would like to change clothes. I've started repeatin' outfits and I've lived too long to let that happen." Eve said, flicking the stick behind her and whipping her hair back dramatically. "Plus, Damon's still gone, so…" Eve shrugged. Caroline shook her head.
"Are you going to tell him what happened?" Caroline asked, not as enthusiastic as she once was. Eve thought for a moment before shaking her head.
"I don't think so…at least not fer right now." Eve said, only having contemplated it for a moment. "I feel like he'd go off and rip out Mason's heart." Eve chuckled, despite knowing that's what he would do. With how he sneered out 'surfer boy' the previous night, Eve knew Damon was waiting for a perfect moment, and reason, to kill him. "I also want to talk with Mason…See if he remembers anythin'…" Eve said, perking Caroline up a little.
"I don't think that's the smartest idea." Caroline chastised, looking worriedly at Eve. Eve rolled her eyes.
"I have to know. I can't just stop talkin' to him because he nearly killed me." Eve stated stubbornly. Caroline rolled her eyes, pulling out her phone. Eve looked at Caroline's phone and saw a missed call from Liz. "But first, we need to get some sleep." Eve said, standing up and holding her arm out for Caroline. "We had an eventful night, and you need some relaxation before you have to go to school tomorrow." Eve teased as Caroline got up, looping her arm with Eve's.
"Ugh, can't I be too sad to go to school?" Caroline whined as the two walked out of the Grill together. Eve shook her head.
"I'm not your mom, but I can already hear her tellin' you to get up, and that school's important." Eve teased, truly seeing an image of Liz in her head scolding Caroline. Caroline huffed.
"Is school even important as a vampire?" Caroline asked in a whiny voice. Eve stopped in her tracks, forcing Caroline to do the same. Eve stood up on her tiptoes and placed the back of her hand against Caroline's forehead.
"Caroline, I think you may be sick." Eve stated seriously, pulling her hand away and shaking it like it had burned her. Caroline rolled her eyes before folding her arms.
"Ha ha, I get it." Caroline mocked. "I'm so neurotic that it's impossible to think that I would stop caring about school." Caroline snarked back. "But, like, I'm sad." Caroline whined. Eve chuckled, looping her arm with Caroline's once more and walking her to her car.
"Just get some rest, Caroline. You'll feel better in the afternoon." Eve tried to reassure her as Caroline unlocked her car and got into the driver's side. "Stefan dropped off somethin' special. He said it's under your bed." Eve said before Caroline closed her door.
"Is it bunnies?" Caroline asked with a little scowl on her face. Eve laughed.
"Bunnies or squirrels; I don't know Carebear, I don't do the whole 'huntin'' thing." Eve shrugged. "Well…at least when it comes to cute little forest creatures." Eve winked playfully as Caroline rolled her eyes and closed her door. Eve laughed before waving Caroline off as she turned and walked over to her own car.
Eve got into her car and sighed. Eve was tired. She hadn't died from Mason's hickies, nor did she die from him biting her finger. Eve assumed it had to break skin…and also while he was an actual wolf. If Mason did remember the previous night, Eve wanted to have a word with him. First, how dare he try to kill her. Second, what the fuck. Eve sighed as she began driving to the boarding house.
It had been a little while since she had been to the boarding house. She had been staying with the Forbes', which she didn't mind, but she did miss her own bed. As Eve drove up to the boarding house, she parked and walked inside with her duffle bag. Eve could hear a soft breathing when she listened to the sounds of the house. There were two sets of breaths, but they both seemed to be coming from Stefan's room…Which meant that Elena was here…unless Damon and Stefan suddenly had a strange new brotherly relationship. Eve snickered to herself. She couldn't hear any more breathing patterns, which meant it was only Stefan and Elena in the house. Good. Eve wasn't avoiding Damon…she would just rather not see him or have him see her.. She didn't want to be the one to explain the previous night's events. Eve went up to her room, opening her door and throwing her duffle bag on the bed. To Eve's surprise, her bed was made. Eve raised an eyebrow, seeing a small note on the bed. Eve walked over to it, picking it up and looking at it curiously before opening it.
Thought you could use some clean sheets. My debt is repaid - Stefan
Eve snickered at the note, placing it on her bedside table. She desperately wanted to toss herself onto the bed, but she was dirty and gross from the previous night. Eve walked over to her dresser and pulled out some pajamas before heading into her bathroom to take a shower. Once Eve finished and was dressed, Eve looked at her phone.
Mason. Eve looked at the notification name for a moment before opening it.
Mason: An old classmate is having a BBQ, want to be my +1?
Eve felt the urge to smile. It was such a simple request. Plus, Mason had likely tried to kill her the previous night…but Eve couldn't help it…it felt nice to be wanted…
Eve: Time and place and I'll see you there
Eve text back, placing her phone on her charger before finally tossing herself onto her bed. No dust came up this time. Eve breathed in the smell. It wasn't strong, so Stefan must have washed and made her bed a few days ago…
Mason: Here's the address. I'm trying to be impressive, so if you wanted to look extra delicious, I wouldn't mind looking at you the whole time ;)
Eve snickered softly, placing her phone down without looking at the address. She needed some sleep and she was going to get what little sleep she could before going to a barbeque.
Damon had been scheming. Using his manipulative nature to his advantage. Elena would be so judgmental if she learned that Jenna's barbeque was actually his idea to get closer to Mason Lockwood. At least that way, it would force Mason to be nice to him. After what happened at the Lockwood's with that little stupid surfer boy, Damon could use the win in his own books without Carol Lockwood coming to his rescue…Well, it was someone's rescue. Either Damon's because Mason was being rude the day after his dead brother's wake…or Mason's since Damon would have absolutely killed him given the chance.
Damon was waiting outside of a bakery. Elena had recommended the place some time back…Well, she had recommended it, but it wasn't to him. She wouldn't have recommended the place if she knew he was going to compel the baker to make him a pie so he could pretend to the humans that he was a kind and gracious guest. Jenna had calmed down slightly with him being around…Unfortunately, that was also because Eve had come to town and Damon couldn't help but be calm and happy when she was around. Damon wondered if Eve would go to the barbeque…Worse yet, Damon thought about her going to the barbeque with that Lockwood loser…
"Damon?" Damon turned from his spot where he had been waiting to see Elena walking towards him with a book in her hand. Damon smirked back at her and waved. "What are you doing?" Elena asked, already suspicious of his activities.
"What? Can't a guy stand outside of a bakery on a Sunday morning?" Damon sassed back at her, gesturing towards the bakery behind him. Elena stopped walking when she got closer, only to fold her arms and raise an eyebrow at him.
"Not when you're that guy." Elena muttered back, looking back at the bakery suspiciously. Damon put a hand to his chest, mocking offense.
"If you must know, Miss Nosey," Damon muttered, tapping Elena on her nose, relishing in the look of irritation that passed over her features at the action. "I'm getting a pie for Jenna's barbeque." Damon stated, folding his own arms.
"How did you know about Jenna's barbeque?" Elena asked. Damon could almost taste a time where she would have been angry at the notion. Now, she was simply annoyed. Damon smirked back at her.
"It was my idea." Damon said with a smile, leading Elena to look at him with her confused look. "Jenna went to high school with Mason Lockwood, so I figured a social gathering would be a good way to get to know the guy." Damon explained his plan. "So I told Ric to tell Jenna." Damon shrugged casually, knowing he was a genius.
"Didn't you already burn down any bridge to get to know him better?" Elena asked. Damon now raised an eyebrow back at her. "Stefan told me that something happened between the two when you went to talk with Carol Lockwood." Elena explained. Damon couldn't help the scowl. Of course Stefan would tell her.
"I may just need to remind Stefan of a little thing called 'brotherly secrets'." Damon growled back irritably. Elena couldn't help but chuckle back.
"You know Stefan and I are dating, right?" Elena asked with a small shake of her head and a smile.
"I've heard." Damon grumbled back, leaning against the bakery's window.
"So he's going to tell me everything." Elena shrugged. "Well, he has since we talked about being open and communicating with one another." Elena continued, already seeing Damon's brain spinning up a snarky response. Damon let out a groan. "Does Jenna know that you're going to be there?" Elena asked, changing the subject. "Because she's not exactly a fan of yours." Elena muttered. Damon rolled his eyes.
"She doesn't mind me as much." Damon shrugged, but Elena shook her head.
"She still doesn't like you, Damon." Elena chastised. "She still thinks you kissed me that night when Katherine kissed you." Elena muttered, looking embarrassed. Damon let himself think for a moment…Damon could have sworn Jenna was more mellow with him than she had been…
"Wait, you still haven't told her what happened?" Damon asked, a stupid little pang of hope entered his heart. No. He needed to stop that before it grew. He couldn't continue to make himself poison…
"I haven't told Jenna about any of…all this." Elena muttered, gesturing around, looking guilty.
"Well, yeah, but I mean that I wasn't the one to initiate it?" Damon asked, folding his arms. Elena rolled her eyes.
"And have her think that I'd ever cheat on Stefan? No less, for you? No way." Elena said, shaking her head roughly. Damon let out a scoff.
"Ouch." Damon muttered, as a woman came out and handed him a pie. "Perfect, thank you." Damon thanked the compelled woman who only nodded and went back into the bakery. "Well, aside from that harsh reply, I'm hoping this peach cobbler will pave the way back into Jenna's good graces." Damon explained, gesturing towards the pie. Elena rolled her eyes, looking at him suspiciously.
"What are you up to?" Elena asked seriously. Damon rolled his eyes back at her.
"What, can't a guy do something nice for a barbeque like bring a pie?" Damon snarked, already walking away from her. Elena caught his arm.
"Damon." Elena muttered, forcing him to stop. Damon sighed out a long and loud sigh.
"I'm gonna put some silver into Mason Lockwood and prove that he's a werewolf." Damon explained back quickly, pulling his arm from her grasp. "See you at the barbeque." Damon muttered, walking away from her. She didn't try to stop him.
Stefan knew it wasn't safe in the house with Katherine and Eve. Eve would surely snap and try to kill Katherine if she knew she was in the house, and Katherine would surely kill Eve for trying. Stefan needed a plan…and maybe the best plan he could come up with was texting Eve and praying that when she saw the text that she would decide not to do something stupid. Stefan took a deep breath.
Stefan: Katherine is in the boarding house. I've got a plan…But that plan involves you cooperating fully and not just going off the rails to try and stab her.
Stefan finished getting dressed, checking his phone every minute, waiting for Eve's text. Stefan also kept his ears open, listening to any little creek of the house, wondering if it was Eve's…or Katherine's. Stefan finally finished with his hair when his phone chimed.
Eve: What do you want me to do…and can I be dramatic?
Stefan shook his head, keeping himself from laughing out loud, in case Katherine was also listening in. Stefan sent Eve a quick rundown, as well as the reason that Katherine couldn't just be killed right off the bat…and Eve sent a single 'okay'. It was time for a show. If Katherine wanted to root around in his mind and control his dreams, Stefan could play mind games with her too…
Eve had been nearly ready when she had gotten the text from Stefan. So many emotions flooded through her, but the main emotion that she kept landing on was rage. There Eve was with an off-the-shoulder, pink ruffled top with an off-white skirt with matching flowers, half of her hair in a bun with nice makeup and cute shoes now being told that Katherine Piece was in the same building as she was. How was she supposed to keep her nice outfit clean from the blood she wanted to spill. If Eve had it her way, she would tear Katherine limb from limb before staking her and cutting her head off. And that was a simple version of what she wanted to do. However, Stefan said no.
So now Eve waited patiently. Eve moved around slowly, listening to Stefan and Katherine's conversation with little interest as Eve lingered in the basement. Blah blah blah, Katherine reading Stefan's diary, blah blah blah talking about their past. Stefan had helped Eve get down to the basement by picking her up and flittering her there. She was supposed to wait patiently until Stefan had the perfect opportunity to drag the bitch down and put her in the cell in the basement. So Eve waited…
She wanted Katherine dead. Fully dead. She wanted to see the bitch in person before she drove a stake through her heart. For all the hurt she caused for centuries to Damon. Eve bit her tongue to keep herself from flittering up and decapitating the bitch herself. Stefan had a plan. Stefan was getting information. And from the sounds of it, he was doing a good job in manipulating her. She had apparently come back to see him. Eve rolled her eyes…and thought about Damon.
Damon mentioned talking with Elena. Damon mentioned talking with Katherine. Damon said he had 'found his truth's, which meant that he had spoken to both Elena and Katherine. Eve wanted to believe it. It took everything in her soul to keep herself from hugging the stupid man the other night at the carnival. Eve had been growing her resistance to vervain for years in retaliation to Alistair, but she had been trying to up the amount that she ingested ever since she was spiked by Isobel in the bar. In that same logic, Eve was trying to build up her resistance to Damon. He couldn't just keep breaking her heart and come back to Eve with open arms…
True, Damon nor Eve had ever really talked about any of their feelings for the other. Besides the few times they were drunk and meeting up, and even then, it was only ever a bunch of flirting and longing glances. Minus the time in New York. Both of them were drunk and Eve kissed him and then proceeded to get completely cockblocked by Alistair's stupid goonies, kidnapping her at the worst possible moment. The wake was the first time they even really acknowledged the other was…the other cared about one another in a far more complicated manner than 'just friends'. Eve kept the sigh from escaping her lips. She should kill Katherine.
Apparently, Katherine knew about werewolves too. And that the Lockwood's had been werewolves even back when she was in Mystic Falls, making the two Salvatore's fall in love with her, both willingly and unwillingly. Even now, Eve could hear Katherine desperately flirting with Stefan. And then, a groan. Eve waited patiently. Soon, Stefan flittered to the basement and into the cell with Katherine having been hit with a vervain dart.
"Hurry." Stefan stated aloud, letting Eve quickly walk over to him as Katherine was placed onto the chair with chains. Eve quickly helped Stefan chain up Katherine as she looked around, dazed and obviously upset about having been tricked. Finally, with Katherine chained down, Stefan grabbed hold of Eve's wrist and forced her back. "Wait." Stefan said softly to Eve before turning back to Katherine. "Now, where were we?" Stefan asked as Katherine seemed to slowly come out of her vervain daze. "That's right; you were going to tell me why you came back to Mystic Falls, weren't you." Stefan said, folding his arms. Katherine squirmed against her ropes, looking at Stefan with a sad look, only vaguely looking towards Eve.
"You don't have to do this." Katherine begged, pulling on her ropes.
"Answer the question." Stefan snapped impatiently.
"I came back for you." Katherine muttered with a cry in her throat. Stefan rolled his eyes before looking at Eve. Eve couldn't even help how quickly she smiled and walked over to the vervain that was growing on the other side of the cell.
"We're going to play by my rules now." Stefan snapped as Eve picked up the vervain with a glove on and walked over to Stefan, looking at him nearly begging him to tell her to hurt Katherine. Stefan looked over at her and only nodded once. Eve gladly walked and pressed the vervain plant against Katherine's skin, watching it burn her and Katherine scream in pain. Stefan pulled Eve back and the joy vanished as soon as Katherine wasn't screaming. Eve nearly puffed back at Stefan as he got closer to her and grabbed her face. "Answer the question." Stefan growled.
"So what, you're going to torture me now with this little play toy?" Katherine snarled back out, looking back to Eve. Eve smiled and wiggled her fingers in greeting.
"Eve. Nice to meet you. After all these years." Eve smiled, already walking over to her again. Stefan didn't stop her and Eve pressed the vervain to Katherine's other cheek, harder this time. The sounds of Katherine's screams of pain were far better than Eve had ever imagined. Stefan pulled Eve back again.
"I thought you were just Damon's little plaything. I didn't realize you were batting for both teams still." Katherine spit back venomously. Eve paused for a moment. Eve couldn't help the smile that spread across her face.
"Aw. You've been keepin' track of me?" Eve asked, putting her hand to her chest to feign a happy surprise. "That's very nice of ya, Kathy, but I have to say, I'm not as interested in you as you are in me." Eve snarked back with a bat of her eyelashes. Katherine glared back at her.
"I thought sass was more of Damon's thing; unless you're playing both teams as well, with Elena and this." Katherine muttered, chuckling and looking at Stefan. Stefan rolled his eyes.
"Listen, I'll do whatever it takes to get you to tell me the truth about why you're here." Stefan stated seriously, folding his arms. Eve felt a buzz in her pocket, placing the vervain down and looking at her phone.
Mason: I'll be there in about 20 minutes. Depending on what you look like, we'll see how long we stay ;)
Eve sighed. As much fun as she was having, she and Stefan had an agreement. That Eve would go to the barbeque, let Elena (and Damon) know what was going on discreetly and have Stefan stay with Katherine. Eve knew it was for the best since she wouldn't be asking Katherine any questions. She would cut her tongue out of her mouth before she could say anything.
"I've got to get goin'." Eve muttered, taking her gloves off and handing them to Stefan as he pulled up a chair in front of Katherine. "Leave the cruel and unusual punishments fer me." Eve said with a smile towards Stefan before sending Katherine the same smile, her eyes narrowed as she looked at the dumb doppelganger before turning to leave.
"Aren't you worried?" Katherine asked as Eve left the cell, forcing her to stop. Eve turned around, her hands already on her hips to prepare herself for whatever bullshit Katherine was about to spew. "I'm surprised Alistair hasn't come by to say hello yet." Katherine said with a slow smirk. Eve felt her heart stop for a moment, trying her best to keep the color from draining from her face. Eve saw Stefan let out a huff before he put the gloves on, walking over and forcing Katherine's mouth to open before placing the piece of vervain into her mouth. Katherine's screams were muffled as Stefan forced her mouth shut and pulled the stem from Katherine's mouth, leaving the main petals and bits of the vervain in Katherine's mouth. Eve didn't enjoy the muffled scream as much as the audible one.
"Go. I've still got a few questions I want answered." Stefan muttered, waving Eve off, not letting Katherine speak and only muffle a scream. Eve flittered out of the boarding house, needing air. Eve's kill list had changed priorities…and for once, Alistair wasn't number one…
Eve stood by her car, taking in a deep breath as she saw Mason quickly approaching her with a large smile. She needed to calm her beating heart. She was nervous. She was nervous about Katherine. She was nervous about being near Mason. She was nervous about seeing Damon, especially with Mason. Mason smiled and kissed her cheek, pulling her out of her worried mine.
"Well hello gorgeous." Mason said with a smile, grabbing hold of Eve's hand and twirling her around, whistling at her as he did so. "I hope this place ends up being a dud, because I would happily turn around and take you home with that outfit, baby girl." Mason purred, pulling Eve into him. Eve's cheeks burned as she shook her head. "We still have yet to talk about that little comment you made the other day." Mason said, switching the bag he had in his hands to the other and holding Eve's before walking up to the Gilbert's house. Eve only hummed, feigning ignorance at his comment as they came to the front door. Mason knocked and after a minute, Jeremy came and opened the door.
"Hi, I hear there's a barbeque going on here." Mason said with a smile. Jeremy raised an eyebrow, obviously already over the whole party. Jeremy looked down at Eve and Eve nearly hit him due to the confused look he shot her.
"We're not here to break up any drinkin' this time." Eve said with a wink, hoping Jeremy didn't bring up what happened at the parade…where he said that Damon was Eve's boyfriend…Jeremy let out a small chuckle, moving out of the way.
"Actually planning on drinking ourselves today." Mason said with a smile, waving the bag he had in his hand as the two walked into the house. Jeremy watched Eve intently as she walked in without any problems.
"Except that's still not fer babies." Eve chastised Mason and gave Jeremy a cross look. Jeremy stared back at her, obviously irritated that Eve was allowed into his home at some point.
"Where's your aunt?" Mason asked, looking at the interior of the house for a moment before looking back to Jeremy.
"She's in the kitchen." Jeremy muttered, pointing to where the kitchen was before turning to go back upstairs.
"Not joinin' in on the activities?" Eve asked playfully towards Jeremy, still messing with the obviously moody teen.
"And see a bunch of adults get wasted on cheap liquor? No thanks." Jeremy snarked back, continuing his ascent up the stairs.
"This isn't the cheap stuff; you should know, you're the one who had some the other night." Mason snarked back, making Jeremy continue quicker up the stairs, sending a sharp glare back at Mason before disappearing. Eve let out a snort.
"Do you always terrorize teenagers or is this just a fun habit of yours?" Eve asked playfully as the two walked towards the kitchen. Mason chuckled back.
"It seems to be a new habit I've picked up since coming back to Mystic Falls." Mason chuckled, grabbing the bottle from the paper bag he brought and handing it to Eve before grabbing a few shot glasses out of the bag. Mason placed the bag down on a table next to some keys before opening the door to the kitchen. "Good news! I found the shot glasses!" Mason announced as he walked into the kitchen. Jenna and Elena were talking by the counter filled with food.
"And that would be my exit." Eve heard Elena mutter as she walked around Mason as he walked over to Jenna. Elena looked at Eve before looking down at her phone and tapping it. Eve would have to give it a minute before she could see her phone and what Elena needed… Probably Stefan-related. Jenna gave Mason a side hug and laughed.
"You're here for less than a minute and I'm already back under the bleachers at the pep rally." Jenna joked, nudging Mason as he looked back at Eve. Eve walked over to him and placed the bourbon on the counter.
"Like old times, huh? Only I didn't swipe this bottle from my old man." Mason snickered as Jenna looked at the bottle quizzically. Eve felt a strange feeling in her chest at the whole…normality of the interaction. Alaric soon walked into the kitchen from the backyard.
"Oooh, the expensive stuff!" Alaric said with a smile as he noticed the alcohol, only glancing at Eve with a worried expression that Eve was grateful Mason didn't see. "I like you already." Alaric said, quickly changing his expression to a smile as he looked and saw Mason pouring shots.
"Just happy to be invited." Mason said, smiling over at Eve as she walked over to him and stood by him.
"Thank Ric for that, it was his idea." Jenna said with a smile, looking over at Alaric.
"Really?" Mason asked, slightly tensing up at the realization. Eve looked over at Alaric who caught Eve's nervous glance.
"Yeah, you know, I thought it would be nice to meet some of Jenna's high school friends." Alaric said, quickly coming up with a lie. "You know, dig up some dirt." Alaric shrugged. Mason looked at Jenna who was smiling as well before Mason finally relaxed, his arm wrapping around Eve's waist.
"Oh I've got dirt-I've got dirt." Mason chuckled, pouring another glass for Alaric, which was only a little difficult since he now seemed to have a tight grip on Eve's hip.
"I have no secrets." Jenna stated seriously as Mason handed the shots to both Jenna and Alaric before smiling and winking down as he gave a shot to Eve. "Only dirty shame." Jenna continued, raising her shot glass up.
"To dirty shame." Alaric chuckled, raising his own glass to Jenna's. Mason smiled and looked down at Eve as Mason raised his own glass, nudging Eve to do the same. Eve gave a playfully reluctant smile, raising her own glass, clinking it with the other's, drinking the shot. One shot wasn't going to turn her into who she was in the 60's.
"Hey." Eve nearly choked. Damon. Luckily Eve didn't choke, but only turned slightly to see him walk in with a pie box.
"Damon." Jenna stated, her joyous attitude quickly changing, despite the little gesture he made at the pie. Mason tensed up and turned after finishing his own shot, keeping Eve tightly next to him. Eve's heart fluttered anxiously as Damon looked at Jenna before his eyes looked over to Mason before landing on Eve. Eve ignored how the world felt so much smaller when she looked at him.
"We were just doing shots." Alaric said, forcing them both to break their eye contact. "Let me give you a shot glass, buddy." Alaric said, turning and beginning to look for a shot glass. Eve couldn't help but smile at the word 'buddy'. Eve nearly let the sarcastic 'aw' slip, but bit her tongue before letting out a small cough.
"Here." Jenna muttered, taking her shot. "Use mine." Jenna muttered, walking past him and handing her shot glass over to him. Only Mason smirked down at her, having heard the cough.
"You alright, baby girl?" Mason asked softly, gently nudging Eve's shoulder. Eve nodded, smiling back at him, noticing Alaric follow after Jenna.
"She doesn't like me very much…" Damon muttered, walking up to the counter and handing Mason the shot glass.
"We haven't met." Mason said, placing the shot glass down. Eve saw Damon's brows fly up in surprise. "Mason Lockwood." Mason said politely, reaching out to shake Damon's hand. Eve kept herself from laughing. It always surprised Damon when people were nice to him.
"Oh sure." Damon said, quickly putting his own charm on. "Damon Salvatore." Damon introduced himself and shook Mason's hand. Eve watched the strength that each put into their handshakes.
"I know." Mason replied, to Eve's surprise. "I've heard great things about you." Mason said with a smile that Eve noticed didn't reach his eyes…
"Really?" Damon asked, genuinely curious as Mason turned and poured him a shot. "That's weird 'cause I'm a dick." Damon explained, looking over at Eve. "Unless my-um-Evie here must have said nice things about me." Damon said, tripping over his words but quickly recovering, despite the cautious glance. Mason's brows furrowed as well as he handed the shot over to Damon.
"Carol, actually." Mason corrected, glancing down at Eve. Eve felt her chest tighten uncomfortably. She had made so many jokes about Twilight but if Mason Lockwood was actually a werewolf, Eve was now living her worst nightmare; being in a love-triangle between a vampire and a werewolf. Was this penance? Eve wasn't in love with Mason Lockwood though. Fuck. She really was living her worst nightmare. "You had your brother come up and arm wrestle me at the carnival." Mason said, shaking his finger at Damon, remembering the carnival. Damon chuckled.
"Guilty." Damon shrugged with a smirk, drinking the shot.
"And then afterward, I took Evie on." Mason said with his own smile. Eve tensed at the nickname, seeing Mason's smile not reach his eyes for the second time as he looked at Damon. Damon put down his shot glass, shining his own smile back at Mason, with a far less subtle glare. "You two must have met previously though, seeing as you call her Evie too." Mason said with a smug smile, this one meeting his eyes as he pulled Eve closer to his side. Eve felt the tightness in her chest begin to squeeze again.
"Oh, Evie hasn't told you about me?" Damon asked, his glare lessening as a genuine curiosity took over as he cocked his head slightly. Mason looked down at Eve and shook his head.
"Mmm, not that I can think of." Mason shrugged, smiling down at Eve. "She's mentioned 'Caroline', and Liz Forbes, which is subsequently Caroline's mom." Mason said, remembering the few people Eve had told him about. "And some old friend who broke her heart, but she never said who that was." Mason said with a small chuckle, feeling Eve tense up at that comment. It was true. She hadn't told Mason about Damon by name, or anything in detail…She didn't want to think about Damon when she was with Mason…And it was becoming more and more difficult for Eve to avoid having the two together in the same room. Especially with the whole 'the Lockwood's might be werewolves' discussion that Eve had been avoiding having with Damon. "Unless…you're that friend who broke her heart." Mason said, pointing at Damon before looking down at Eve, seemingly not caring that Eve was getting uncomfortable. Eve looked at Damon, seeing his jaw clench.
"No." Eve stated sternly, finally speaking up in the conversation. "Damon and I are friends, but much like Stefan, who is Damon's brother, we are just friends." Eve reiterated, directing each word harshly towards Mason, irritated with how both of them were acting, but more irritated with Mason because of how accusatory he was acting. "No heartbreak here. What about you, Day?" Eve asked, folding her arms and taking a step from Mason, ignoring the grip on her, looking over at Damon. Damon's once mixed curious and irritated expressions were suddenly overshadowed by the beam of his smile.
"Well, one, but you helped me through that, and continue to help me through it, Evie." Damon nearly radiated with his smile. Eve couldn't help but feel her own mood shifting dramatically…Fuck she missed Damon…Eve could practically feel the two wanting to step closer to the other, but both froze, seemingly remembering the past few weeks and being forced back into reality.
"Eve?" Caroline's voice pulled all three people over to her as she entered the kitchen. Eve felt relieved to have a way to get away from the two men, but seeing Caroline's features start with a worried expression that led to a forced happy one made Eve nervous.
"Hey Caroline!" Eve chirped happily, patting Mason's hand to indicate that she wanted him to let her go…But he didn't let her go. Eve looked back over at him hesitantly. "Mason, this is Caroline, Liz's daughter." Eve smiled back at him hesitantly, unsure of why he was acting so…
"Hi." Caroline said, folding her arms and looking Mason up and down. "I'm going to borrow my best friend for a minute. Important girlfriend things." Caroline muttered, walking over and wrapping her arm with Eve's, pulling Eve away from Mason with little force. "I'll give her back eventually." Caroline said with a sharp smile before frowning and turning and pulling Eve out of the kitchen and into the dining room.
"Any reason you stole me away from-"
"What are you doing here?" Caroline asked quickly as the two entered into the living room without Eve getting out her own question. Eve raised an eyebrow back at her.
"Am…Am I not supposed to be here?" Eve laughed out, confused by the question. Caroline shook her head, looking away, worried. "Care, what's goin' on?" Eve asked, gently touching Caroline's shoulder. Caroline backed away from her touch. "Caroline, what's wrong?" Eve asked, now losing all playful tones. Caroline never turned away physical touch. "What happened?" Eve asked, gently grabbing Caroline's hand to try and calm her down. Caroline froze and looked at Eve, her eyes scared.
"Food's ready." Alaric said, poking his head out into the living room. Caroline's worried and terrified expression died as she put on a smile.
"Thank God, I'm starving!" Caroline announced happily, walking over to the open door that Alaric held open. Eve let out a small huff, following behind Caroline before Alaric raised an eyebrow at her. Eve shook her head swiftly.
Stefan was getting tired of the whole ordeal…Katherine was someone from his past that he had wanted to keep in his past. This was ironic coming from him, since he showed up in Mystic Falls because of her doppelganger. Stefan was better off not knowing Katherine was alive. Maybe Lexi would have been alive…
"I think you should kill Damon's little play toy." Katherine muttered, making Stefan roll his eyes and sit back in his chair. "I mean, Damon killed your best friend, it would only make sense for you to return the favor." Katherine shrugged, the best she could considering the chains. Stefan laughed.
"You really don't like Eve, huh?" Stefan chuckled, folding his arms. Katherine rolled her eyes back at him. "You won't even say her name, let alone acknowledge that she's not just a play toy for Damon." Stefan continued to taunt, but Katherine scoffed at the statement.
"She is just a play toy for Damon." Katherine groaned with a roll of her eyes. "You can't really think that some little Irish girl could ever replace me, do you?" Katherine laughed out bitterly. Stefan raised an eyebrow back at her, relishing in his own torment of the woman.
"Actually," Stefan muttered, shaking his head. "I think that's exactly why you despise her." Stefan chuckled. "It kills you that someone else could possibly care about Damon. And that Damon could care about someone else besides you." Stefan smiled, watching Katherine already trying to come up with something to say. "And you know what, even if I had loved you, all those years ago, you still compelled me to love you." Stefan continued, going back to their previous conversation. The two had been talking about when Katherine had first came to Mystic Falls and were basically going down memory lane. Katherine seemed to enjoy it far more than Stefan did.
"I only compelled you after I showed you who I really was." Katherine muttered, rolling her eyes. "You were scared of me, so I took away your fear." Katherine shrugged.
"Well, whatever feelings I had back then, I don't have them now. They all turned to hate." Stefan shrugged. "Get back to the Lockwood's." Stefan muttered. Katherine sighed and rolled her eyes.
"Love and hate are a fine line to walk, Stefan." Katherine tried with a light hearted voice, but Stefan shook his head, waiting for her to continue. "George Lockwood was causing problems and used the vampires to cover up his own tracks. He told the founding families about vampires, so we struck a deal." Katherine explained. Stefan gestured for Katherine to continue. "Patience Stefan, storytelling is a delicate art." Katherine purred, but Stefan rolled his eyes.
"Yeah, and so is leaving you to rot." Stefan shrugged back casually. Katherine's smile dropped before she scowled. It was going to be a long day.
Eve was getting bored of the whole barbeque situation. Caroline was stressed about something that she wasn't talking about. Mason and Damon were getting all huffy and puffy with each other. Jenna was getting drunk. Eve was joining her with as much alcohol as she was consuming. Damon wasn't helping with the situation at all. He was definitely plying Jenna with alcohol to get her drunk, most likely to make her like him more…And whenever he offered anything to drink, Eve wasn't going to say no. Damon wasn't an ex by any means…and yet. Elena had finally pulled Eve to the side. Eve didn't mind. They were all playing Pictionary and Eve still loved Damon. Eve shook her head at the stupid thought as Elena led her to the kitchen.
"Do you know where Stefan is?" Elena asked, obviously worried about him as the door had barely closed behind the two. Eve had forgotten to check her phone, like Elena had indicated earlier for her to do.
"Oh shit, sorry." Eve apologized, casually eating a potato chip. "Stefan took Katherine captive in the basement and is forcin' her to tell him why she's here." Eve explained with a casual shrug. Elena gasped, putting her hands up to her mouth quickly. Eve nearly snorted at the reaction. It was valid, and yet so silly.
"Why didn't you tell me that earlier?!" Elena snapped, trying to keep her voice down, pulling her phone out again and calling Stefan. Eve rolled her eyes.
"Because Stefan's a big boy. He can take care of himself." Eve shrugged as she continued eating the chips that were out. She didn't mean to be so rude…but the alcohol was getting to her a little. She hadn't drank so much in…a while. And it showed. "He's in love with you, Elena, he's not goin' to do anythin' with Katherine." Eve rolled her eyes, swatting at Elena. Elena rolled her eyes as Eve heard Stefan's voicemail. Elena huffed out, putting her phone in her pocket.
"That's not the point." Elena grumbled, touching her temples in irritation. "I need to go there." Elena stated sternly. Caroline walked into the kitchen almost a second after Elena finished talking.
"Hey, I seem to have missed the gal-pal sesh." Caroline said cheerfully. Eve could tell by the tone that Caroline was forcing the cheeriness. "What's-"
"I need to go to Stefan's." Elena stated, already walking over towards where she kept her keys. Eve watched Caroline's face drop as she quickly walked over towards Elena.
"It's late, let me-" Caroline got out, but Eve grabbed her arm, forcing her to stop.
"What happened, Caroline?" Eve asked flatly. Caroline paused, looking at Elena, who also stopped, before looking back at Eve cautiously. There was something going on and even Elena could see that. Elena folded her arms, waiting for the explanation as well.
"I…Nothing." Caroline muttered, pulling away from Eve. "I just want to make sure Elena gets there safely. That's all." Caroline shrugged, walking over towards Elena. Elena looked back over at Eve with a worried look. Eve let out a sharp huff before shaking her head. She would text Elena…As long as she remembered too, that was. The more she stood up, the more she could feel the alcohol burning in her system. She also hadn't drank any blood in a good while too. Which made sense with how drunk she felt.
"Can you tell Jenna that I'm going over to Stefan's?" Elena asked, already opening the back door. Eve nodded, waving her off and leaning on the counter, watching Caroline follow after her, looking guilty as ever. Something was up, but Eve didn't have the energy to really fight anyone at the moment.
Eve took the quiet of the kitchen as a breather, looking at the pie Damon had brought in. He definitely found Jenna's favorite pie and brought it to butter her up. Eve let herself chuckle. A nice pie and a ton of alcohol? Yeah, he was trying to make her like him. Eve didn't get much time to herself before Damon entered the kitchen. Eve looked up at Damon, and Damon looked at her. A familiar smile spread across his face as he wiggled his fingers at her.
"What happened at the 'gal-pal sesh'?" Damon asked, walking over to the counter next to Eve. Eve rolled her eyes back at him, allowing herself to smile back at him.
"Top secret information." Eve said seriously. Damon raised an eyebrow back. "Only those of the 'gal pal' gender can know about what happens at gal pal seshes." Eve snarked, acting snooty. Damon rolled his eyes playfully, walking behind her to a box of fancy silver utensils. Eve raised an eyebrow back at him as he grabbed a pie server.
"Fair enough." Damon shrugged, placing the pie server under the pie he had brought. "Did Caroline say why she's been acting so weird?" Damon asked, walking around Eve and grabbing a bottle of beer from the fridge before walking back over to her and standing next to her. Eve sighed, letting her head fall back dramatically.
"No. She won't tell me." Eve muttered, nearly leaning into Damon's warmth as he stood next to her. "And Elena is goin' to the boarding house fer Stefan." Eve shrugged, leaning more on the counter to keep herself from him. "How's your buddin' romance with Mason?" Eve asked, leaning on her arm to face him more. Damon rolled his eyes back at her.
"I could ask you the same thing." Damon snarked back. Eve now rolled her eyes. "I do have an invasive question though." Damon said, walking back over to the silverware set over. Eve watched him curiously. "You never told him about me?" Damon asked with a gentle playfulness in his voice, grabbing a silver knife from the set and pointing at Eve. Eve let out a laugh, turning around and leaning against the counter.
"Why? Are you jealous?" Eve asked playfully before biting her tongue after the question slipped out. Damon smirked back over at her.
"Oh, I'm very jealous." Damon muttered lowly, walking over toward Eve directly. Eve's heart fluttered before irritation took over from her body's unintentional response to Damon. "But, I'm just a hair bit more angry than jealous." Damon growled out, standing only a foot away from her as he waved the knife at her disappointedly. Eve raised an eyebrow at him and folded her arms, ignoring the fluttering. "Stefan told me about what happened last night." Damon stated, making Eve's brows raise. Shit. "And if Mason did that to you, Evie, I can guarantee I'll rip the punk's heart out as soon as he confesses." Damon nearly whispered, reaching around Eve and grabbing the pie with one hand and putting the knife in his pocket with the other.
"And what if he doesn't have control over it when he's fully a wolf?" Eve murmured back, hating how close the two were. "And if he wasn't the one who did it? What then, Damon?" Eve asked, staring up at him. Damon stared down at her for a moment longer.
"I'll find another reason to rip his heart out." Damon said seriously before a smile slowly spread across his face, reaching around Eve to make the two closer before he pulled away, holding the beer he had brought over and left beside her, twisting the cap off. "Now, come on; your little puppy may be getting restless without his hand resting up your skirt." Damon leaned closer to Eve's ear and growled the sentence out before taking a step back and nodding at the door. Eve rolled her eyes back at Damon. It was the best thing she could do. Either she was going to kill Damon or kiss him, and Eve didn't want to spend any more time alone with the man to find out which would happen first.
As Eve walked into the dining room, everyone was sitting at the table. Mason looked up from his spot and smiled at her, but his smile dropped just as quickly when he saw Damon walk in right after. Eve walked over and sat next to him and smiled.
"Mason, why don't you start us off!" Damon smiled, putting the pie down in front of Mason's own plate. Mason smiled back up at Damon without a hint of that smile in his eyes.
"Hey, ladies first." Mason said, turning the pie towards Eve. Eve looked at the pie and felt her stomach drop.
"Not much of a pie kinda girl." Eve shook her head, trying her best to not glance up at Damon. Eve knew why he had picked out the fancy silver pie cutter. Werewolves and silver didn't mix. Mason gasped out.
"You keep surprising me, Evie." Mason said with a shake of his head. Eve cringed at the name as he looked at the pie for a moment. Eve saw Alaric's brows furrow for a moment at the name as well. Eve kept her eyes down. She didn't dare look at Damon. Mason turned the pie so the pie cutter was opposite him before grabbing a piece of the pie with his hands and plopping it onto his plate. Eve couldn't help but raise her eyebrows at the action. Mason chuckled, looking at Alaric. "Wha-I apologize, I'm an animal." Mason said, smiling over at Eve and licking the pie from his fingers. Eve shook her head as he continued to smile at her.
"So, Mason." Alaric said, glancing at Eve as he spoke. Eve wanted to hit him for being so obvious with his mannerisms. "You and Jenna never dated?" Alaric asked curiously. Eve nearly got out of her seat to hit him. He was trying to help the situation, but now it was so much worse. Mason only chuckled lightly, glancing at Eve, shaking her head.
"She was always lost in Logan Fell-land." Mason teased Jenna as she walked over and handed Alaric a mug of something. Eve reached over to the cup to steal it, but Alaric took it and shook his head at her playfully. Jenna laughed, handing her own mug to Eve.
"Not sure it's what you'd want." Jenna snickered, shaking her head, leaning over Alaric taking his mug. Alaric let out a puff, which only made Jenna giggle more. "Mason was-er, is a catch. He had girls lining up." Jenna teased, kissing Alaric on the cheek before turning and walking back into the kitchen and leaving him the mug. Alaric smiled back at her.
"Really?" Damon asked, turning back to where Jenna went. Eve bit her tongue to keep herself from laughing at how baffled Damon sounded. "I always pegged you for a lone wolf." Damon shrugged, turning back to look at Mason as he took a sip of his beer. Eve rolled her eyes at the comment. Damon had been making those types of comments all night. He was trying to get caught and Eve wanted to snap his neck for being so stupid…and hilarious. Eve was supposed to be cutting ties with Damon…well, with everyone, but that was another obstacle that would involve shutting her humanity off…and right now wasn't the time. Eve flinched as Mason's hand returned to her thigh. Mason only smirked back at Damon.
"I'm sure I wasn't half the lady killer you were." Mason shrugged, taking a drink of his own beer. Eve sipped whatever was in her mug. To Eve's disappointment, it was actual coffee. Mason smiled back at Eve, grabbing and squeezing her thigh under the table, nearly making her jump out of her chair. Luckily, she was in the middle of taking a drink and forced herself not to choke. "How about a toast?" Mason suggested as Jenna brought three more bottles of beer over to the table, handing one to Eve. Eve smiled at her as she raised her bottle to her for a moment. "To new friends." Mason said, raising his bottle up. Eve pushed the mug out of her way, avoiding the mess she knew she would have made otherwise as Alaric, Jenna, Damon, and Mason all clinked their bottles together and called for cheers. Eve couldn't help but notice the hole Damon was staring into Mason as he smiled. Eve sighed softly to herself, drinking a lot more of the bottle than she had intended to. Mason's smiles weren't reaching his eyes either. Men were dumb and Eve wished she had gone with Caroline and Elena. At least then she could have potentially tortured Katherine instead of herself.
Damon was beyond pissed. Eve had left to help Caroline with her flat tire and now Alaric was the only one who was keeping him sane. Which was saying something, because Alaric also drove him bonkers. He had reached irritating levels of jealousy as well as outstanding amounts of rage. All because of that stupid wolf boy. Damon had pretended to be nice the entire night…Well, his version of nice, that was. Evie would have thought he was being too forward with his constant jabs and play-on-words with the word 'wolf'. Hopefully, Eve thought they were funny too. Damon grabbed a glass from the kitchen, not wanting to go back to the whole party just yet. He needed a breather. From Mason. From her. Mason's nicknames rang in his head like a virus.
Baby girl.
Evie.
His Evie.
Damon leaned against the counter to calm his nerves. Eve had said that the two could get jealous of each other…but Damon hadn't been prepared. Damon wasn't prepared to be jealous. But he knew he deserved it.
Did you really think she'd wait for you?
Damon shook his head at the thought…before he remembered what Evie had said earlier in the night. Evie said that she hadn't told Mason about him. Which then begs the question…who had Mason been talking about when he told Damon that? Who was Mason talking about when he said he was going to use the fact that Damon got riled up with Mason's comments in bed? Even if Damon didn't like Mason at all, Evie didn't mind his company…and that included sharing a bed with him. So…who was Mason sleeping with besides Eve that would tell Mason about him?
"Jenna just brought out Guitar Hero, might be time for a mutiny!" Mason. Damon turned around and looked at him as he walked up cheerfully towards Damon. Damon smiled back at him as he grabbed the bottle of bourbon that Mason had brought.
"Well, I just so happen to like Guitar Hero." Damon snarked back, pouring himself a glass. "So you, my friend, are barking up the wrong tree." Damon said with a smile, looking at his glass. Damon was funny. It just sucked that Evie wasn't there to hear him be funny, even if it meant her looking at him with a disapproving look and a shake of her head, despite a small smile being on her lips. Fuck he missed his Evie. Even just the small moment they had where she called him by his nickname changed his whole mood.
"Okay. Enough with the innuendos, you win. You're hilarious." Mason stated seriously. Damon smiled back at him.
"Thank you." Damon chirped happily.
"Come on, man, you don't think I know what this barbeque is about?" Mason asked, taking a step closer to Damon. Damon looked him up and down, forcing himself to not laugh.
"To have a good time?" Damon asked with a smirk, taking a sip of the bourbon. Mason rolled his eyes. "You're pretty brave coming in here alone after what you said to me a few days ago." Damon muttered, the playfulness gone in an instance. Mason puffed out a laugh.
"I know you won't kill me or snap my neck or whatever you do." Mason shrugged. "I don't think little miss Evie would like that." Mason said with a smirk. Damon grabbed Mason by the collar and pushed him backwards so his back hit the counter at vampire speed.
"Stop calling her that." Damon snapped back lowly. It was taking all of his willpower not to just snap this man's neck. Mason's hands went up quickly and defensively.
"I'm not your enemy, man." Mason said back quickly. Damon nearly laughed.
"You tried to kill my Evie." Damon growled back at him. Mason's brows shot up before he tried to play it off by shaking his head.
"I didn't mean to!" Mason snapped back. "I couldn't chain myself up in time. I have no control once I shift." Mason explained back quickly.
"What, no obedience school?" Damon snarked back, still keeping a tight grip on Mason's collar.
"I'm serious." Mason snapped back, finally grabbing Damon's arms and shoving him backwards. Damon let himself take the step back. He felt like he was going to snap that bastard's neck at any moment. "Let's not spark some age-old feud that doesn't apply to us." Mason snapped, fixing his collar. "I don't think Eve would like it if she knew you were such a possessive 'friend'." Mason chuckled, quoting 'friend' with his fingers and shaking his head before walking around Damon.
"Eve didn't tell you about me. She didn't say my name at all." Damon muttered, stopping Mason in his tracks as he turned. Mason turned and looked back at him.
"No." Mason said, shaking his head. "No, she never specifically said your name, but I feel like you were this friend who broke her heart." Mason muttered back, folding his arm. Damon stared back at him.
"Then who were you talking about when you were trash-talking me?" Damon asked, cocking his head slightly. Mason stared back at him. "You told me…" Damon muttered, feeling his anger beginning to boil at just the memory alone as he began slowly walking back over to Mason as he shook his finger. "You asked me if I thought she would wait for me." Damon said, trying his best to keep his cool…but he knew it was slowly losing it. "If my Evie hadn't told you my name, then who were you talking about?" Damon asked. Damon could be jealous all he wanted. Damon would be jealous. Thinking about his past and times with Evie, there were good reasons that the two spent time apart, and a good portion was due to his own jealousy. And yet, it still took him nearly a century to realize that he had fallen in love with Evie. Now that he realized he had been stupid, he needed to make sure Evie wasn't wasting time on slimy, or hairy in the case of Mason Lockwood, dumb men. "Why are you really here in Mystic Falls?" Damon asked, finally standing a foot away from Mason. Mason stared back at him.
"My brother died. My nephew lost his father." Mason shrugged back, irritated at the questions. Before he could ask any more questions, Damon's phone rang. Damon rolled his eyes, pulling his phone out of his pocket and answered, not bothering to look at who was calling.
"Eve told me to call you and tell you that she hates Katherine." Stefan muttered, sounding both irritated and concerned. Damon's brows furrowed, ignoring the fact that Mason was leaving the kitchen.
"I mean, I know she hates Katherine, but why-" Damon got out, barely noticing the way Mason paused when he heard the name, but his attention quickly shifted to a groan. "What happened to Eve?" Damon asked quickly. Stefan sighed.
"She stabbed Katherine and Katherine gouged out her eyes in retaliation…after she nearly ripped out Eve's heart." Stefan said quickly, sounding like he was rushing around.
"WHAT?!" Damon snapped loudly. "For fuck sake, I'll be there in 5."
"It takes 15 minutes to get from here to Elena's, Damon, don't do anything stup-"
Damon hung up and was already texting Alaric that he was leaving early and that their suspicions of Mason Lockwood being a werewolf were true. He was going to kill Eve. And then he was going to kill Katherine for even touching Eve.
Whoops sorry. i love you all, i had surgery and life has been a mess but i love you!
