Everything felt warm and cold at the same time. I found my memories flooding that night, a year ago, the cold rain beating on us. We ran fast through the alleyways of New York. I could hardly catch my breath as I was half-shifted. Selene was having a harder time in her old age. She was a dear friend of ours, Hales.
" How did that hunter find us?" I asked as I saw her eyes glow that ruby red. My golden eyes reacted to her status. The rain hit us as we had to run.
" I smell blood." I said as we got into a dark alley with no light but the moon. I saw that Selene was holding her side. I saw her hand was covered in blood.
" You have to try, Selene!" I cried as the rain pelted us harder. Her heavy breathing was getting worse.
" I promise you will make it out of this. I won't." She said as tears filled my eyes. We only got away from the hunter, but for how long?
" What do you mean?" I asked as she took my hand in hers.
" You are a Hale. I'm the last of the Delray line. The Hales are very powerful werewolves. I wish to give you a chance to escape the hunter and a fighting chance at your future." She said as I could hear the hunter's footsteps.
" No. Don't ask me to." I said as she nodded.
" You are going to do great things." She said as she took my right hand and I felt her press the back of my palm. My claws came out.
" I know I'm asking a lot, but your siblings will understand." She said as her eyes glowed that ruby red color.
" Become the Hale you are meant to be." She said before she quickly used my claws to slice her throat open. I gasped as the blood ran down her body. I saw her with that smile. Her eyes faded as I felt the power rush through me. I closed my eyes. I ran blindly away from her as I heard the gun being loaded. I ran till I collapsed in an alley far away. I soon heard footsteps, I knew the smells. Laura and Derek.
" What happened? Where's Selene!" Laura asked as I felt her hands on my face. My wet hair stuck to my cheeks.
" We were cornered." I said as tears drifted down my cheeks.
" She asked me to." I said as I opened my eyes.
" I'm sorry." I said as I saw in the reflection of my sister's eyes, I saw my eyes glowing no longer the golden yellow I was used to, but the ruby red that signified I was now an Alpha. I looked over to Derek, who looked as surprised as Laura did.
" It's ok." Laura said as I nodded. The power in my veins sat well as we walked back to the apartment we lived in. I sat on the couch with a warm blanket to dry me off.
" I will teach you how to control it." Laura said as she brought me over some hot chocolate.
" Thanks. I don't know if I can be a good Alpha, not like Selene. She was like our aunt. She kept us in the loop, she taught me things. How to hide. She taught me the ways of having an anchor. She gave me the secrets of her pack line." I said as my eyes shifted. When Selene had the time, she taught each of us different things about being werewolves, I always thought she took a shine to me.
" You are going to do great things as a new Alpha." She said as I drank slowly from the mug.
" Even if you are a 15-year-old." She said as she flashed her eyes. She was an Alpha herself after all and Laura knows best.
I came to as my eyes glowed. My back was bleeding slightly as I felt the wound closing up. Mother fucker!
" Fucking bitch!" I growled as I got up. I smelt the Alpha was here. I also saw that Jackson's car was there. I smelt not only Jackson but Allison and Lydia! Fuck! Stiles!
" Oh you bitch!" I growled as I didn't see Derek or his car, I got over to where his scent was strongest. I smelt the blood and followed it to where his car was last. He got out of here! Thank god!
" Left me here?" I asked myself, but he probably knew I could handle it. I let myself falter as I saw that I was still hurt. Even if I was healed on the outside, I still needed some time. I dragged myself to the Beacon Hills High School sign. I flicked my claws out and got into the family vault. The sign closed over and I laid down to heal, seeing all my family's treasures and Peter's vault.
" Come on." I growled as I forced myself to shift. I felt my wounds close. I growled as I got up. I heard a roar. Gotcha bitch! I went to the other entrance and got out. I walked to school.
" Where are you!" I screamed out as I heard it. I ran and saw a transformed Scott walking the halls.
" Scott?" I asked as he didn't stop. He kept leaving, so I ditched him and saw the Alpha in the gym.
" Come on bitch!" I snarled as it came at me, I threw him hard into the closed bleachers.
" Hurt my brother! You die!" I said as he ran at me and swiped my face, I fell as he swiped my leg. I smirked, quickly getting up, and bared my fangs. I flashed my eyes at it, showing I was a fellow Alpha. It growls before seeing my eyes. It looked confused before I heard the sirens. It ran out, I wanted to go after it, but the freshly healing scratches on my leg prevented that.
" Dumbass." I growled as I felt the wound close. I wandered the halls. I felt a slight limp from the scratch on my leg.
" Stiles!" I called out, I smelt him. I soon saw him and he embraced me and gave me a hard kiss.
" Thank fuck!" I said as he held me tight.
" Thank god you are alive!" He said as he twirled me. We got outside. Scott was talking with the sheriff.
" Scott blames your brother for killing all those people. He used Derek as a scapegoat." Stiles said as anger flooded my senses. I cried out as my anger flooded. I stayed by my bike, Stiles came over and looked around.
" Derek's not here." I said as he nodded.
" You might want to tell him that he's going to be a wanted man." Stiles said as I sent my brother a quick text.
Scott blames you for the deaths. ALL of them. Get to hiding. RH.
I sent it and shut my phone off. I saw the sheriff come over, I saw Scott slightly looking pissed.
" Raven, we have a spare bedroom at our house till we find your brother." The sheriff said as I nodded.
" I'll be over." I said as he nodded. I rode home and saw a note on my bed after I packed my duffel bag full of all my stuff.
I'll be in hiding. Stay safe. Stay Alive. DH.
I felt a tear go down my cheek. I got on my bike and rode it to Stiles. I set up the room and lay in bed.
" Are you ok?" Stiles asked me as I shrugged.
" I will be hun." I told him as he sat down next to me.
" Allison broke up with Scott." Stiles said as I laid back.
" Why did he do it?" I asked as Stiles held me. I cried in his arms for almost an hour before I sniffled into a tired state. Stiles laid me under the covers as I saw the Sheriff looking in.
" You'll be ok." He said as I nodded.
" Please, stay with me till I fall asleep" I asked as he nodded. He pulled me to him and I laid my head on his chest, I let my body fall into a deep sleep with him holding me.
Laura had picked Derek, and me up from school and headed home. It was past dark due to me having an after-school activity.
" I want pizza when we get home!" I said in a cheery tone. I was 10 at the time, Laura had freshly graduated and Derek was 17 at the time.
" We will figure that out." Laura said as we pulled into the drive, we saw the flames. Our house was covered in fire. Police were trying to hold off the situation with firefighters.
" No!" I cried as Derek held me.
" Mom!" I cried out as I knew they were in there. My family was burned alive. I cried out as the smell of burning flesh hit my nose. Soon the fire was put out and the bodies were counted. 11 were dead, I saw them carrying out someone who I could hear their heartbeat going.
" Uncle Peter!" I cried as he was burnt and smelt of poison. Wolfsbane.
" It's ok." Derek said as tears came out of my eyes. My sister Cora was dead, my family was dead! I let out a wail that brought Laura over to me and embraced us as the remnants of our home were in shambles.
I woke up in a slight sweat. I wiped my brow and sighed.
" Been a long time since I dreampt about what happened all of six years ago." I said as I got up from the bed and looked at the almost full moon. I was worried about everything, Derek was in hiding, Scott lost Allison and now, the Alpha knows it's not the only one that has a boost of power in this town.
" I'm a full bloodied Hale, I will do what I need to do, protect this town." I said as I made my eyes change.
" All this power." I said as I let myself change.
" I will avenge my sister." I said as I changed back. The door was knocked on and I went to open it. It was Stiles.
" Come in." I said as he came in and shut the door.
" When I saw the Alpha lift you up and blood was leaving your mouth, I felt my heart shatter." He said as I felt tears on my cheeks.
" When I found you in the hall, I felt like my heart stopped." He said as I felt him put his hands on my cheeks.
" I thought you died." He said as tears left his eyes.
" You can't kill a Hale." I told him, he kissed me and I kissed back, I pulled him with me to the bed. I moved his jacket to the side as he lifted up my shirt, my bra covering my chest as he carefully touched one and I gripped the back of his head. We pulled apart and he laid down next to me.
" I'm glad you are alive." He said as I smiled.
" It's hard to kill a Hale, especially when they have the Alpha Spark." I said as I flashed my eyes.
" Stiles, I feel like you are it for me." I said as he smiled. He placed a kiss on my lips and I smiled into it.
" I feel the same way." He said as I stared into those brown eyes. I let myself curl under the blanket and Stiles lay next to me.
" Get some sleep. You need to heal." He said as I smiled. I let my mind begin to drift to sleep, but I swore I heard him say one last thing.
" You are my world now." I swore I heard him say as I drifted.
