Movie Cast
Since my fanfiction, Vanessa's Tale, is based on the 2023 live-action Little Mermaid, imagining who could bring these characters to life on the big screen would be fun. I asked for help picking actors who best fit the role of the cast. I chose actors whose names I recognized or who fit the character's physical description.
Again, please remember this was just done for fun, like when I picked pretend voice actors for my stories based on animation. It's just for fun and to make it more real, at least in my and some readers' minds. But again, none of this is done outside the realm of just for my own amusement. So, if this were a prequel movie, here's who I'd have to play each character. Like any movie, they'd need help looking like the intended vision, but I hope I picked the right actors.

Royal Family of Aigygo and Staff
King Jericho is a man as handsome as he is just. He's not one to judge by status or background but by character. His compassion and fairness are unmatched, and he's always up for an adventure. A devoted husband and father, he's the heart of our story.
Queen Lorelei: She's a rare beauty, but she can also be judgmental, overprotective, and close-minded. She often acts as if her heart is made of ice.
Princess Vanessa: She's as beautiful as her mother but has much of her father in her. She loves exploring, is kindhearted, and dreams a lot. She is also at the age where she dreams of the perfect romance and is a bit naive.
Madame Minerva: The Palace Music teacher who is like a godmother to Princess Vanessa and never judges her singing talents as harshly as her mother does.
Lady Elara is a compassionate and wise woman in her mid-30s, married to Sir Cedric. She has long, wavy, auburn hair and warm brown eyes. Known for her empathy and grace, Elara is a trusted confidante of Princess Vanessa. She offers motherly advice and emotional support, helping Vanessa navigate the challenges of court life and her mother's tyranny.
Sir Cedric is a loyal and brave knight in his late 30s with short, dark hair and a strong, muscular build. As Lady Elara's husband, he shares a deep bond with her. Cedric is the royal family's close advisor and protector, exceptionally devoted to Princess Vanessa. His wisdom and courage make him a key ally in Vanessa's quest for justice and understanding.
Royal Family of Merrow: A colony ruled by King Triton's third cousin. Royal family and staff
King Aalto: He's very much like his cousin King Triton, but he can be unintentionally neglectful and has difficulty listening or expressing how he cares.
Queen Aquamarine: She's beautiful and doesn't like how her husband gives all his attention and love to their firstborn. She is also angry he tends to neglect her and their secondborn. So they don't have a happy marriage or family.
Crown Prince Marco: He's the perfect son in his father's eyes. He's showered with love, attention, and praise even when he makes mistakes. He's very much like his father in that he can be overconfident and doesn't show respect or love to those he deems unimportant.
Prince Merrick: The neglected son of King Aalto. He tries hard to please his father and get the same attention as his brother. But is constantly shoved to the side. His mother gives him as much love as she can. But they both know that for a son, it's his father's approval that he longs for the most.
Lady Nerissa is a spirited and curious mermaid in her early 20s with flowing teal hair and bright green eyes. As the daughter of Captain Thalass, she has inherited his adventurous spirit and strong sense of justice. Nerissa is a close friend and confidante of Prince Merrick, often encouraging him to stand up to his father and pursue his dreams. Her playful nature and loyalty make her an invaluable ally in Merrick's life.
Captain Thalass is a seasoned and respected merman in his early 40s. He has a rugged appearance, a commanding presence, and salt-and-pepper hair. As the leader of King Aalto's navy, Thalass is known for his strategic mind and unwavering dedication. Despite his tough exterior, he is a loving father to Nerissa and a mentor to Prince Merrick, offering guidance and support in their struggles against King Aalto's tyranny.
