Jacob
"Thanks Sam. Sorry y'all couldn't go home just yet. Renesmee needs us to help someone. We don't have a lot of time," Sam nodded, "who is it we are helping?"
Renesmee stepped forward and Sam knelt down. After a moment Sam smiled at Nessie.
"I see," he looked at me, "do we know where she is? If she's still alive?"
"From what I heard the vampires she is dealing with won't be here till tomorrow. So we don't have a lot of time, but we have enough to be ready." Sam stood up.
"Are we sure she's friendly," Nessie jumped from me to Sam, "yes! Yes, yes, yes! I'm sure. She's like me! You'll know when you catch her scent. Please Sam! Please, please, please help her! You stood with my family against the Volturi once, will you help me save my new mother by standing with us again?"
Sam looked at me shocked. He glanced at Renesmee. He looked torn. I could see he wanted to say no, but I could also see the gears spinning in his head.
"What makes you so sure she is your new mother, Renesmee?" Renesmee looked down.
Her tiny hands clenched into fists. I knelt down next to her.
"Nessie," she turned her head to me.
Tears were falling down her face. I had never seen her cry. Not even when she realized Bella was gone.
"Honey, you have to show him," she looked surprised, "show him why you think she's your new mother."
Her eyes lit up. She reached forward and placed her hand on Sam's cheek. I had seen what Nessie was showing Sam. I had done my best to be Nessie's friend. I had also done my best to make sure she stayed in one place, but I only had so much power. I glanced at Sam. He smiled at Renesmee.
"We will help protect her. We will bring her back to you." Renesmee hugged Sam tightly.
"Thank you, Uncle Sam." I smiled.
Sam looked at me. I nodded at him. He nodded back.
Aleatha
The vision changed. Now there were wolves in the clearing with Alice and Jasper. This had to stop. I jumped down and ran over to Alice.
"This has to stop, Alice! This is my fight! I will not let your family fight for me! They will end up dead!" Alice shook her head.
"I see something different. You are supposed to be part of our coven. That's why we're here, Aleatha." I bit my lip.
I know that. I've seen it too, but Renesmee has been put in enough danger.
"I know Alice. I know what you've seen, but I can't let anyone else die on my behalf. Not again. We won't win Alice. If it comes to a fight today we will lose. Please Alice? Just go back!" I couldn't lose anyone else.
Renesmee needed her family and I wasn't part of it. I needed to get them to leave.
I heard howls and a bunch of wolves came into the clearing. I backed away. I shook my head.
"Alice! This isn't right! We can't go through with this Alice! Please. Go back for Renesmee." Alice walked up to me.
She gripped my shoulders and made me meet her eyes.
"No. You did the one thing everyone of us was afraid to do. You stood up for a little girl you didn't know. You risked everything to open our eyes. To get us to focus on her instead of being afraid to upset Edward. Let us fight for you. Let us stand with you. Renesmee needs you. That's reason enough for us to stand with you." I glanced at the wolves.
I didn't know about this. The Volturi were dangerous and the Cullens had already dealt with them once. They wouldn't be so kind a second time. I had lost too many people because of my parents and the Volturi.
"Are you sure, Alice?" I saw the determination in her eyes.
I relaxed. I couldn't persuade her otherwise, but I wasn't so sure about the wolves. I looked at the black one.
"What about you," he looked surprised, "I can hear your thoughts."
I saw what you did for Renesmee. She is an imprint to a wolf and so she is to be protected. You protected her in a way her family was too afraid to. For that we will help protect you because you have fought to protect one of our own.
I met eyes with all the wolves. I nodded. I pulled away from Alice. I need a moment alone. I climbed up a tree. I looked down at the vampires and wolves in the clearing.
Please don't let them die.
