Chapter Three: "Bloody Welcome"

They arrive at the docks and Jason leaves the black Mitsuoka Galue limousine without a word.

Jason stealthily heads into the warehouse. He had easily got to the roof using the tendrils of Darkness and slid inside through a skylight. He surveys the area and sees the gang that calls it home.

They wore many different variations of black suits and wore black skull masks to hide their identity. They were the False Face Society aka The False Facers aka The Sionis Crime Family aka Black Mask's Gang.

Looks like Roman Sionis was making moves outside of Gotham. Too bad he was now going against something much worse than the Batman.

He looks around to see the specific members of the gang there. Besides the basic henchmen, there were also some Martial Artists, Enforcers and Armored variants (basically all Black Mask goon types from Arkham Origins), 20-30 men in total.

Now he needed to hide his identity from them just in case of survivors.

[JaSoN], the Darkness calls out for him

"What?", Jason quietly asks of it so the goons don't hear.

[OnE Of OuR PoWeRs Is An ArMoR Of DaRkNeSs thAt YoU CaN MaNiFeSt], The Darkness share with him.

Soon after, Jason's clothes are covered by a skintight organic suit of armor that was the blackest of black with red accents all over it with metallic gauntlets and greaves and facemask (basically the comic suit with vantablack as the main suit color and red replacing he gold). It covered all but his hair, forehead, and eyes. His eyes were glowing a deep red.

Jason decides to be quick and ruthless, first he had to deal with the lights.

He looks around the warehouse and finds the breaker. He breaks it and the power went out.

"Huh, what the hell happened to the lights!", one of the Black Mask goons yells out.

"Someone get them back on!", one that sounded like he had more authority to his voice yells out.

Despite it being pitch black save for light of the dusk through some windows and the False Facers were stumbling around like blind men, Jason could see without any issue.

Jason stalked around the area, coming close to one of the enforcers (the big brutes of the Arkhamverse) when the Darkness speaks to him again.

[ThIs ArMoR CaN ShApEsHiFt, JaSoN], The Darkness shares with him, [ImAgInE WhAt YoU WaNt It To Be AnD ThE ArMoR WiLl Do It].

Jason flattens his hand and a blade forms around it. He then stabs into the bigger man with it as he uses a tentacle to cover his mouth to lessen the noise of his death.

He continued to pick off some men till one of the False Facers found a body.

"Oh, god! I found someone, over here!", he calls out before he leans in close and sees the blood, "Fuck me, I think he's dead!",

Jason then appears before him with taloned fingers on his gauntlets and ripped out his throat. The others now see that he is there and takes out their guns to open fire on him, but the bullet couldn't penetrate his armor as he rushes forward with long bladed whips extend from his arms and he spins around and wraps around some guys, they then spin like a chainsaw and cut them to pieces.

Jason picks up two guns and shoot the other men in the head killing them. With the guns out of ammo, an Armored Enforcer rushes forward to cave Jason's skull in but Jason easily caught it, too easily to Jason.

[OuR StReNgTh Is BeYoNd NoRmAl MoRtAlS], The Darkness tells him, [AlL Of ThE PhYsIcAl CaPaBiLiTiEs ArE BeYoNd MoRtAlS].

Jason twists the man's hand and his bone comes out as blood sprays from the wound while the Enforcer screams in earth shattering pain, freaking out the other goons.

Two Martial Artists came at him with high kicks but Jason grabs their legs, lifts them up and slams them back down into the ground, causing them to separate from their legs from the force and their heads to smash open from the impact.

The remainder goons go to run but Jason summons tentacles and the two Demon Heads and grabs ahold of them. They then went about executing them with the Demon Heads. Spines ripped out via their asses, twisting around them and eating their hearts, others being ripped in half via their legs like a wishbone.

Eventually, there was only one man left. He had a more unique mask then the others, showing that he was higher up on Black Mask's gang hierarchy.

"Hello", Jason greets in a sinister tone, the mask making it sound almost demonic.

"Wh-Wh-What do you want?!", the man stutters out in fear.

"I'm going to leave you alive, unlike your fellow goons, in turn, you tell Black Mask to stay in Gotham", Jason tells him, "Tell him... the Darkness will come for him", he drops the man to the ground and he panically runs out of the warehouse.

Jason leaves as well, the armor being dismissed back into his jeans, red hoodie, and black leather jacket. He walks around to the car that housed Jimmy the Grape.

He gets in the car and Jimmy greets him, "Jason", the elderly italian says, "I assume they were no problem for you. I think you did it faster than Jackie would've".

"Yeah", Jason nods as he rights his sitting and they drive away.

Not long after, the car pulls up to a building and goes into its parking garage. Jimmy and Jason get out and head for the elevator. Jimmy pushes the button for the penthouse. Jason remained tense, on the chance of betrayal.

They arrive on the top floors and Jason steps out to see a extravagant two story penthouse great hall with white and black marble floor and a circular design in the middle, a grand chandelier above it within a domed skylight. The stairs that led to the second floor was to the left of the exiting the elevator. Jason saw curtains on the second floor to separate it from the main hall. A hall was straight forward leading to a side room, a small hallway to the right that led to somewhere and a double door to the right that looked like it led to a library or study.

"Why don't you look around some while I go get Vinnie", Jimmy the Grape tells Jason, "And don't worry about the boys here, they were extremely loyal to Jackie and wouldn't hurt you to save their lives".

Jason wondered around the Penthouse's lower floor first. He first walked into the Study to see a ton of books and scrolls with a four chair table in the center, another domed skylight above it. There was a door to the right that he tried to open but it was locked and Jason didn't want to force it open now.

He then enters the double doors on the other side of the room to see a pool table, a small bathroom was to the immediate left, before the other set of double doors into the hall. There was a bar to the other side on his right, a jukebox to the right of it and double doors to the outdoor

patio to the left. Jason goes to leave through the double doors to the hall but stops to see an old school pool cue holder that also had the balls, the triangle, and a chalk scoreboard, marked with Jackie vs Kyle, and Jackie was in the lead.

Looks like they never used it since his father's passing.

Jason enters the hall to immediately see an open sitting room with a fireplace and a small chandelier above it. It had white chairs and and couches with a wooden table with a glass table top in the middle. Around two-three walls over the fireplace was five paintings depicting one image of the New York skyline at night, with the Empire State Building in the center frame.

Jason went out another set of double doors that were in the glass wall of the hall onto the patio, or whatever such an open space would be called on the roof of a tall building connected to a penthouse.

He turns around to see how the place looks like a full on mansion glued on top of a skyscraper.

He goes back into the hall and heads down it into what appears to be the kitchen. Directly in front of him was the main cooking area with a bar like countertop separating it from the rest of the kitchen. their was a desk or long counter with a chair to the left of his entrance with wine bottle up high. A walk-in freezer appears to be to it's right. The cooking area weirdly had a mural of the daytime clouded sky that lead to a tiled mural of a angel statue in a park over the sink. The stove was before the bar counter top and was up to date. The fridge to the right was updated to modern smart fridge.

Jason opened it to be see that it had one of those glass screens that allow you to look inside without actually opening the fridge and wasting cool air. Nice.

There were also cushion seats before a window sill to the left of the cooking area, with more wine bottles in glass cases on either side of the window.

Guess Jackie and his men were alcoholics or something.

The door to the right of the kitchen area appears to just be a dining room, with over 14 seats, along with some more plush seats against the walls.

Jason left through the open archway to the left of the kitchen for some more chairs, like another small sitting area.

He continues forward and sees another bathroom to his left, this one was bigger than the one at the bar area and had a nice shower.

He then enters into a room through curtained double glass doors, into what appears to be the boss office as he sees Jimmy the Grape and a middle aged man.

Focusing on the office first. It had red walls and some more books lining them. Their was a table that had a sword displayed, three old ones at that, along with an american flag and a 1797 italian Cispadane Republic flag hanging behind them. A desk before a grand window with midnight blue curtains. In the left corner of the bookshelf was a flat screen tv aimed to the desk. On the wall to the right of the desk were portraits of Jackie Estacado, with other smaller in scale pictures of him with friends and family.

The man with Jimmy was dressed in an all grey three piece suit. He had short greying brown hair with his hairline looking similar to Hugo Weaving, showing he was in his forties or fifties at least.

"Jason, this is Vinnie", Jimmy introduces. The man holds his hand out for Jason to shakes, which he does.

"So good to see another Estacado", Vinnie says as he shakes his hand, "Your old man was the best boss we had in decades. Kept the family on the straight and narrow, helping the people on the streets, beloved by all. It's only when people fucked with us that he fucked them back", he paused, "Pardon my language."

"It's fine", Jason tells him, "I've said worse".

Jimmy steps up, "Vinnie and I have been running the family for since your father died over a decade ago", he informs, "And like Vinnie said, he was the best boss we had. But, we just can't do this. I'm more of an advisor kind of guy..."

"And I'm more of a right-hand man", Vinnie says, "And when we found out about you. That Jackie had a son. We knew you could take his place, like we never could."

Jason took it in. He had planned to go to Gotham and take control of the drug peddlers and gun trade under Black Mask in his plan for Batman and the Joker.

But to truly run a crime family, a long existing one that his real father led is a big deal. But having some backup when he finally deals with his problems in Gotham might be useful.

"Alright", Jason agrees, "But will the others follow?", referring to the rest of the Frenchetti crime family.

"The top brass know you're Jackie and Jenny's kid and all behind you", Vinnie tells him, "The lower level men know about what you did at the graveyard and the warehouse, showing you

have the same... skills as Jackie", at Jason's quirked brow, Vinnie continues, "Only those here now know about that", he paused for a moment, "And Johnny Powell".

Jason furrowed his brow, "Who's Johnny Powell?"

Vinnie sighs, "He is an expert of the occult we know, but he seems to have a screw loose because of it. He helped Jackie with his special skills along with any other occult thing he collected. He was kind of his supernatural advisor to Jimmy's mob advisor role", Vinnie explains, "He still lives in new york, but he is always moving, living like the homeless on the streets. We can find him, if you want".

"Sure", Jason says, having another occult exert outside of the Darkness itself would be a safe bet.

Jimmy speaks up again, "So, what's your fist order of business, Jay?".

Jason thought for a second, "I think something big".

A Minute Later

All the top tier guys of their mob family were all standing in the grand hall before he elevator. Jimmy, Vinnie and Jason were standing at the top of the stair to the second floor that overlooked the area and the men.

Vinnie steps forward, "Alright boys, you all know what we're here for. Allow me to introduce the son of Jackie Estacado and our new boss, Jason Estacado", he steps back and Jason steps forward.

"Hello, everyone", Jason casually greets them, "I'm the new fast made boss of this family, Jason Estacado. Honestly, I'm a little hesitant to be your leader, but these two were adamant I could do it. So I'll do my best and continue my parent's good name", Jason tells them.

Jason takes a deep breathe before continuing, "In honor of my fallen father that you all love so much, my first order is for us to change our name from the Franchetti to the Estacado".

Jimmy and Vinnie look to each other in surprise before looking back to Jason while the underlings murmured among themselves.

"I know this is a big change, but it's mostly to show we're not the same mafia as the one once lead by Frankie Franchetti. Not to mention, it's weird to be a mob leader to a group that didn't have your name on it", Jason explains, getting murmurs of acceptance.

"Also, we won't be a crime family kind of mafia", Jason tells them, "I grew up on the streets of Gotham and saw the horrors of not just supervillains but from the likes of the Falcone and Maroni Families. I won't have kids and shit suffer due to my actions", some were hesitant at that due to how they get money, "We'll have legal operations and steal from actual criminals for funding", Jason adds on, thus calming them some.

"After you let everyone else know about the changes, our next order will be taking control of the city from other gangs", Jason continues, "The only thing I want us to worry about is superheroes, and if you do what I tell you, we won't even draw their attention for a while. And if we do, I can draw their attention away from you all."

After that, the men left except for Vinnie and Jimmy and the security team for tonight.

"Alright Jason, big changes right off the bat huh?", Vinnie infers as he brings in a bottle of scotch and three glasses, he pours some into the glasses and the three men grab a glass to drink and toast with, "To our future success, and a Happy 21st Birthday to you, Jason", and they drink.

Jimmy sets the glass down and turns to Jason, "The bedrooms are on the second floor. the one to the left hall was Aunt Sarah's, but we had most of her stuff taken out with things that had no sentimental value were sold or given to charity. The one straight down the marble hall was your old man's, the only thing we changed of that one was the mattress with that memory foam stuff and adding his picture to the memorial table he had".

"Alright, thanks Jimmy", Jason tells him before he and Vinnie left, leaving the keys to everything with him.

He heads up to the master bedroom that his dad once used and enters into it to see that darkened beauty of it. Outside of the unique art piece used as a headboard for the bed, his line of sight was drawn to the table that had some pictures on it along with a rose, a picture pendent, candle and a box of matches.

There were three pictures on it, one of his mother, Jenny Romano, the other of his father, Jackie Estacado, and the third was both of the together.

Jason stood their for a minute, thought it felt like hours to him, staring at the images of the parents he never got to meet. That had to leave him with friends for his safety only for it to bite them all in the ass.

Picking up the box of matches, Jason takes a match out and lights it before lighting the candle for the night.

Jason then heads to the bed and lays on it before sleeping for the night.

The Next Morning, The Warehouse

Police swarmed the area as the bodies of Black Mask's gang were discovered and reported.

Soon, a brunette woman with a fit body in jeans and a leather jacket arrives with her partner, an asian man in a rolled up sleeves button-up shirt.

They were the homicide detectives called for the graveyard massacre as well and were assigned to this one as some evidence showed similarities between them.

The woman rushes in first and introduces herself to the officer standing guard, flashing her badge, "Detective Sara Pezzini".

Chapter End

AN: Procrastinator I am, took forever it did because of it. I feel like crap because of it too because this is actually one of my favored stories.

I'm reading the comics, watching the shows, and redoing the games to better myself for this story, so hopefully the next chapter will come out real soon.
