"So," Ricardo mumbles, fingers trailing lazy shapes against Alicia's spine as they lay side by side in bed, listening. "What exactly are you thinking about doing for the March 30th event?"
Alicia hums, then looks up at him. "Honestly, I'm not sure. it still feels so far away."
He chuckles. "Yeah, I know. But we should think up something before too long. Just to make sure you don't panic or freeze out there once it is time."
"Yeah." She shifts, presses her face against his shoulder, nuzzles closer. "Thank you for always being on top of these things. I'm too scattered to properly do the indy scene thing anymore, I think."
He chuckles. Kisses the top of her head, hugs her closer. "My pleasure," he murmurs. They're close to dozing off, exhaustion wearing them down, when they hear soft footsteps outside of their bedroom. "No," Ricardo moans into his pillow. "Stay quiet, just ignore it, perhaps they will go get a drink of water, then go back to bed," he says hopefully.
Alicia huffs out a laugh but follows his suggestion until there's a knock at the door. "Mama? Papa? I can't sleep."
She sighs and sits up. "Come in, love. What's the problem?"
"It's too noisy," Andre says, rubbing at his eyes. "Please, I- I can't stay in there, something keeps thudding against my windows, I... I'm scared." His lip is held, pouting, hands trembling against the door, and Alicia sighs.
"Ricardo?"
"UH huh," he sighs, shifting aside to give him room to climb in. Which he does as soon as Alicia nods at him.
"Well, come on in, baby," she says softly, watching as he scurries into bed next to them.
"Thank you," he says, nuzzling between his parents and holding onto Ricardo's pillow tightly.
"Any time you need us, you know we're here," Alicia murmurs, brushing her fingers through his hair, smiling down at him as Ricardo rubs his back. He lets out a soft, sleepy little noise, nuzzling closer to her as his parents smile at each other over him. "Good night," she whispers.
"Good night," Ricardo hums, settling back down against his pillow, content to watch Andre and Alicia sleep until he too drifts off.
