Old Chateau and Rotom
Once the group finishes lunch, they continue on through Eterna Forest, training up their Pokemon as they do.
Lincoln's Monferno and Hisuian Zorua got stronger, his Shieldon learned Swagger, and his Buizel learned Swift
Stella's Roserade got stronger, her Eevee learned Baby-Doll Eyes, and her Beautifly learned Morning Sun and Air Cutter.
Sam's Prinplup, Kricketune, Golbat, and Eevee got stronger, her Luxio learned Roar, and her Onix learned Screech.
Dawn's Piplup learned Fury Attack, her Sylveon got stronger, her Pachirisu learned Swift, and her Buneary learned Quick Attack and Double Kick.
Clyde's Gallade learned False Swipe and Aerial Ace, his Psyduck learned Screech, his Leafeon got stronger, and his Nincada learned Mud-Slap; also during Nincada's training, he started to glow.
"Hey, my Nincada's evolving!" said Clyde. Everyone watches as Nincada's body splits open from the top and something comes out of it; when the glowing stopped, they see an insect Pokemon with a yellow head and red eyes, gray insectoid arms, black belly, and white wings with red markings on the ends of them.
"Cool!" said Lincoln as he points his pokedex at Clyde's newly evolved Pokemon.
"Ninjask, the Ninja Pokemon. Because they move so quickly, they sometimes become unseeable. They congregate around tree sap." said Lincoln's pokedex.
"And this says he's part bug and part flying, he learned Double Team, Screech, and Fury Cutter after evolving, and she now has the Speed Boost ability which makes her faster as a battle she's in goes on." said Lincoln.
"Rad." said Luna.
"What's with Ninjask's old shell?" asked Sam. Everyone looks to see the Nincada former skin was still glowing; it starts floating in the air and changes into a light brown, bug Pokemon with a halo over its head.
"Is that a Pokemon?" asked Lincoln as he points his pokedex at the transformed shell.
"Shedinja, the Shed Pokemon, and the evolved form of Nincada. It is a discarded bug shell that came to life. Peering into the crack on its back is said to steal one's spirit." said the pokedex.
"So Nincada's shell became a Pokemon?" asked Clyde.
"And this says that it has no gender, it learned Shadow Claw, Grudge, Mud-Slap, Metal Claw, and Dig; it also has the Wonder Guard ability which only makes it that only super effective moves, weather effects, and conditions can harm it." said Lincoln.
"Two Pokemon for the price of one." said Clyde. He takes an empty pokeball out of his pocket and throws it at his new Shedinja and catches it.
Luna's Geodude learned Self-Destruct, her Grotle and Hisuian Sneasel got stronger, and her Aipom learned Fury Swipes and Swift.
"You think you'll be ready for your gym battle at Eterna City, Lincoln?" asked Clyde.
"I hope so." replied Lincoln.
"I'm ready for my second ribbon." said Dawn.
"You'll get your second ribbon after I win my other four." replied Stella. She and Dawn began to stare at each other when a raindrop lands on Dawn's nose, surprising her. Everyone looks up to see dark clouds forming; they also hear thunder rumbling.
"We better find some shelter." said Lincoln. They look around and see a very old, abandoned-looking, mansion nearby.
"Let's get inside!" said Luna as she and the others run inside just as it started to pour.
"We should all just wait the storm out in here." said Sam.
"Yeah, we don't want to get soaked." said Clyde. The group look around their current surroundings at all the old furniture and portraits.
"Who used to live here?" asked Dawn.
"Must've been someone rich considering this is a mansion." said Stella. The group then begins to explore the place, unaware of the fact that they were all being watched.
As they looked around, they find several large bedrooms that still had furniture in them, including beds.
"At least there's places for us to sleep in case this storm doesn't stop by nightfall." said Clyde.
"That's a plus, little dude." said Luna. They soon find a room with a fireplace in it and have Lincoln's Monferno start a fire to warm them up.
A couple hours later, they were getting hungry, so they used the fire to cook up some canned soup they had with them.
"Doesn't sound like that storm's ending anytime soon." said Stella as she sat next to Lincoln.
"Looks like we're spending the night." said Lincoln. As Stella stands up, she is suddenly lifted up into the air by an unseeable force.
"What's going on?!" asked Stella as she struggles to break free of whatever was carrying her.
"Is this place haunted?" asked Clyde with worry, and a bit of excitement in his voice.
"Just get me down from here!" said Stella. Lincoln takes out his pokedex from his backpack and starts pointing it towards her.
"What are you doing?" asked Luna.
"Just checking something." said Lincoln; the pokedex suddenly finds something and shows a picture of a Pokemon that looked like a black ball with eyes and a mouth, covered in a purple aura.
"Gastly, the Gas Pokemon. It's a Pokémon born from poison gases. It defeats even the largest foes by enveloping them in gas." said Lincoln's pokedex. As soon as the entry was finished, several Gastlies suddenly appeared, with one holding Stella.
"Don't worry; we'll save you, Stella!" said Lincoln as he takes out his Hisuian Zorua's pokeball and lets her out of it; prompting Luna to let out her Grotle, Clyde to let out his Shedinja, Dawn to let out her Pachirisu, and Sam to let out her Luxio.
"Grotle, use Bite!" said Luna. Grotle goes to one of the Gastlies and bites down on it, dealing super effective damage.
"Luxio, use Bite also!" said Sam. Her Luxio runs at another Gastly and bites it, dealing super effective damage.
"Shedinja, use Shadow Claw!" said Clyde. Shedinja floats at a Gastly and slashes it with a feeler that was coated in dark energy, dealing super effective damage.
"Zorua, use Bitter Malice on the one holding Stella, and be extremely careful not to hit her!" said Lincoln. Zorua nods before she leaps up and gets up close to the Gastly holding Stella and blasts with an icy cold blast of dark energy, making it drop its captive. Lincoln quickly runs to where Stella was going to land and catches her in his arms.
"Thanks, Lincoln!" said Stella before she kisses Lincoln on the lips. After Lincoln sets Stella down once she was done kissing him, he looks at one of the Gastlies that was struggling to get up.
"Since it's a ghost type, I'm guessing that Lucy would like it." said Lincoln before he takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at the Gastly, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles a few times before it clicks.
Seeing their friend get caught, the other Gastlies flee the room.
"We showed them." said Clyde.
"Now what?" asked Sam.
"Let's look around and see if there's anymore surprises lurking around." said Dawn.
"Good call." said Luna. Lincoln uses his pokedex to look up his Gastly's information.
"My Gastly's a boy, he knows Lick, Confuse Ray, Hypnosis, Mean Look, and Payback; he has the Levitate ability which makes him immune to ground type moves." said Lincoln. After he puts his pokedex away, the group starts to look around every room, checking for any signs of any Gastlies. They soon enter a room that had an old TV in it.
"This house must really be old." said Sam.
"Yeah, the TV isn't flat." said Clyde. The TV suddenly turns on, showing static.
"How did that happen?" asked Stella.
"Was it a Gastly?" asked Lincoln.
"Could be." said Dawn. The group looks around the room to see what turned the TV on when Luna makes a discovery.
"Dudes." said Luna.
"Yeah, Luna?" Sam replied. Luna bends down and picks up the TV's electrical cord that WASN'T PLUGGED INTO AN OUTLET.
"How is the TV on then?" asked Lincoln. They got their answer when the television starts surging with electricity and an orange Pokemon with a spike-like protrusion coming out of its head, covered in electricity; comes out of it.
"Is that a Pokemon?" asked Sam as she points her pokedex at the Pokemon.
"Rotom, the Plasma Pokemon. Its body is composed of plasma. It is known to infiltrate electronic devices and wreak havoc." said Sam's pokedex.
"This says it's part ghost type and part electric type." said Sam.
"It looks nice." said Stella. The Rotom flies around the group playfully until it sees Luna's guitar that was on her back and goes into it.
"What's it doing?" asked Clyde. Luna's guitar floats off her back, then starts to turn orange.
"What's with my guitar?" asked Luna.
"Well, Sam's pokedex says Rotom possesses electronic devices." said Clyde. Luna's guitar suddenly had Rotom's eyes and mouth.
"What's it gonna do now?" asked Luna. Guitar Rotom suddenly starts to play a rock song.
"I guess it just wants to jam!" said Sam as she starts to do some headbanging, prompting everyone else to do the same.
"It's pretty good!" said Dawn. Suddenly, Gastlies started to appear, along with a Misdreavus, and they all started to get into the music. Ten minutes later, Guitar Rotom stops playing and sets itself into Luna's arms; Rotom then comes out and starts laughing a bit. Lincoln looks around at all the ghost Pokemon that looked like they were enjoying themselves.
"I guess the Gastlies were just playing around with us before." said Lincoln.
"Yeah, I imagine they don't get that many visitors here." said Sam.
"So they didn't really mean me any harm?" asked Stella.
"That could be." said Clyde. After all the excitement faded, the Gastlies all left the room. Lincoln then notices the Misdreavus staring down at everyone.
"What do you think it wants?" asked Dawn.
"Maybe it wants to come with us?" Clyde guessed. Rotom also starts to fly around the group as well.
"Rotom might want to come with us as well." said Sam.
"Who should get them?" asked Clyde.
"I'll bet Lucy would love this Pokemon as well." said Lincoln. Rotom suddenly flies into Luna's guitar again.
"And I'm guessing Rotom wants to stay with Luna." said Sam.
"That settles it then." said Luna. Lincoln takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at the Misdreavus, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles once before clicking. Misdreavus' pokeball vanishes and gets transported to storage.
Luna takes out an empty pokeball just as Rotom comes out of her guitar; Luna throws the pokeball at Rotom, hitting it, and sucking it in. It soon clicked, indicating Rotom's capture. Lincoln takes out his pokedex to look up his Misdreavus' information.
"This says my Misdreavus is female, she knows Growl, Confusion, Spite, Astonish, and Confuse Ray; she has the Levitate ability also." said Lincoln. Sam uses her pokedex to look up Luna's Rotom.
"Luna, your Rotom has no gender, but it knows Astonish, Double Team, Thunder Shock, Confuse Ray, and Charge; it has the Levitate ability too." said Sam. Lincoln lets out a yawm, prompting everyone else to do the same.
"I think it's time to get some sleep." said Luna. Everyone starts heading for rooms that had beds in them and put their sleeping bags on them, then get into sleeping attire. As Lincoln starts to get into his bed, a knocking was heard on his door. He opens it, showing a nervous-looking Stella.
"What's wrong?" asked Lincoln.
"I'm a little nervous about sleeping in a haunted house." said Stella. "Can I sleep with you?" Lincoln's face turns red at the request, but he didn't feel right to refuse.
"S-S-Sure." said Lincoln.
"Thank you." said Stella as she looks away with a smile and blush on her face. The two, awkwardly, get into bed, and soon fall asleep in each other's arms.
The next morning, Lincoln starts to wake up to the sound of giggling; when he opens his eyes, he sees Luna, Sam, and Clyde looking at him with smirks, while Dawn looks with jealousy.
"What's so funny?" asked Lincoln before he hears Stella yawning; he looks at her, then the others when he suddenly realizes what they were thinking while blushing.
"Don't mind us, bro." said Luna with a grin. Stella wakes up completely and realizes what was going on and blushes as well.
"I-I-It's not what it looks like." said Stella.
"We know." said Sam.
"We're just messing with you." said Clyde. Lincoln and Stella quickly get out of bed and go to seperate rooms to get changed into their regular clothes.
After the awkwardness faded, Lincoln uses his Poketch to contact Lisa.
"Morning, brother." said Lisa.
"Morning." said Lincoln. "Is Lucy there?"
"I'm here." said Lucy from behind Lisa, startling her.
"I'm sending you a ghost Pokemon called Gastly." said Lincoln.
"Wicked." said Lucy. A green portal appears and Lincoln tosses Gastly's pokeball into it.
"And could you have Gastly do something for me?" asked Lincoln.
"What?" Lucy replies. Lincoln tells her what he wanted done, making a, sort of, smile appear on Lucy's face.
"And I have a Misdreavus for you also." said Lincoln. "But I have to get to a Pokemon Center and retrieve it."
"Double wicked." said Lucy. After the call ends, the group exits the mansion and look up at the morning sun.
"How much farther until we get to Eterna City?" asked Clyde. Lincoln looks at his Poketch's map.
"It's just on the other side of this forest." said Lincoln.
"Awesome!" said Clyde.
"Let's get going." said Stella as she grabs Lincoln's hand while Dawn grabs the other, and they all start heading down the path leading out of Eterna Forest.
How will Lincoln do in his Eterna gym battle? How will Dawn and Stella do in their next contests? Wait and find out.
Meanwhile, at Royal Woods Elementary, Rusty was walking down a hallway, trying to avoid the glares from the other students; as he turned to an empty hallway, he was suddenly lifted up by an unseen force.
"Hey, what's going on?" asked Rusty. He was suddenly thrown into the girls bathroom; girls screaming was heard from inside, followed by the sounds of slapping and punching. Lucy was standing outside the girls bathroom when Gastly appeared next to her. She looks at Gastly and gives him a thumbs up.
Minutes later, a bruised and battered Rusty was sitting in Principal Huggins office, who was sitting behind his desk with his arms crossed and a look of disapproval on his face.
"Let me get this straight; something invisible lifted you up and threw you into the girls bathroom?" said Principal Huggins.
"Yes." Rusty nervously replied. Principal Huggins then holds out a detention slip towards Rusty.
"A week of detention for you, young man!" said Principal Huggins.
