WEDDING DAY-3

Hi everyone. Many thanks for all your comments after last chapter. I'm so relieved, that you like the story, so I'm going to take it further. I still feel, that we didn't see enough of focus on the newlyweds during the wedding episode, but it's going to be different here, I'm totally focusing on the bride and the groom. Today we will go through wedding reception, the parts we saw on the series and the one we didn't. Hope you will like it.

The car drove in front of the school house and Charles and Elsie just exchanged shy smiles, through all the way from the church. No words were needed at the moment, it was enough that they were just holding hands discreetly, so the chauffer would not see it.

Their hearts were bursting from joy, that they were now husband and wife, that it was official, but they knew, that now they have to focus on celebrating with the family and their friends.

They would be more than willing to share a kiss, but there wasn't an opportunity to do that. When the car drove in front of the school house, Charles got out first and he offered his hand to Elsie, helping her to get out. She quickly smoothed her dress, making sure, that everything is the way it's suppose to be. She would gladly look in the mirror, to check if she was all right, but Charles immediately guessed her thoughts and he whispered to her:

"You look perfect"

"Thank you"-she blushed hearing such words from him, she no longer needed a mirror. His words were the best encouragement she could get. They got inside and stood by the door, waiting for the line of guests, wanting to congratulate them. The room looked great.

Elsie almost had tears in her eyes, seeing all the tables with such carefully prepared food, everything looked amazing. She knew, that she will have to thank Mrs Patmore and Daisy later, for all that enormous effort, that they've put to prepare all this. Mrs Patmore didn't let Elsie be any part of the food section, telling, that she is supposed to enjoy the day.

Charles was looking at the same direction, admiring the piece of work. He was already hungry, seeing all the food. He knew, that Mrs Patmore's cooking skills will not let him down. As soon as his sight scanned the room, he turned to Elsie, with the intention of letting her know how happy he is, but before he had a chance to do that, first guests appeared at the door and he felt disenchanted with this, but the game was on. They had to get through their party.

It was so nice to have all the nearest and dearest people, wishing them so well, they've received thousand congratulations, or at least it seemed like this. Upstairs, or downstairs guests, today it didn't matter at all. Everyone had the same wish-so that the newlyweds would live happily ever after.

Both Elsie and Charles felt surrounded by good wishes. All the time Charles was eager to stay in close physical contact with his new wife, he kept on touching her hand, or her back, when they were receiving congratulations from people and she loved that. She was looking at him with adoring and flirtatious eyes, which gave him hot flushes all over his body.

Guests were telling Elsie how lovely she looked, they complimented Charles's choice of the bride, which made him feel prouder than ever.

Before they even realized, the queue to congratulate them got shorter and shorter, until it ended and then somehow, they were separated in two corners of the room, forced to talk to the guests, being apart, when they really wanted to be close and together.

Trying Mrs Patmore's cooking masterpieces, was the next step and for a while everyone were busy with the food and wine tasting. Elsie found a moment to thank Mrs Patmore and Daisy for all the hard work that they've been doing.

They replied, that it was nothing, as long as she was feeling happy. Elsie told them that she was in fact very happy.

She looked around to see where Charles was, only to find out, that he was talking to Lady Mary. The blessed one wanted to use the last chance to have her favorite butler just to herself. Elsie smiled, because she suddenly realized, that in reality Charles now belonged to her. If only she could find a moment to be with him alone.

Little did she know, that at the same time, Charles was having exactly the same thoughts. He was chatting with guests, enjoying the food, but really he was looking for an opportunity to be alone with her. If only all the people could vanish for a moment...

Luckily for both of them, the occasion arrived much quicker than they would expect it. Without even planning this, they unexpectedly met outside the main room, in the hall, which led to the toilets.

They literally bumped at each other in the hall and they could not be more happy about it...

"Finally...I was waiting for this for so long..."-Charles took Elsie in his arms and started to treat her face with little kisses...He simply couldn't stop himself...

"You think it's safe here? Someone may catch us..."

"Who cares? We are husband and wife now...Everything is allowed...I love you so much...I can't wait to be alone with you...Could we just elope now?"

"A little too late for that now honey..."

"You are so beautiful...My wife, my Elsie..."

"Finally you are calling me Elsie...I thought that I will never wait for that moment...That I will be Mrs Hughes forever..."

"You are no longer Mrs Hughes...You are my Elsie Carson...All mine..."

Charles lost self control and his lips transferred from her face to the side of her neck, which made her weak in the knees...They both wanted this moment to last, but they jumped off each other violently, hearing footsteps approaching...

Charles smiled wickedly and hid himself in the man's room, while Elsie was going to pace back towards the main room, when she saw, that the footsteps belong to Mrs Patmore...

"Here is a happy bride...I was looking for you...For a moment I thought, that maybe Mr Carson kidnapped you to your cottage..."

"Don't be silly Mrs Patmore, he would never!"

"Wait a moment, is that a hickey on your neck? My, my, your husband is not wasting time!"

"Where?"-Elsie looked panicked, checking herself in the mirror, which was hanging on the hall.

"Ha, ha! Got you! There in no hickey, but at least I know now, why you are lurking in that dark corridor!"

"Mrs Patmore, I ask you! You are terrible, you know that?"

"Yes I do and I'm proud of that!"

Elsie and Mrs Patmore got back to the main room. Charles soon joined them and this time, he stood next to Elsie...She felt so shy, as she could still feel his impatient lips on her skin, the warmness of his breath and the enormous need that he had for her...

Charles would gladly speed the clock. It was not that he didn't enjoy this moment, but the part that he was most looking for, was still ahead of them...He was only hoping, that Elsie is looking forward to this part as much as he was...

He felt, that it was a right moment to say few words, to make a toast and express what was in his heart. His speech was not long, but it was very moving...To his wonderful bride...This was their moment and the general joy was soon increased, when unexpectedly for everyone Tom Branson and Sybbie came back from United States.

The joy was even bigger, when they found out, that they came back for good. For a moment all eyes were on upstairs people again and Charles used that, to touch Elsie's back again, this time a little lower, causing her embarrassmentShe couldn't help to smile though...She got closer to him and whispered, making sure first, that nobody heard her:

"Behave yourself Mr Carson, remember that you are a married man now..."

Charles replied with a smile, of a boy being caught at some innocent mischief...

When all the excitement connected to Tom Branson's arrival has passed a bit, the next part of the ceremony could begin...The music started to play and Elsie's legs began to move, as she was really looking forward to a hooley.

Swiftly people gathered in line, to join the happy dances and Elsie was leading...She felt so happy and carefree...For the first time, since she started to work in Downton, she let herself be wild and free, just like she was in Scotland, in her youth years...

Sweet rhythm of the music carried her away and Charles looked in awe for dancing Elsie, once again being taken aback by her wild temperament

This was the side of Elsie, that he so rarely has seen, but he wanted to see more now...Elsie was hoping, that Charles will join the hooley, although she suspected, that he will not let himself be that free.

He joined later, when musician played a slower dance and he finally got to the dancefloor, asking Elsie for a dance...

"So, you decided to join us at last?"-She asked, she was blushed from dances, but it only made her looking more alluring in his eyes...

"Yes, I waited for a slower dance, to have an opportunity to hold my wife very close..."

"How clever of you Charles Carson..."

"How much longer Elsie?"

"How much longer what?"

"How long do we have to be here?"

"Don't you like our wedding reception?"

"I love it, but I want to go home with you my love...I've been waiting for that the whole day...No, wait, correction...I've been waiting for that for the last thirty years..."

Elsie looked at him with love and passion in her eyes. That bold statement coming from Charles, was so beautiful and so moving...He meant what he said and she knew that...

"One more dance Charles and we can say goodbye..."

"Are you looking forward for being alone with me Elsie? Or is it just me who is being hasty?"

"How do you think Charles? You are not the only one who waited thirty years for that..."

"One more dance then and we are out..."

That's all for the reception chapter...This is how I imagine this...I like Tom Branson, but I think, that he should not be coming back during the reception...This was Chelsie moment. I imagine them being totally happy about the party, but also very impatient to be alone...Plus of course, I could not help myself with the little incident with Mrs Patmore ;-) Hope that you liked this one and tomorrow will be the ending chapter of this story...Which as you may well guess, will be the weeding night...Have a wonderful weekend!
