Threads of Destiny

Chapter 54: Discovered

At Coruscant...

Nadia and Ferus were having a picnic together at the Coruscant Green Park.

Nadia wore a midi-length purple and white dress with spaghetti straps and off-shoulder puff sleeves. The dress was gathered at the waist with a white fabric belt. The skirt had a lacy border in white and the fabric has delicate shell, star and pearl details. On her feet were a pair of white and purple flats. Her raven black hair was styled in two curly pigtails with two long loose pieces in the front. She also wore a pair of soft pink glasses.

Ferus wore a pale blue collared, button-up shirt with sleeve going down his elbows underneath a dark teal waistcoat of gold buttons and tight dark blue trousers and short brown boots. The white streak on his dark brown hair was dyed brown like the rest of his hair. He wore black shades to have his eyes covered.

At this very moment, Ahsoka and Master Yoda were on a cave on Ilum with a group of younglings to perform a Jedi rite of passage called 'The Gathering', where they will each have to face an internal fear or flaw in order to retrieve a Kyber crystal so they can begin building their own lightsabers.

"Do you think Ahsoka will be fine with a group of younglings, Ferus?"Nadia asked.

Ferus eats one of the chocolate covered camby berries from the small container that he brought for the picnic with his girlfriend.

"I'm sure she will be."Ferus complemented."Ahsoka isn't a stranger when handling younglings."

Nadia took a sip from her can of Meiloorun juice.

"I should at least be there for her."Nadia stated and frowned as she looked at her reflection from the can she held."Something could end up going wrong and the younglings might end up traumatised of the horrors they faced. They're just kids that should be enjoying their childhood. Not preparing to join a war zone."

Ferus glanced at Nadia.

"That doesn't like you to be the worried time, Dia."Ferus replied smugly."In my book, you and Ahsoka are the most toughest female Jedi that I've ever met."

Nadia smirked and gives Ferus a playful punch on the arm.

"Me and Ahsoka are strong Jedi, but we are nothing compared to legendary ones like Bastila Shan, a legendary Jedi Master who fought alongside other famous figures such as Darth Revan and the crew of the Ebon Hawk or Meetra Surik, also known as the Jedi Exile after the Mandalorian Wars. As a Padawan, she chose to disobey the orders of the Jedi High Council and aid the Galactic Republic in its war against the invading Mandalorian Neo-Crusaders."Nadia complemented as she gripped her head in utter admiration as a fan girl would."I mean, come on! These female Jedi became legends despite all the odds that they were going through or were against them."

Ferus chuckled and gives Nadia a kiss on the cheek.

"And I have no doubt in another time in the Galaxy that you'll become a legend of the amazing things you've ended up doing as well, Nadia."Ferus declared."Just keep being the amazing girl that I and everyone else loves."

Nadia blushed and smiled shyly, feeling touched by her boyfriend's words.

"Thanks, Ferus."Nadia thanked."Hearing that from you means a lot."

Ferus and Nadia shared a loving smile with each other before the two of them continued enjoying their picnic together.

If only the other Jedi and Padawans could see how wonderful was to be in love.

Then again, the members of the Jedi Council were strictly adherent to the Jedi Code and completely ignoring the 'human' side of their Padawan students during a time of war.

Many of the Padawans were just children thrust straight onto the battlefield with no forewarning or reasonable expectations of what they were to see, experience, feel and forced to do in this horrible war. Expecting that children taught from birth to be peacekeepers (and pacifists) to lead men into battle and not be traumatised by the horrors on the battlefield which in her own opinion was one of the worst acts of ignorance the Jedi Order.

According to the Jedi way, they must contain their emotions, all on their own, basically to bottle up all the emotions and act like emotionless machines. That was not a healthy way to care for trauma.

Nadia was taught the Corellian Jedi Code when she was still living with her deceased loved ones in Corellia.

If only the Jedi here were like the ones back in her home planet.

Maybe in the near future, things would get better.

The children of her and Ferus would be playing in the Jedi Temple as well as making friends with the children of Jedi Knights that formed attachments as well.

But no doubt, the children of Anakin and Padmé would become very close to her and Ferus' own children.

Nadia blushed at of what she was suddenly thinking about.

She and Ferus were a couple now, but they were still a little far from bending knee to the alter.

After their escape pod crashed, Maul and Savage were brought into a Kom'rk-class fighter/transport and taken to the Death Watch camp on Zanbar.

There, Pre Vizsla ordered for his men to help the brothers in any way they could, giving Maul new robotic legs and Savage a cybernetic arm.

Maul notice he was given new legs while Savage was near him, laying unconscious.

"Savage?"Maul said.

Then Pre Vizsla and Bo-Katan then came inside Kom'rk-class fighter/transport.

"You're not Jedi."Pre Vizsla said."So what are you?"

Maul attempted to stand up, only for Bo-Katan to smirk and aim her blaster at Savage.

"We are Sith."Maul responded.

"Do you serve Count Dooku?"Pre Vizsla questioned.

"I serve no one."Maul snarled.

"I thought there could only be two Sith; a master and an apprentice."Pre Vizsla commented.

"We are brothers."Maul answered."The true Lords of the Sith."

"What happened to your ship?"Pre Vizsla asked.

"Destroyed by Jedi."Maul retorted.

"Do you know which Jedi?"Pre Vizsla questioned.

Maul scowled as he remembered the very Jedi that destroyed the ship he had during the Florrum incident.

"Kenobi and Aomori."Maul snarled in annoyance.

This caused Pre Vizsla to glance at Bo-Katan, who nodded at him.

"And what do you seek now, Sith?"Pre Vizsla asked.

"Fortune and power."Maul answered.

Pre Vizsla glanced at the medical droid.

"Repair this one's legs, and do what you can for the other."Pre Vizsla ordered.

"Yes, sir."the medical droid responded.

After Maul has fully healed, he was brought to the command tent where Vizsla was waiting for him.

There the former apprentice of Darth Sidious saw Pre Vizsla waiting for him with Bo-Katan and some of his men accompanying him.

"In time for tea."Pre Vizsla stated."Come join me."

Maul made his way to the small table and sat down as Pre Vizsla poured some Cassius tea on his cup.

"Made with the florets of a Cassius tree."Pre Vizsla declared."It's good for your health."

Maul took a sip from his cup as he noticed the symbol on Vizsla's helmet.

"Your mark?"Maul said.

"The sign of Clan Vizsla. I am Pre Vizsla. We are the Death Watch, descendants of the true warrior faith all Mandalorians once knew."Pre Vizsla explained as he stood up from where he sat."Now my people are living in exile because we will not abandon our heritage. Our people were warriors; strong, feared. Now they're ruled by the new Mandalorians who think that being a pacifist is a good thing. They've given away our honour and tradition for peace. Duchess Satine and her corrupt leadership are crushing our souls destroying our identity!"

Pre Vizsla slammed his helmet on the table as he turned around to look at Maul.

"That is our struggle."Pre Vizsla stated.

"If they are weak, why do you wait?"Maul questioned.

"The Duchess has powerful allies, including your Jedi friends, Kenobi and Aomori."Pre Vizsla admitted.

Maul snarled in utter anger at the mention of the Jedi Master he despised and his brat of a Padawan.

"They're also responsible for our exile."Pre Vizsla retorted and then grinned."Perhaps fortune brought us together."

"It is the will of the Force."Maul answered as he stood up from his seat."We can help you reclaim Mandalore."

"And punish Kenobi and Aomori for their trespasses!"Pre Vizsla added.

Bo-Katan, however, didn't like the idea of Maul teaming up with the Death Watch due to allying with Count Dooku, who later betrayed them.

"We allied ourselves with Sith before."Bo-Katan retorted."Count Dooku, he betrayed us. Sith are no better than Jedi. They claim to be powerful, but we put these two back together after the Jedi gutted them."

Maul suddenly started choking Bo-Katan with the Force.

"Doubt will only lead to failure."Maul replied.

The soldiers of Death Watch aimed their blasters at Maul, but Pre Vizsla ordered them to stand out and not shot him due to being eager to hear what Darth Sidious' former apprentice had to say.

"Hold!"Pre Vizsla demanded.

"Our combined strength will be rewarded."Maul admitted strongly as Bo-Katan struggled to breathe."Mandalore will be yours! Kenobi, his Padawan pest Aomori, this Sith pretender Dooku and all our enemies…will fall."

Maul then released Bo-Katan causing her to drop on the floor while rubbing her sore throat.

"Check on your brother."Pre Vizsla ordered."We'll put it to a vote."

Maul then headed out of the command tent as Pre Vizsla and Bo-Katan shared a smug look with each other.

It seemed they found the key on claiming Mandalore and punishing the very Jedi that were responsible for their exile.

Back in Coruscant…

After her successful date with Ferus, Nadia checked back to her Jedi clothing in Padmé's Apartment before going back to the Jedi Temple.

The raven haired girl wore a stoic look to fit in with the Jedi that were throughout the Temple. But deep down, she actually hated it.

"Damn. Why do I have to act like I'm some sort of mindless machine?"Nadia thought in annoyance."It's just wrong beside creepy."

Nadia went to a room in the hallway where the Jedi Healers were and saw her younger half-sister, Maybelline, was being taught by Jedi Master Stass Allie; a cousin to the late Jedi Master Adi Gallia.

"Remember this, Maybelline."Master Allie instructed."Bacta can heal the body, but the Force can heal the soul."

"Yes, Master Allie."Maybelline replied with a nod.

Nadia smiled proudly at her younger sister before making her way to her bedroom to write down on her diary about her date with Ferus.

She sat down to open her dark beige diary book which was decorated with dark gold chains and decoration.

After picking up her pen, Nadia started writing down in it.

Dear diary,

I had another terrific date with Ferus this morning.

We were disguised as normal civilians and had a lovely picnic in the Coruscant Green Park.

It was nice to have another moment with him. It made me forget the horrors and the destructions caused by the Clone Wars.

But the same question keeps nagging me.

Is it right?

Is it right for me to yield so soon, for me to be so passionate, to be filled with as much passion and desire as Ferus?

Can I, a girl, allow myself to go that far?

There's only one possible answer and I'll tell you.

I'm longing so much and have for such a long time.

I'm so lonely and now I've finally found someone to fulfil the emptiness I have for the rest of my life which is something my late parents and older brother both wanted me to have.

A guy that loves me and will always make me happy.

Nadia suddenly closes her diary and places it in her backpack when she heard a knock on the door causing her to take out a study book of the Old Republic.

"Come in."Nadia insisted firmly.

The door to Nadia's headquarters opened and Obi-Wan came in.

"Oh. Hello, Master."Nadia greeted with a smile."What can I do for you?"

"Hello, Nadia."Obi-Wan responded."Would it be alright if I talk to you?"

"Sure."Nadia answered with a nod.

Obi-Wan sat in a nearby crate while Nadia sat on the crate opposite to him.

"So what is it you wanted to talk to me about?"Nadia asked.

"Well, I was expecting you to tell me."Obi-Wan insisted.

Nadia raised an eyebrow at Obi-Wan's respond.

"What do you mean, Master?"Nadia questioned.

"For starters, you can tell me why do you often leave the Temple?"Obi-Wan suggested.

The confused look appeared on Nadia's face vanished as she felt her blood run cold.

"Are you visiting someone, Nadia?"Obi-Wan asked.

"Yes. I am, Master."Nadia answered."And what if I am?"

"Young one, need I remind you that the Jedi Code strictly forbids attachment-"Obi-Wan started.

Nadia groaned in annoyance as she rolled her eyes and stood up from the crate to walk away a bit.

"Master, please, just stop."Nadia retorted."I don't see how forming an attachment can be such a problem."

"I can tell you that it seems to distract Ferus quite a bit."Obi-Wan admitted.

Nadia paled and then glanced at Obi-Wan with a small glare.

"Just how long did you figure that out?"Nadia demanded.

"I sensed a Force bond between you two every time you both shared a glance with one another."Obi-Wan complemented.

"Look, Master, I've developed an admiration on Ferus even before I became your pupil."Nadia complemented slightly."I really don't see the problem of it."

"You're going against the Jedi Code that's the problem."Obi-Wan replied with a frown.

Nadia scoffed at Obi-Wan's declaration.

"Look, I tried my best to not have romantic feelings for Ferus. But it didn't work."Nadia answered."He loves me and I love him back."

"I understand."Obi-Wan responded slowly, his frown deepening."And if you're told not to hold your attachment with him?"

"I won't."Nadia stated in a stern tone.

"You won't or you don't intend to?"Obi-Wan responded.

"Neither of us attend to break off from our romantic attachment, Master."Nadia answered firmly."We intend to keep it a secret because you're too much into the old ways of the Jedi."

Obi-Wan sighed and covered his face at Nadia's respond.

"Nadia…"Obi-Wan started.

"Master, please don't tell the Council."Nadia begged with a pleading look as she went over to Obi-Wan."They already don't trust me because of my ancestry. I don't want their distrust on me to deepen because of my relationship with Ferus. Please, keep it a secret?"

"Who else knows of your attachment with Ferus?"Obi-Wan asked.

"Ahsoka knows."Nadia answered with a sheepish smile."But also…Senator Bonteri, Anakin and Senator Amidala."

Obi-Wan was silent for a moment before he removed his hand from his face to look at Nadia in the eyes.

"Alright."Obi-Wan responded."I won't say a word."

Nadia's face brightened in joy.

"Yes!"Nadia cheered and tackled Obi-Wan in a hug."Thank you, Master!"

Obi-Wan lightly tapped Nadia's back before she stopped hugging him.

"But there are set of rules that I need you to follow."Obi-Wan declared with a small frown."Don't encourage him more than you can help it. It's always the man who takes the active role and it's up to the woman to set the limits."

"Don't worry, Master. I promise."Nadia assured with a smirk."I'm a good girl."

Obi-Wan frowned. "If you follow those rules that is."

Nadia chuckled before she followed Obi-Wan to do the training course for the day.

Obi-Wan has accepted to keep Nadia's relationship with Ferus a secret. But meanwhile Maul and Savage form an alliance with the Mandalorian terrorist group Death Watch as well as get revenge on Obi-Wan and Nadia. See you all in the next chapter and have a nice day!
