Back at the school...
The next day was a Saturday. The perfect day to go looking for ingredients for their reverse transformation recipe. Once they explained what was going on to Mr. Aizawa, he was dumbfounded. Even when Marinette, Adrien and especially Midoriya showed him what happened to them, he wanted no part in it. He knew Marinette had this covered, so he let them look around for the ingredients wherever they needed it.
Marinette gave lists to everyone that was helping out with finding these ingredients. Even Bakugo was helping.
"We're going to have to look anywhere we can to find these ingredients," Marinette explained to them, "Me and Alya are going to stay here and try to decode some more of the upgrades for me, Adrien and Izuku. Everyone else is going to help look for these."
Some of them looked at the ingredients, looking a little confused.
"Umm... Marinette. Some of these seem like something you might not find in Paris," Iida said to her, "Are you sure about this?"
"Yes, I'm certain. Just find whatever you can that you think goes with what I wrote down. It's not written down exactly because if the book fell into the wrong hands, someone else could make these," Marinette explained to them.
"So that's why it's written like a riddle," Midoriya said to her, "We definitely don't want someone like Chrysalis finding these recipes."
Marinette passed down all of the papers to Class 1-A and Adrien. She stood there looking confident that they can figure this out.
"I know you can find these," Marinette said to them, "If you can fight all of those akumas the other night, I'm sure that you can find something like these. Just think of it as a scavenger hunt."
Class 1-A looked down at the paper, starting to feel a lot better since they can go with whoever they want this time around.
Midoriya looked over at Bakugo and wondered if he might want to come along with him. He was about to walk up to him, but Kirishima beat him to it. He watched him and Kirishima walking out of the school building to find whatever they needed.
"Hey Deku," Uraraka said to him with a smile, "We might as well go together. I'm sure we can find these easily."
Midoriya smiled back and noticed Iida looking through the list by himself. They both looked at him and headed over there to see him. Iida spotted them as they walked up to him with determination.
"Iida, you want to help us?" Uraraka asked him, "Just like old times?"
Iida smiled at them and adjusted his glasses.
"That sounds a wonderful idea. I'll join you two on this mission," Iida said to them, "Especially when it has to do with Midoriya's... situation."
Midoriya rubbed the back of his head with a nervous smile on his face. He was wearing a beanie on his head so his bunny ears weren't sticking out. Even Adrien wore one as well and hiding his tail in his pants. Marinette this time was wearing a beret on her head and still had her jacket on along with her backpack to hold her wings in place. Along with all of the other Class 1-A students, they were all wearing some casual outfits.
Midoriya, Uraraka and Iida waved off to Marinette and Alya, and then they walked out of the school building.
All three of them walked for a while, just enjoying the day out for a while. They watched families walking by with their kids and even some groups of teenagers hanging out all together.
Midoriya looked at the groups of teenagers and thought about his friends that he was missing back home. A couple of the teenagers walking by almost looked like Kaminari, Yaoyorozu and Sero.
"Deku, are you okay?" Uraraka asked him, "You look upset."
Midoriya snapped out of it and turned to his girlfriend. He gave her a smile once she held his hand for support. Even Iida was looking at him with a concerned look on his face.
"I-I'm okay," Midoriya said to them, "We should probably get to it with this scavenger hunt Marinette has put together."
They all walked along a bridge and stopped to look at the list she gave all of them. Midoriya looked at his and looked at it with a confused look. He knew it wouldn't be straight forward, but he didn't quite know where to look.
"Okay... So, does anyone understand what this means?" Midoriya asked them.
Uraraka and Iida looked at their lists and looked just as confused as him.
"Well... maybe we can start with something that you can use to erase? That's gotta be an eraser or maybe a stain remover?" Uraraka said to them.
Midoriya noticed that on the list and agreed with her.
"Yeah, that's gotta be what that is," Iida said to her, "Well then, maybe we can grab it at Marinette's place. I'm sure her parents wouldn't mind us picking up something for Marinette."
Midoriya smiled, so happy to get the chance to see her parents again. He hadn't seen them in a while, so he was all for it.
"Come on, let's head over there now," Midoriya said to them.
All three of them went for a walk as Midoriya looked at the list. He wanted to keep looking as they headed over to Marinette's place. Some of the ingredients weren't as weird as they made it out to be now that he knew what he was looking for.
One of the ingredients said, something that can be touched but can't be seen. That could be anything. He went to the next one that said, something rare but gives you good luck.
Midoriya luckily had a pen with him and wrote down his answer.
"That must be a four leaf clover..." Midoriya thought.
The next one said, something that shines like the sun off of the sea.
"Maybe something that reflects...?" Midoriya thought back.
Midoriya tapped his pen against his lip as they walked and realized they were already at the Bakery Shop. He stuffed the list and pen in his back pocket, and they entered the Shop.
Once they went inside, the instant whiff of baked goods made their mouths water with delight. Midoriya and Uraraka's eyes sparkled looking at all of the freshly baked croissants and scones.
"Hey guys! We haven't seen you in a long time!" Tom exclaimed to them.
All three of them were so happy to see Tom baking all of these amazing baked goods. They knew Sato was going to be so jealous later on.
Sabine was by the register and had just finished dealing with a customer. She looked like someone they had seen on TV not that long ago.
"What can we help you with?" Sabine asked them with a smile, "As you can see, we have some Valentine's Day baked goods since it's almost that time of year!"
Midoriya felt a blush forming on his face when he noticed Uraraka looking around at the decorations with so much joy. He actually was tempted to get something for her, but he had to stick with what they came here to do.
"Ac-Actually Sabine," Uraraka said to her, "We came here because Marinette wanted us to pick up something for her. She's busy with a school project, so we came here to help out."
"Well that's sweet! If you need to pick up something for her, you can just head up to her room. Do you know where it is?" Sabine asked them.
"Yeah, thank you so much!" Iida exclaimed with a respected bow, "We appreciate it a lot and your daughter is very kind to us!"
Sabine and Tom looked confused as to why Iida was so expressive, but they smiled and let the three of them through.
They walked up to the stairs and went all the way up to the top. Once they entered the living room that opened up into the kitchen, the three of them went straight to the stairs that led to Marinette's bedroom.
Iida led the way and opened her bedroom door. He looked around and entered, knowing full well that Marinette let them do this.
"Okay, let's get what we need and get out of here," Iida said to them.
They all entered Marinette's bedroom and started looking around for something that was either an eraser or a stain remover. They all spread out, but Midoriya knew to look around her desk.
He searched through her drawers to look for an eraser. All he could find was fashion designing drawings and pictures of Adrien.
It felt weird of him to be looking through her things like this, but he couldn't help himself when he actually saw some of her drawings. They looked like something that would actually be made by a professional fashion designer.
"Wow, these are really good," Midoriya muttered to himself, making his eyes sparkle.
"Deku, what're you looking at?" Uraraka asked him as she walked up to him.
Midoriya made room for her to look, and her eyes sparkled just like his.
"Wow, did Marinette draw these?!" Uraraka exclaimed, "That's amazing! I can tell she really wants to be a fashion designer."
"She'd make a great superhero fashion designer back home!" Midoriya said, sharing the same excitement as her.
"What're you two doing? We're supposed to be looking for ingredients," Iida said to them, "Let's go before her parents show up."
Midoriya and Uraraka chuckled a little at him and carefully put the drawings away. He made sure not to mess with the pictures of Adrien and put them away.
Then he found an eraser right by her drawer of pencils.
He picked it up and was about to tell them, when he noticed a cabinet tilted a little. He went to fix it, but it broke off. Midoriya's face tensed up as he tried to put it back into place. It wasn't working very well.
"Midoriya, what did you do?" Iida asked him, a little too loud, "You were suppose to look for a stain remover or eraser."
"I did," He said as he showed the eraser, "But I noticed this was tilted, and I tried to fix it."
Iida crossed his arms as he noticed it wasn't fixed at all.
"It doesn't look fixed to me. Marinette is not going to like that you came into her room and broke something," Iida said to him.
Midoriya tried to fix it by putting it back into place with the hinges, but it still fell off. Then he noticed something behind it. He tilted his head and looked inside of it. Midoriya recognized it as the Miracle Box. He reached inside and pulled it out.
His green eyes sparkled as he looked at how amazing that swirling energy felt when you hold it. He had met the other Kwamis before, but never got the chance to see the Miracle Box up close.
"Whoa..." Midoriya muttered to himself.
"Midoriya! What're you doing with that?!" Iida cried out, "That's Marinette's Miracle Box! You shouldn't be playing around with that!"
Uraraka came walking over to them to see the Miracle Box in Midoriya's hands. She noticed the way Midoriya held it looked like he knew how important it was. Even Dekku came out of his pocket and floated over to it with big round eyes locked onto it.
Midoriya felt himself wanting to push the top button, but then heard a light knock on the door. He snapped out of it when he heard Tom talking through the door. They got nervous that they might accidentally reveal the Miracle Box to Marinette's parents.
"It's Mr. Dupain Cheng!" Iida whisper yelled, "Put that back! We got what we need!"
Midoriya put the Miracle Box back in the cabinet and tried to fix it again. Uraraka tried to help him while Iida tried to delay Tom from coming inside.
"Come on," Midoriya said to the cabinet, "It won't go in."
"Maybe if you try to just push it up against something--"
Tom came in with Iida looking a little nervous. Midoriya stood there, trying to block the view of the Miracle Box. Uraraka stood behind him, trying to fix the cabinet. She pushed something else up against it, and it was able to hold it for a while. It looked like they were going to have to tell Marinette about this however.
"Sorry for taking so long up here, sir! We were just--"
"We couldn't find what Marinette was looking for, but we found it now!" Uraraka butted in, "I've already put it into my backpack. We're sorry to bother you like this."
"No, it's okay. We just thought we heard some yelling is all," Tom said to them.
Midoriya and Uraraka almost chuckled a little when they noticed Iida starting to blush from embarrassment. They all went downstairs back to the Bakery Shop. Sabine was still by the register, and Midoriya passed by her. He noticed the Valentine's Day chocolates and macarons and knew what to do.
"Ca-Can you guys wait for me outside?" Midoriya asked them.
Uraraka and Iida nodded and left the Shop. He turned back to Sabine and got a little nervous for a moment. He saw Uraraka talking to Iida outside and felt something amazing about this. He smiled at her and turned back to Sabine.
"He-Hey umm... Can I actually get some of the Ladybug and Cat Noir chocolates with a few of the macarons?" Midoriya asked Sabine.
Sabine smiled and looked back at Uraraka who was still waiting outside. Midoriya noticed and got a little flustered.
"Sure sweetie. I can wrap it up in a little gift box if you want," She said to him, "After all, you and your girlfriend have done so much for our city."
Midoriya smiled widely and was so happy to have something special for Uraraka.
"Ye-Yes please!" Midoriya said to her.
After a few minutes, Sabine packed them up so neatly that he didn't even know to say. Midoriya pulled out his wallet, but she stopped him from doing so.
"You've done enough for us. Looking after my daughter and keeping her safe," Sabine said to him, "It's the least I can do."
Midoriya felt something really genuine about what she was saying to him. It almost made him tear up a little.
"Tha-Thank you, Sabine," Midoriya said to her with a smile.
Midoriya put his gift box very carefully in his backpack and headed back outside.
Sabine watched the three of them leave, specifically watching Midoriya and Uraraka holding hands together.
"Sabine, what are you looking at?" Tom asked her as he noticed as well, "They are pretty cute together. They almost remind me of Marinette and Adrien."
Sabine and Tom were just so happy to see these heroes in training have a nice day today.
Another amazing chapter!
Midoriya, Iida and Uraraka are on their way to finding some of the ingredients! This part of the story isn't going to follow of the students, but just ones that will be a lot fun! I know it seems silly to do this for an eraser, but it is an ingredient that they need. I like that the riddles are kind of like how it's not straight forward like Ladybug's Lucky Charm! LOL!
Midoriya got Uraraka some chocolates and macarons! Ahhh! IzuOcha!
Oops! Midoriya accidentally broke the cabinet to Marinette's Miracle Box!
On to the next part of the Scavenger Hunt!
More to come soon!
