Pulse bared his fangs at the Hypno.
"Who are you?!" He snarled, preparing himself for an attack. His injured paw hit the ground and he howled with pain, falling over.
When I get my paws on that shiny shitbag I will maim him so bad!
Pulse grumbled with embarrassment.
Hasira giggled, her silver-white tail twitching a little as she sat down, putting a paw over her mouth.
"You'll have to excuse him. He's a little grumpy from getting a broken paw."
"That's fine. I-I was just wondering if you needed help. Oh by the way, you dropped your sword friend." The Hypno commented, pointing with the pendulum still in his paw.
Pulse snarled at him.
The Hypno jerked back in fright.
"Yes. We do. Can you help us?" Hasira questioned the Hypno.
The fact they were going to trust a random Hypno was a sign that Hasira was stupid. The Hypno could easily capture them, or worse.
The Hypno smiled softly. "Of course!" Then his expression changed. "But what happened?"
"It's none of your concern!" Pulse barked, snapping at the air.
Freaked out, the Hypno sprang back.
The Hypno quickly composed himself and just smiled at Pulse.
"You're right. I'm sorry. Curiosity got the better of me. Anyways, may I bring you to my secret base?" The hypnotist suggested.
Secret base?
"Why is it so secret?" Pulse wondered curiously.
The Hypno only snorted. "If I told you right now, it wouldn't be a secret. Some Pokémon could be listening. Anyways, if you would like to follow me, it's this way."
"Fair enough." Harsira remarked.
Pulse's gaze just remained set in the back of the Hypno's head.
There was something odd about this Hypno. Pulse just couldn't wrap his head around it.
If he's a threat, then I will vanquish him. I am a dark type. His psychic type moves won't have any affect on me.
Pulse picked up sword friend.
Hasira, Pulse, and Hypno walked for a bit in the forest.
The Hypno kept glancing back at them.
"So what are your names?" He queried the hound and fox.
"I'm Hasira! And this is my bestest friend in the whole wide world, Pulse. The sword thingy is his other friend, Jabetu. She got injured in a fight." Hasira barked.
Pulse flashed Hasira a warning glare.
Her rambles could get him arrested.
Hasira let out a nervous laugh.
"But that's classified." The shiny continued.
The Hypno only chuckled. "I'm sure it is." He replied.
After about a few minutes of walking and quiet, the Hypno then introduced himself.
"My name is Ulysses."
"Oh." Pulse replied, bored. He didn't care what this Hypno's name was. He wanted to get in and heal and get out as soon as possible.
I also want to get away from this creepy Eevee. He thought as he turned his jet black head towards the bouncy Eevee next to him.
He scowled.
What an overjoyed idiot.
Hasira tried to cuddle up with him.
He gagged as he shoved her away.
"Ew." He remarked with a snarl.
This greatly hurt the Eevee. She turned her head away with a frown.
"Almost there." Ulysses informed them, turning his head and smiling at them friendly.
This feels...like a trap. I know he's helping us, and not all Hypno are going to lure you to their den, but there's something ominous about him. He seems way too happy and too excited to help us. Sus. Pulse thought with an eye on the Hypno.
Eventually they reached a tree with a humble and simple looking home within it.
"Here it is!~" Ulysses cheered, beginning to climb it, indicating with a wave of his paw for Hasira and Pulse to follow him.
Hasira glanced back towards Pulse.
"Well, aren't you coming?" She purred as she began to climb the stairs up to the house.
Be prepared. He told himself as he stepped lightly up the stairs. This Hypno might be up to some tricks. I might have killed my father, but who knows how many he's murdered.
Pulse pried open the door with his injured paw, wincing as pain flared through it.
He gritted his teeth, hissing silently.
He needs to pay for that one.
Pulse's eyes then widened at the abode before him.
It was big. Far bigger than it looked on the outside that's for sure.
Pulse gaped in shock.
"Wow!" Hasira breathed out, her eyes sparkling with wonder at the place.
There was weird paintings everywhere.
Like one where a weirdly colored Makuhita, Swablu, Octillary, Electavire, and a Minccino.
The Makuhita was punching the air.
Something about these paintings made Pulse want to throw up.
There were captions under them.
This one read: 'Phenomenon One-Defeat of the evil Meowth.'
Pulse rolled his eyes.
I doubt that Meowth was evil.
He continued on to the next one.
He wasn't sure if they were in order, but he did know they greatly unsettled him.
Were these just myths or were they real?
This next one had an Eevee with one crazy hairdo. He didn't know what to think.
Besides the Eevee, there was a Cyndaquil looking at him nervously. A Lillipup was on his other side smiling innocently.
A Vulpix was pridefully smiling slightly right next to a Shinx who was frowning, but was staring at the Vulpix.
The caption below read: 'Phenomenon 2- Heroes vs Villains.'
Humph. Certain Pokémon's view of hero and villain is far different than mine. Pulse thought as Ulysses took Jabetu from his jaws.
"I'll just let you two explore my house. I'll go and start helping your friend. Come to me with your paw when you're done. I want to put a splint on it. It's definitely broken." The Hypno told him.
Pulse grunted, and Ulysses took that as a sign that it was okay to take his friend and went to go grab his healing berries and herbs.
Pulse moved on to the next one.
There was a Cyndaquil, Cubone, and a Marowak. There was an awfully cheery face on the Cyndaquil and Marowak.
Pulse's snout wrinkled when looking at the Cyndaquil.
There's something...dark about this character. I can't even tell if it's a boy or a girl.
What stroke him as odd was the Cyndaquil's eyes were somehow more closed in this painting than any other Cyndaquil. Well, the very few he's met in his life. They are rare.
But what set him off even more was the Cubone's blue bone in their paw.
No Cubone I've seen has that!
Underneath it read: 'Phenomenon 3- Determination.'
There was nothing more than that.
What the fuck is that?! Why is it only labeled determination? Pulse wondered with fury as Ulysses came hurrying back with the items in a bag, gently taking Jabetu from Pulse's jaw.
Pulse snarled At the painting, startling the Hypno.
"Why is that labeled determination and no explanation?" Pulse wondered.
The Cyndaquil seemed determined, that's for sure.
Surely that's not what that means? That sounds stupid.
Ulysses shrugged. "No idea. But they look cool, don't they? They're probably just myths." The Hypno informed the Houndour as he approached a bed, placing Jabetu gently on it.
"..."
Pulse had no idea what to say.
These were some strange myths, that's for sure. Not much explanation other than calling them phenomenons.
But what made them phenomenons? What happened to where these Pokémon became such a thing?
No explanation whatsoever.
The next thing that showed up was encased in glass.
This made Pulse wonder if it was special.
Inside it...a lot of strangely colored Pokémon, but the most noticeable was the blue scorbunny with red cheeks.
Under it, it read, 'Phenomenon 4- Metallic Super Powers.'
Pulse shivered.
He didn't like this.
Were these some glorified super heroes, or what was going on?
The next one had a Mewtwo, shiny Spinda, a shiny Medatite, a Cubone, and a Riolu that had a red mask. There were a couple more, but these caught his attention.
The Mewtwo because it was a legendary, the shiny spinda because it held a chestnut and was showing the Mewtwo the chestnut, the shiny medatite because it looked mad for some reason, the Cubone because it was so excited it was hugging as many of the other Pokémon as it could, and the red masked Riolu because it had a red mask. Plus the Riolu seemed really special.
The plaque underneath read: 'Phenomenon 5- Super Heroes.'
Pulse didn't understand why so much was needed on all these, but he supposed it was interesting.
Not that it has any value to me. He thought as he turned to the sixth one.
He stopped, his heart stopping.
He immediately saw an Aegislash.
Jabetu?! He wondered.
Was she going to become a hero?!
No...it was a scene.
The Aegislash was fighting a Seviper with a gun, Roserade, a Smeargle with a mic, a Purugly with a boom box, and a shiny Honchkrow who was staring intently at the Roserade. In the background there was a Magnezone trying to help, but was almost cut out.
What is this? Pulse wondered before gasping.
There was a second Scorbunny.
But this one looked mean, and was yellow-green.
He definitely looks skilled. He's using his fire powers to the max!
Out of all the murals, this one was his favorite. But there was something strange about the Smeargle and the other Pokémon that 'Jabetu' and this Scorbunny were fighting.
Pulse shook his head.
Whatever it's just a myth.
He still decided to read the description.
It read: 'Phenomenon 6- The Power of Song.'
What the fuck?! What powers can songs even have?
Angered by it, he stopped looking at the mural.
He then approached the last one.
This one was much better than the previous one.
Three Pokémon were in it.
A shiny Froslass, a Glalie, and a Dedenne. They seemed like really good friends. They were hugging. Or at least the Dedenne and Froslass were hugging the Glalie.
They all seemed happy either way.
This one was the last one.
It read: 'Phenomenon 7- The Balancers.'
Huh. Balancers? Of what, balls?
Pulse then snickered.
These were some strange myths. That's for sure.
But, he hadn't even heard of any of these, so it made him wonder if Ulyssses was some sort of wizard or something.
He is odd.
Hasira bounced next to him.
"Isn't this place so cool?! I wonder if I will become a legend someday." She yipped.
Pulse tsked at her.
"Oh, Hasira. I doubt you have any worth. If anyone's going to become famous it's me, not you. After all, it's the most scary Pokémon who become legends, not some silly shiny Eevee."
Hasira miserably glanced towards the floor.
"I know, Pulse. Maybe you can help make me a legend!" She squealed.
Pulse groaned.
Does this shitface ever stop?
Pulse began to regret his decision to let her in on the secret.
Before the two could have any more of a conversation, Ulysses approached them.
"I am sorry for the wait. Your friend will need to stay with me to heal. It's actually getting pretty dark. You two should stay as well. Bad Pokémon might come and get you. More and more of them have been showing up as of late." The Hypno informed with a dip of his head.
Pulse snarled.
"You just want us to stay so you can hypnotize us!" He exclaimed.
"What?! I'm sure that's not what's going on! You said it yourself that not all Pokémon who look bad are bad!" Hasira yipped.
Pulse snarled at her.
"Of course, you would say that! You're far too innocent! Why did I even let a loser like you come with me?!"
Hasira gazed at him.
This time, her eyes watered and she ran out of the house, and down the trees.
She deserved it. Pulse thought proudly to himself.
"She...just went out in the night. There could be a bad Pokémon out there who might hurt her. What kind of friend are you? Go after her. I'll watch over your friend. I can also assure you I am not like those Hypno. We have outgrown this...fetish you accuse us of." Ulysses humbly commented, placing a paw on his shoulder.
Pulse snarled.
"I suppose." He commented.
This is to ensure she doesn't tell anyone about what I've told her this day.
With that, Pulse walked out of the house, and down the stairs.
If he had to, he will burn the Hypno if he dare touched Jabetu in any bad way.
