I can't believe this. Why must I do this? If that shiny Eevee can't even handle a few criticisms from me, then how will she even deal with anything else? I mean, I guess I never asked her to join us in our mission—whatever that is, but I assumed she liked me enough to stay.
Pulse hissed as he thumped through the forest.
He wasn't afraid of some 'bad Pokémon.'
They should be afraid of him! That's what he decided.
He could hear the Hoothoot and the night Pokémon in the distance. Or the ones who felt like being nocturnal.
"Hey!" A voice exclaimed in the distance.
They seemed...way too friendly.
Is everyone in this forest an idiot? Pulse wondered as he sped up.
He was praying he would find this shiny bitch before he got really mad.
He just couldn't believe she would run away like that.
It wasn't like he liked her, or even tolerated her, but he just needed her help.
He was sure Paarthurnax would turn their whole class on him and make a villain out of nothing.
It has happened before.
Pokémon always believe the starters.
The more allies he had the better it was in case he needed to start hiding.
Why'd I even kill my father? Maybe...Hasira is a little right, but I'm also right. You don't send your son off to a school because of his looks.
In the distance, Hasira was chatting with two Pokémon who were identical to her.
Well, they're her evolution line.
Close enough.
A Jolteon and a Sylveon.
The Sylveon was male and was definitely in his fifties.
"It's nice to see someone out in this forest. Yes, it's filled with crazy weirdos who want to peck your eyes out, and the Orbeetles aren't too friendly, but I'm glad to see some sign of friendliness out here." The Sylveon yipped, wagging his tail.
That tail wag annoyed the living crap out of Pulse.
He snarled.
There was something...powerful about that Sylveon. He wasn't sure what it was. All he knew was he wanted to kill him. The Jolteon wasn't a big deal, but she was also chatting with Hasira.
Pulse flexed his claws impatiently.
He strut up to the three Pokémon.
"Oh! Hello there, son. Is this Pokémon you're friend, Hasira?" The Sylveon wondered, nodding greeting to Pulse.
The Jolteon next to Sylveon shied away from Pulse, afraid.
It seems she caught on to something the Sylveon couldn't.
Pulse flashed an intimidating smirk.
"Oh...I don't know. Are we friends, Pulse?" Hasira snapped at Pulse.
I'll never get my way if I don't appeal to her, will I?
"Of course we're friends." Pulse lies, swallowing his bile. "I regret telling you such lies. You're a wonderful Pokémon. I'm sorry I didn't realize it sooner."
The Sylveon smiled generously.
"You see, he didn't mean it! He's a nice Pokémon."
Every word the Sylveon used...humble.
Pulse hated it.
But maybe this Sylveon has taught me something through his speech. If I speak in anger all the time, I won't get anywhere. Manipulation. Maybe that's the best way to get to her.
Pulse nodded, pleased.
"Maybe it's because I don't know you as well as I know Jabetu. I am pretty secluded. No one really wants to be my friend because of how I look." Pulse commented, pretending to be sad, looking at the ground.
"Anyways, who are these two?" Pulse wondered, indicating with his paw towards the Jolteon and Sylveon.
I want to know his name so I say his name when he dies in between my claws. Annoying motherfucker.
"Who me?" Sylveon purred as his tail twitched.
"I am Dwight, and this is my daughter. She's Izar. Izar, say hi to Hasira's friend. By the way, we never got you're name." The Sylveon introduced.
Pulse stared back at him intensely.
Izar ducked behind her dad.
She was just a few years younger than Pulse, Jabetu, and Hasira.
"H-Hi." She shyly introduced, avoiding Pulse's gaze.
Dwight smiled. "You must excuse her. She's very shy around strangers. I sometimes wonder if my child's egg was switched with a different one, but I suppose I was a little shy too when I was younger."
The Sylveon's tail was waving around like the flag at Pulse's school.
He was smiling. A lot.
"My name's Pulse. Nice to meet you two. Now, Hasira, can we go back to Ulysses and Jabetu? It's really dark. You're lucky a really dangerous Pokémon wasn't out here." Pulse barked, bending his head to talk to the shiny.
Hasira glanced up at him. Her eyes shone.
"Yeah! There could have been! I'm glad I found these two, though. They're nice!" Hasira barked.
I don't understand it, but I suppose it's better than some weird Pokémon finding her. Though, it's not like I need to care about her health. Maybe I can find a way to trick her into doing my bidding. But how?
"I'm sure, but it's late. Jabetu is back with the Hypno. We need to make sure she's okay." Pulse woofed.
Hasira nodded sadly.
"Can I at least say goodbye to my new friends?"
Pulse grunted.
I mean, you're probably gonna do what you want to do either way.
"Sure. Just don't take too long. I'm getting tired."
That was a lie, but Pulse didn't know how else to hurry her.
He never felt more awake in his entire life.
"I won't take long!" She sang as she turned to her new friends.
"Goodbye, Dwight, Izar. I hope to see you soon. You two live in the forest?"
Pulse wanted to groan.
Of course she would try to drawl the conversation on longer. She was a very chatty Pokemon.
Dwight was still smiling, but shook his head.
"No. We just usually take night walks. Her, me, and her mom. Tonight her mom is sick, so it's just me and her." Dwight explained.
How could anyone want to share this with anyone? Especially a stranger?
But a smile grew on his face.
If I can't convince Pokémon I am a good Pokémon, then why should I pretend to be nice when I've killed someone already? Pulse wondered.
Tonight, he would kill Dwight and his love.
He didn't understand why he wanted to spare Izar, but he supposed it couldn't hurt to leave one.
She could share my name, and then...everyone will have to see. I'll prove that by stating I'm a monster that they've made me become one. It's the perfect plan.
"What kind of Pokémon is she?" Hasira wondered.
"Hurry up." Pulse groaned.
"Oh, I would love to talk some more with you, Hasira, but your friend appears to be impatient. I will tell you she is a beautiful Flareon. It was nice meeting you, and your...friend. Come on, Izar, say goodbye to Pulse and Hasira." Dwight insisted, butting his daughter with his head.
Izar gulped as she stared into the eyes of the monster.
"G-Goodbye, Pulse. It...was...nice...meeting you." Izar struggled, her ears flattening to the back of her head as she tripped, trying to catch up to her father who was already a dot on the horizon.
That's one fast Sylveon.
"Well, we should get going, Pulse. Phew, I'm pooped." Hasira barked as she ran alongside him.
It didn't take long to find the treehouse.
Pulse started to go up the stairs, planning how he would escape without anyone noticing.
He was sure Jabetu wouldn't stop him. That is, if she wasn't unconscious like she's been for the past couple of hours.
Hasira might stop him. She really connected with those strange Eeveelutions.
I'm not even sure about Ulysses. He's an odd fellow. I'm not sure if he's a wizard, or a prophet. I'm not even sure if he's a Hypno at this rate. He's strange, and I don't trust him. I barely trust Hasira as it is.
"Good evening." The Hypno rumbled smoothly, reading a newspaper about the escape of three dangerous Pokémon.
On the cover was a Lillipup, a Gengar, and Ruri.
Startled, Pulse jumped.
Yeah. Definitely odd.
Pulse grunted before asking, "Where are we sleeping?" He got right up in the Hypno's face.
The Hypno seemed alarmed for a second. Not looking up from his paper, however, he pointed to a hallway.
"They're down there. You're friend is in one of them. Come wake me if you need anything. I'll be happy to oblige."
Hasira quickly thanked him, and ran off to bed.
Pulse began to walk the same way, but Ulysses stopped him. He placed his paw on Pulse's shoulder.
Pulse turned around.
"What is it, old man?!" He growled.
"First of all, I'm only 30 years old. That's not old at all. I still have my whole life ahead of me. Secondly, I want you to stay and let me at least wrap your paw up in a sort of bone bandage." Ulysses commented.
Pulse sighed before rolling his eyes and holding out his paw. "If you must." He grunted.
With as much patience as he could muster, Pulse sat down and allowed the Hypno to wrap his paw up with the bandage.
The Hypno was careful, gently swathing his paw with the strong, and capable bandage.
It was silent. Pulse was thankful for that.
This Pokémon—though he may have been weird, knew how to keep quiet when not wanted.
Eventually, the Hypno was done and stood up. "There you go! Now, it's late. I must go to bed. You can stay up later if you want, but please don't go out in that forest. Your friend is lucky she didn't get into any trouble. There's a dangerous Pokémon who lives out there. Anyways, goodnight."
Ulysses' footsteps could be heard thumping on the ground as he approached his room.
Perfect. The only problem I'll have now is finding out where this strange Sylveon lives. Pulse thought as he softly stepped on the ground.
He didn't want Ulysses or Hasira to hear him leave.
But it did make him wonder what was out there.
Who could possibly be out there that could threaten him of all Pokémon.
He scoffed. It wasn't like the Pokémon could beat him.
If anything what Ulysses told him just made him want to kill that creature just to prove it wasn't of real threat.
He made his way to the exit, and for the second time that night he left the odd treehouse.
He didn't know where the two went, but he did know maybe he could find that monster. That monster could help him, another monster to destroy this family.
He walked through the forest, looking for any sign of evil.
The only evil in the forest so far was a Hoothoot shouting, "HAIL GARATINA!"
It was surprising that's for sure, but the Hoothoot quickly quieted down when a rock was thrown by a nearby Aipom trying to sleep in a tree.
The eyes peeking at him in the darkness did make him a bit uneasy, but he put on a brave face and continued.
He looked around. The Pokémon informed him they didn't live in the forest.
There were a few ways out of the forest, but he wasn't sure which area could lead him to these strangers.
He didn't really have any sort of night vision, but he continued onwards.
Eventually, he ran into a Pokémon. Literally.
"Hey! Watch where you're going!" A voice snapped at him.
"Humph. Not my fault you were in my way. I'm looking for a family of Eeveelutions. I'm in a rush." Pulse bluntly informed the stranger.
He was hoping the Pokémon would just show him the way, but instead he got an edgy teen who snapped back at him.
"In your way?! Please! You're in my way. I was just to do something to win over a beautiful Jolteon, and you blocked me!"
This guy is so annoying. I thought that Dwight was annoying, but this Pokémon takes the Pokepuff.
"Humph. Whatever. Just don't get in my way. There's this really annoying Sylveon and his Flareon wife I want to destroy." Pulse snarled.
"Huh?! Wait, you're going to kill that Jolteon?" The voice asked him as a very handsome Absol walked out in front of him.
Yeah. He's definitely annoying.
"I mean, I don't really care about the Jolteon. I was going to leave her to tell my story."
"If that's the case, then let's team up." The Absol suggested.
"My name's Majnun."
Ugh.
"Pulse, now let's go."
I can't believe I'm letting this idiot come with me. He's so annoying and weird.
