SmackDown Filming: July 28, 2009
"I know this is going to sound a little crazy, but maybe I should make up with Michelle." I tell Stephanie.
"Why?" Stephanie asks.
"I know I should feel confident in the Diva Barrage since it's my team and I lead them, but four members of the team were laid out in the fight as well as six members of Team McCool."
"I know, but why do you want to make up with Michelle?"
"It was the original four of the Divas of Domination that stood tall. I know Brie, Kelly, Nikki, and Torrie are my friends, but I need the strongest force I can to take the Insurgents down."
"So you think the four of you can take down all seven of them on your own?"
"I'm counting on the rest of the Divas outside of the Insurgents to have our backs. I'll take whoever stays with us from the Diva Barrage and Team McCool when we join forces to take down the Insurgents."
"But will this work?"
"I hope so."
"You need to make sure this works, Marissa."
"I know, and I will. This whole faction war in the Divas division is getting ridiculous, and it needs to end. I'll be damned if I'll let the Insurgents get away with their betrayal and beat me. I'm not going to let that happen. That's why I need to join forces with Michelle."
Stephanie gives me a concerned look. "Will Michelle want to join forces with you though?"
I nod. "Michelle and I may have had our falling out, but we were best friends for almost five years. We had a lot of bonding over that period of time. I know her. She'll understand what's going on and what I want to do. I think she'll do it."
"For your own sake, Marissa, I hope you're right."
"This is the only chance for help I've got. If I don't take it, I'm missing an opportunity."
"Will the rest of the Diva Barrage be on board with the idea?"
"I'll talk to them. I'll explain what's going on and hope they understand because we all need this to work, Stephanie."
I walk back to the Diva Barrage locker-room while thinking about how I'm going to explain this to the others. I walked in to see my six teammates having what looked like a serious conversation. I look at them curiously. They stop talking and turn to me.
"We were talking and we came to a decision." Brie explains to me.
"About what to do about the Insurgents." Nikki adds.
"What are we doing?" I ask with concern.
"We need to make peace with Team McCool." Kelly tells me.
"We need to reform the entire Divas of Domination, or we'll never beat the Insurgents." Torrie adds. "We all saw what happened last night. It was the four of you that stood tall. We need that."
Maryse gives me a serious look. "I know Michelle betrayed the Divas of Domination, and technically she started all this. Believe me, I understand how angry you are with her, Marissa, and so does Eve. However, you know we need her right now. It doesn't mean she has to be a part of the Divas of Domination again, but we need her to get the Insurgents taken out."
Eve nods. "I agree. I know it's a lot to ask you to bury the hatchet with her, but it can be temporary, Marissa. We need her."
I smile. "I know. I actually was already wanting to make peace with Team McCool, but I was worried about how to tell you guys. I guess I don't have to worry about that now."
"How do we go about making peace with Team McCool?"
"You guys don't need to do anything. I will do it. I'll talk to Michelle. Eve and Maryse are right. Michelle and I need to bury the hatchet at least for now. The only way to do that is for us to talk things out with just the two of us. I want to bring the war to the Insurgents, and I think Michelle will agree. I'll let the rest of you know when you're needed. I'm going to go find Michelle now." I say before leaving the locker-room on a mission to finish this.
I walked all the way to the other side of the backstage area of the arena to find Team McCool's locker-room. I wait for a few minutes nervously before I finally knock on the door; Layla opens it. She looks at me confused.
"Is Michelle here?" I ask with a bit of anxiousness.
Michelle makes her way to the door. "Yeah?"
"Can we talk, preferably alone?"
"Um...sure."
Michelle walks outside and shuts the door. "Is something up?"
I look down at the floor. "I'm sorry."
"For what? I'm the one who started all the issues between us."
"But you had a point. I do tend to hog up the spotlight sometimes."
"No, you don't. You earned all of the spotlight you get. If anyone knows who much you've busted your ass for the past five years, it's me."
"But I should've shared it. You've busted your ass for just as long."
"You didn't have to. You are the strongest opponent I ever fought. I had to use brass knuckles to beat you at The Bash, and that victory at Night of Champions...you earned it. I'm the one who should be sorry, and I am. I'm sincerely sorry. I was jealous of how great of wrestler you are, and I shouldn't have attacked you and the others. I let jealousy get the best of me. I'm sorry. Can we be friends, or at least allies, again?"
"Yes. I want to have the Divas of Domination be all four of us again, me, Maryse, Eve, and you. Plus, I miss having you around. We need to unite, and we need keep the Divas outside the Insurgents together. An alliance between Team McCool and the Diva Barrage is needed. We'll just need to keep it on the down-low, so the Insurgents don't know yet."
"You know...I think it would be better to take the war to them."
"I told them the Diva Barrage would agree with me that we should take the war to the Insurgents."
"Then, I know how to let them know. We know Morgan will join them when I announce the alliance because she doesn't care for you, and so would Rosa, Jillian, and Katie Lea. That leaves Layla and Alicia, but I know they'll be loyal. Is your whole group on board with this?"
"They are."
"Good, we'll need the numbers."
I extend my hand. "Let the war begin."
Michelle shakes my hand. "Let the war begin."
"The Diva Barrage and the three remaining members of Team McCool want to bring a war. Well, you want a war...you've got a war!" Melina exclaims as she's in the ring with Mickie.
"But we are issuing a challenge to you." Mickie adds. "Melina and I want Michelle and Marissa at SummerSlam...in the first ever Divas Tag Team Tables match!"
You're not enough for me (Oh no no)
Just another man in love with me (Just another man ooh)
Gotta open up your eyes and see (hey, hey Oh well)
You're not enough for me (oh no)...
Michelle and I walk out.
"We accept, but we have one condition. We don't want a Tables match. We want a TLC match!" Michelle tells Mickie and Melina.
"You're on!" Mickie responds.
I smile. "Be ready to be put through hell."
Melina rolls her eyes. "You two will be the ones being put through hell."
"I don't think so. You see, you two might think this whole big grand scheme of betraying both Michelle and I and making your own faction would work, but you two have no clue what you've gotten yourselves into."
"The Divas of Domination was composed of the four best Divas this company has to offer, and make no mistake, ladies, we're all back on the same page." Michelle adds.
Mickie shrugs. "So? We know how to work together too."
"You two might be teammates now, but the Divas of Domination is a unit. You two still have kinks to work out, and at SummerSlam, Marissa and I are going to exploit the kinks and beat you. Then, we're gonna take out the Insurgents once and for all. This is a Divas of Domination reunion, and we're coming for the Insurgents." Michelle drops her microphone while glaring at Mickie and Melina.
Melina narrows her eyes. "We'd like to see you try."
The rest of us drop our microphones and glare at each other. Mickie holds up her Divas Championship, so I hold up my Women's Championship in response.
The fans were going to see quite the war at SummerSlam.
