Chapter 65 Music Night (Music to Soothe the Savage Beast)
A.N. – Nothing much to say about this. Let's jump in.
Short Summary – Aelita's big night has arrived. Unfortunately for her, Xana doesn't stop his grand plans and the Lyoko warriors must save their rising star from Xana and A's clutches.

A sat in the volcano replica crater area waiting for Xana to give the call. Since she didn't know what time it was, all of Xana's attacks were a waiting game. A had plans to go to Aelita's concert with the help of her Lyoko band, but she remembered that Xana attacked her on that night. The attack had to end before she could go. Unfortunately for her current self, it was not much better.
Aelita's Point of View
Class was beginning for the day. On the outside, Aelita put on a normal face, but on the inside she was a nervous wreck. She would not only perform in front of her friends, classmates, and the band, but also a bunch of total strangers as well. She wished A would be there to see her, but at this time was not the best with her being allied to Xana. Aelita had never felt this much pressure in her life. The bell rang and class dismissed. Aelita watches Jeremy leave.
"Aren't you coming to lunch Jeremy?" She asks curiously.
"No, I came up with a brand-new program that should help us locate new replicas. I have just one or two more calculations to work out. See you later!" He walks off with a wave.
"I'll see you later too," Odd runs off. "I've got, uh, an important errand to run!"
"Subdigitals. I liked them better as the Subsonics" Ulrich says.
"I like their name" Aelita comments to him.
"Well, Aelita, set for the big night?" Yumi walks up to her.
"Don't even talk about it, I'm so scared!"
"Welcome to stardom! Listen to this," Yumi has a copy of the Kadic News, "In our next issue, an exclusive interview with Aelita Stones, Kadic's brightest new star. Did you know about this?"
"Milly and Tamiya haven't stopped hassling me for over a week for that interview," Aelita rolls her eyes. "But I didn't promise them one."
"You know what those two are like. Always looking for a little gossip" Ulrich smiles a little.
"Aren't they always. I never read an issue where there wasn't at least one rumor in it" William adds.
"Forget about that stuff," Yumi winks at her. "Think about the concert."
"Whenever I do, I get major butterflies in my stomach," Aelita looks at her soda can. "I wish I could stop thinking about it. If I could just get my mind off it for a little while. I'll go and see if Jeremy needs any help with his calculations. See you later."
Aelita arrives in the hall, approaching Jeremy's door. "Aelita!" Nicolas and Herb approach her. "Hey, we've been looking all over for you!"
"Yeah, we have. Would you give us your autograph?" Herb holds out his copy of the newspaper.
"Please Aelita."
"Um, uhh…" She blushes out of embarrassment over the question. Herb gets smacked on the head by Sissi.
"OW!"
"You dorks! Can't you see she's just dying to?" She scolds them.
"But-" Aelita tries to defend herself.
"I'm onto you. Mrs. Einstein thinks she's a big star now that she's a cover girl for a magazine." She holds up the cover as Aelita is giving a bashful smile to the camera.
"I didn't know anything about-"
"Everyone knows that I should've been picked to play the opening act of the concert. And you're bound to make a total fool of yourself tonight! Huh, can't wait to see that."
"Well Sissi, you will be watching from the audience cause it's Aelita who's performing and not you" Nicolas says to her. She responds by smacking him with the paper. "Ouch!" Sissi storms off.
Aelita arrives at Jeremy's room and knocks. "Come in" Jeremy calls out, focused on his computer. She opens up the door.
"Am I disturbing you Jeremy?" Aelita asks.
"I just finished running my initial calculations," Jeremy looks over his shoulder. "Thanks to my program, we'll be able to find the last replicas with no problem."
She takes a seat on his bed, sighing a bit. "Oh, that's great. Um…uh, say Jeremy, about tonight-"
"Oh right!" The concert!" Jeremy interrupts. "I bet you can't wait to get on stage!"
"Umm, not really," she looks to the ground. "When I'm alone at my mixing table, I'm fine…but in a huge auditorium…"
"You'll be great Aelita," he removes his glasses to wipe them off. "Don't worry about it. What's more, Yumi, William, and Odd will be there cheering you on."
He turns around and she blinks in confusion. She finds it weird that he didn't mention himself. "And what about you?"
"Uhh, I gotta wait until the calculations finish running, and then I've got a couple things to do, and…so, I might be a little late. But I promise to come as soon as I'm done."
"As soon as you're done?! I'm dying of stage freight, and all you can say is that you're going to be late to my concert?"
"No, um…" He looks at her nervously. "That isn't exactly what I meant. I meant to say that…if it's really that important to you, well then…"
"Important?!" Aelita was mad now. "I'm standing here telling you I may not be able to do it. Isn't that important enough for you?!" She digs into her backpack. "Here's your invitation." She drops the ticket onto the bed. "You can always give it to someone else if you don't find the time to come."
And with that, she leaves the room, slamming the door. He looks over to the ticket…
She leans her back against the door in the hall, trying not to cry.
"Oh, there you are," Aelita steps up to them. "I came to give you your tickets for tonight." Aelita places the tickets on the table.
"What's wrong?" Yumi asks, seeing her face.
"Oh, it's nothing," Aelita blushes in embarrassment. "It's…its' on account of Jeremy."
"Einstein wins another first prize of diplomacy?" Odd asks knowingly, causing Aelita to smile a bit.
"Yeah, I guess you might say that."
"Relax princess. You'll bring the house down tonight" Ulrich speaks up.
"Yeah, you'll open, they'll finish, and you'll be a star" William adds.
"For sure" Yumi gives a thumbs up.
"Yeah!" Odd chimes in.
"Anyway, don't get there too late, the crowds gonna be really big" Aelita tells them.
Later that night, Aelita is in her dressing room, when she hears a knock on the door and her three friends peek in. "Surprise!" They all holler.
"We came to see our favorite star before she gets too famous to see us" Odd quips as Aelita applies blush.
"Don't be so silly. I'm really glad to see you all," Aelita responds to him. "Uh, didn't Jeremy come?" Aelita notices he's missing.
"He did, but we lost him in the crowd" Ulrich tells her.
"Yeah, he said he was going to see you perform on stage no matter what" William says.
"You know Einstein. Always early for class, late for everything else!" Odd adds.
"Don't worry, he'll be out there listening and cheering you on" Yumi smiles at her.
"I hope so…" Aelita frowns a bit. It means a lot to her especially if Jeremy is really out there…
"Aelita, you're on in 5 minutes" Sophie calls out.
"Time for me to start concentrating."
"Okay then, we'll take off," Yumi announces as the boys leave first. "You look beautiful tonight. You're gonna knock 'em out." Yumi winks at her before closing the door.
The door knocks again, Milly and Tamiya peeking in.
"Aelita, can we ask you a couple of questions for the Kadic News?" Milly asks her.
"Not now," Aelita looks over her shoulder. "You couldn't have picked a worse time."
Sophie then comes in. "Aelita, you're on in just two minutes. I'm afraid you'll have to leave now girls."
A few moments later, Sophie comes back. "Sophie, I'm ready" Aelita tells her.
"So am I" she responds as her eyes reveal the sign of Xana, and her vision goes black.
A's Point of View
A is on top of a mountain and sees the activated tower in the distance. She waits till Aelita arrives to deliver her to Xana. Finally, she sees her materialize in the sky and then land. A kankerlot and a blok arrive to block her way. A eyes them as she confronts them. Aelita activates her wings and then takes flight. "Not this time. Manta!" A manta rises. "Stop her!" The manta flies towards her and fires at her, disabling her flight. She then tries to make a straight dash for the tower. A just watches in amusement. A activates her wings and flies to her. "Hey Aelita. Happy to see me?" A says as she grabs her in a hug.
"Jeremy, it's A!" Aelita screams.
"I see Aelita. The others are coming" Jeremy reports.
A does a dive bomb to the digital sea. A fan slices her wrist, and she loses grip on Aelita. Aelita lands on a platform close to her. A flies back up and sees Yumi catch her fan. A flies towards the two, forming two energy orbs. She fires both as she flies past the duo. A looks back to see they avoided her energy orbs. She ten turns around and pursues Yumi. Yumi turns around and flies directly at her. She throws her fan. A bends backwards to avoid it. Yumi then flies through a tunnel. A goes around to the other side. She sees Yumi watching the exit, waiting for A.
"Surprise!" A says as she ambushes Yumi.
Yumi barely avoids her. A quickly fires an orb, which Odd blocks with his shield. Odd fires and arrow and it hits one of A's wings and she starts to lose altitude. A rises and sees them without their vehicles. "Trouble back at home huh?" A says as she flies above them. She flies after them as they run away. Odd and Yumi uses a move that allows Yumi to be thrown A. They both fall and A draws her saber. "Time for you to go home." She slashes her.
"For you too" Yumi tells her as her fans hit A from behind.
Aelita's Point of View
Aelita slowly gets back onto the platform. The manta fires at Aelita and knocks back to the edge. Her energy field shield disappears. "Oh no!"
The manta explodes in her face. She looks to see Odd from down below. "Your tower awaits princess!" He yells from down below.
Aelita activates her wings and flies to the tower running inside. She reaches the middle and flies towards the top. Aelita does a flip before reaching the top. She slowly walks up to the interface, pressing her hand against it.

"Tower deactivated" Aelita declares. The screens fall and time is reset.
The time is reversed to just before Aelita is due to perform. A knock is heard.
"Come in" Aelita says.
Jeremy opens the door. "I, uh, wanted to see how you were doing Aelita."
"Well, I have less stage fright, but I guess it's because I've already been here, if you know what I mean."
"No way I was going to miss the concert for the second time."
"You know, I…I didn't mean to blow up at you like that. I put too much pressure on myself. Maybe it was insane to wanna do this concert."
"Aelita…sometimes the sanest thing is to be insane."
A's Point of View
A appeared in front of the theater and was about to go see her current self perform. She was suddenly stopped by a woman. "Excuse me miss?" A turned around to see a familiar face. It was the woman she saved a while back. Only difference was she was pregnant. "Do you remember me?"
"Yeah, I saved you a while back. How are you doing since then?" A asks.
"Much better. Found someone who can protect me like you did. And if you hadn't noticed, it blossomed into something more." She motioned towards her belly.
A felt a little heartbroken. She had no kids of her own and never would. She was hoping she could possibly change it, but she gad to stick out this deal with Xana so the warriors could live a normal life with a happy future. "Well congratulations. I'm happy to see that my actions have not gone to waste."
"You sound like you did some bad things?"
"I guess you could say that. But-"
"You feel obligated to do them?"
"I guess so. If I don't, terrible things are gonna happen."
"I know you will do the right thing. You're not a bad person at heart. No matter what you think or what people say. If you weren't, you wouldn't have done what you did that night."
A looked down at her Lyoko band and thought this could be her way out. She wasn't bound to Xana and the time when William was freed is nearing. "Well, it was nice seeing you again. I gotta go catch a show."
"Oh sorry. I didn't mean to keep you. I just wanted to say thank you again."
"No problem." A headed into the theater.
Aelita's Point of View
"And now, let's put it together for a brand-new DJ, Aelita Stones!" The announcer states.
The crowd cheers, along with the whole gang of Lyoko Warriors. Aelita starts her mix. The spotlights flicker on her and the band and Sophie watch. Chris gives Sophie a thumbs up and she smiles. Everyone is dancing, except William. Even Sissi is dancing. Aelita got over the stage fright and prepared everyone for the rest of the concert. Aelita opened her eyes for a bit to see the crowd and in the back she saw some pink hair similar to her own. It was A and she smiled giving her a thumbs up. Aelita was confused and though she was just a hallucination. She didn't know it was the real A she just saw.
A.N. – A little foreshadowing of how Down to Earth's ending will play out which will come in two weeks. Yes, two weeks, cause next up is Cold Sweat. The plot will remain the same. It's Down to Earth that will have a completely different Lyoko and Earth scene. Also, Xana's newest monster, the Kolossus arrives! PM me with story ideas! Review with questions or comments!
