Thanksgiving: November 26, 2009
"I really like that one, Elaine." Michelle tells Elaine as I walk into Randy's parents' house.
"That's one of my favorites." Elaine tells Michelle.
"Is that Ted and Cody?"
"Elaine…" I say as I shut the door behind me. "Are you showing Chelle childhood pictures?"
"I am." Elaine tells me with a smile. "And yes, Michelle, that's Ted and Cody."
"This might embarrass Randy, but I want to look too."
I sit down on the couch with them to look at the pictures.
Randy walks inside the house and looks at us. "It's childhood pictures, isn't it?"
"It is, babe." I smirk at Randy. "It is."
"Really, Mom?"
"Really, Randal." Elaine comments with a laugh.
"Is Becky on her way yet?"
"Yes, she'll be here soon."
"Good, I want food."
I gave Randy a serious look. "Randy, you could be a bit patient. I know you lack much patience but still."
"Rissa...let's not start this."
"What are you going to do about it, Randal?"
"Many things, Marissa." Randy picks me up off the couch.
"Randy!"
Randy cuts me off with a kiss. I returned the kiss.
"PDA!" Randy's brother, Nathan, shouts as he walks inside the house with John and Bob.
"Oh my gosh, Nate." John rolls his eyes. "If you're gonna complain, I'll go kiss my wife."
"And I will kiss your mother." Bob adds.
"Really, you guys?" Nathan asks. "This is ridiculous."
"Nate, just shut up and grow up." My brother, Tyler, tells Nathan as he and my cousin, Kenny, enter the room.
Randy and I chuckle. Nathan sends us a dirty look.
As Randy is about to say something in response to Nathan, their sister, Becky enters the house. "I'm here. Let's eat."
"Took you long enough." Randy mutters.
Becky rolls her eyes. "Nice to see you too, Randy."
As we walk over to eat our Thanksgiving dinner, Randy whispers something to Becky, and she smacks Nathan.
"Dad!" Nathan says. "Mom!"
Elaine and Bob look at each other and start laughing. We start eating and chatting.
"This is a really good meal, Elaine." I comment.
"Mrs. Orton always makes the best dinners." John adds.
"Don't let your mother hear that though." Michelle tells John.
"How is your family, John?" Tyler asks.
"Oh you know, crazy as always." John replies with a laugh.
"I don't think any of you Cena boys are as crazy as Nathan and Randy though." Bob comments.
"Orton boys are insane." Kenny adds with a smirk.
"So are you Smith boys." Randy narrowed his eyes. "And the McMahon family is even worse...all of them."
"Not arguing with that." I mutter.
"I was including you too, sweetheart."
"Randal!" Elaine scolds. "Don't call your girlfriend crazy!"
"Elaine," I laugh. "It's okay. I call myself crazy."
"Are you sure I don't need to smack him? I raised him better than that."
"If I was upset, I would've made it clear. Randy wouldn't try
"I have a reason for you to smack him." Michelle tells Elaine.
"What is it?"
"Randy paid Ted to dress up as the clown from It and hide in my hotel room to scare me."
Elaine smacks Randy, and we finish eating. We then get ready to go home, but Samantha runs in before we can. She has Al with her.
"I'm so sorry for showing up suddenly, but Al really wanted to see her dad." Samantha tells everyone.
I glance over at Randy. He's already playing with Al. She suddenly sees John and screams.
"Uncle John!" Al runs over to John.
Randy looks at me. "Did I just lose my child to John?"
I laugh. "Yeah, but give it time. She's young. She'll get over running to John when she grows up a little. You'll always be her dad. Plus, we both know in a few minutes, she's gonna run back to you anyway."
"You make a good point."
Randy and I were back home, sitting in the living room. John and Michelle were here too, but they'd both already gone to the guest room that they were sleeping in.
"I can tell this stuff at work is still bothering you a lot." I whisper to Randy.
"It's bothering you too." Randy pulls me closer. "You're just a little better at hiding it."
"Yeah, but I think you're doing worse than I am. Even seeing your daughter didn't completely make your mood better. I mean it improved, but you were still noticeably upset."
"I know. You're right that I really do need to finish this shit with Kane. We've been worrying about his shit since SummerSlam. It's been months. It's affecting how much I can enjoy time with my family now. Enough is enough."
"Exactly, maybe it's time for us to scheme a little when it comes to dealing with Kane."
"Scheme a little?"
"Yes, let's not sit here and act like either of us are past scheming to get what we want at work."
"I know, but it'll be hard. We can't use the guest host. It's Mark Cuban next week. We have history. He won't do anything for me."
"I'm aware. I know you hit with an RKO once. I didn't plan on needing a guest host to help us anyway."
"What exactly do you have in mind?"
"Well, how comfortable are you with using me as bait?"
"Using you as bait? Rissa…"
"I know. It's Kane, but do you really want to wait until TLC to get to him? It's still over two weeks away."
"I'm very reluctant to agree to this."
"I know, but he won't even get much of a chance to touch me. We both know he'll jump at a chance to come after me again. You can be ready to jump him. Hell, bring Ted and Cody too if you want. You get your hands on him early and can soften him up before your match at TLC."
Randy shakes his head. "Can I have some time to think about it before agreeing or not?"
"Take some time to think about it, Randy."
