A young child, Olive, wakes up in the middle of the night to a loud sound. Everything gets worse from there. "You better hold onto to your brains kid, cause that Sunflower isn't taking Prisoners, and neither are the Zombies outside. So, struggle and survive, cause no one will be there to mourn your death if you die."-CD (a PvZ horror comedy, with a heavy dash of mystery mixed-in)

Chapter 4: Packet Up and Go

The plastic package has a green border frame, white interior, and has the image of a plant in the middle. It's a Seed Package. Just one thing is off…

"What is it?"

Have you ever seen a plant that looks like a giant nut with a face?

"Uhm… no?"

Oh, there's writing on the back. Just a second. Walnut, for all your defending needs. Too many zombies in your face? Plants not surviving to make a difference? Use Walnut today! Is it a wall? No! It's a Nut! Attack 0, Defense 6, Cost 50. Each package comes with a whopping 6 Walnuts! Plant Wherever Your Heart Desires! What is this? It doesn't even say how to plant them?

"Uh. Sunny?"

And what does Cost 50 mean? Like, is one seed packet 50 bucks or something. That way too overpriced for a glorified giant nut! Is it edible? Would that be considered cannibalism? Is this a scam?

"S-Sunny?"

I mean, it's essentially highway robbery at this point! And why do they just talk about zombies like it's a normal thing. Is it a normal thing? Are zombies just a normal thing in this world?

"S-S-Sunny! The door!"

Huh? What are you-

A heavy th-thud sound echoes from the door, as if someone were to slam their fists against the door one after the other, and a low moaning sound slips through its cracks. Again and Again, the th-thuds slam against the door, causing the thick wood to begin to bend and crack.

Oh. Quick! We need to barricade the door!

"W-with what?"

The Sunflower glances left and right. The small cupboard comes to mind.

That! Can you move that?

"I- I can try!"

Carefully, the kid places the Sunflower down and runs over to the cupboard, still spilling with winter clothing. However, try as they might, the small child fails to make the cupboard budge even an inch.

"I-It won't move!"

The glass window on the door shatters, and a deep gurgling sound seeps in from outside. With another quick glance around, the eyes of the Sunflower finally land on the seed packet in her hands. With a quick flourish of her leaves she tore- I mean, with a quick bite and tear she opened- I said with ease she opened the-

OPEN UP ALREADY!

The seed packet slips out of the Sunflower's grip as small hands reach out and pluck it. With ease the kid tears open the stupid packet and NO I'M NOT JEALOUS.

Gimme that.

A leaf quickly reaches in and grabs at the seeds inside the packet, and with a smooth flourish, 5 seeds fly at the door.

…

Where they bounce off harmlessly and do literally nothing.

The door breaks down a few seconds later. Reduced to nothing but wooden shrapnel as two zombies tumble through with wide eyes filled with surprise. With surprising initiative, the kid reaches down, grabs the potted plant and books it further into the house.

The zombies, quickly recovering from their tumble, rise to give chase. Empty white eyes glowing in the darkness.
