For the remainder of Stolas's visit, he made a special request for Blitzo to be the security detail assigned to him and his daughter, Octavia. This request, though unconventional, was met with a mixture of amusement and curiosity by Husker. Blitzo, ever the professional, accepted the assignment with a mixture of pride and trepidation. It wasn't every day that an imp was asked to protect royalty.

Loona, Blitzo's ten-year-old adopted daughter, practically joined Stolas and Octavia on their vacation. The bond that had quickly formed between Loona and Octavia was heartwarming to see. The two young girls were inseparable, their laughter and excitement filling the resort with a joyful energy that was infectious. Octavia loved having her new friend around, and Loona, often solitary and guarded, seemed to blossom in the presence of her newfound companion.

Stolas was over the moon. His daughter's happiness was paramount, and seeing Octavia so thrilled and engaged brought a warmth to his heart that he hadn't felt in a long time. More than that, though, Stolas found himself delighting in Blitzo's company. The imp had reignited something in Stolas that he thought he had lost – a sense of genuine connection and the thrill of companionship.

Their days were filled with a whirlwind of activities. They spent hours lounging by the luxurious pool, where Blitzo and Stolas would engage in friendly competitions, from diving contests to seeing who could float the longest. The poolside atmosphere was one of relaxation and fun, with the girls splashing around and the adults enjoying the sun and each other's company.

Lunches were always an exciting affair, usually at the Roulette Table, the resort's premier dining spot. The restaurant was themed around the thrill of the casino, with spinning wheels and dice adding to the atmosphere. The food was exquisite, and the company even better. Stolas and Blitzo would often find themselves lost in conversation, their differences in status forgotten as they shared stories and laughter over delicious meals.

Nights were reserved for The Lucky Draw, a cozy lounge where the four of them enjoyed musical performances. The intimate setting allowed them to unwind and appreciate the talents of various performers. Stolas and Blitzo would sometimes find themselves dancing together, their movements graceful and in sync, much to the delight of Loona and Octavia, who would cheer them on from their seats.

One of the highlights of their time together was the shopping sprees at All-In Attire, the resort's high-end boutique. Stolas, ever the doting father and friend, delighted in spoiling the girls. Loona and Octavia would flit around the store, their arms filled with clothes and accessories. Blitzo, however, couldn't help but protest when Stolas started buying out almost the entire store for Loona.

"Stolas, you don't have to buy everything!" Blitzo exclaimed, half-laughing, half-exasperated.

Stolas turned to him with wide, pleading eyes, and was soon joined by Octavia and Loona, both giving their best puppy dog looks. "But, Blitzy," Stolas began, his voice dripping with charm, "they look so happy! How can we deny them?"

Blitzo sighed, unable to resist their combined efforts. "Fine, fine. But just this once," he relented, his stern facade melting into a fond smile.

The rest of their vacation was a blur of joy and laughter. Every moment spent together seemed to strengthen the bond between them. Stolas, who had always been somewhat aloof due to his royal status, found himself opening up in ways he never thought possible. Blitzo, with his rough exterior and surprising depth, became someone he cherished deeply.

One evening, as the sun set and the resort was bathed in a warm, golden glow, Stolas found himself alone with Blitzo on a quiet balcony overlooking the lake. The air was cool, and the sounds of the resort seemed distant and muted. Stolas turned to Blitzo, his eyes reflecting the myriads of emotions he had kept bottled up.

"Blitzo," he began, his voice soft and earnest, "I want to thank you. Not just for protecting us, but for being here. For being you."

Blitzo looked at him, surprised but touched. "Hey, it's no big deal. I'm just doing my job."

"No," Stolas insisted, stepping closer. "It's more than that. You've made this trip... special. For Via and for me. I feel... alive again. Because of you."

Blitzo felt a blush creeping up his neck. He wasn't used to such heartfelt gratitude. "I'm glad, Stolas. Really. You and Via deserve to be happy."

After Stolas thanked Blitzo, Blitzo knew he had to do something hard; he had to apologize to Stolas. He took a deep breath, feeling the weight of the moment. "Stolas, there's something I need to tell you," Blitzo began, his voice uncharacteristically soft and serious.

Stolas looked at him with a mix of curiosity and concern. "What is it, Blitzo?"

Blitzo glanced away for a moment, gathering his thoughts before he spoke. "I've been working here at The Cat's Den for about a year now. In that time, I've been trying to be a better person. Part of that has been facing my past, facing the things I've done and the people I've hurt. And, well... you're one of those people."

Stolas tilted his head, his eyes searching Blitzo's face. "I'm not sure I understand."

Blitzo sighed and looked directly into Stolas's eyes. "You might not remember me, but I remember you. I was the imp that King Paimos bought for you. My father... he threatened my sister and mother if I didn't steal from you. I'm sorry for what I did. It was wrong, and I know that now. I wanted to apologize to you, Stolas."

Stolas's eyes widened in shock and horror. Tears welled up as the realization hit him. "My father bought you? That's... that's monstrous!" He paused, taking in Blitzo's words, his eyes filled with regret. "I'm so sorry, Blitzo. I never knew. I never wanted that. I just... I saw you perform on stage, and you were so bright, so full of life. I just wanted to spend time with you. I never meant for you to be bought. That's inhumane!"

Blitzo was taken aback. He hadn't known that anyone enjoyed his performances, especially not someone like Stolas. "You liked my performances?" he asked, disbelief and a touch of wonder in his voice. "It was always Fizz who got all the attention."

Stolas nodded, wiping away his tears. "Yes, Blitzo. You were incredible. You have a light, a spark that's hard to ignore."

Blitzo blushed, feeling an unfamiliar warmth in his chest. "I had no idea. I'm... I'm sorry for what I did. But if you don't blame me, then I won't blame you."

Stolas gave a small, sad chuckle. "Agreed. Let's start over, shall we?"

They spent the next hour talking, sharing stories and experiences. Blitzo opened up about his struggles, his therapy sessions, and his desire to be a better father to Loona. Stolas listened intently, finding comfort in Blitzo's honesty and vulnerability. As they talked, Stolas began to realize that maybe he, too, needed to face his past. The abuse he had suffered under Stella had left deep scars, and perhaps therapy could help him heal, just as it was helping Blitzo.

"Blitzo," Stolas said after a while, his voice thoughtful, "listening to you, I think... I think I might need to consider therapy too. I've been through a lot with Stella, and maybe it's time I dealt with it."

Blitzo smiled, a genuine, warm smile that reached his eyes. "It's not easy, but it's worth it."

Stolas nodded, feeling a sense of hope he hadn't felt in years. "Thank you, Blitzo. For everything."

Blitzo just nodded, feeling a strange sense of peace wash over him. For the first time in a long time, he felt like he was truly on the path to healing. And maybe, just maybe, he and Stolas could help each other along the way. Blitzo and Stolas parted ways when the moon rose high in the sky. The two of them had daughters to tuck into bed and take care of. Luckily, they were meeting tomorrow for a very important day.

The next day found Blitzo standing at the edge of the minigolf course, surveying the decorations with a critical eye. He wanted everything to be perfect for Loona's birthday. It wasn't just her eleventh birthday; it was also a celebration of their first year together, a year since they had found a real home at The Cat's Den. Balloons in various shades of purple and black, Loona's favorite colors, fluttered in the breeze. A large banner that read "Happy Birthday Loona!" hung over the entrance, and tables were laden with snacks, treats, and a towering cake decorated with little hellhound figurines.

Blitzo felt a swell of pride and a tinge of anxiety. He was good at planning parties, but he had poured his heart into this one. He wanted Loona to feel special, to know how much she was loved. As he adjusted the placement of a few more decorations, he heard the sound of approaching footsteps.

Stolas was dressed in his usual regal attire, but there was a softness to his demeanor as he approached Blitzo. Octavia, on the other hand, was practically bouncing with excitement, her eyes shining as she took in the elaborate decorations.

"Blitzo, this looks wonderful," Stolas said, his voice warm and genuine. He placed a hand on Blitzo's shoulder, and Blitzo turned to face him, feeling a blush creep up his neck. "You've outdone yourself."

Blitzo shrugged, trying to play it cool. "Yeah, well, it's Loona's day. She deserves the best."

Stolas nodded, his eyes softening as he watched his daughter join Loona and the other pups. "She does. And you've done an amazing job."

"Happy birthday, Loona!" Octavia exclaimed, handing Loona a beautifully wrapped present.

Loona's eyes lit up as she tore open the wrapping paper, revealing a beginner's grimoire. She looked up at Stolas in surprise. "What's this?"

Stolas smiled warmly. "I've noticed you have a great latent magical ability, Loona. More than the average hellhound. This is a grimoire for beginners, it will help you explore and develop those abilities. It's a gift, not just for your birthday, but to celebrate the remarkable person you're becoming."

Loona's eyes filled with tears as she hugged the book to her chest. "Thank you, Prince Stolas. This means a lot."

Blitzo watched the exchange with a lump in his throat. He had always known Loona was special, but seeing someone else recognize her potential made him swell with pride.

The party soon kicked into full gear. The minigolf course was alive with laughter and shouts of excitement as hellhound pups and imp children ran around, playing and enjoying themselves. Cannibal children, oddly enough, were quite well-behaved, indulging in the games and snacks without causing any mayhem. Well, no more than any other child of Hell.

Stolas and Blitzo eventually joined the children at the Pit Boss Putters, they each grabbed a brightly colored putter and a ball, ready to dive into the fun. "Alright, Stolas, let's see what you've got," Blitzo challenged, smirking as he lined up his first shot. Stolas, with a determined look, mimicked Blitzo's stance.

The first hole was deceptively simple: a straight path leading to a hole guarded by a spinning blade. Blitzo went first, striking the ball with more force than necessary. It ricocheted off the walls and fell into a pit of bubbling lava. The children burst into laughter, and Blitzo couldn't help but laugh at himself.

"Nice try, Blitzy," Stolas teased, lining up his shot with an air of exaggerated seriousness. He tapped the ball gently, but it got caught by the spinning blade and split in half, both halves rolling away in different directions. The kids laughed even harder, and Stolas chuckled along with them, his cheeks turning a bit pink.

For the next few holes, the competition between Blitzo and Stolas became even more ridiculous. At one hole, Blitzo's ball got snatched up by a mechanical claw and tossed into a pit. At another, Stolas's ball was flung off course by a sudden burst of air, landing in a pool of sludge. Every time they missed, or their balls met some hilarious fate, the children roared with laughter, and even Loona couldn't hide her amusement.

Despite their failures, both adults were having the time of their lives. Stolas, usually so composed and dignified, was now goofing around, feathers puffed in excitement. He hooted in delight every time he took a shot, no matter how badly it went. Blitzo, always so focused on his responsibilities, allowed himself to relax and enjoy the chaos. His usual confident smirk softened into genuine, carefree laughter.

At one point, Blitzo tried to show off with a trick shot, only for the ball to bounce off a series of bumpers and land right back at his feet. "Well, that was embarrassing," he admitted, scratching the back of his head. Stolas, trying to suppress his laughter, nodded in agreement.

"Alright, your turn, Stolas. Let's see if you can do better," Blitzo said, handing over the putter. Stolas took it with a playful glint in his eyes. He swung and missed the ball entirely, the putter flying out of his hands and landing in a nearby sand trap. Both of them dissolved into fits of laughter, barely able to stand.

The children, watching their antics, cheered and jeered in good-natured fun. Loona and Octavia, now best friends, cheered for both their dads, finding immense joy in seeing them so happy and carefree.

By the end of the game, neither Blitzo nor Stolas had managed to score a single point. Their balls were either lost, destroyed, or stuck in impossible places. But it didn't matter. They had a blast, acting like kids themselves and relishing in the simple pleasure of having fun without a care in the world.

The party continued with games, laughter, and an endless supply of snacks. Blitzo had arranged for a magician to entertain the kids, and they watched in awe as he performed tricks and illusions. There was even a small stage where some of the more adventurous imps and hellhound pups put on impromptu performances, much to the delight of the crowd. Meanwhile, Blitzo and Stolas sat down on a nearby bench, catching their breath. The children were still playing, filled with endless energy, their laughter echoing through the air.

"That was... one of the best days I've had in a long time," Stolas admitted, his voice soft with emotion.

"Yeah," Blitzo agreed, a genuine smile on his face. "It's been great. Really great."

For a moment, they sat in comfortable silence, watching their daughters play. The two of them had endured difficult childhoods, filled with responsibilities and burdens. But today, they had found a piece of the carefree joy they had missed out on, and it felt incredible. As they watched Loona and Octavia run around, their faces lit up with pure happiness, Blitzo and Stolas felt a sense of contentment. They might not have had the best start in life, but they were determined to give their daughters the joy and freedom they deserved. And in the process, they were finding their own happiness, too.

As the children giggled and cheered their way through the mini golf course, Stolas and Blitzo watched them with indulgent smiles. Loona and Octavia were running around, their laughter echoing through the air. The sight of their carefree joy brought a warm glow to both fathers' hearts.

"You look very happy, Blitzo," Stolas remarked, his voice gentle as he glanced at the imp beside him.

Blitzo nodded, a soft smile playing on his lips. "Yeah, I am. Seeing Loona like this, having fun and being a kid... It makes me really happy."

Stolas's eyes softened as he watched the two girls. "She's a wonderful child. You must be very proud."

Blitzo's expression grew more serious, a hint of sadness creeping into his eyes. "I am. But it's been a tough road. Loona... she wasn't always this carefree."

Stolas turned to Blitzo, curiosity and concern evident in his gaze. "What do you mean?"

Blitzo took a deep breath, gathering his thoughts before speaking. "Before we came to The Cat's Den, Loona was captured by the mafia, and it was... it was bad. But then Husker came and rescued us. He took us in, gave us a place to stay, and helped us get back on our feet."

Stolas's eyes widened in horror. "Captured by the mafia? That's terrible! I'm so sorry you both had to go through that."

Blitzo nodded, his jaw clenched as he remembered those dark days. "It was hell, no pun intended. But seeing her now, playing and laughing with Octavia... it makes it all worth it. She's safe, and she's happy. That's all that matters to me."

Stolas reached out, placing a comforting hand on Blitzo's shoulder. "I'm glad she's safe now. And I'm glad you found a place where you both can heal and be happy. Husker did a good thing, helping you like that."

Blitzo smiled, gratitude shining in his eyes. "Yeah, he did. Husker's a good guy. Gruff on the outside, but he's got a big heart. He gave us a second chance, and I won't ever forget that."

Stolas nodded, his expression thoughtful. "I wish I could have done something to help. If that small-time overlord who captured Loona was still around, I'd make sure he never hurt anyone again."

Blitzo looked at Stolas, surprised by the intensity in his voice. "You'd do that for us?"

Stolas's eyes flashed with determination. "Absolutely. No one should ever have to go through what you and Loona did. And if anyone threatens your happiness again, they'll have to answer to me."

Blitzo felt a lump form in his throat. He wasn't used to people caring about him or his daughter like this. "Thanks, Stolas. That means a lot."

Stolas smiled warmly. "You're welcome, Blitzo. We're friends now, right? Friends look out for each other."

Blitzo nodded, his heart swelling with gratitude. "Yeah, we are. And I appreciate it. Really."

Loona and Octavia, oblivious to the serious conversation between their fathers, continued to enjoy their game. They were a sight to behold, their innocent laughter and playful antics a stark contrast to the harsh world they lived in.

Stolas turned to Blitzo again, a soft smile on his lips. "You know, seeing them like this... it gives me hope. Hope that maybe, just maybe, things can get better."

Blitzo nodded, his eyes reflecting the same hope. "Yeah, me too. For the first time in a long time, I actually believe that."

They watched their daughters for a while longer, basking in the simple joy of the moment. It was a rare and precious thing, to see their children so happy and carefree. And in that moment, both Stolas and Blitzo knew that they would do whatever it took to protect that happiness.

As the sun began to set, casting a warm glow over the minigolf course, Blitzo gathered everyone around for the cake cutting. The cake was a towering confection, adorned with figurines of Loona and all her favorite characters. Loona's eyes sparkled with joy as everyone sang "Happy Birthday," and she blew out the candles with a wide smile on her face.

After the cake, the party wound down with a quiet moment of reflection. Blitzo, Stolas, Loona, and Octavia found themselves sitting together, watching the stars appear in the sky. Blitzo put his arm around Loona, pulling her close.

"This has been the best birthday ever, Dad," Loona said softly, leaning into him.

Blitzo smiled, his heart full. "I'm glad, Loony. You deserve it."

They sat in comfortable silence for a while, watching the stars and listening to the distant sounds of laughter and chatter. It was a perfect end to a perfect day, and Blitzo couldn't have asked for more.

As the night drew to a close, and the guests began to leave, Blitzo took one last look around the minigolf course. He saw the smiles, the laughter, and the sense of community that had formed over the past year. It hadn't been easy, but they had built something special here. A home, a family, a place where they all belonged.

Unfortunately, the following day, the time had come for Stolas and Octavia to leave The Cat's Den. The mood was bittersweet, as they gathered at the entrance of the resort, Loona and Octavia clung to each other, their eyes shimmering with tears.

"I don't want to go," Octavia whispered, her voice breaking as she hugged Loona tightly.

Loona, equally emotional, held her friend close. "Me neither, Via. But we'll see each other again, right?"

Stolas stepped forward, a comforting smile on his face despite the tears that threatened to spill. "Of course, you will, my dear," he said gently. "I promise to portal Loona to our castle for playdates. You two won't have to wait long to see each other again."

Octavia looked up at her father, her eyes filled with hope. "Really, Daddy? You promise?"

Stolas nodded, his eyes softening as he stroked his daughter's hair. "I promise, Via. I want you to have friends and be happy. You won't have a lonely childhood like I did."

Blitzo, standing beside Loona, felt a lump in his throat as he watched the exchange. The bond between Stolas and Octavia was touching, reminding him of the importance of family and friendship. He crouched down to Loona's level, wiping a tear from her cheek.

"Hey, kiddo, it's not goodbye forever," Blitzo said, his voice warm and reassuring. "You've got their number now, and you'll see Octavia soon. Plus, you've got me and everyone here."

Loona sniffled, managing a small smile. "I know, Dad. It's just... I'll miss her."

Blitzo hugged her tightly, feeling the weight of his emotions. "I know, Loony. But we'll make sure you get to see her often. You've got a good friend in Octavia."

The four of them exchanged numbers, ensuring they could keep in touch. "Thank you for everything, Blitzy," Stolas said sincerely. "You've made this vacation unforgettable for both of us."

Blitzo nodded, his usual bravado softened by genuine emotion. "It was my pleasure, Stolas. I'm glad we got to know each other. And I'm really glad Loona and Octavia hit it off."

Stolas smiled, his eyes glistening. "Me too. This means so much to me, more than you can imagine."

As they prepared to part ways, Stolas reached out and placed a hand on Blitzo's shoulder. "Remember, if you ever need anything, don't hesitate to reach out. We're friends now, and friends look out for each other."

Blitzo felt a surge of gratitude and warmth. "Thanks, Stolas. That means a lot. Same goes for you. If you ever need anything, you know where to find me."

With a final round of hugs and tearful goodbyes, Stolas and Octavia stepped through the portal, disappearing from view. Loona watched until the shimmering light faded, her heart heavy but hopeful.

Blitzo stood beside her, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Come on, Loony. Let's get back inside. We've got a lot of fun memories to hold onto, and even more to look forward to."

Loona nodded, wiping away the last of her tears. "Okay, Dad. Let's go."

Stolas, on the other side of the portal, felt the same sense of fulfillment. Octavia's laughter echoed in his ears, a sound he would treasure. He knew that their lives had been enriched by this newfound friendship, and he was determined to nurture it.

The future was bright, filled with the promise of more playdates, more laughter, and more shared moments. And as Stolas tucked Octavia into bed that night, he whispered a promise to her and to himself. "We'll never be lonely again, my darling. We have friends now, and that makes all the difference."

Octavia smiled in her sleep, and Stolas felt a warmth spread through his heart. Life was good, and it was only going to get better.
