A groggy hand slammed down on the alarm as the occupant shifted in bed yawning not wanting to get up. Then her door was knocked as a female voice spoke from the knocker. "Toru! You'll be late for school!"
"Just a few more minutes." Toru groaned turning over as an impression of a head on her pillow moved.
She heard some voices before the door opened to where-
HHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNNKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!
"AAAAHHHHH!" Toru cried out shooting up as she looked around. "What? Who? Where?"
She sees a snickering white haired young boy looking to be 6 holding a blowhorn close to her bed.
"What was that for!?" she snapped at the boy.
"I told him too." Toru looked seeing a white haired woman with crossed arms shaking her head. "Sometimes your impossible to wake up Toru."
Toru groaned but sat up at that. "Ok..."
"Now get up, and have breakfast young lady. Or I'll have Makoto use his horn again." the woman smiled before walking off to the kitchen.
"Yeah sis, you wouldn't want it a second time." Makoto grinned mischievously before running off.
Toru groaned again before getting up and going to get dressed and head down. After dressing up she walked down seeing her mother cooking while a chartreuse haired man in a business suit was checking over things on a laptop, Makoto eating an omelette. Lastly there is a white haired baby on a highchair sucking a pacifier.
"Good morning dad." Toru smiled seeing the man.
"Morning little star." the man spoke looking over to her. "Did your mother had to use the Makoto horn to get you up again?" Toru is not a morning person, and she often gets up by Makoto using his blowhorn which he nicknamed it the 'Makoto Horn' to poke fun at it. He also isn't a morning person but he doesn't need it to get up.
"Unfortunately." Toru sighed loudly. "I should hide that thing."
"You love it sis, you just didn't want to admit it." Makoto teased over.
"Yeah, no I don't." Toru sighed. "Do we have any eggs mom?"
"I'm already fixing your share like how you like it." her mother answered over to her. "Though honey if you don't want Makoto to use his horn then get up when your alarm goes off. You can't be gossiping all night or whatever you like to do." Toru alongside her best friend Mina are huge gossips, and they can chat about boys all night. But lately Toru had been coming home late which when she asked why, Toru said she was training for U.A. Although her mother isn't sure why Toru picked now she doesn't see anything wrong as long as she doesn't pushes herself too hard.
"I had a long night last night mom, getting ready for U.A. is hard work." Toru pointed out.
"I know but being a hero means getting ready on time. You won't be giving a good example if you sleep all day." her mother explained over.
"Unless your Quirk needs you to sleep." her father joked with a chuckle which Makoto chuckled a bit himself before he stopped seeing his mother's disapproving look towards her husband. "Just a joke honey..." He then looked over to Toru. "But in all seriousness, you do need to stop staying up late, and sleep when you need too. Fatigue will slow you down when you go pro."
"I know." Toru sighed before stretching. "I promised I'd meet up with Mina today."
"Come sit down, and eat Toru. Breakfast is ready." her mother voiced over to her.
"Oh shoot." Looking at his watch her husband stood up. "Time to head to work. See you after school kids." He waved to them as he packs his laptop. "See you soon honey." He kisses her.
Makoto gagged from this. "Yuck! Get a room!"
"It's sweet." Toru pointed out. "I wonder if I'll find anyone special one day."
"Alright I'm heading out. Makoto be nice to your sister, and help your mother with Yuka. Toru do not push yourself too hard, and be nice to your brother." there father spoke to them before then kissing the baby's head. "Daddy loves you Yuka. Be good to your brother, and sister." The baby Yuka giggled as he waved before walking out of the house.
"I should head out too." Toru smiled walking over to the baby. "Yuka you're in charge so if Makoto does anything bad make sure to tell mom or me when I get home ok?"
"Hey Toru!" Makoto whined from this while Yuka laughed from this. "I should be in charge..."
There mother laughed over from this as breakfast went by. "Okay have a good day at school Toru. And remember be careful out there in case something other the Sludge Villain comes up. All Might won't be there a second time in case that happens."
"I know mom." Toru reassured her. "I'll be careful."
So she waved exiting the house walking off to the school. Soon she arrived where Mina was waiting at the entrance, and she grinned over. "Hey girl!"
"Hi Mina." Toru smiled running over to hug her.
Mina hugged her back before pulling away with a grin, "How you doing?"
"Tired, my entire body is sore from what he's having me do Mina." Toru groaned. "And my annoying brother woke me up with his horn."
"Ouchies." Mina gasped dramatically. "Should we get back at Makoto for that prank of his?" Mina was the girl who plays jokes, and pranks to lift the mood, and from the times she knows Toru, she knows Makoto is the type who annoys Toru to death. They love each other but they are at each other's throats like how siblings should. And that when Mina comes over, Makoto has a obvious huge crush on her which Mina finds cute so she never complains but Toru does find it annoying for Makoto, and Mina to interact. Doesn't mean Mina won't side with Toru when he does something annoying to her.
"What are you thinking?" Toru asked curiously.
"Well he hates Xenomorphs right? So why not I jumpscare him as one?" Yeah Makoto isn't a fan of horror films. Mina loves the Alien horror movie series since it mimics her Quirk, and appearance as an Alien which Mina sometimes spokes fun at to Makoto just to have him pay back for what he done to Toru.
"I don't know… last time we got yelled at and I couldn't see you for a week." Toru sighed.
"Oh yeah cause he peed himself..." Mina did find it shameful to laugh at people's misfortune just like Makoto peeing himself when she jumpscared him before.
"Yeah so we need to come up with something else." Toru shrugged. "Well we'll figure out something."
"Gotcha. And we also gotta manage the beach too." Mina admitted over which Toru winced a bit hearing that. "Your making great progress so far Toru! Just 1/3 of the beach cleaned off."
"I know but... actually can I be honest with you Mina? I'm thinking of doing the whole thing." Toru admitted. "I mean... he asked me to do it himself so... I want to make him proud... does that makes sense?"
"The whole entire beach?" Mina blinked hearing that. "Are you sure?"
"No... but I want to try it anyway." Toru admitted.
Mina pat her back with a grin. "Well, I know you can do it Toru! And I'll be there to make sure you'll be okay! Now come on time to head to class."
"Right, thanks Mina." Toru smiled as they went into the school.
They sat down in class with Mina sitting beside a black haired sharp teeth boy while the teacher walked in taking attendance listing several students off.
"Mina Ashido."
"Present." she smiled.
"Toru Hagakure."
"Here." she nodded holding up a pencil so she could be seen.
"Ejiro Kirishima."
"Oh, right here." the black-haired boy mentioned.
"Okay then. Looks like everyone's here." the teacher smiled before then frowning towards a seat. "Well... most of them." They looked to the seat knowing what she means.
The last person who sits in that seat was a boy named Jeff. He never arrives at school though he does do his school work. He wasn't like this before but after a incident, he stopped being himself. He never says what his Quirk was but people assumed he's Quirkless, and make fun of him for him. Mina, Ejiro, and Toru are among those that never done it, and at times tried stepping in but the lead bullies often tried to pick on Jeff when there not around. From the incident, the bullies seem to have disappeared, and Jeff was also gone. They never knew what had happened but must've not been pretty based on how people are pointing fingers at Jeff for there disappearance. The three had been meaning to talk with Jeff about it but they never managed to find him. They just hope he's okay.
"Have his parents said anything?" Mina asked.
"Never received a phone call from them. The police are still investigating what happened." the teacher admitted over.
"Well I guess the Quirkless freak, and his family must've moved out. They know he's the one who done something to them, and must've tried running away." one of the lesser bullies in the class spoke up with a smirk while several others chuckled over from this while Mina, Toru, and Ejiro frowned disapprovingly.
"Alright, let's move on." the teacher told them.
Like how the three remember. The teachers don't mostly care, just want some pay for teaching them. If big incidents happen they want nothing to do with it just backing off so they would not get in trouble, or do anything to down play it. It doesn't ease there worry that she didn't scold the bully who spoken up since there Quirkist bigots.
Later in lunch...
Toru, and Mina sat down with Ejiro with Toru's tray noticeibly having some specific foods.
"Well Hagakure-san, you really are making sure your being in shape for U.A. huh?" Ejiro asked her curiously.
"Well yeah, it's the best hero school... All Might went there after all." Toru admitted. "Actually, didn't Endeavor go there too? The top two heroes?"
"Yeah that's right... but your idol didn't did he Kirishima?" Mina asked him.
"Nah, Crimson Riot didn't went there but I don't care. He's old-school but he's still my idol from helping me learn what it means to be manly." Ejiro answered with a grin over. "I hope, I can be as good as he is!"
"Well, work hard and you can be." Mina smiled.
Ejiro nodded before then began overhearing something from a group of students.
"Hey did you hear? Jeff's parents are dead!"
"Huh?" Toru asked stunned hearing that.
They turned to the students as they spoke.
"What, the Quirkless kid's parents up, and died?" one gossip girl asked. "What did they crash or something?"
"Well no... it looked like they been murdered." the kid who voiced over explained. "The night of the party, something had attacked, and murdered them. Dad said that the two had been massacred by knife wounds. They later found Jeff's brother, Liu. Knife in his chest... Something out of a horror movie."
"What about the Quirkless himself?"
"Well this is the shocking part... The fingerprints on the knife were identified as Jeff's." the kid answered not sounding he believes it either.
"What? No way... there's no way." Kirishima whispered hearing that.
"No way, the Quirkless kid murdered his family?" the gossip girl asked shocked.
"He... must've not been Quirkless after all. I mean you all heard what he had done to Randy, Troy, and Keith at the party?" the kid said nervously. "He must've had a Quirk that had done something to them."
"What, come on he never said he had a Quirk." one kid laughed over. "Besides now he's worthless, and finally decided to take it out on the people who made him that way." He laughed at that over.
Toru, Mina ,and Kirishima all exchanged a nervous gasp hearing that.
"Where is he now?" one girl asked nervous.
"Don't know, it's like he vanished."
"Let's just let him to get murdered, or caught by police. Good riddance to a waste of space." one kid scoffed walking off as the others followed him leaving the three to absorb what they just heard.
"I don't... that doesn't make any sense." Kirishima frowned.
"So that's why Jeff isn't here... those three must've done something that made him snap?" Mina didn't like Randy, Keith, and Troy. Those three are the big three here in this school, and act as the tyrants all three wanting to take the hero course. She had personally met Randy the leader of the three from date offers but she told him to backoff, and he later gotten the message switching to some other girl. She really hates him with a passion since she knows he's Jeff's main tormentor but never thought Jeff would do something to him, and later murdered his family.
Toru shuddered at that. "Didn't you borrow his notes once Kirishima?"
"Yeah... he's a real quiet guy." Ejiro also knows Jeff since he's a wiz in class, and helps on tests where if his Quirk can't help then he relies on his other abilities. Ejiro once asked Jeff what his Quirk is, and he is only told of one sentence.
"It's complicated."
Mina frowned as Toru suddenly gasped. "Do you think he was manipulated by some kind of villain?"
"Well that's not impossible... but what villain would want him for?" Ejiro doesn't know what exactly a villain would want Jeff for since he's a standard kid, and has a unknown Quirk. But maybe to get the Police, and Heroes off there back?
Mina leaned to whisper to Toru. "Toru should we ask him when we get to the beach?" Mina figures that Toshinori might know something.
"Yeah, I was thinking the same thing." Toru admitted quietly. "Even if he doesn't he might be able to find out."
Mina nodded before getting back to lunch.
The rest of the school day was uneventful. Then came the end of the day where Toru texted her mother to let her know she's training, and Mina texted her own mother that she'll be with Toru before they walked to the beach. Arriving they see Toshinori was talking with someone before they noticed the approaching two, and Toshinori grinned over. "Young Hagakure, and young Ashido glad you two came here safely! How was school?"
"It was... ok. One of our classmates wasn't in class again." Toru admitted. "Actually, can we ask you something?"
"Of course." Toshinori nodded only to hear a throat cleared. "Oh, but before that I have someone to introduce you two too." He looked to who he was talking too. Mina, and Toru turned over seeing it was a white suited man with green hair, and yellow highlights alongside wearing glasses. "This is Mirai Sasaki, or you might know him as Sir Nighteye."
Mirai looks over the two with some calculating eyes.
"Um... it's nice to meet you." Toro mentioned politely.
"..." Mirai viewed over her with a intimidating posture.
"Now Mirai don't scare the poor lady." Toshinori spoke to him which made Mirai turn to him. Then the older man looked to them. "Now, what do you wanted to ask me about?"
"One of our classmates, his name is Jeff... apparently his family was murdered and the knife had his fingerprints on it but... I don't think he would do that unless a villain was behind it... do you know who might be blackmailing or threatening him?" Mina asked.
"You heard about that? Tsukauchi told me that no-one would know what happened." Toshinori sighed from that. "Well... it's a sad story... what do you two know about Young Woods?"
"He was always quiet, and... he was bullied a lot." Mina answered as Toru had gotten a bit intimidated by Mirai and so had gone to start working on cleaning the beach.
"Well some witnesses had explained over to the police some things... the party that night erupted in chaos." Toshinori admitted over to Mina. "What we founded out were three hooligans who had taken things too far for revenge." Already Mina knows he means Randy, Troy, and Keith. "From what we founded out from some witnesses, they had tried mugging Young Woods, and his brother sometime ago but Young Woods defended the two of them, and incapacitated them. But police came in, and tried to take him to a detention center as they believed Jeff attacked them without motivation but his young brother Liu took the blame for it."
Mina had heard about this rumor. Jeff had supposedly attacked the Trio of Bullies for not paying the 'tax' they extort out of weaker students. So they decided to punish him by having him blamed for attacking them only for Jeff's younger brother to foil there attempt by going in his place by cutting himself to make it seem like he's the one who is the troubled child. And from the time he's at school, Jeff appeared withdrawn, and depressed while avoiding contact with others including Mina, Toru, and Ejiro. But they thought it was only a rumor, they never suspected it was real.
"Young Woods had went to the party to get his mind off it... but we learned that those three had founded out, and decided to corner him." Toshinori added over to Mina. "What happened was honestly astonishing to me that young kids like them would do something like that."
"What... what happened?" Mina asked nervously.
"Young Woods tried to say there even as there the ones who gotten his brother in trouble, and Jeff had beaten them but there leader said he doesn't care for getting even, goes for winning." Toshinori explained to Mina. "So he proceeded fighting, while both of his buds held the guests at gun, and knifepoint so they can't stop the fight. And after an insult about his brother... Young Woods caused Arrhythmia to him."
"That... was it his quirk?" Mina questioned nervously as she looked down.
"No... just sudden strength. It gotten pretty nasty after that from the two others attacking Young Woods. Bleach coated Jeff during the fight, and he was set ablaze alongside being coated in alcohol earlier." Toshinori admitted over to her. "Young Woods fell down the stairs, and passed out. The condition of the two were bad. One is recovering but will be jailed for what he done but the other died from head trauma. He was taken to a hospital where his brother is being released from the center as there names are cleared. But Young Woods wasn't the same... from what his doctors said, when his bandages were removed weeks later, he had taken a liking to his deformity, and the doctors assumed it must've been the painkillers not making him think straight." Mina, and the others know Jeff had been absent for a while starting after the incident which this must've been. "But we heard screams sometime... both of his parents were butchered, and his brother laid in bed with only a knife. One witness who came to investigate the screams sees someone walking off into the night. He knows it's Jeff, and only heard a single sentence. 'Go to sleep'. From reports no-one had influenced Jeff, this was all his own doing."
Mina gasped in horror hearing that.
"But Mirai here had told me something involving Young Woods... he's-"
"My Quirk had activated." Mirai spoke up for the first time suddenly. "Jeff had arrived in the prison where the last one is held, and I witnessed him activating his Quirk."
Mina jumped hearing his voice as she turned to him. "You saw it?"
"Yes. It appears to be an emitter." Mirai answered as he recalled what he had seen. "He recites the words the witness had heard... 'Go To Sleep'."
"That... but, he wrote that in his notebook all the time, Kirishima mentioned it when he borrowed his notes remember?" Toru asked as she was struggling to move a heavy stack of tires.
"It was the key to how he can use his Quirk... he forced a target to head to sleep." Mirai answered over based on what he understands. "Not always successful but incredibly lethal based on his history. He murdered the last one after it affected him without so much as a scream."
Toru shuddered. "That... but he's not a killer... he's just a quiet classmate of ours."
"The visions I foretold are always accurate. Sometime later today is when it will happen, I founded out from a clock, and calendar from what I seen." Mirai spoke up grimly.
"So I need to inform Tsukauchi about to have him guarded well so he can't reach him." Toshinori spoke over. "And maybe get some insight over why he, and his friends need to torment young Woods."
"It's no use, we can't save him." Mirai spoke to him. "We can apprehend Jeff but we can't save the victim. No matter how hard we try..."
"What do you mean we can't?" Toru asked. "If you know when and where it's going to happen you can stop it right?"
"My Quirk is powerful, and always accurate... but one side effect is that even if we get involved to stop it, nothing changes." Mirai answered over to her. "The future is always set in stone, no matter how we try to change it. Alongside time exists fate, the bearer of cruelty..." He then turned over towards Toru. "And for that matter, now we need a chat."
"Mirai, please I know what I am doing-"
"I am speaking from what I know best." Mirai spoke over towards Toshinori. "I need to judge if she's really the best you can find in a successor." Which made Mina, and Toru blink hearing that not expecting Mirai to know about One For All. "I used to be All Might's sidekick so I do know about One For All." Oh, that makes perfect sense...
"Wait, I didn't know All Might had a sidekick." Mina admitted.
"Well Mirai here is the brains behind me so he's not exactly all that known." Toshinori explained. "But I have taken on some sidekicks like Mirai, and even the top technician over at I-Island. I can take you there sometime if we get some peace."
"That would be nice." Mina smiled though Toru shuddered a bit.
"What... do we need to talk about sir?" she asked.
Mirai walked over towards her checking over her. "Hmm... invisibility is obvious. Useful for espionage, and stealth work... But worthless when needed for battling otherside to trick or blind enemies." He walks around her as he stared over to her. "So tell me, why exactly are you gonna bear One For All?"
"Huh?" Toru asked hearing that. "I... well I guess I reminded All Might of how a hero should act? I just tried to save Mina when this sludge villain attacked her even though... you're right my quirk isn't really good for combat."
"So I can understand... your bearing it... cause your gonna be a hero who saves lives?" Mirai's tone didn't change but Toshinori can tell it's laced with disapproval.
"Well... yeah, and to try and inspire people like All Might... he's inspired so many heroes and potential heroes." Toru admitted. "Plus, well... I want to be able to help people like Jeff so bad things don't happen anymore."
"You cannot be his successor on good intentions, and willpower alone." Mirai spoke over to her. "If you lack the power to use it well, and don't show how to use it, then it would be trouble. There are far more suitable people who can use it so if I was you, I'd quit now, and-"
"Mirai Sasaki, I only agreed to talk cause of the prediction on Young Woods..." Toshinori interrupted looking real angry which Mirai turned over. "It doesn't give you any right to criticize young Hagakure, and tell her she's not worthy. I believed she is cause she helped me relearn that anyone can be a hero, and if there willpower is strong enough they can do it. Who I picked as my successor is my choice only, not the HPSC President, not Nezu's, not God, and most certainly not yours."
The two are in a standstill staring at each other from this tensed silence which made the two girls nervous from the tension. Toru just looked down before trying to continue cleaning the beach though Mirai's words hit her and she was having doubts if maybe All Might did make a mistake... maybe she shouldn't be the one to inherit his quirk.
Suddenly a call was heard as Toshinori checks over, and answered the call. "Tsukauchi?" He listened before nodding. "Right we will be there." He hanged up before turning over. "Sorry young Hagakure, training today is cancelled. We're needed at the police station to question the kid who survived the incident. There's still time before Young Woods comes in so we can talk with him, and try to apprehend him."
"Wait." she said quickly looking down. "I... I think Mirai might be right... I think you should take the quirk back, and find someone more fitting."
"Young Hagakure, don't think your not worthy. The only person who should-" Toshinori tried to speak but Mina walked up, and slapped Toru.
She gasped as a red handprint was floating where her cheek would be. "Mina...?"
"Toru Hagakure... what are you doing listening to someone who doesn't know what he's talking about?" Mina glared over to her serious. "He doesn't know how to make the situation better," Mirai narrowed his eyes hearing that knowing she means him. "and he tries to push something without approval so why do you think he's right? I think you are worthy, sure invisibility has limited use but did you need it that day? Who tried saving me the day the Sludge Villain trapped me despite knowing there Quirk can't help?"
"That's..." Toru started before looking down only to nod. "Right... you're right like always."
She hugged her with a smile.
"Thanks."
Mina grinned hugging her back. "So if people say your not worthy... then show them you are!"
"Well, as much as they can see." Toru laughed before taking a breath and going to get back to work on cleaning the beach.
Toshinori grinned from this before he called. "Young Hagakure training's cancelled! We need to talk to the last hooligan, and see if we can stop Young Woods!"
"I'll go." Mina offered. "Toru needs to work hard and prove some people wrong."
She glared at Mirai at that.
"Well alright." Toshinori doesn't see a problem before he then stared disapprovingly to Mirai. "You will be staying here with Young Hagakure, Mirai. Don't try anything to shake her confidence." With that he, and Mina head off to the police station. Mirai stared off before turning over to Toru.
He saw her working hard, moving large and heavy refrigerators, broken down cars, and trying to clear off the trash on the beach. Seeing this he couldn't help but he impressed by her strength. This doesn't shake his decision though figuring he's doing the right thing. So he figured that once she's suitable to use his Quirk, he should test her out to see if she's really worthy. By showing All Might that his decided student will show he's more worthy.
Meanwhile...
Toshinori, and Mina arrived together as Tsukauchi was waiting before noticing them smiling. "Toshinori we were waiting." He then noticed Mina blinking. "Who's this?"
"A classmate of the hooligan." Toshinori answered to him. "She's here to provide some answers to the backstory. Also we need to be on high alert, Sir Nighteye said danger can come here soon."
"I'll have everyone on high alert." Tsukauchi nodded for the defenses, and security to be tight. He then turned over to Mina. "Well I suppose I don't have a problem if you join the questioning. I only ask for you to keep yourself under control."
"I will..." Mina nodded. "Is he hurt?"
"Has some injuries, and bleach on him but he'll live." Tsukauchi answered before gesturing them to follow him.
She nodded nervously going to follow Tsukauchi. Arriving they see from a one way mirror that she sees who she remembers as Keith.
Keith is a skinny boy with his green toboggan removed with blood over some bandages, and wearing an orange prison jumpsuit with black hair, and blue eyes handcuffed to the table.
She frowned slightly but didn't say anything since she was with All Might and a police officer and had to trust they knew what to do.
"Are you ready to start questioning?" Tsukauchi asked the two if there ready for questioning.
"Yes." Toshinori nodded. "We are."
With that the Detective opened the door as he walked in with Mina, and Toshinori. Hearing the door opening Keith looked up, and looked surprised seeing Mina.
"Ashido, what are you doing here?" he asked staring at her.
"It's... complicated." she answered. "What did you do to Jeff?"
"Who the Quirkless murderer?" Keith looked murderous when he asked that. "He killed Randy, and Troy, I had to put a villain in his place."
"Truth." the kids blinked looking at Tsukauchi who explained. "I have a Lie Detecting Quirk, I can tell who's telling the truth or speaking a lie."
"Well you can see this questioning is pointless. Can't you see that I tried to stop a villain?" Keith glared over to him. "My dad will ruin you if you don't let me the fuck go."
"Your father has no authority to do anything." Tsukauchi stared in a intimidating stare. "Your being charged with disturbing the peace, attempted murder, and arson."
"All lies, I tell you. Me, Randy, and Troy are only showing we're the top dogs, and your letting a murderer like him be free to do what he wants?" Keith glared over not intimidated turning away with a huff.
Mina's eyes widened at that. "You tried to kill him?"
"He murdered Troy, and Randy, I have to show him the punishment for going against us."
"Truth." Tsukauchi voiced grimly.
"But that's not the only reason." Keith added over towards Mina with a glare. "He refused to pay for the tax after he came into the school, and he's also Quirkless."
"Truth." Tsukauchi added over looking real disturbed. "What tax?"
"What you think? Money to show them that they need to support us. We were gonna be the most proud heroes, and he had to go, and ruin that." Keith answered over without remorse.
"A hero isn't about extorting, stealing, or threatening others." Toshinori spoke over with a glare.
"Stay out of this old man, you don't have any right to question what we believe in." Keith spoke quite rudely as since Toshinori is not in his All Might form, he doesn't know who exactly he's talking too.
"Would All Might do that kind of thing?" Mina asked Keith.
"He's the best kind of hero there is. He needed to survive in this dog eat dog world, and would make some decisions that goes against him." Keith spoke over.
"Half-Truth." Tsukauchi said over which confused Keith. "I know All Might personally, he wouldn't dare do the things you do. Including also sending someone to jail for 'aggravated assault with no real reason'."
"He refused to pay the tax, and attacked. He gets placed the penalty." Keith spoke over why they done so. "But his brother had to go all noble." He looked like he's mocking the deceased with so much sarcasm when he said 'noble'. That really irritates Mina from him speaking ill of the dead who tried defending his brother.
She clenched her fists as some acid dripped onto the table burning small holes.
"Young Ashido." Toshinori pat her back to remind her to calm herself.
"I'm... trying, but what he's saying... it's just heartless... how can he possibly think he's going to be a hero?" Mina asked angrily.
"Do you have any other reason why you went after Jeff?" Tsukauchi continued on with the interrogation with Keith who glared. "Why you went after an innocent boy, and his brother?"
"Oh my GOD would you stop with these worthless questions? If it makes you feel better, he's a failure cause he doesn't have a Quirk! That's how this world works, your Quirkless, your a failure!" Keith looks incredibly annoyed. "And the Meta-Liberation Army will have Quirks as civilians rights!" That last sentence confused Mina but shocked both the adults.
"What did you just say?" Toshinori asked him. "What do you know about the Meta-Liberation Army?"
"I don't have to tell you anything. My dad will-" Keith started only for Tsukauchi's walkie talkie to start static.
"Detective! Detective!" a voice called sounding rather urgent.
"What is it?" Tsukauchi questioned.
"Someone came in! He's heading to your location!" the voice spoke over urgently before they heard a gasp, and a voice.
"Go... to... sleep." a eerie voice spoke before they hear the walkie talkie being dropped.
"That... that's Jeff." Mina gasped. "Let me try and talk to him."
"What? Are you crazy Ashido! He's clearly bonkers!" Keith was shocked, and tried telling her to not try.
"Unlike you, I never bullied him... I might be able to talk to Jeff." Mina pointed out glaring at him.
SMASH!
The one way mirror suddenly broke apart as they turned over shocked seeing someone broke it apart with his fist. It was the hoodied person that Tetsuo encountered in the mall sometime before the trip to Yakushima began. He raised his head showing shruken pupil eyes staring at them before seeing Keith who's staring in shock seeing him like a ghost from his past has came for him.
"Jeff stop!" Mina tried to say. "You're not a killer... you're not a bad person."
Jeff merely stepped over the window area walking towards Keith ignoring Mina, Toshinori, and Tsukauchi while Keith looks incredibly scared trying to break out of the cuffs but his Quirk is shut down.
"Young Woods! Stand down now!" Toshinori yelled over which made Jeff stopped walking to Keith just standing. Then Jeff turned over towards Toshinori as they see a red carved Glasgow Smile on his deformed face before he widen his eyes staring deep into the souls of Toshinori, Tsukauchi, and Mina as they froze.
"Go... to... sleep." he spoke over raspy as suddenly Toshinori, and Tsukauchi dropped down passed out but Mina wasn't affected as the effect doesn't always work.
"Jeff... you don't have to do this." Mina told him as she was trying to stay awake. "You're not a bad person."
He slowly turned over towards her staring onto her. She shuddered but took a step forward. "Just... let the police punish Keith, it'll work out, I promise."
Jeff stared over as Keith noticing he's distracted smirked as he, and broke out of the table moving. "Don't turn your back on the enemy Joker-Reject!" Jeff turned over as Keith moved to attack but Jeff grabbed his cuffs moving, and turned Keith around presenting a knife, and raised it pressing it against Keith's neck who froze looking pale in the face from this now realizing Jeff now has his life in his hands.
"Jeff don't!" Mina cried seeing that. "Just... put the knife down, ok? For one of your friends from school?"
Jeff didn't move as Keith looked really scared from Jeff having a knife against his neck which will kill him if Jeff does the deed. But he didn't makes it as he stared at Keith the last of his tormentors alive now about to die while Mina chats over with him. Hearing her he turned over towards her again when she said she's a friend from school.
"Remember? Toru, Kirishima, and I... we sit with you at lunch and... we've talked with you about how you are... you spent time talking with us about how your little brother was annoying, remember?" Mina asked him.
Jeff stared over as memories flashes through his mind. The time he was sane he had talked with Toru, Ejiro, and Mina. They had defended him, and Liu when Randy, Keith, and Troy were bothering them, and they tried talking with him but he pushed them away from his depression. He keeps this in thought while Keith stays completely still looking about close to passing out from being scared. Then he feels the knife leaving his neck which he lets out a breath which he begins taking relieved breathes while Jeff still has his arm on him.
"It'll be ok, the police will take care of everything, I promise." Mina whispered holding out her hand. "Ok, you can trust me... I promise."
Jeff only stays quiet as she said this while Keith looks immensely relieved. "Okay... okay... Okay... I swear to God-" However Jeff doesn't have any intention of leaving a kill. As evident when he suddenly moved, and slit Keith's throat before there aware. Mina widen her eyes in horror covering her mouth while Keith struggled while Jeff covered his mouth keeping Keith in place as he struggled over with his blood-soaked knife for a few moments. Then when he feels Keith stopped struggling he lets him go letting Keith fall down now dead as blood pooled around his corpse.
Mina looked absolutely terrified seeing that. "Jeff... why?"
"Hn... too... late..." Jeff spoke as he stared at the deceased corpse of Keith. "Cannot... change... forever be... murderer..." He is saying that he already took the point of no return, there is no hope for him now. All that he can do is kill, and kill, and kill until he's dead. Then his form being shaking before Mina begins to hear maniacal laughter from him laughing hard as a manic lifting his head, and spreading his arms as he relishes taking the life of the last of his tormentors.
At the same time Toshinori, and Tsukauchi slowly woken up rubbing there heads while Toshinori asked. "W-What happened? Young Ashido...?" He looks over.
She looked horrified and was staring at Jeff but didn't do anything to stop him from leaving the same way he entered before Toshinori and Tsukauchi fully got their bearings.
"Where's Jeff?" Tsukauchi rubbed his head before noticing Keith. Widening his eyes he ran over checking for a pulse. He frowned before shaking his head towards Mina, and Toshinori.
"Dead... like how Nighteye foretold..." Toshinori trailed off as he stared at the corpse. "He known something about the Meta-Liberation Army... but now we can't know what he knows... and now Jeff took the point of no return." He turned over towards the Detective. "We have to look for him, and stop him from doing more!"
"I'll alert every officer available. Jeff's days being free are numbered." Tsukauchi promised as he stood up before he turned to Mina who had seen someone die in front of her in such a gory fashion.
She just had a look of shock and fear in her eyes. Toshinori softly taps her shoulder. "Young Ashido...?" He speaks to get her attention.
She gasped before turning to him. "I... I tried to... but he..."
"I know..." Toshinori looked sad as he stared at her. "It hurts, and at times you face something like this in your hero career... there will be people who are psychotic enough to kill for grudges or for... other reasons... I known plenty of villains who had done the same thing as Young Woods here done. But the goal of being a hero is minimizing as many casualties as you can... and promising that you will always do your best to save others, and protect the masses. There will always be a sticky situation where someone dies... but if you give it all you have, you will protect everyone, and save as many people as you can."
There will always come a point in a Hero's life where they are faced with the pain of not saving everyone, a mugging successful without the heroes stopping the mugger, a attempt to stop a bank robbery gone wrong, or even most heinous crimes as drug deals, trafficking, or many others will always result in the death of someone be it civilian or villain. The goal of a hero is protecting the masses, and use all they have to do that, where at times a casualty will occur but as long as you strive to do all you can to stop as many as you can, then you will protect the masses.
Mina just shivered but nodded looking down only to silently leave the room. Toshinori watched as she does not stopping her before closing his eyes turning towards Tsukauchi. "Tsukauchi-"
"I know what you want me to do. I'll have the heroes be on a lookout for Jeff." Tsukauchi already knows what he wants him to do. "But there was something Keith said that's concerning... why did he say something about the Meta-Liberation Army? That organization's been gone for a long time..."
Toshinori cupped his chin in thought about it. "I'm not sure... we can perhaps question his father about this. Right now, let's focus our energy on finding Young Woods. Tell the officers, and heroes if they see him, apprehend him immediately. We can't risk anymore death like how this turned out."
"On it." Tsukauchi nodded understanding as he pulls out his walkie-talkie to chat with as many officers as he can. While this happened Toshinori turned back where Mina exited hoping she's okay.
Meanwhile back at the beach...
"Again."
Mirai is currently seeing Toru's skill right now using his Quirk to dodge her attacks seeing a chance to see what she has. She is trying to hit him as he instructed her but his dodging abilities with Foresight makes it difficult for her to land a single blow.
Toru was breathing heavily as she was having trouble even touching Mirai before pausing and just... stopping completely.
"Hmm..." Mirai stared over as he walked to her.
'That's right, make the first move.' Toru thought. 'If you can react to me maybe the trick is reacting to you instead.'
Mirai stared over before then making a move pulling out things, and thrown them over at a fast speed. Toru's eyes widened not expecting that as she cried out and barely dodged them. "What was that!? You never said you had weapons!"
"I maybe the brains behind All Might but I am not a pushover. Hyper-Density Seals that weigh 11 pounds each, a fitting weapon for a salaryman." Mirai spoke up towards her. "Often times villain's believed I'm a pushover relying only on my Quirk. But not every hero is a one trick pony."
"That makes sense." Toru nodded only to sigh.
"Weapons are not always a hero's choice of combat style. You have to go with whatever works on your style." Mirai spoke wisely towards her. "For something as stealth, something like a taser or a Tranquilizer Gun is appropriate. But when push comes to shove need something that can incapacitate multiple villains is required which One For All is pretty much all you need. Of course assuming that you can be suitable, and try to prove me wrong. I already have someone in mind, and we can see who can fit better later on."
"Mirai sir?" Toru asked as she stood up before turning back to the beach. "Can I ask you something?"
"Hm?" Mirai turned over to her hearing that interested in what she wants to ask.
"Do you think I'm not worthy to have One For All, or just that I'm not worthy right now?" she asked as she started trying to clean more of the beach.
"Hm? And your asking this why?" Mirai asked her.
"If I'm not worthy at all... I shouldn't be All Might's successor... but if you think I can become worthy, I want to prove to you that I can be." she admitted. "That All Might didn't make a mistake and I won't let him down."
"As I told you before. You can't be his successor on willpower, and good intentions alone. You need to show that you have devotion, the strength, and the ability to control your abilities." Mirai answered over to her. "Within time you will be worthy but for now, your not suitable to use it as your body is not compatible enough. Your original Quirk doesn't get enhanced by One For All which is one reason why you don't have the strength or the ability to control it now. But in time, that may change."
Toru nodded hearing that. "I understand."
Meanwhile...
"Phew." Ochako wiped her forehead from a day of Quirk Training under the eye of Hound Dog at a small area where it's safe enough for them to do. "Wow... I think, I increased my weight limit a little."
"Going up a pound isn't much. But it's progress." Isogai voiced with his Quirk Computer generated as a holoscreen checking things over. "I think there will be better opportunities once you enter U.A. Uraraka-san? What do you think Bakugo-san?" He turned over to said boy who checking over Ochako's training.
"Small steps, alright my turn." Bakugo smirked as he clenched his fists.
"Remember not too strong blasts, and keep them controlled." Hound Dog spoke to Bakugo to remind.
"I remember. Round cheeks, can you float some rocks for me?" Bakugo asked her.
Ochako nodded taping her fingers on some of the rocks around floating them over in front of Bakugo in some piles. Smirking Bakugo blew up one before using small explosions to propel himself through the air as he destroyed them one by one and also stay mobile.
They watched as he done so with Hound Dog staring ahead seeing how much Bakugo had mellowed out, and gotten better controlling on his Quirk. Ochako, and Isogai also seeing how much he had came too impressed by his ability to use his Quirk much more effectively. They definitely know that Bakugo will be accepted into U.A.
"Alright. Now for the other part." Hound Dog spoke pulling out a Shadow Orb.
"Right, you guys stay back!" He called to Ochako and Isogai. "Persona!"
(Cue Battle Theme: Mass Destruction)
He transformed into his Phantom Thief attire while Terminator appeared above him readying.
Hound Dog stick the orb to the ground walking with Ochako, and Isogai to give some distance before pressing a few buttons which the orb split generating sonic waves before dark patches formed showing Shadows before they transformed into some enemies.
Bakugo smirked. "Agi!"
Terminator fired some fire over which hits a Shadow but a snowman in a blue hat bearing a liking to Black Frost charged over calling. "Bufu!" An ice attack fired over towards Bakugo who dodged, and charged in landing an exploding punch to the snowman Shadow pushing it back while a ball having a mouth, and a large tongue with a Magician mask on it's back charged over to tackle that Bakugo dodged, and kicked away before lifting himself with Explosions striking the Shadows landing before a Jack-o-Lantern charged in at him.
Seeing that he used his explosion quirk to dodge the Jack-o-Lantern only to not noticed a second snowman Shadow to hit him with Bufu as he cried out falling to the ground dazed.
"Katz!" Ochako cried worried moving to help but Hound Dog held her back which she looked.
"Let him continue. I have an emergency off switch in case things go south." Hound Dog instructed her.
Bakugo groaned in pain before getting up. "Damn it! Alright if that's what you want... let's try something else, Agi!"
Terminator launched more fire but before it hit Bakugo ran up and amplified it with his explosion quirk creating a much larger explosion that destroyed a few of the Shadows.
"Whoa..." Isogai was in awe from how Bakugo strengthened the attack.
Bakugo smirked. "Thought so."
'Hmm... I should ask Miss Kirijo if coordinated attacks with Personas are possible.' Hound Dog thought as he watches this, and after about a minute of them seeing Bakugo training with his Persona he pulled the plug pressing the off switch which deactivated the Shadow Orb while the remaining Shadows vanished.
Seeing that Bakugo landed as Terminator faded only to stumble and look exhausted.

Ochako ran over to check up on him.
"Damn... I'm still not used to how exhausting using that is. Do you have any water?" he asked her.
Ochako hands him a bottle. He calmly took it before looking up. "Not much longer until the entrance exams... hey you nerd!"
"Huh? Yeah?" Isogai asked hearing that.
Bakugo turned to him. "You're going into support, so make sure you come up with some good equipment for me, Deku, and Kirijo... to support our power got it?"
"Uh sure." Isogai understood what Bakugo is telling him nodding. "I will do so!"
Bakugo nodded before getting up. "Alright, let's keep going."
"Don't you think it's time for a break Kats?" Ochako asked him a little worried.
Bakugo opened his mouth to say something only to sigh. "I guess you have a point."
"Extra effort often leads to wastes, not results." Hound Dog agreed over to him. "Training is important but it's always best to put your health first before that." As a skilled child counselor/therapist he knows what to do for Bakugo to mellow out a bit which is working a bit.
"Yeah, I know." Bakugo mentioned.
Ochako smiled before she kissed his cheek. His eyes widened. "Wh... what the hell!?"
Ochako chuckled over. "You really are a great guy Katz."
He blushed a bit before looking away. "Whatever... I should head back."
"Of course, I'll take you back." Hound Dog agreed before turning to Ochako, and Isogai. "You two get home safe."
"We will, thanks." Ochako smiled.
With that the Pro Hero, and Bakugo walked off to head to the new Bakugo Residence.
"Your really coming around then what you were before." Hound Dog started a conversation with Bakugo. "And in addition to training your Persona, and your Quirk, your also getting less abrasive."
"What's that supposed to mean?" Bakugo questioned in annoyance.
"Less volatile."
"I know what it means!" Bakugo snapped. "I haven't changed much."
"Then let's agree to disagree. Your still rash, and rude but you haven't been expressing it like before." Hound Dog told him.
Bakugo just grunted at that and walked off to his house, not wanting to listen to Hound Dog's praises about his better attitude. Soon they arrived with Hound Dog unlocking the door opening. Masaru who was reading a newspaper titled 'Former Student Commits Murder" looked up, and smiled. "Katsuki! Good to see your back home safely. And good to see you again Inui-san."
"Pleased to see you again, Masaru-san." Hound Dog nodded over to him. "Training went by without complications, and he, and his friends are getting fired up for U.A."
"Glad to hear it. Would you like to stay for dinner?"
"I appreciate it, but I have some calls to make." Hound Dog turned down the offer bowing. "I'll see you soon. And Bakugo, be nice to your mother." With that said he closed the door walking out."
Bakugo frowned only to blink seeing the newspaper. "What the!? What does that say?"
"Hm?" Masaru blinked noticing Bakugo is seeing the headline. "Oh... well some sort of incident happened near Musutafu. Every hero, and police officer is on high alert so nothing else is gonna happen Katsuki. Just leave it to the pros."
"Right..." Bakugo nodded before frowning as he looked at the headline suspiciously.
"Hey Katsuki, come help me set up the table." Mitsuki called from the kitchen.
"Fine, I'll be right there." he called back walking into the kitchen.
"I'm proud of you Katsuki." Masaru smiled as he watched now seeing that both Katsuki, and Mitsuki aren't yelling at each other or calling each other brat, and hag respectfully anymore.
Bakugo frowned at that only to pause. "Huh, why do you have four plates out?"
"Oh that, well Katsuki-" Mitsuki started over before hearing the door knocked. "On time! Come on in!"
Masaru smiled and opened the door. Who walked in was Nezu who is smiling.
"I do appreciate you allowing me to come and join you on such short notice... but I was hoping to speak with Bakugo personally." Nezu smiled turning to him. "You don't mind me joining you for dinner?"
Bakugo was looking surprised seeing the Principal of U.A. is here at his house but nodded not having a problem.
"Wonderful, now then I've been speaking with Hound Dog recently and I must say I am very pleased with what I've been hearing." Nezu chuckled with a cup of tea that just seemed to appear from out of nowhere.
Mitsuki blinking turning over where she DEFINITELY knows that she didn't made some tea wondering if Nezu had a second Quirk that can make a tea cup appear out of thin air.
"Hn, got my head out of my ass to really think." Bakugo said over towards Nezu.
"I heard, and while you still have your moments there's nothing wrong with getting frustrated or angry... if you didn't let it out that could be harmful both physically and mentally, though from what I've heard from Hound Dog... I'm very proud." Nezu smiled.
Bakugo only tched over crossing his arms before then being silent, and asked over to Nezu. "...Is Deku, and Kirijo alright? Seen a news article about a murder."
"They weren't involved." Nezu answered calmly. "The pro heroes and the police are looking into it."
Bakugo nodded as they sat down at the table.
"So Mr. Nezu... how were your duties?" Mitsuki asked him.
"They're fine, thank you." Nezu smiled. "I'm keeping an eye on potential U.A. students."
"Are Izuku, Tetsuo, and the others doing okay?" Masaru asked.
"As far as I'm aware they are, Tsunagu is assisting with their training." Nezu nodded.
"What about Inky?" Mitsuki asked about Inko knowing she gotten a better job thanks to the Kirijos, and rightly paid for all the work she done.
"She's doing very well." Nezu answered calmly.
Mitsuki smiled knowing her best friend is doing alright. "Good... she needs a day off. Gotten so skinny."
"Well, how have you three been doing?" Nezu inquired.
"We all had been doing well. Me, and Mitsuki had gotten some counseling together to better care for Katsuki, and get to know him better." Masaru explained to him. "And the school lets us know if anything happens, and otherside that incident with Kishinuma, nothing else as drastic happened."
"I'm glad to hear it." Nezu smiled warmly.
"Though we do have one kind of concern..." Mitsuki admitted over.
"What concern?" Nezu inquired hearing that.
"With Izu, Katsuki, and Tetsuo having Personas what are you gonna do to help them train with them?" Mitsuki asked over to him concerned.
Ah, Nezu already had thoughts ahead of that, and wishes to talk with Mitsuru to see if what he has planned can be official. If this works then the HPSC will not have a say on how he trains the future heroes, and potentially change U.A. to how he envisioned.
"I have some... ideas in mind for that." he chuckled taking a sip of his tea.
They shuddered from the chuckle from Bakugo wonders what exactly Nezu has in his mind. So the rest of dinner went off well, and Nezu finishing his talk with Bakugo begins to leave. Just then Mitsuki asked Nezu. "Sorry Nezu, can you give a message to Inky?"
"Hm, of course what is it?" he inquired.
"I love you Inky." Mitsuki answered what the message is as they were close as sisters.
"I'll be sure to let her know." Nezu smiled.
Mitsuki smiled from this as Masaru hugged her close. Bakugo rolled his eyes before going up to head to bed.
Nezu bowed walking out into a car as it drove off. Nezu was sitting calmly before he then asked over. "Well Hawks, I can see your here." Who is speaking two was Hawks the Number 3 Pro Hero. A orange haired man with red feathered wings, and a yellow costume on. He had seen something, and wanted to apply while encountering Nezu who's next stop is the Kirijo Household.
"Well both the Kirijo Matriarchs have decided to ask someone for help, and I be kinda bad to turn down the call." Hawks grinned over towards him. "Just happen to ran into you who's heading to where they live."
"I see." Nezu nodded calmly at that.
Ulrich362: A bit shorter than previous chapters but next up we'll see what Hawks and Nezu have to do with Mitsuru and Fuuka right bopdog?
bopdog111: Yeah. And before you all ask yup, the main antagonist of this filler arc is Jeff the Killer himself from the Creepypasta Universe. We won't see him next chapter though cause now we're gonna shift our focus on the Kirijos again. Though don't forget what Keith said, the Meta-Liberation Army is gonna have a plotpoint more then in canon.
Ulrich362: That's true... unfortunately. It sounds like things are getting bad even before everyone gets to U.A.
