Chapter 9
A week had passed since the Entrance Exam and Izuku was waiting patiently for his test results. He didn't admit it, but a part of him was quite nervous, even though he scored admirably well.
"I wonder how the rest of the guys are doing. I hope they did a good job too..."
"Izuku! Izuku! They're here! Your test results are here!" Inko cried as she came in along with Hisashi and Komeko.
"Thanks!" Izuku said as he accepted the envelope and took a deep breath. "Okay, the moment of truth..."
Setting down he took out a strange-looking projector. Pressing the button in the center, a holographic pre-recorded message with none other than All-Might turned on.
"I AM HERE, AS A RECORDING!" The Symbol of Peace announced. "Sorry, I haven't been able to contact you and your friends contact the past week I've been rather busy with some new changes UA has been making! What are those changes you may ask? Well, you'll find out when you start your first day of school!"
"I wonder what sort of changes they are..." Izuku wondered.
"Now onto your results! You earned a staggering 150 Villain Points! But that's not all, you see, examinees were also rewarded Rescue Points for helping each other out and you earned a total of 70! With a combined score of 220 points, you have not only become the freshman representative but you have also shattered the previous record once held by me! Congratulations Young Midoriya this is your Hero Academia!"
Izuku was shocked at what he saw, unable to stop himself from crying before looking at the test results to see he was indeed in 1st place with Hilda and Ben both in 2nd and 3rd respectively.
"Congratulations, kiddo!" Hisashi smiled as he slapped his son on the back.
"Izu-Nii is gonna be a super-awesome Hero!" Komeko cheered as Inko burst into tears of joy.
Izuku received a notification from the group chat he and his crew had set up and saw from all the messages flooding it that all of his friends had made it in as well. A smile overtook his face as he knew that this was his true start.
DEVIL
"Well, I guess it's time," Izuku said, taking a deep breath as he was already dressed in his school uniform, preparing to head out to start his first day of UA.
"Good luck, sweetie." Inko smiled.
"Thanks, Mom."
Izuku shared one last hug with his family before heading on his way. Along the way, the rest of his friends came in, all of them dressed in the school uniform as well. Hilda and Rosa uniforms were tailor-made to fit their big bodies but a few buttons were shown straining.
"Oh yeah! This is it! We're gonna rock this!" Himiko cheered, throwing up devil horns in the air.
"I just hope we're able to prove ourselves," Shun said, getting a pat on the back from Yaato.
"Relax, I have a feeling we're more than capable of handling anything this school throws at us."
"I just hope I'm allowed to sleep when I want to." Chikara yawned. "I pulled an all-nighter last night."
"Oh boy, you think Uta made it in?" Kohaku asked Bakara excitedly. "If so, I can't believe we're gonna be classmates with her!"
Arriving at the prestigious academy, Izuku and his crew headed in when they were greeted by Present Mic.
"Hey, little listeners! Just wanted to tell ya that your classroom is over there!"
After Izuku managed to get an autograph from the Voice Hero, the crew made their way in the direction pointed to them. Soon, they found themselves in front of a large door with a bright green 1-C on the side of it.
"Man, that is a huge-ass door," Katsuki noted.
"Probably to let those with junk in the trunk like us in." Hilda chuckled, getting a laugh from Rosa.
"Well, let's head inside, I guess," Ben said as he opened the door. "Ladies first."
"Why thank you!" Kirby beamed as she skipped inside.
Ben let everybody else in before himself, going into the classroom last as everyone looked to see twenty-four desks set out for them. Izuku perked up when he noticed Penny was there.
"Salutations again!" Penny greeted. "How nice it is to see you all again!"
"Oh hey! You're Penny, right?" Makoto asked. "Cool! Guess you must have gotten in on Recommendation."
"Oy, so did we!" Nia barked as Mipha silently giggled, sitting behind her.
Everyone soon took their seats, Ben finding himself sitting right next to Penny, causing him to blush as Hilda and Rosa's seats were custom-fitted to suit their big bellies and behinds.
"Ah, nice and roomy!" Rosa said in content.
"Heh, I can dig this," Katsuki smirked as he kicked his feet up on his desk while Kirby sat right behind him.
"Well, it looks like we're all here," Mukuro noted. "So...where is our teacher?"
"Yes, I'm curious about that myself." Milo hummed curiously.
"I AM HERE!" A familiar voice boomed out as All-Might himself strutted into the room. "COMING THROUGH THE DOOR LIKE A NORMAL PERSON!"
"What the fuck, ALL-MIGHT is our teacher?!" Katsuki gawked in disbelief, losing his balance and crashing to the ground. A sight that made everyone else laugh.
"INDEED I AM, ZYGOTES!" The Symbol of Peace said. "I HAVE TAKEN UP A TEACHING JOB HERE AT MY ALMA MATER TO GUIDE THE NEXT GENERATION OF HEROES!"
"Awesome! This is gonna be so cool!" Yaato grinned.
All-Might soon became sheepish. "Of course, since I'm relatively new to the whole teaching thing, I have called in for help via a TA."
Suddenly, a small figure stepped in and everyone looked to see an anthropomorphic rodent-like creature in a nice suit and orange boots walk in.
"Hello, students! Am I a dog, a mouse, or a bear? The only answer you need to know is...I am the principal!"
"Wait, the principal of UA is helping teach us too?" Makoto asked.
"Indeed I am. Considering Toshinori just barely passed the exam to get his teaching degree, I have appointed myself as his guide to make sure he's putting you all on the right track."
All Might sweatdropped in embarrassment before clearing his throat and getting everyone's attention again.
"NOW THEN, ALL OF YOU STUDENTS HEAD ON TO THE AUDITORIUM FOR ORIENTATION! THEN, WE SHALL HAVE OURSELVES A QUIRK APPREHENSION TEST TO GIVE YOU ALL A TASTE OF WHAT'S IN STORE HERE!"
DEVIL
After finishing orientation and Nedzu heading off to have a talk with one of the teachers when he saw one of the classes hadn't shown up, Izuku and his crew, officially dubbed Class Might, had gotten dressed up in their UA-issued PE Uniforms and were out on the training field.
"NOW THEN! YOU ALL HAVE DONE THESE TESTS BEFORE AT YOUR OLD MIDDLE SCHOOLS BUT THIS TIME, WE'RE GOING TO KICK THINGS UP A NOTCH! IF YOU CAN, YOU'LL BE SEEING HOW YOUR QUIRKS AFFECT YOUR PERFORMANCE!" All-Might explained. "TO START OURSELVES OFF, WE'LL BE HAVING A 50-METER DASH RACE!"
Izuku and Katsuki were the first ones up on the track. As soon as the testing robot fired the blank, Izuku used the [Slip-Slip Fruit] to slide himself across the track while Katsuki catapulted himself with his explosions.
Hilda crouched down, charging [One For All] to the safest amount she could channel, and launched herself across the track like a cannonball. Rosa absorbed the sand around her and glided across the track.
Red and black lightning seemed to spark off Ben as he suddenly blitzed across the track. Everyone was curious if he had used [One For All] but he took notice of their curiosity and shook his head.
"No, I just used a Quirk called [Adrenaline Charge] mixed with [Kinetic Booster]. Nothing too special."
"Good thing I brought along some stuff for this sort of thing!" Kirby said as she took out a car tire and ate it, her outfit changing into that of a drag racer.
"WHEEL KIRBY!"
Spinning in place until she resembled a glowing pink wheel, Kirby rolled across the track at the speed of a car. Rebecca, who was taking the other lane, grinned as her back opened up in cybernetic plates, revealing some kind of airbag that inflated widely.
"COUP DO BOO!"
The airbag then burst open, releasing a massive burst of air that launched the cybernetic girl across.
"Sensational! Allow me to show you what I can do!" Penny smiled as she got into a runner's stance before jets seemed to protrude from her heels.
Before anyone could question it, Penny launched herself on bursts of green flames from the heel jets, moving at insanely fast speeds.
"Damn, you got a Cyborg Quirk or something, Choomie?" Rebecca asked.
"Um, yes, my Quirk is...[Buster Arms], I am able to copy the Quirk Factors of other people and assimilate them, adapting my body to gain new weapons and gadgets based on said factors." Penny explained, suddenly hiccuping afterward. "Those jets were copied from scanning and assimilating the Quirk of the Turbo Hero: Ingenium."
"Whoa! You got to meet Ingenium?!" Izuku asked excitedly as Penny looked a little nervous.
Bakara formed multiple glyphs on the ground that she ran across, boosting her speed with each step before skidding to a stop and nodding, her blonde hair fluttering majestically behind her while Milo ran after doing a few stretches to limber up, managing to run faster than normal.
Nia simply ran on all fours like a cat while Mipha glided across while riding a wave of water she somehow manifested. Kazuya activated his Sun Form and cleared the track in under three strides, leaving burning footprints in his wake.
Sumiko smirked as she snapped her fingers, activating a spell that increased her speed so much, that it looked like everything had stopped around her. A lengthened afterimage of her stretched behind her as she walked to the other end of the track before stopping.
"Show off..." Chikara muttered as he and Kohaku went next.
The Seraphim of Envy created giant rock waves under her feet, effectively rock surfing. As for Chikara, he transformed his pillow into a spear that he rode on like a surfboard.
"SNATCH!" Yaato shouted as he stole some of Makoto's speed, getting ahead of him in the process.
"Very funny, Yaato! If you didn't only take such a small amount, I'd call shenanigans!"
Everybody else ran normally, poor Kobeni looking the worst off as she gasped lightly while wiping some sweat off her forehead, getting a comforting pat on the back from Himiko.
"IMPRESSIVE SCORES ALL AROUND!" All-Might beamed. "BUT WE'VE STILL GOT THREE MORE TESTS TO GO!"
*Test 2: Grip Strength*
"Uh, sorry..." Izuku sheepishly apologized after using the [Strong-Strong Fruit] to turn the gripping device into a ball of scrap metal.
"Never fear, my boy! We have plenty more on standby!" All-Might reassured.
Izuku wasn't the only one as Hilda, Makoto, Kohaku, Yaato, Kazuya, Penny, and Ben had all destroyed their gripping devices as well. Bakara had also come close to destroying hers when she used a Glyph to summon a giant armored golem arm
Mercifully, everybody else had relatively normal scores, though Mipha gained a higher score than normal due to being a Zora, which granted her heightened strength compared to humans.
*Test 3: Standing Long Jump*
Izuku used the [Spring-Spring Fruit] to bounce across the sandbox but miscalculated how much force he used for the jump and wound up screaming across the campus.
"He cleared the fence, guys," Makoto said, holding his hands over his eyes like binoculars.
"Dumbass nerd..." Katsuki scoffed, shaking his head.
"I'll go and retrieve him. You kids keep doing what you're doing!" All-Might said as he leaped off after Izuku.
Kobeni gulped as she took out a Pop Green and then cried as she threw it onto the ground underneath her.
"GREEN STAR: TRAMPOLIA!"
A big flower with a bubble at the center sprouted instantaneously, bouncing Kobeni across the sandbox as she cried and flapped her arms before faceplanting into the ground. However, she managed to clear the sandbox at least.
Katsuki launched himself with his explosions, Lilique used her Clima-Tact as a pole vault with Mukuro launching herself across with an honest-to-god rocket launcher. Mipha boosted herself across with a water geyser she created underneath her and Ben simply hopped across and glided in the air as if he were sliding on it.
"AIR WALK!" Sumiko said as she rose into the air, walked to the other end of the long jump area, and settled back down.
Kazuya took a mighty leap and used jets of solar flames from his feet to increase his distance. Chikara just casually floated across while lounging in the air with his arms behind his back, Kohaku jumped and created an earth pillar to launch herself across while Penny used her heel jets once more.
"What did I miss?" Izuku asked as All-Might came back in, carrying him underneath his arm.
*Test 4: Ball Toss*
"DIE!" Katsuki roared, releasing an explosion at the apex of his throw to shoot his ball through the sky.
"Take it easy, Kaachan." Izuku said as he took his ball and used the [Gum-Gum Fruit] to stretch his pitching arm back before snapping it forward, sending the ball cracking through the air.
"Check this out. I don't even need my swords!" Himiko grinned as she took her ball and got into a stance. "NO SWORD STYLE: DRAGON PITCH!"
Himiko spun around, forming a dragon made of wind before throwing her ball, the wind dragon carrying it across as she stumbled a little before righting herself.
Kobeni used her slingshot to send her ball flying, Penny seemed to transform her arm into a giant mechanical gauntlet which she used to increase her pitching strength, Ben expanded his arm with [Hypetrophy] and then made the ball go farther with [Sonic Boom].
Kohaku created a hammer out of the ground and used it as a baseball bat to smack her ball into the sky. She then tossed it to Kirby, who ate it and transformed into Hammer Kirby, using her hammer in the same vein as Kohaku did.
Kazuya channeled the full power of his Sun Form to send his ball so far and fast, it turned into a blazing comet. Sumiko tapped the ball with one finger and used a spell to remove its gravity, sending it floating away into the sky until it disappeared out of sight, getting her Infinity.
"Damn! You're a right beast with that, aren't ya?" Nia pointed out as Sumiko giggled.
Ochako Uraraka was getting her stuff together in Class 1-A when she felt like someone had just done the same thing she did.
"Huh...why do I feel like I just made a new friend?"
Lilique used her Clima-Tact, which could also shapeshift in conjunction with harnessing the elements of the weather, to turn it into a mace that she used to smack her ball across while Milo threw his ball up and with a precise thrust from his cane sword, sent a burst of wind to push the ball across.
Hilda channeled her safe amount of [One For All] and threw her ball with all her might, getting a score just above Katsuki's by one point. Oka summoned a winged skeleton bat to carry her ball for her as far as it could.
Bakara created a glyph that acted like a railgun, charging up the ball before shooting it into the sky while Mukuro summoned a cannon from the ground that she put her ball in before firing it.
"My training shall not go to waste," Mipha said she threw her ball up and then pulled her fist back. "5000 BRICK FIST!"
Throwing a punch with all the force she could muster, the impact on the ball generated a shockwave that took a moment to register before the ball went sailing far away until it was a twinkle in the sky.
Soon, the tests were finished. All-Might clapped his hands, giving a nod of approval.
"TRULY FINE WORK! EVEN FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO WERE AT A DISADVANTAGE DID NOT FALTER!" The Symbol of Peace then turned to leave. "You can all find your student curriculums on your desk! Now...ALL-MIGHT AWAY!"
With a hearty laugh, All-Might leaped off into the distance, Izuku turning to his friends and classmates.
"So...anyone want to go to the new fun center that my dad made?"
DEVIL
Izuku's Crew were now hanging out together, enjoying their time after a successful first day at school.
"Oh, hello again!" Mipha smiled when she noticed someone approaching.
"Hi there!"
That voice drew Izuku out of his thoughts and he turned to see the girl he'd saved, holding Komeko and Eri's hands as they made their way over to the table.
"Nii-san!" Komeko beamed. "Ocha-chan here got my ball out of a tree and is really pretty and nice and her mama and daddy helped daddy build the center!"
Izuku smiled and took Komeko into his arms, not noticing her squirm out of his arms and onto the table, where she helped herself to some snacks, despite Eri reminding her to ask first. Luckily, she was so cute no one minded.
That and the portions were XXXXL, so she didn't put too much of a dent in them.
Penny then lifted Eri up and made her a small napkin's worth of snacks, which the little girl enjoyed. Penny didn't notice Ben dreamingly looking at her as she did such a motherly act, but Hilda did and joined in.
"Yeah. Knew she'd be perfect."
"Yes, what should we call their ship name, you think?" Milo wondered.
Meanwhile, a similarly sweet interaction was beginning.
"I never got the chance to…!" Both Izuku and Ochacko started, only to realize they were saying the same thing. "Oh, um…Y-you…you first! Um…!"
Ochacko stepped back and composed herself.
"I wanted to say thank you for saving me back at the Test." She smiled. "But I didn't see you at school, so I was worried you didn't get in.."
"Oh, we did!" Izuku assured her. "Its just, well…me and most of my friends…We lived out of Japan for most of our lives, so…we're kind of in a…not exactly Special Ed but…"
"Oh! I get ya." Ochacko smiled, then looked over her shoulder at the group.
"Oh!" Izuku realized. "…Wow, saying 'Oh' a lot…Anyways. Um…I didn't get your full name?"
"Ochacko. Uraraka Ochako." The girl smiled warmly before motioning for Izuku to introduce his friends, which he gladly did.
Knightmare Lord A/N: Izuku and his friends have made it through their first day at UA. Sorry if the Quirk Apprehension Test wasn't all that good, but there's only so much you can do with so many characters with a varied set of skills.
