I went flying and Serana rolled off the bed. I heard a crossbow go off. It never hit me because Serana got in the way. I saw Alaric, Stephen, Bonnie, and Elena. Serana fell to her knees. I rushed to her. She was having a hard time breathing.

"Easy Serana. I'm going to give you blood and then pull the stake out. Just try to breathe okay?" I hoped Ric wouldn't shoot again.

"Okay." She smiled.

I fed her my blood and then pulled the stake out. She leaned forward and sighed with relief. I stood up and pulled her up with me.

"Alaric! Shoot him again! He has lost it! He's going to hurt her! Bonnie, make him feel pain." I fell to my knees as Bonnie made the blood vessels in my brain explode.

"Enough! Stop it! All of you! Why are you listening to Elena? Damon has done nothing wrong! Do you all think I'm being compelled?!I'm not, I can't be! Release Damon now! Or so help me Elena I will hit you! You have one brother and everyone here wrapped around your finger! You're hoping it will always be this way, but Elena it can't. You're doing this because you want both brothers wrapped around your finger. You can't have both brothers. Sure you're with Stephen now, but deep down you can't tell me that you don't feel something for the bad brother! You sicken me! Poor Elena, surrounded by the big bad vampires. You need all the protection in the world. You do what you think is right even though it does more harm than good. You need to grow up!" Serana yelled.

Elena screeched in anger. I was still reeling from the magical assault from Bonnie. I heard something being shot into the motel. The next thing I know is Serana has draped her body over me.

"I l-I'm glad you're safe." Tears started falling on me.

The pain in my head stopped and I heard Elena screeching at Stephen. However Serana was silent. I looked up to see blood dripping from her mouth. Then I saw fear and relief in her eyes.

"You're okay?" She fell to the floor.

"Serana! You stay with me! Stay with me! Ric! Help me please?!" I looked at her back and began gently pulling out the bullets.

Alaric rushed in to help me. My hands were trembling. My hands never trembled like this. Ric put his hand on my shoulder.

"Let me do this, Damon. This is our fault, let me do this." Alaric said.

"If she dies I'm leaving and taking her to be buried in the family plot. Then I'll kill Elena." I hissed.

Serana coughed up blood. I held her hand and she smiled at me.

"No killing... promise me..." she smiled.

"I can't. You risked your life for mine. What I was never bothered you. It hasn't been long, but I don't want to lose you. I care about you." I said.

"Then I... won't... die." She gasped out painfully.

Ric worked fast and efficiently. He was able to remove all of the bullets and splinters. She was able to breathe normally again, but her heart rate was still slow. I fed her more blood and Ric pulled out a test kit.

"What are you doing?" He looked at me.

"She needs a transfusion. I need to know her blood type." Ric found out she was O negative.

"Damn. That's a rough blood type. I have O positive but no O negative. We have to leave. You keep a hold on her in the car. We will put Elena in the trunk." Alaric said.

I picked Serana up and she cried out in pain. I froze.

"She'll be okay. Her body is mending. She'll be a little sore for a while." Ric said and Elena started screeching.

"Don't you dare put me in here Stephen! If you do, we are over! You hear me?" She yelled.

Bonnie cast a spell over the trunk so we wouldn't hear Elena at all. Stefen closed it and I smiled. I put Serana in the middle and climbed in after her. Stefen slammed the door. I almost scoffed, but I realized he was hurting.

Serana stirred and Stefen climbed in next to her. Bonnie climbed in the front passenger seat and we left. It was silent in the car except for the occasional whimper from Serana. Ric kept looking back at me and Stephen.

"You two, talk." Ric said and focused on the road.

I looked at Stefen and he looked at me.

"Why were you both here?" He was frowning.

"We were here because she found Katherine." Stefen looked confused.

"What do you mean, she found Katherine?" Stefen frowned.

"We were fooled, Katherine was never put into the tomb. She made a deal and got out. Serana can confirm it because she saw Katherine. Katherine tried to compel her." I saw the fury on his face.

"Do you still want her? She never cared for us?" Stefen looked at me.

I looked down at Serana. I hadn't really cared much in the beginning, but now? I knew I loved her. I felt conflicted about falling for her so fast, but she was different. She held onto me like a lifeline in her sleep.

"No Stefen. I don't." A look of surprise appeared on his face.

"Why what changed?" I looked down at Serana.

"Serana. She risked everything to get me here. She didn't expect anything at all in return for helping me find Katherine. Not to mention she saved my life, and again she didn't ask anything in return." I smiled.

Serana shivered and Stephen was quiet. I pulled the blanket off the back of the seat and covered Serana up.

"You're not afraid she's using you brother?" I glared up at Stefen.

"No." I felt Serana grab my hand.

I looked down. She looked so tired.

"Sit me up." She whispered.

I nodded my head and gently helped her up.

"I need to face your brother, answer some questions." She murmured, sounding drowsy.

I slowly helped her move. She leaned back against me. She held my hand and then looked at Stefen.

I felt exhausted. I also felt cold. I knew that it had to do with everything I had done the past few days. Plus the blood loss. I took a minute to get comfortable. I finally looked up at Stefen.

"Ask me anything." Stefen looked up at Damon then back at me. Staying awake was hard. My body wanted me to rest.

"Where are you from?" My body went stiff. I exhaled.

"I am not from this world... I, I..." I started shaking.

My vision became blurry. My breath became short and fast. I felt Damon's arms wrap around me and rub my arms. I calmed down slowly.

"Thank you Damon. Stefen in my world we have knowledge of all things supernatural, but they are fantasy. We don't have the supernatural. We have ghosts, a lot of kids see them. We have people who practice religion and witchcraft, but it's not real. We don't have vampires either. We only have humans. We had the Salem witch trials, but it was nothing even close to them here. None of the people in my world were actually witches. Just innocent women and children." I felt Damon's arms go limp.

He slightly pulled away. I knew what was coming. I clenched my jaw. I forced my body to support itself. I still had to come up with a lie for how I knew about Katherine. T

"How the hell did you know about Katherine?" Damon growled.

Shit. My body froze in fear. I didn't show it I wouldn't. I had to lie, but I couldn't think straight. The damage to my body was taking its toll.

"I, I saw it. I...was plagued...by headaches...and v-visions." I fell forward.

Stefen caught me. I couldn't keep my breathing even anymore. I was panicking and the pain in my body didn't help. Would he kill me? My chest started hurting. A part of me wanted to go home. However a part of me wished to stay.

"Damon..." Everything went dark.

My brother was livid, he was so mad at Serana. When she said she didn't have magic in her world Damon grew guarded. Serana looked hurt and scared for a moment, but looked mainly guilty. She started gasping and clutching her chest slightly. Then she fell towards me. When she looked up there were tears. Then I saw the blood on the corner of her mouth.

She said Damon's name and passed out. I looked up at Damon. He was glaring at Serana.

"Damon, she-" he cut me off.

"I don't care alright Stefen? She lied to me." He turned away.

"Did she ever get the chance to tell you? From what you told us she didn't have much time to give her back story." He growled at me.

He was upset. I could see that. However, I could also see how worried he was. Damon may act like the big bad vampire, but he cared about Serana. He looked at me and Serana started shaking. She had passed out, but started coughing. I smelt blood.

"Alaric? How much further? She pushed herself too hard." Ric hit the steering wheel.

"We are nowhere near a hospital yet. At least not one we can take a risk at." Serana woke up and started coughing into her hands.

She pulled away from me. She tried to balance herself, but fell backwards towards Damon. She laughed and then coughed blood up again.

"At least it's not your car." Damon caught her just before she hit the door.

She looked up at Damon and I saw her smile. Damon's face changed into one of fear. He bit his wrist. She shook her head no.

"I will survive...I promise..." she patted his cheek.

A look of doubt appeared on his face.

"I've never broken a promise before now have I?." She smiled.

She kept herself awake by talking to Damon. I watched her the rest of the drive. I was relieved she was alright. She was fighting to stay awake and I could see it was taking its toll. Her breathing was in short fast breaths. She could barely keep her eyes open.

"Serana hold on." She coughed up more blood.

"Alaric, we have to risk a hospital. She can't hold on longer." I watched as she started seizing and coughing up more blood.

"Damon.., if I...disappear just know that it's not what I want, but I have to go home ..." Serana screamed and then vanished.

Damon was scared, his breathing stopped altogether. My view of my brother changed. He had found someone who he cared about and now she was gone. I just hoped she was okay.
