(Emily) What is your issue with me?

I was able to hear Emily, but I knew the questions was pointed at Serana.

"I do not know exactly where you stand. Your loyalty now is to your family. I respect and honor that. I also know you used to be loyal to Katerina Patrova. That is part of the reason Damon and Stefen are the way they are. I just need you to promise me something." Emily cocked her head towards Serana.

(Emily) What is it?

"Never let them out. Destroy the necklace." Serana said.

(Emily) I see. You have seen the blood shed that the vampires in the tomb could cause.

"No, what they will cause. That is if I don't interfere. They can't be let out. Ever." She was looking at Emily the whole time and keeping her face as emotionless as she could.

I got the sense she didn't like Emily though. Maybe from the part she had in me becoming a vampire? Or the part where she was loyal to Katherine. Or both.

(Emily) Very well Serana. However I have one stipulation. You tell Damon what he is missing out on. How his story was supposed to end. You changed his future by getting involved with him. Tell him what he misses by choosing you over Elena.

I saw the evil smirk on Emily's face. Serana looked at the ground. She pulled her hand away from me. She looked at the ground then back at Emily.

"I'll tell him if that's what you wish. I need to see the necklace destroyed first." She was glaring at Emily.

Her chin was up and trembling. You couldn't see it staring straight at her but I could see it from this angle. The necklace appeared in front of Serana. It blew up into dust. Serana turned towards me. She looked troubled.

"I found our a lot about your world after my first time coming. If I hadn't come to this world you would eventually have a daughter with Elena. I don't know exactly when, but it would've happened." Serana looks troubled.

(Emily) Tell him everything.

Emily looks happy about putting Serana on the spot. Serana looks overwhelmed. I met her gaze.

(Emily) Do it. Now.

I met Serana's face and saw the fear and guilt.

"Fine." She knelt in front of me.

"You take something called the cure. You become human for Elena." She stared at the ground, avoiding my gaze.

(Emily) Everything! You know exactly what I'm speaking of!

Serana's head spun around.

"No! That is one thing I will not say! How could you know about that and not know what damage it could cause to this world? You know very well what could happen! Are you trying to destroy this world?!" Serana yelled.

(Emily) I don't care! I helped turn this man into a vampire. I did so much to help vampires, and what did I get in return? Nothing! I learned about you when I was alive. It became my hope that you would share the truth that only you knew about. A secret that would So do it! Share the forbidden secret.

"Enough! I won't do it! Let us go!" Wind started swirling around us.

"Let us go!" She yelled.

The elements of nature fought Emily and Serana started to bleed from her nose. The fog began to dissipate.

"I will find Freya. I promise." A blonde witch appeared.

(Esther) Thank you.

We were back in the clearing and the elements settled around Serana. She wiped her face and turned to me. My face must've shown how I felt because she looked hurt. Then guilty and sad.

"What the hell was she talking about?" She looked scared.

I wasn't going to give her a chance to get her story straight. She was looking at my chest. I could see her jaw twitching.

"I can't say. I don't know what effect it will have on you and this world." She let her head fall on my chest.

I jerked away from her. She didn't look up. She didn't even move. She had frozen on the spot.

"I'm so sorry." She ran away from me.

The wind flared and swirled around her. She was gone before I could process what I just did. My heart hurt so much at that moment. It felt like my heart was being ripped in two.

(Esther) Don't let her go. The secret she is keeping is keeping you alive, and the only thing that could destroy this world. Please go to her.

I saw a blonde haired witch.

"Who are you? Why should I trust you?" I frowned at the witch.

I am Esther. You should trust me because that little witch trusts my son. I am a Mikealson. Now go to her. She needs you.

I didn't hesitate to listen. I ran back to my home. I didn't hear Serana, but I searched the house anyway. I went to the only other place that she could've gone. The Salvatore crypt. I was there in seconds. I found the new lock that had been put on was broken. I knew she was here. This was the only other place in this world so far that was of importance. This is where she woke up when she came to this world. I opened the door and there she was.

She was sitting on a bench. Her head was against the wall. Then she sat up. She looked up at the ceiling and then placed her head in her hands. It wasn't long until she was sobbing. She slid off the bench onto her knees.

"Why?!" Her hands gripped her shirt.

Then she was screaming. It was a scream I had never had to hear. Yes, my victims had screamed from pain and fear. This however was one full of loss, loneliness, and heartbreak. I understood how she was feeling. She had come to this world because her other self wanted to switch places. Then she was trapped here. That with everything she just went through? I could only imagine how she felt when I jerked away from her. If the secret she knew was so dangerous that it could destroy the world. I could understand why she couldn't tell me. My reaction didn't help. She was already alone except for me and my brother. I shouldn't have reacted the way I did. I watched her. This was her way of coping. Elena was sad when she lost her brother Jeremy. However she shut it off. Keep it locked away. Serana didn't. She was letting it all out. She didn't know I was here. I felt tears fall from my eyes. I stepped up and knelt next to her. I pulled her into my arms. Her breathe hitched and she started sobbing. She wrapped her arms around my neck. I wrapped my arms around her torso. She started hiccuping. I could feel the teardrops hitting my shirt.

"I'm so sorry Serana." She gripped my shirt tighter and shook her head.

"No." She mumbled.

"What?" I asked.

"You shouldn't apologize. If anyone should, it should be me. I interfered with your future. I may have ruined your life. If I had never been brought here you would've fallen in love, become human, and had a daughter. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." She hiccuped.

"Serana." I tried to get her to look at me.

She just pressed her face against my chest, hiding from me.

"Look at me." She shook her head no.

I sighed and rested my chin on her head.

"I don't feel sad that I won't have those things." Her head shot up and she met my gaze.

She looked so confused.

"Serana, you know more of my future than I do. You have seen so many events and you have tried to change them. Not for your own gain, but to protect others. When you showed up, did you know I would be there?" I asked.

"No." She said.

"Did my future even cross your mind when you told me Katherine wasn't in the tomb?" I asked.

"No it didn't. However when I told you what happened I knew the tomb would never be opened. I prevented people from almost losing their lives. Including you and your brother." I held her face in my hands.

She looked surprised.

"Your purpose in coming to me was to prevent people and vampires from almost dying. My brother and I are among the people you saved. Don't ever feel bad about doing what you felt would save lives. Even if we aren't human. You knew that, and didn't care. You don't hate us as vampires. You don't let what we have become cloud your judgement of us. Only our actions and what kind of people we are based off of our actions towards you. Not once have you let what you know about my life cloud your judgment. So if there is something you can't tell me because it will destroy the very aspects of the world we live in. Then so be it. Let it remain secret. I would rather stay with you rather than look forward to a future that is only a possibility. I would rather live in the now with you. You are my life. You are what I live for as of this moment. All I want is you." She looked so relieved.

The tears were still falling down her face. She jumped onto me. She wrapped her arms around my neck. She kissed my throat. I kissed her on the head. She held me tighter.

"I love you Damon. I wouldn't trade you for anything. Not even if it meant I returned to my world." Happiness coursed through me.

"I love you too. Let's go home." She kissed my neck.

I walked home with her. I didn't run with her. I wanted this time with her. It was just us. When I arrived at the house Stefen had pulled the door open. There was worry written across his face. I smiled at him as Serana's light snoring sounded in my ears. She was tired.

"What happened to you two?" Stefen asked.

"We went to the Burial Grounds. It didn't go over as well as Serana had hoped. She thought the witches might have answers about the magic she used. They did. They kind of gave her the answer she was looking for. We also had a little issue but everything is okay now." Stefen moved aside as I went to the living area with Serana.

I sat down and shifted her body. She barely moved. Stefen sat down as Caroline came down the stairs. She took a seat next to Stefen.

"So what happened?" I was done keeping secrets so I told him.
